    Fragile

Fragile is the fourth studio album from the English progressive rock band Yes, originally released in 1971 on Atlantic Records. It is their first album recorded with keyboardist Rick Wakeman in the band's line-up after Tony Kaye was fired for having a lack of interest in learning more electronic keyboards. Formed of nine tracks, four are group performances while the remaining five are solo features written by each member. Its cover was designed by Roger Dean, who would design their future band logo, stage sets, and many of their future album covers.

Fragile received a positive reception upon its release and was a commercial and critical success, reaching No. 4 on the US Billboard Top LPs chart and No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart. Roundabout was released as a single in the US which reached No. 13 and is one of the band's best known songs. The album is certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling over 2 million copies.

    Drama

1980 was an interesting year for the legendary prog-rockers Yes. While the Close To The Edge line-up was taking a break for a few years, founding member Chris Squire maintained the legendary status of the band along with long-time band mates Steve Howe and Alan White, with new members Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes (both from The Buggles), and created the hard rocking masterpiece Drama.

A bit of a departure from the more classically oriented feel of previous efforts, this album slammed all the way to the top of the rock charts! From the kick off track Machine Messiah, Yes was a new entity with a lot of guts, flair for delivering a hit album, and a darling of the new video medium thanks to the support of outlets like MTV.

New Yes vocalist Trevor Horn and keyboardist Geoff Downes were nothing but first class musicians from the word go, and the writing of the band in total truly generated some of the more enduring tunes in their four decade long catalog. For instance, the entire side two of this album was usually played in its entirety at radio due to the power of each song. With stand outs like Into The Lens with its I Am A Camera refrain, it was easy to hear why this new edgy Yes sound truly resonated in the early '80s. If you need more proof, how about the incredible musicianship on Run Through The Light, and of course the super hit Tempus Fugit, both of which made this album the classic that it is to this day. Steve Howes guitar work was second to none, along with some very heavy bass and drum work throughout from Chris Squire and Alan White, Drama was truly a remarkable team effort for Yes.

Friday Music is once again the proud home of yet another classic Yes masterpiece, with their masterwork Drama. Issued here for the first time in the 180g audiophile vinyl format, the fans have been requesting this and of course, we heard you loud and clear. This limited edition album is mastered from the original Atlantic tapes by Joe Reagoso (Close To The Edge/90120/Relayer) and also includes the limited edition gatefold cover, as you remember it.

    Tales From Topographic Oceans

Tales from Topographic Oceans is the sixth studio album from the English rock band Yes, originally released as a double album on 7 December 1973 by Atlantic Records.

Yes is among the longest lasting and most successful of the '70s progressive rock groups, proving to be one of the lasting success stories from that musical genre. The band, founded in 1968, overcame a generational shift in its audience and the departure of its most visible members at key points in its history to reach the end of the century as the definitive progressive rock band. Where rivals such as Emerson, Lake & Palmer withered away commercially after the mid-'70s, and Genesis and King Crimson altered their sounds so radically as to become unrecognizable to their original fans, Yes retained the same sound, and performed much of the same repertoire that they were doing in 1971, and for their trouble, found themselves being taken seriously a quarter of a century later. Their audience remained huge because they had always attracted younger listeners drawn to their mix of daunting virtuosity, cosmic (often mystical) lyrics, complex musical textures, and powerful yet delicate lead vocals.

Includes Alternate Versions Of Everydays, Dear Father & Something's Coming

Yes (1969) is considered among the first progressive Rock albums. The original line-up of vocalist Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye, and drummer Bill Bruford remained intact for the album's recording.

In an era when psychedelic meanderings were the order of the day, Yes delivered a surprisingly focused and exciting record that covered lots of bases in presenting their sound. The album opens boldly, with the fervor of a metal band of the era playing full tilt on Beyond and Before, but it is with the second number, a cover of the Byrds' I See You, that they show some of their real range. The song is highlighted by an extraordinary jazz workout from lead guitarist Peter Banks and drummer Bill Bruford that runs circles around the original by Roger McGuinn and company.

We've included a bonus LP to the original package, with early versions of other songs, previously not included on the album. With remastered audio and augmented by a 4-page booklet, this is an essential Prog collector's item!

    Time And A Word

The phenomenal success of the Yes 180g Audiophile Vinyl series continues with their legendary second smash album Time And A Word. Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Peter Banks, Bill Bruford and Tony Kaye created this masterpiece in 1970 and the stunning partnering with the voice of Jon Anderson truly made it one of the more memorable albums from that decade.

With such concert and fan favorites like the smashes Sweet Dreams, Then, and the pivotal ballad Time And A Word, this album was not only a prog-rock pleaser, but an all around classic rock event, which has stood the test of time to this day. Stephen StillsÆ classic Everydays gets the five star treatment from this English quintet, plus the all time classic Yes track Astral Traveller is also featured on this stunning release.

Mastered from the original Atlantic Records tapes by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Records with Ron McMaster, Time And A Word also includes for the first time in North American gatefold the original rare U.K. album artwork, as well as a poly sleeve for the LP and a poly sleeve for thealbum jacket to protect your recording for years to come.

Including Bonus Track: The Calling (Special Version)

It was during the 1990s that Yes underwent one of its not infrequent periods of revolutionary change. Although it might appear unusual to the outside world, the idea of constantly re-moulding the Yes concept ensures the band remains a dynamic force. One result of such upheaval was the creation of Talk, the 1994 album regarded by many critics as their most powerful and intriguing pieces of work. It certainly represents 'a journey into the unknown' - as the album's producer, the multi-talented Trevor Rabin, describes it.

After the Union tour it was decided that Yes would carry on with Trevor Rabin, Jon Anderson, Tony Kaye and Alan White. Their plan was to record a new album produced by Trevor, which evolved into Talk. Trevor and Jon wrote all the music and lyrics. The aim was to tackle the challenges of the computer age. However, as can be heard on this welcome LP reissue, many of the traditional Yes qualities remain, including the use of acoustic guitar, vocal harmonies and a touch of the traditional Hammond organ sound.

In the aftermath of Talk, Yes was reborn with Jon, Chris, Steve Howe and Alan White back together. A succession of splendid new albums followed, including Open Your Eyes (1997) and The Ladder (1999). During 2001 the band embarked on a Yes Symphonic tour.

    2013 Stereo Remaster

Following a long-established production pattern, Mike Oldfield assembled some relatively simple pop- and rock-flavored numbers following one long introductory piece on his 1983 Disky release, Crisis. The 20-minute opening title-track is a quintessential Oldfield texture study that consists of sparkling synth washes with edgier material weaving in and out. A fine setup, this track cleanses the aural pallet, preparing the listener nicely for the tunes that follow. Yes fans who can adjust to the sugary highlight In High Places will enjoy Jon Anderson's springy vocal work on the track. The energetic guitar romp Taurus 3 will also appeal to most prog and art rock fans. Those in search of more ethereal Oldfield material should be aware of this record's pop leanings, but open-minded listeners will have a good time exploring Crisis, one of Oldfield's better releases of this type.

When this album was originally released in 1973 (the same year as the famed Live set), Genesis had become one of the fastest-rising groups on the pop scene. The band's blend of classical instincts, theatrical presentation, as well as whimsically complex and daring arrangements established them as leaders of the British progressive rock movement, along with fellow giants Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and Jethro Tull. After returning to the studio, these talented musicians continued to labor and experiment. The result of their effort is Selling England by the Pound, considered by some to equal their masterpiece, Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. It was truly a group effort and is still widely-acknowledged as one of the great albums from the 1970s! And in what was perhaps a foreshadowing of things to come, drummer Phil Collins made his vocal debut here on the song, More Fool Me.

Every Little Thing and of course the international fan favorite Survival. Also featured from the Vincent Gallo film Buffalo '66 is
the classic Sweetness from this incredible first album release.

Yes enthusiasts were superlatively rewarded with even more progressive rock favorites as the brilliant acoustic driven
balladry of Jon Anderson's Yesterday, Chris Squire and Jon Anderson's superb centerpiece Looking Around and the powerful
Bill Bruford, Jon Anderson and Chris Squire Harold Land truly made Yes one of the finest albums of the early classic rock era.

    Union

Union is the thirteenth album made by progressive Rock band Yes. This was their last release featuring all members of the new line-up (Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Trevor Rabin, Alan White and Tony Kaye) and the ex-Yes members group (Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Steve Howe), hence the name Union. Incredibly enough during the process of recording the album, all eight members do not play together at once.

The album reached #7 in the UK Album charts and #15 in the US Album charts spawning three singlesLift Me Up, Saving My Heart and I Would Have Waited Forever.

In 1992 the eight man band supported the release with a world tour after which Bruford, Wakeman and Howe left the band for good.

Friday Music continues its extensive Yes 180g Audiophile Vinyl Series with their masterpiece Relayer. Presented for the first time on audiophile vinyl, this amazing album hit the Top 5 in 1975, and continued their trek to the world stadiums and stages for the next several years. This time around, long time members Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe and Alan White welcome superstar keyboard sensation Patrick Moraz for his one and only album with the band. Three lengthy tracks made this the LP of choice for progressive radio stations that year, with Gates Of Delirium, Sound Chaser and To Be Over all receiving heavy airplay.

    Drama

Drama is the tenth studio album from the English rock band Yes, released on 18 August 1980 on Atlantic Records. It is their only album to feature Trevor Horn in the band's line-up as lead vocalist, following the departure of Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman in March 1980 after unsuccessful recording sessions in Paris and London for a new album. Horn was joined by Geoffrey Downes, his partner in the new wave band The Buggles. Drama was recorded in a short amount of time as a tour was already booked prior to the change in personnel. It marked a departure in the band's musical direction with songs more accessible and aggressive that featured the use of modern keyboards and a vocoder.

Drama was released to a mostly positive critical reception, with most welcoming the band's new sound. The album peaked at No. 2 in the UK and No. 18 in the US, their lowest charting album there since 1971 which fell short of reaching Gold certification by the RIAA. Into the Lens was released as the album's sole single. Yes toured the album with a 1980 tour of North America and the UK, and were met with some negative reactions during the latter leg over the new line-up change. They disbanded at its conclusion; Horn ventured into producing, Howe and Downes co-formed Asia, and Squire and White formed Cinema with Trevor Rabin which led to a reformed Yes in 1983.
