Yankee Hotel FoxtrotYankee Hotel Foxtrot is without question Wilcos most storied and experimental release. Produced by the band and mixed by Jim ORourke, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot finds the Chicago-based band stretching their creative boundaries, imbuing their trademark sound with inventive textures and song structures. Vocalist/guitarist Jeff Tweedys stirring songwriting commingles with a unique and eclectic sonic approach here that is stirringly emotional and beautifully mysterious. From the poignant opener I Am Trying To Break Your Heart to the stark and powerful Ashes of American Flags to the giddy pop of Heavy Metal Drummer, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is an ambitious original that no one should be without.
This 180-gram Double Vinyl LP version also includes a bonus CD of the entire album. Do not miss this: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is a must-have for any music fan.
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is an American Classic. -Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune, April 2002
Yankee's chromatic harmonies and sinous rhythmic phrases build and press against communication issues confronting us in the 21st century, and inquire: With unabated media interference and technological glut, how do we effectively communicate matters of the heart? Is what we are saying really being heard, and if so, who is listening? -Bob Gendron, The Absolute Sound, April 2002
In Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Tweedy, bassist John Stirratt, keyboard-guitar player Leroy Bach and drummer Glenn Kotche actually bring you the enchanting sound of things falling apart--and gingerly, doggedly coming together again. This is an honest, vivid chaos, and it tells a good story. -David Fricke, Rolling Stone, April 20021. I Am Trying To Break Your Heart

Sky Blue Sky2-LP Wilco Set also Comes Complete with the CD of the Album!
It's been a while since the last offering from Jeff Tweedy and Co, but three years of slavering from fans is about to be rewarded with this seventh studio album. Well... Sky Blue Sky was well worth the wait! Though Wilco are known as purveyors of alt country rock, Sky Blue Sky is an astounding demonstration of their ability to move between soulful acoustic folk, jazzy blues, country skank and pumping rock. Tweedy has the vocal range of three people, from country lilt to blues ache to folk sweetness - all this often in the space of one song. And what songs they are. 'You Are My Face' is a classic Wilco segue, as a sleepy 'Beatles-esque' ditty is suddenly interrupted with a jazz guitar explosion twinned with Tweedy's achy blues voice before returning seamlessly to piano tinkle and smooth vocals. There are stories of love lost and found, told with originality, humour and sweetness. 'How can I warn you my tongue turns to dust? Lack of disgust doesn't mean that I don't care. It means I'm partially there,' sings Tweedy on the delicately beautiful 'Please Be Patient With Me'. The instrumentation is a mini-rock opera in itself. Glorious riffs, thumping piano and virtuoso guitar solos from Nels Cline are orchestrated with skill, complementing the intricately composed and woven melodies. Simple and soothing, yet rich and rewarding, this is an album you unknowingly yearn for, like a cool hand on a hot forehead. A great album from a band in their prime. Our highest recommedation!
Wilcos first studio album in three years, Sky Blue Sky, has been perhaps the most ardently awaited release of 07. Eager fans had taken to shouting out pleas for information to bandleader Jeff Tweedy during his recent solo acoustic tour, and the web chatter has been virtually deafening. Critic Katie Toms of Londons The Observer addressed fan speculation in an advance review, declaring, with unalloyed delight: Boy, was it worth the wait.... Simple and soothing, yet rich and rewarding, this is an album you unknowingly yearn for, like a cool hand on a hot forehead. A great album from a band in their prime.
Sky Blue Sky is as eloquently straightforward as Wilcos last studio recording, the Grammy-winning A Ghost Is Born, was daringly experimental. Tweedys lyrics deal forthrightly with romantic separation and reconciliation, their bittersweet quality giving way, as the album progresses, to a more uplifting, redemptive mood. Tweedy quite literally banishes the darkness on the penultimate track, the inspiring, gospel-tinged What Lightthe albums first singleand concludes with a deeply affecting, til-death-do-us-part lullaby, On and On and On.
There are hints of early-seventies Southern California folk-rock sweetness in the harmonies throughout the band-produced Sky Blue Sky, a bluesy Allman Brothers feel to the guitar /keyboard interplay, and plenty of brash guitar solos that take songs like You Are My Face and Shake It Off in thrilling, unexpected directions. This is especially good news for the crowds that will fill the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, this June, where the band plays the first U.S. date of its 2007 world tour in support of Sky Blue Sky. Principal songwriter Tweedy cut these tracks in the bands Chicago studio with members John Stirratt (bass, vocals), Glenn Kotche (drums), Mike Jorgensen (keyboards), Nels Cline (guitars) and Pat Sansone (guitars, keyboards, vocals)all of whom are also becoming notable performers in their own right. Motivated by leader Jeff Tweedys desire to improve on his bands debut A.M. and informed by numerous life circumstancesthe birth of his first child, a recent marriage, a new mortgage, and a decision to quit smoking potBeing There begins a cycle of creativity and ambition in Wilcos career that has yet to let up. Far more mature and advanced than anything Tweedy and Co. had done before, the eclectic double album finds the group moving beyond straightforward country-rock and embracing a gambit of styles that encompass power-pop, romantic balladry, barroom-brawling rock, and immersive psychedelia. A journey that is ultimately about finding solace in rock n roll, Being There is a seminal record in every sense. The album has only bettered with the passage of time.
Jay Bennett, a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who joined the band before the recording sessions, is also largely responsible for the artistic growth. His keen pop sensibilities and keyboard playing expand Wilcos core rootsy sound, while Tweedy pushes himself as a songwriter. Introspective, surreal, and personal, tunes such as the explosive Misunderstood and meditative Hotel Arizona signal the arrival of a singular talent coming to terms with his own anxiety, restlessness, and dreams. And the band is up to the challenge. In addition to blending myriad sounds, Wilco gets more comfortable with the studio and adorns several arrangements with horns, strings, and hand claps.
To preserve the musics spontaneous feel and accentuate the dynamic contrasts, Wilco practiced, rehearsed, and recorded one song a day. Nothing is overthought or overly polished. The production reflects these decisions. Sonics are warm, organic, loose, and noticeably real. Its no wonder that Tweedy successfully convinced Reprise to release Being There as a double album and sell it for the price of a single disc. To help make it happen, he personally volunteered to take a decreased royalty rate in exchange for the unconventional pricing and resultant revenue losses. Tweedys gamble paid off. And how.
Now, hear this absorbing double album in the highest-possible fidelity for the first time ever! Mastered from the original tapes and pressed at Germanys legendary Pallas facilities, this 180-gram 2-LP version of Being Here is guaranteed to beat every other available version. (Plus, it comes with a CD of the complete album: You can't lose.) But dont delay! Wilcos Reprise LPs have been fetching hundreds of dollars on EBay for years. Get yours from Music Direct today!
Wilco have not made your standard rock & roll road album. Tweedy's songs use the one-nighter clichÉs of Grand Funk Railroad's We're an American Band as a means of exploring deeper issues, particularly faith and commitment and how those qualities are tested by geographical and emotional distances. Being There is an album of parallel journeys that frequently overlap, a tour of the heart that becomes a search for renewal. -Greg Kot, Rolling Stone, October 19961. Misunderstood

Mermaid AvenueWhen you first heard that Billy Bragg and Wilco were teaming up to set some Woody Guthrie lyrics to music, you knew it'd be an interesting project. But did anyone realistically think Mermaid Avenue would also wind up being one of 1998's finest albums? That's exactly what it is, a distinction it pulls off by simultaneously honoring Guthrie and blasting away any folksy expectations we might have of his music. Walking Guthrie's World War II-era lyrics into the 20th century's second, rock & roll half, Bragg and Wilco's Jeff Tweedy take turns on lead vocals, and the entire group collaborates on a sound that draws on folk- and country-rock, from Bob Dylan and the Band to Gram Parsons and Uncle Tupelo. The results are nearly flawless, ranging from yearning laments and playful children's rockers to horny ballads and brave protest songs that are not merely political but also profoundly moral. Like all of Guthrie's work, Mermaid Avenue is music to live better by. -- David CantwellLP 1

Made Up MindMADE UP MIND is the follow-up to Tedeschi Trucks Band's 2011 Grammy®-winning debut, Revelator, and the live collection, Everybody's Talkin'. Through unparalleled musicianship and a timeless, authentic sound, Made Up Mind proves that TTB is fast becoming a band for the ages.
TTB is known for their extraordinary family of musicians, and Made Up Mind continues that tradition as most tracks were penned by husband and wife Tedeschi and Trucks along with various friends and co-writers - Doyle Bramhall II, Eric Krasno, Gary Louris, John Leventhal - all of whom also contributed to TTB's debut Revelator. The album was also co-produced by Jim Scott (Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wilco) and Trucks, and engineered by Bobby Tis - the same team that developed the last two TTB albums.
Made Up Mind features "Part of Me," a song driven by a classic southern soul groove straight out of Muscle Shoals. The raucous soul-rocker title track "Made Up Mind" demonstrates the full power of the band from the albums first notes. Throughout the course of the album it becomes increasingly apparent that Susan Tedeschi has evolved into one of the most dauntingly commanding vocalists in contemporary music, her serious lung power exploding on standout tracks such as the Über-funky "Misunderstood" and just as convincingly digging into the core of poignant, tender ballads like "It's So Heavy" and "Calling Out to You."
Derek Trucks has indisputably matured into one of the finest guitarists of all time, tearing up barnbusters with his masterful slide and lead lines while showcasing his easier, more subtle touch on the bluesy "Do I Look Worried". Although Tedeschi Trucks Band bears the names of its co-leaders, each member of this 11-piece juggernaut contributes equally, there are no weak links in this true group achievement.1. Made Up Mind

SchmilcoChicago band Wilco's 10th studio album, Schmilco, features 12 new songs written by Jeff Tweedy and is the band's third release on their own dBpm Records. It follows Star Wars, which was released for free and as a surprise in July 2015.
Mostly an acoustic collection, Schmilco bears neither the vicious, fuzz-glam guitars of Star Wars, nor the dazzling, baroque-ish arrangements that fans have come to expect from Wilco. But in their place is a spaciousness and chaos that might feel welcome after 20-some years of enjoyed but now-familiar Wilco releases. It is an intentionally loose affair.
Schmilco finds band leader Tweedy in a state of alienation: how to cope with dissonance between self-identity and the public perception of his band - to maintain an innocence and earnestness even as some have come to see him as more (or less) than human, and Wilco as something other than six musicians?
"I think this record is 'joyously negative'," Tweedy said. "It's sad in a lot of ways but not in any that reach a conclusion of doom or hopelessness I just had a lot of fun being sour about the things that upset me."
On Thursday, Wilco shared "Locator" from the forthcoming album and today shares "If I Ever Was A Child." Both songs are available as an instant download upon pre-ordering the album in the band's store, on iTunes or Amazon.
Recorded at the band's Chicago studio the Loft, Schmilco is produced by Jeff Tweedy and Tom Schick.

Summerteeth+ Full Length CD - LP Cut from Original Masters and Pressed at Pallas in Germany!
With their 1999 release Summerteeth, Wilco transcended the alt-country confines of their acclaimed earlier albums and created what Jeff Tweedy called a kind of a twisted pop record, a dark pop record. While staying true to its back-porch groove and plain-spoken poetry, one of the most admired alternative bands anywhere took yet another step forward here by taking on the art of classic pop music. The lush string arrangements and gorgeous harmonies of tracks like She's a Jar and Pieholden Suite suggest nothing less than a landlocked Brian Wilson, while more straightforward rockers like the opener I Can't Stand It bear the influence of everything from R&B to psychedelia. Still, for all of the warmth and beauty of the record's arrangements, Tweedy's songs here are perhaps his darkest and most haunting to date, where even the sunniest melodies mask moments of devastating power.1. Still Feel Gone1991's Still Feel Gone is the sophomore release from the seminal alt-country group Uncle Tupelo which famously spawned both Jeff Tweedy's Wilco and Jay Farrar's Son Volt upon its demise. The least country sounding album of the band's four record output, Still Feel Gone's 13-tracks unceremoniously pay homage to their garage and punk-rock roots, offering what is arguably the best document of the full range of the band in the process.
From the country stomp of Looking for a Way Out, to the lap-steel driven Still Be Around and Watch Me Fall, through the Minutemen tribute D. Boon and the solitary shuffle of True to Life, Still Feel Gone finds Uncle Tupelo courageously using the momentum of their impressive debut to not only champion their influences but prove what they're truly capable of in terms of both sound and vision.1. Established from the ashes of alt-country legends Uncle Tupelo by Jeff Tweedy and other former members, Wilco was an apple that initially didn't fall too far from the tree. Mermaid Avenue Vol. IIIWhen American folk legend Woody Guthrie died in 1967, at the age of 55, among his stored belongings were thousands of complete song lyrics for which he had not written out music or made recordings. Many of them had been written in the 1940s and '50s, in the Guthrie family home on Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn. The lyrics remained in boxes for decades, but once his daughter Nora found them in the 1990s, she knew they had to be shared. She approached English singer-songwriter and activist Billy Bragg to select some to set to music. The Chicago rock band Wilco came aboard soon after, with Jeff Tweedy writing music-along with his late bandmate Jay Bennett on some songs-and the band recording with both Tweedy and Bragg on vocals. Natalie Merchant joined the group to sing a duet with Bragg and two solo songs, and guitarist/singer Corey Harris, who wrote two songs and co-wrote one, performed on many tracks.
In 1998, the first batch of songs was released to critical acclaim as Mermaid Avenue, receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Folk Album. This second volume followed in 2000. This third volume, released in conjunction with Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions.LP 1

Wilco (The Album)Wilcos newest release and seventh studio outing, Wilco (the album), took shape quickly in January 2009 after the band traveled to Auckland, New Zealand to participate in an Oxfam International benefit project. The band began cutting tracks for the new album, producing it themselves with the help of engineer Jim Scott. The sextet completed the album at its Chicago loft studio and performed some of the new material in April at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Wilco (the album) combines the intimacy of its previous studio release, Sky Blue Sky (2007), with the experimentation of A Ghost Is Born (2004) in a set that boasts strong melodies and gorgeous, often unabashedly pop arrangements. Wilco has clearly laid out the welcome mat to admirers of all aspects of its career. The album even opens with Wilco (the song), originally unveiled in the groups performance on The Colbert Report last October.
Vocalist Jeff Tweedys lyrics remain frank and fascinating, and, similar to Sky Blue Sky, most songs are conscise. Bull Black Nova, however, features a dramatically building arrangement and thrilling guitar crescendo that comes across as more of a duel than a jam. Its followed by the gentle You and I, a duet between Tweedy and Canadian indie sensation Feist, and You Never Know, a glorious anthem. The album culminates with Everlasting Everything, a piano-driven ballad with delicate sonic nuances that lyrically celebrates loves enduring power.
The vinyl version of Wilco (the album) is pressed on 180-gram audiophile-quality vinyl and includes the complete album on CD and MP3. Per Wilco's high standards, the sonics are tremendous, filled with immense detail, warmth, and presence. Yet another masterwork by the best American rock band going.

FanfareJonathan Wilson returns in 2013 with Fanfare, an epic, grandiose and highly ambitious production that builds upon the success of his Bella Union debut.
With 2011's critically-lauded Gentle Spirit, audiences worldwide were introduced to the prodigious talents of singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and unrivalled guitar hero Jonathan Wilson. Gentle Spirit's authentic exploration and modern updating of the Laurel Canyon sound earned it high marks on many year-end lists, including those of MOJO (#4), Uncut (#16) and The Guardian (#28). The eagerly-awaited follow-up, Fanfare, is an even more ambitious production that instantly conjures thoughts of Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue.
'Fanfare as a word represents a fanciful showing, a bodacious movement of energy, a celebration of sound, Wilson explains. Something to signify an arrival, a special occasion. In this case, it's also the immense opening song that builds into a multilayered cinematic poem from the artist to channel the perfect love song through his piano. As a declaration of intent, it's a powerful statement.
From the initial idea of the record, I knew I wanted a concert Steinway piano to be the centerpiece--the beating heart--of Fanfare. I was going for this sort of widescreen sound. I wanted strings, horns, vibes, voices, solos, improvisation and a full orchestra on some of the tunes. Having that 9-foot Steinway was central to achieving the sound that I wanted.
Fanfare was made in Los Angeles over a 9-month period. Featuring vocal and instrumental contributions from heavy friends like Graham Nash, David Crosby, Jackson Browne, Josh Tillman (aka Father John Misty), Wilco's Patrick Sansone, Dawes' Taylor Goldsmith and Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, the album is a celebration of friends and family. Additionally, Wilson and British folk legend Roy Harper co-wrote several songs on the record.
Sometimes Wilson seems to need a pinch to believe his good fortune: There are an awful lot of wizards on this album. Wizards of all ages and life experiences. All these amazing voices and musicians. There is a high degree of musical prowess and pedigree here. Cross-generational musical sharing and passing down traditions is very important to me and something that must continue. This is the way you keep the Fanfare's blowing, this is how you keep the energies interacting.

TraceJay Farrar always provided the darkest, grittiest moments in Uncle Tupelo, so it comes as no surprise that Son Volt is a rawer record than A.M., the first album by Wilco, a band led by his former partner Jeff Tweedy. Throughout Son Volt's debut, Trace, the group reworks classic honky tonk and rock & roll, adding a desperate, determined edge to their performances. Even when they rock out, there is a palpable sense of melancholy to Farrar's voice, which lends a poignancy to the music. Trace isn't a great step forward from Tupelo's last album, the lovely Anodyne, but it is a fine continuation of the ideas Farrar has pursued over the course of his career.1. Windfall

The desert is a place of hardship and subtle beauty, a stark world that reveals its secrets slowly and carefully. For the renowned Saharan band TINARIWEN, the desert is their home, their hypnotic and electrifying guitar rock reflecting the complex realities of their homebase in North West Africa. The band releases their new album Emmaar in 2014.
Emmaar is the follow up to the group's 2011 album Tassili, recorded in the Algerian desert with an esteemed cadre of musicians including Wilco's Nels Cline and TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe and Kyp Malone - the album won a Grammy for Best World Music.
But due to political instability in their homeland, TINARIWEN recorded the new record in another desert: Joshua Tree, California. Created over three weeks in the region known for spaced-out rock 'n' roll and psychedelic cowboy folk, Emmaar showcases an organic feel from the rolling hand drums and meandering guitars of album opener "Toumast Tincha" chants to the galloping beats of the forward-marching "Chaghaybou." "We were not in a proper studio or outside in the desert like Tassili," Ag Leche says, "we built a studio in a big house in Joshua Tree. Everybody in the same room, with no separation. We wanted something which sounded natural and live."
Along with the original members who founded the group in the 1980s (vocalists and guitarists Ibrahim Ag Alhabib, Abdallah Ag Alhousseyni, and Alhassane Ag Touhami) and the younger generation who grew up listening to the band and joined in the 1990s (multi-instrumentalist Eyadou Ag Leche, guitarist Elaga Ag Hamid, and percussionist Said Ag Ayad), a group of American musicians appear on the album. Accompanied by Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, Matt Sweeney from Chavez, Nashville fiddler Fats Kaplin, and poet Saul Williams, Emmaar (mixed by Vance Powell (Jack White, The Dead Weather ) is a richly layered listen solidified by atmospheric textures and gritty guitar-work.1. One True VineComing off the huge success of her first collaboration with Wilco frontman
Jeff Tweedy - the Grammy winning You Are Not Alone - Mavis Staples
wanted to make their second album together both a continuation of the
joyous spirit of the first, and an evolution. With new song offerings from
Alan Sparhawk of Low, Nick Lowe, and three new Tweedy originals, One True
Vine is at once a darker and more uplifting album, anchored by reinventions
of two 70s classics - Funkadelic's "Can You Get to That?" and the Staples
Singer's "I Like the Things About Me." Tweedy and Staples have constructed
a dense narrative arc, that starts with the literal soulsearching of Sparhawk's
"One Holy Ghost" and Tweedy's "Jesus Wept," and then breaks wide open
with Nick Lowe'ssoaring "Far Celestial Shores," a song he wrote for Mavis
after touring together with Wilco. After that, the album builds to full tent
revival mode, as the dark night of the soul passes and joy arrives in the form
of Mavis' glorious voice. Closing out with Tweedy's rapturoustitle track,
One True Vine truly builds on the promise of You Are Not Alone, and will
delight the myriad fans discovering Mavis for the first time though her
Grammy wins and performances, her White House performance in the
tribute to Memphis Soul, and the glorious second act of this American icon.1. Holy Ghost

Star WarsStar Wars is the Grammy-award winning band's ninth studio album and its first since 2011's The Whole Love.
The new album was recorded at the band's Chicago loft and features 11 original Wilco-penned tunes. Wilco is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, and its label dBpm has recently released two anniversary-related collections: Alpha Mike Foxtrot, a box set of rarities and What's Your 20?, a compilation of studio tracks from the band's first eight albums.
"We've been feeling very fortunate lately being reminded of how long we've been able to do this," Tweedy said. "We believe one of the primary reasons for our good fortune has been our audiences reaction to our impulse to be heard and our habit of erring on the side of that desire to override financial ambition. Not that we don't enjoy getting paid. We do. But this is a recommitment to the idea that music is more important to our lives. Art is more worthy of our striving. And fun is more sustaining than cash. It's not intended to be a comment on the music business, just one band's wish to give our fans a jolt of joy: a fun surprise. In that spirit we hope you will accept this gift and if not, well, maybe next time."1. EKG

You Are Not AloneSoul Gospel Legend at the Top of Her Game: Staples Declared Best Artist at 2010's Lollapalooza Festival
Hallelujah: You Are Not Alone Might Be the Best New Album You Hear in 2010
Stellar Set Produced by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and Features Songs by Allen Toussaint, John Fogerty, Tweedy, Randy Newman, and More
The best album you hear in 2010? You Are Not Alone will be at the top of the list. This is music that's timeless, soulful, and pertinent, performed with an energy and commitment that burns with the same level of conviction as Mavis Staples' belief in a higher power. Here's a record that will change your life and elevate your mood. Just as its two main architects intended.
When Wilco leader Jeff Tweedy and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Mavis Staples sat down to talk about what they wanted her new album to sound like, they both turned to the original spiritual roots of the Staples Singers as a backbone. Both wanted to make a record about connection, about reaching out to someone through the power of music. What they achieved is the album of Staples' career, a warm, powerful, spiritual, and fervent collection of brilliantly chosen and interpreted songs.
Produced by fellow Chicagoan Jeff Tweedy at Wilcos studio The Loft, the intimate and textured production--glorious on LP--mixes traditional gospel numbers with two new songs written for Mavis by Tweedy, plus her unique interpretations of songs by Pops Staples, Randy Newman, Allen Toussaint, John Fogerty, Rev. Gary Davis and Little Milton. Backed by Mavis smoking touring band (Rick Holmstrom, guitar, vocals; Jeff Turmes, bass, vocals; Stephen Hodges, drums; Donny Gerrard, background vocals) and featuring guest turns from Tweedy and Wilcos Patrick Sansone, with background vocals by Kelly Hogan and Nora OConnor, the album cradles Mavis exquisite voice, allowing her to stretch out emotionally on tracks like Randy Newmans Losing You and the Creedence Clearwater Revival chesnut Wrote a Song For Everyone.
The two songs Jeff wrote for Mavis meld seamlessly into the vibe and theme of the album: He would listen to my conversations, my words, and then feed off that. The songs he wrote take me places I wouldnt normally go, says Mavis.
Already one of the bestâ€received releases of 2010, Mavis message of joy and redemption has found the setting it has always deserved. Truly, a must-own album that will last you a lifetime.1. Dont Knock

I'm Not There (Bob Dylan)I'm Not There is a meta-biographical film re-imaging the life of Bob Dylan as portrayed by six different actors - Marcus Carl Franklin, Ben Whishaw, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, and Cate Blanchett - in six different phases of the artists life and career.
The 4LP I'm Not There set features songs from and inspired by this film. The new interpretations of Bob Dylan songs are performed by an eclectic cavalcade of acclaimed and celebrated contemporary musicians including Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Sonic Youth, Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Jack Johnson, Sufjan Stevens, Mark Lanegan and many others!
Many of the album's performances include backing from The Million Dollar Bashers, an ensemble created especially for 'Im Not There' by Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo, featuring Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, Television guitarist Tom Verlaine, Wilco bassist Nels Cline, guitarist Smokey Hormel, keyboardist John Medeski and long-time Bob Dylan band bassist Tony Garnier. Other tracks on the album feature the alternative-country band Calexico backing up artists.
I'm Not There includes two versions of the enigmatic title track, a new interpretation performed by Sonic Youth and the original Bob Dylan recording, a rare often-bootlegged outtake from The Basement Tapes sessions which has been unavailable on any official release for a long time.LP1

SukieraeTweedy, the band, is a collaboration between Jeff Tweedy, best known as the
founder of the pioneering Chicago rock band Wilco, and his 18-year-old son
and drummer Spencer Tweedy. dBpm Records in conjunction with ANTI will release Sukierae (sue-key-ray), the debut release by
the aptly-monikered duo Tweedy. Sukierae features 20 new songs penned by
Jeff, performed by Tweedy father and son along with a host of musical guests.
"When I set out to make this record, I imagined it being a solo thing, but not
in the sense of one guy strumming an acoustic guitar and singing," Jeff said.
"Solo to me meant that I would do everything - write the songs, play all the
instruments and sing. But Spencer's been with me from the very beginning
demo sessions, playing drums and helping the songs take shape. In that sense,
the record is kind of like a solo album performed by a duo." With Spencer
on drums, Jeff handles his usual guitars and vocals, as well as bass and keyboards. Backing vocals on Sukierae come courtesy of Jess Wolfe and Holly
Laessig of the Brooklyn-band Lucius. Musician Scott McCaughey (R.E.M.,
The Minus Five, The Baseball Project) lends additional keyboard support on
