    Loaded

Ranked 314/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The Velvet Underground's self-titled third album was in many ways the debut of a new band as John Cale had departed by this time and was replaced by Doug Yule. Cale's more experimental style was replaced by Sterling Morrison's eloquent guitar accompaniment which allowed the human side of Lou Reed's songwriting to emerge like never before. Unobstructed by walls of sonic noise, Reed's insight and genius really shines here.

    Gets Loaded

It started out as live tribute last November. Lenny Kaye, Arto Lindsay, Voidoids' Ivan Julian and others convened at NYC's Bowery Electric to pay homage to the late, great Lou Reed. The Queens-based roots-rock band Hollis Brown were also invited to perform the Velvet Underground's 1970 album Loaded in its entirety.

    CI Audio VHP-2 Headphone Amplifier

The VHP•2 improves over our VHP•1 with a new potentiometer, 2 oz. copper circuit board, silver solder construction and select upgraded internal components.

    New and Improved

Our new VHP•2 is an improved version of our highly acclaimed VHP•1. Improvements include a new ALPS® Blue Velvet potentiometer, 2 oz. copper circuit board with silver solder construction, and a handful of upgraded internal components. As before, it is a versatile studio quality headphone amplifier for use with most any headphones.

    Audio Circuit

Unlike most amplifiers, it uses a unique current-feedback circuit rather than opamps, and is optimized for a wide range of load impedances (30-700 ohms). This high bandwidth, extremely low noise design yields greater than 120 dB of dynamic range and exceeds the capabilities of the human ear, ensuring that nothing audible is lost due to the amplifier.
Current-on-demand at the output enables the amplifier to respond quickly and linearly when necessary without risk of output distortion. When large amounts of output power are suddenly needed, the amplifier can respond extremely quickly without raising the noise floor of the system and degrading the signal-to-noise performance, and the high slew rate prevents odd order distortion.

    Headphone Swiss Army Knife

Two gain settings, selectable by a convenient front panel switch, allow for quick and easy optimization for high or low-efficiency headphones. Other features include Short Circuit and Thermal protection, looped-through output jacks and external 14vAC power supply.

What makes a record a true cult classic? First, it
must be released to a modicum of critical acclaim but zero commercial success. Second, in
almost all cases the artists behind the release
have to disappear immediately into obscurity.
And third, over the course of decades, a dedicated core of record collectors, critics and
true believers must spread the word about
the album in question. Well, by those standards, New York band Hackamore Brick's 1970 LP One
Kiss Leads to Another is the cult classic to end all cult classics (the
only recent contenders might be Rodriguez's albums Cold Fact and
Coming from Reality). Released on the bubblegum-centric Kama Sutra
label to positive reactions from critics ranging from Richard Meltzer to
Lenny Kaye, One Kiss sounded very different from anything else on the
label or, for that matter, anything else on the 1970 music scene; often
cited as the first post-Velvet Underground album, it does indeed provoke comparison's to VU's third, self-titled record and Loaded as well
as other descendants like the Modern Lovers and Television. But the
country-ish harmonies of vocalists Tommy Moonlight and Chick Newman lend the record a sound not unlike any number of current alternative "beard rock" bands plying their wares, and the discursive lyrics
    recall the Kinks.

In short, One Kiss Leads to Another passes the fourth
and hardest test of cult classic-dom, which is to remain relevant into
the present, even though Moonlight and Newman didn't record another
note together as Hackamore Brick until 2009. Real Gone Music is proud
to present this remarkable record on both vinyl and CD, with a bonus
track, the single side "Searchin'," appearing on both formats. Liner notes by Tony Rettman featuring quotes from Tommy Moonlight and pictures from the Hackamore

First Availability Of 39 Clocks' Music On Vinyl In Over 25 Years

Licensed In Co-Operation With The Band

Germany's self-crowned "Psycho Beat" combo, 39 Clocks were a low-lit shadow unit operating in a sparsely inhabited contrarian counter-culture all their own. Evolving from a confrontational art-punk experiment, known for playing vacuum cleaners and saws and terrifying audiences with brute volume, Christian Henjes (C.H. 39) and Jurgen Gleue (J.G. 39) put 11 tracks to tape in 1981 for what would become their debut album. Oozing out shock waves of bad acid trips, decayed guitar, and the dull stomp of a tiny beatbox, Pain It Dark is American garage and proto-punk filtered through some shadow-filled masterpiece of German expressionism.

The pair's most obvious touchstones are Suicide's crusted synths and the ragged stumble of Loaded-era Velvets - if fed through a particularly British lens of Swell Maps/basement-DIY whack-job-ism. Amongst the outsourcing, one can nevertheless detect a native Kraut heritage peeking through in the robotic beats and icy demeanor of "Twisted & Shouts" - as Dada and nihilistic an oldies cover as can be imagined. Following De Stijl's Zoned retrospective and a Bureau B issue of Pain It Dark on CD, this reissue marks the first availability of 39 Clocks' music on vinyl in over 25 years!
