    Everybody Wants Some!! Soundtrack

The official soundtrack curated by the film's director Richard Linklater, featuring classic songs from Van Halen, The Cars, The Knack, and many more.

Quote from Linklater: The Everybody Wants Some soundtrack tries to capture the amazing diversity of what was on the table musically at that time. So many artists were at the top of their game, and it seemed like a lot of popular genres were viable. Metal and R&B were as big as ever, disco was still hanging in there (although it would be 'dead' within a year or so), and, thanks to the movie Urban Cowboy, country was suddenly cool in places it hadn't been before. Even more exciting was the immediacy of punk and new wave, and the first examples of this thing you'd eventually know as hip-hop. Over the years some of this has been parodied and made to look ridiculous, but this movie is asking you to experience it as if for the first time - from those opening drum beats of 'My Sharona' to the utter newness of 'Rapper's Delight.'

Mastered For Vinyl And Lacquers Created By Kevin Gray, Then Plated At RTI

First Pressing Is On An 'All-American' Limited Edition And Hand-Numbered 3x 180 Gram Colored Vinyl LPs: Red, White And Blue

Vinyl Made In America At United Record Pressing Plant

Triple Panel Gatefold Jacket. Matte Paper Finish With Spot UV

Three Matte 11x11'' Full Color Inserts

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the motion picture Forrest Gump, we're proud to announce the first ever North American vinyl pressing of the soundtrack. All 32-tracks have been placed across three records to ensure maximum audio-fidelity, in addition to vinyl mastering and lacquers by Kevin Gray, and plating at RTI. The album will be available on 180 Gram ''All American'' Red, White and Blue vinyl LPs, pressed at United Record Pressing in the USA. First pressings will be hand-numbered and limited.

The 32-song soundtrack from the film was originally released on July 6, 1994. The soundtrack includes songs from Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Aretha Franklin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Three Dog Night, The Byrds, The Doors, The Mamas & the Papas, The Doobie Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Seger, and Buffalo Springfield, among others. Music producer Joel Sill reflected on compiling the soundtrack: ''We wanted to have very recognizable material that would pinpoint time periods, yet we didn't want to interfere with what was happening cinematically.'' The two-disc album has a variety of music from the 1950s-1980s performed by American artists. According to Sill, this was due to Zemeckis' request, ''All the material in there is American. Bob (Zemeckis) felt strongly about it. He felt that Forrest wouldn't buy anything but American.''

Forrest Gump: The Soundtrack is one of the most successful movie soundtrack albums of all time. The album - like the film - instantly captured the heart of America, going into the top 10 of Billboard's Pop Album chart and shipping over 1 million units in its first few weeks of release. This timeless double album of American Classics has since been certified DIAMOND - selling over 6 million copies.

''The movie Forrest Gump is about time. A simple man's journey through complicated times. The coming-of-age of a generation and a country. And at the heart of the story is the music. Music that lives with us, always there to remind us of the people, the places, and the events of our time.'' - Robert Zemeckis & Eric Roth

Featuring Songs Compiled and Sequenced by Zach Cowie from Woody Guthrie, Nina Simone, Kermit The Frog, Carole King and many more!

Includes Original Storybook with Illustrations by Artist Jess Rotter

What if your favorite children s book were not only a timeless story but came with a soundtrack of tunes that kids and grown-ups alike would love? Hold onto your boots... it s here! This Record Belongs To: is the antidote to your standard kids compilations. You won t find boy bands, princesses, or purple dinosaurs here. Instead the record consists of two halves an upbeat side for daytime dancin and a mellow side for bedtime lullabies. Among the many gems featured include songs from Carole King, Woody Guthrie, Donovan, Harry Nilsson, Jerry Garcia, Nina Simone, Kermit The Frog and more. Inspired by the classic Little Golden Books Series and Sesame Street s In Harmony albums, This Record Belongs To: stems from a love of music, reading, and a passion for teaching future generations the interactive experience of holding an album in your hands, putting needle to groove, and immersing yourself in the pages of a record s sleeve as the music plays. The compilation was compiled and sequenced by DJ and friend, Zach Cowie, who is as dear to our hearts as this collection of songs (previously passed around as a gift between friends) and is the soundtrack for many LITA & TMR offspring. These kiddos now all have undeniably excellent taste in tunes. The record is accompanied by an original, full-color storybook illustrated by acclaimed artist, Jess Rotter, which tells the tale of five forest pals who find a mysterious object a round, flat disc that they proceed to investigate. The animal friends finally solve the mystery and learn how to play a record and let their bodies move to the groove (within the grooves).

    What's Shakin'

In the musically explosive '60s, Elektra Records, like most of their contemporaries, was diligently searching for the next big thing. Toward this pursuit, they often recorded demo sessions of promising artists, signing some and leaving others to find different label homes. In 1966, the label collected some of the best of these demos and compiled them for the Whats Shakin album. It contains the first four tracks recorded by the just-formed Lovin Spoonful, who wound up creating a series of hit albums and singles for Kama Sutra. Notably, the album also contains two songs by Eric Clapton and the Powerhouse, recorded immediately prior to the formation of Cream. Rounding out the compilations are contributions from Al Kooper and Elektra labelmates Tom Rush and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

News of the albums release spread quickly, making it a big hit on the nascent underground music scene. Sundazed is proud to make these ultra-rare tracks available again for todays music enthusiasts. Sourced from the original analog master tapes, pressed on high-definition vinyl and packaged with original liner notes and photo inserts, this album belongs in the collections of discerning music fans everywhere.

    FM Original Soundtrack

Appropriately, the soundtrack for the 1978 movie FM feels like a radio play list of the era, collecting songs from Joe Walsh, Randy Meisner, Boz Scaggs, and other '70s radio staples. Steely Dan's title track, Queen's We Will Rock You, Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band's Night Moves, Billy Joel's Just The Way You Are, and Boston's More Than a Feeling are some of the highlights from this double-disc set, which also includes tracks from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Foreigner, and Linda Ronstadt, all of whom also appeared in the film. Though FM itself wasn't exactly a box-office smash, its soundtrack is a surprisingly durable and entertaining collection of classic rock that is arguably better than many of the '70s rock compilations available today.

What did South Africa and South East Asia of the 1940s and 50s have in common? In both places the local population was trying to gain independence from British colonialism. Although colonialism is never a good thing, there are always some positive outcomes when two cultures collide, especially when it comes to music. The Zulu of South Africa are the largest ethnic group in the country and are well known for their rich musical traditions. In the 1940s, however, Zulu musicians began fusing traditional Zulu choral music (often sung by migrant mine workers), like Mbube and Isicathamiya, with the instruments and rhythms of Western jazz. A continent away in India, we see that the same kind of musical revolution was taking place during this same period. Calcutta in particular became a musical hotbed beginning in WWII, when it became one of the major ports for the South East Asian Theatre of the War. The jazz scene was dominated by house bands from the various luxury hotels and British social clubs, with these bands often recording for the South East Asian division of E.M.I. Interestingly, one of the hottest stars on this scene during the 1940s was Teddy Weatherford, an African American 'expat' from the Chicago jazz scene. Beginning in 1942, following the Japanese invasion of Burma (Myanmar), hundreds of thousands of refugees poured into India, among these great jazz musicians like Reuben Solomon (of Iraqi Jewish descent) of 'The Rangoon Gymkhana Club' fame. Batuk Nandy, on the other hand, was a well-known steel guitar player who rose to fame by making "filmi" music for Bollywood films, while Bismillah Khan was an Indian shehnai (a traditional flute-like instrument) master, and one of only three classical musicians to have ever won the Bharat Ratna prize, the highest civilian prize in India. Khan was also one of the few musicians to perform at Delhi's Red Fort in 1947 for India's Independence celebrations. Despite the obvious negative outcomes, different cultures and religions forced together in the face of economic and political adversity has historically been a recipe for great music, and as this album testifies, India and South Africa were no different.

The Fault In Our Stars: Music From The Motion Picture

The Fault in Our Stars-Music from the Motion Picture is the musical companion to the eagerly awaited drama from 20th Century Fox. The soundtrack gathers new material from some of the Atlantic Records Group's most compelling artists, among them Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Grouplove, Lykke Li, and Birdy, who contributes three tracks including a special duet with fellow Atlantic artist Jaymes Young. As if that weren't enough, the album further features a selection of songs from such rising stars as M83, Tom Odell, Jake Bugg, Kodaline, and STRFKR, among others. Grammy Award-winning soundtrack producer Kevin Weaver (Boardwalk Empire, True Blood - Volumes 1 & 2) and music supervisor Season Kent (The Fighter, Entourage, Need for Speed) served as the soundtrack's producers.

In the film, Hazel and Gus are two extraordinary teenagers who share anacerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them -- and us - on an unforgettable journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous, given that they met and fell in love at a cancer support group. THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, based upon the number-one bestselling novel by John Green, explores the funny, thrilling and tragic business of being alive and in love.

The film is directed by Josh Boone, written by Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber, based upon the book by John Green, and the producers are Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen. Also starring are Laura Dern, Sam Tramell, Nat Wolff and Willem Dafoe.

Forge Your Own Chains: Heavy Psychedelic Ballads & Dirges 1968-1974

This compilation introduces a new direction for Now-Again Records and its owner, producer and famed crate-digger Egon. With the same detailed, no-stone-unturned approach he used for Deep Funk
(The Funky 16 Corners, Cold Heat), he tackles beat-heavy global psychedelia with Forge Your Own Chains.

"Those of us birthed into record collecting by the Hip Hop midwife revered Jimi Hendrix as well as James Brown. We searched for albums by Mulatu Astatke and Power of Zeus with the same fervor," Egon writes in his introduction to the comp.

Forge Your Own Chains showcases music from all corners of the world: Colombia, Nigeria, Sweden, South Korea, Thailand and Iran. The focus - in keeping with Now-Again's tradition - is on melody, driving rhythms and accessibility. Not one song is included on this compilation because it is from a "rare" album. Certainly, many of these songs do spring from albums that exchange hands for many thousands of dollars and many of these songs have never seen reissue. But these songs are all beautiful in their own right and work to form a coherent album.

Psychedelic records, long the mainstay of older, grizzled collectors and seemingly quaint, are, in the hands of Egon and those of his generation, giving up new ghosts. And, with comps like Forge Your Own Chains, inspiring new investigations into our not so distant (and still very much alive) musical past.

Lowe Country: The Songs of Nick Lowe

Nick Lowe has mined the various strains of American popular music, purposefully ignoring the lines demarking separate genres. Among the most prevalent influences on his style has been country music. On Lowe Country 13 artists--most of them up-and-coming and/or left-of-center-interpret songs from Lowe's 4½-decade career. These artists are the leading lights of a new generation who use classic country music as a springboard for their unique musical explorations. In these new, never before released tunes, they vividly display Lowe's trademarks: catchy melodies; clever word play and wit; a sense of fun and musical adventure; and the appropriate delivery of a lyric, whether it be outlandish or heartbreaking.

    King Strings

John Lee Hooker, Albert King, Johnny "Guitar" Watson And More On 180 Gram Vinyl Pressed At R.T.I.

Selected from the crown jewels of the rich King-Federal-DeLuxe discography, King Strings features rocking, socking guitar instrumentals from the Cincinnati-based family of labels cut between 1949 and 1962, programmed for power! Fashioned as a vintage King LP from the era and containing a killer line-up of the biggest talents the stable of labels offered, this is the historic various artists collection that should have been issued circa 1962. King was central to the underlying creative flow in R&B during the era, and the recordings here show the depth of style and synergy that the label routinely captured on vinyl. From the proto-funk groove of Hooker's "Stomp Boogie" (under the pseudonym Texas Slim) to two cuts of Baker magic captured in Paris over a decade later, and including key cuts from Freddy King, Albert King, Johnny "Guitar" Watson and many others in between, you'll individually hear a variety of instruments, tones and techniques, but together the clear, common artistry of the players' sovereign ability, sequenced like a long, climactic solo-this is the sound of some of the most heralded talent of the guitar generation! Includes a rich, detailed insert with rare photos and extensive liner notes by Colin Escott. Join six-string soul royalty for a showcase from the company that called itself The King of Them All!

Ain't It Hard! Garage & Psych from Viva Records

The short-lived Viva Records label was one wildly eclectic outfit. Helmed by hitmaker Snuff Garrett, this Los Angeles-based imprint targeted the teen marketplace with a series of extraordinary garage / psych / pop singles. The labels command of popular styles prevailed across these Top 40 hopefuls, ranging from the stomping beat of the Shindogs to the psych-fuzz nirvana of the Sound Sandwich. And theres Class of 66 garage-grunge from the Wailers and the Second Helping (yes, thats a teenage Kenny Loggins howling at the moon on the positively snarling Let Me In, among other selections). With a supporting cast led by Leon Russell and J.J. Cale and bolstered with choice Snuff Garrett Productions like Gypsy Trips and Sunday Servants, Aint It Hard! stands as an essential anthology of Sunset Strip sixties sounds!

Stone Free - Jimi Hendrix Tribute

    Red & Purple Mixed Vinyl

Stone Free: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix (1993) was recorded by various artists in tribute to Jimi Hendrix. The artists were drawn from many genres of popular music. Contributors include his classic rock contemporaries Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, blues man Buddy Guy, classical violinist Nigel Kennedy, alternative pop/rock bands Belly and Spin Doctors, hip hop artists P. M. Dawn, among others.

According to the liner notes, the artists were encouraged to not only record one of their own personal favorites but to also place their stamp on Jimi's songs. Several artists recorded radically different interpretations, particularly, P. M. Dawn, The Cure, Nigel Kennedy and Pat Metheny. Some artists, on the other hand, recorded versions that were rather similar to the originals.

The band M.A.C.C. is made up of Mike McCready (guitarist from Pearl Jam), Jeff Ament (bassist from Pearl Jam), Matt Cameron (drummer for Soundgarden and later for Pearl Jam), and Chris Cornell (singer of Soundgarden and later Audioslave). The cover of Hey Baby (Land of the New Rising Sun) is their only known recording. All four members of this group had previously worked together on the Temple of the Dog project.
