    Stay Hungry is the third album by Hard Rock band Twisted Sister, released in 1984. The album features the band's two biggest hits, We're Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock. It also features the power ballad The Price.


    It was the irrefutable menace of tracks like The Beast, S.M.F. and the massive Burn In Hell that connected with their loyal fans and displayed Twisted Sister's true power. Ironically, the album's very mainstream appeal would alienate their core Heavy Metal fan base and spell the band's overexposure-induced fall from grace, but for this brief moment, Twisted Sister were truly the talk of the town.


    With Stay Hungry the New York Hard Rock veterans finally hit it out of the park. Having paid their dues on the tough as nails N.Y.C. club scene, Twisted Sister had finally worn down the opposition and truly arrived.

    Still Climbing

    Leslie West is set to releases his album Still Climbing in 2013 via Provogue Records / Mascot Label Group.


    Originality, excitement, honesty and survival are all part of what makes a legend, and those qualities ripple through every song on the album. It's a testimonial to the strength and durability of West's artistry. Born October 22, 1945, as he approaches his 68th birthday, West has packed some of the most soulful and searing vocal performances of his half-century career into these 11 tracks. His guitar has never sounded more massive or riff-orientated.


    What's different on Still Climbing is that I wanted my guitars to sound as big as I look. So I used four of my Dean Signature model guitars with my Mountain of Tone humbucking pickups. I plugged them into my Blackstar amps - no pedals - and turned them up loud and raw, and what you hear is exactly what I did in the studio. These Blackstar amps deliver everything I need without 'confidence' pedals. I played one of the early tracks we recorded for Slash, and he said, 'That is as heavy as it gets.'


    Still Climbing is co-produced by West and Mike Metal Goldberg, who engineered all of the sessions. Songs like Dyin' Since The Day I Was Born, Hatfield or McCoy, and Busted, Disgusted or Dead establish a new litmus test for heavy.


    The latter features West and Johnny Winter on duelling slide guitars. West also gave up smoking cigarettes and pot after a bout with bladder cancer, so it's no wonder many of Still Climbing's numbers explore the theme of survival and, ultimately, triumph. To that end, West avows, Not only am I lucky to be here, but because I stopped smoking my voice is now stronger than it's ever been - as strong as my guitar playing.


    His inclusion of Feeling Good, a song by British actor-musician Anthony Newley that was made famous by Steve Winwood's group Traffic, is a testimonial to all of that. Its lyrics celebrate a new dawn for me as West and his long-time buddy Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) trade vocal lines.


    West has always been an outstanding vocalist, earning comparisons to soul legends like Otis Redding since his 1969 debut Mountain, which gave his historic band its name. On Still Climbing West revisits the catalogue of another classic soul man, Percy Sledge, with the enduring When a Man Loves a Woman. He's joined by now 32 year-old soul man Jonny Lang, who he met 15 years ago when Lang was a rising guitar prodigy. West says they cut the tune side-by-side in the studio, their soaring guitars and voices twining to bring fresh blood and a blues-soaked arrangement to the song.


    When a Man Loves a Woman, Never Let Me Go and Fade Into You explore a romantic theme. In 2009 West married his wife Jenni, who co-wrote many of Still Climbing's songs with the guitar giant.


    Balls, guts, heart - more words that are part of West's legend and describe the roaring crescendos and deep emotional roots of Still Climbing - and West himself. You know, when it comes to talent, we don't all move at the same rate of speed, West muses. Some people start at the top of their game and after 10 or 20 years you wonder what the hell happened to them. I like to joke that the older I get the better I used to be, but after giving up drugs and smoking, my voice can hit notes that I never could reach before. I'm thankful for that.

    A grimly glamorous ghoul who first slithered from the cobwebbed shadows of Charlotte, North Carolina, in the early 90s, WEDNESDAY 13 has firmly established himself as the world's premier purveyor of balls-out horror punk insanity. With a vivid and vile imagination that has endeared him to countless fans of riff-driven macabre over the last two decades, he has been one of rock's most prolific protagonists, spreading his credo of grave-robbing rock 'n' roll and Hallowe'en debauchery around the globe and unleashing a seemingly endless stream of blood-spattered albums and EPs.


    "All my favorite stuff, like KISS and ALICE COOPER and TWISTED SISTER, those guys set the bar pretty high," he states. "I always wanted to do something in the worlds of those bands. That's the blueprint. It had to be as outrageous and crazy as that and I wanted to be on someone's wall one day and have their parents say 'Oh my god, what is that?'     After several years of sharpening his creative teeth, WEDNESDAY 13 emerged from the fetid crypt of obscurity with his band FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS FROM PLANET 13, those masters of snotty schlock rock that released an astonishing five studio albums and six EPs between 1996 and 2002. Always the leader of the revolting pack, WEDNESDAY 13 then became a bona fide international rock star as frontman for the MURDERDOLLS, his collaboration with SLIPKNOT's Joey Jordison. The band took the world by storm, with Europe and the UK, in particular, succumbing to the feral charms of 2002 debut album, »Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls«; a raucous eruption of big tunes and bad attitude that noisily redefined the horror punk genre. After MURDERDOLLS went on an extended hiatus in 2004, WEDNESDAY 13 embarked on a widely lauded solo career that again provided him with an outlet for his relentless outpouring of fiendish musical and lyrical ideas.     If youve heard Daniel Martin-McCormicks name recently, it would have been either in association with his disco / punk / echo band Mi Ami, or as Sex Worker on the Not Not Fun label, or as Ital on NNFs sister label 100% Silk. Raised in Washington, DC, Martin-McCormick has a history in the citys hardcore scenehe was in Dischord Records band Black Eyes in the early 2000sbut was also making dance-inspired tracks during the same period, coming from a very different angle than the average guy with a copy of Logic Pro and a working knowledge of dance musics history.


    Martin-McCormicks music is a stranger thing. Hive Mind, his debut full-length under the Ital moniker, uses houses easygoing 4/4 structure as a kind of camouflage for more out-there sonic explorations, subverting expectations, seeking the links between dubs space- and sound-bending, industrials unsettling sonics and the effects and black holes of minimal at its weirdest. The album has a sculptured feel: sounds twist in space while melodies pitch-shift in an unsettling way, voices fade in and out, nothing is ever allowed to settle comfortably, everything vibrates.


    Opener Doesnt Matter (If You Love Him) sounds a bit like Tackhead if they had made house music, using a flickering and confidently repeated phrase over a lumbering drum and bass line, introducing swirling and bombing synths into the mix once the secret comes out. The strange marriage of treated voices and swelling, pitch-bent chords and effects on Floridian Void draws the listener into its strange atmosphere; its an ambient house track of sorts, but the ambience here is a swirling, confusing, watery vortex rather than fuzzy, new age pap. Privacy Settings builds creepy wolf howls over a slow bass line and cold, far-away drums, estranged from their usual disco setting, while Israel picks things up again, with weird, pitch-shifting bells over dubby toms and cold chords. Final Wave restores the album to something resembling normality, with a disco-like swing that recalls Moodymanns beat-down productions slid through brutal dub-like effects that bring out a shade of strangeness in an otherwise happy groove.

The Corrs have released six studio albums and numerous singles, which have reached Platinum in many countries, and have sold 40 million albums worldwide.

    Forgiven, Not Forgotten is the debut album by The Corrs. The album was primarily produced by David Foster, with additional production by Jim Corr. It became internationally popular, but nowhere more so than their homeland, where the LP's four-times-platinum status made it one of the most popular debuts by an Irish group.

    The traditional Irish instruments like the bodhran and tin whistle add a twist to the pop melodies of tracks like the title track and The Right Time, where they are allowed some solo time. The Irish musical background of the band members is most obviously heard in Sharon Corr's violin work, used here more like a traditional Irish fiddle than a classical violin.

    The album spawned five official single releases including Forgiven Not Forgotten, Runaway, The Right Time, Love to Love You and Closer.

    Changing Light

    On her fifth solo album, Mirah breaks it down and builds it back up
    again with the street smarts that only years behind the wheel of
    love can inspire.  Ready with the maps and driven to the rhythms
    on the radio dial, Changing Light's ten songs carry us from
    heartbreak to wholeness and all the places in between.
      


    Uprooted from her home after a scorching break-up, Mirah spent
    four years rambling and recording. Tracks were laid down in almost
    two dozen houses and apartments - from the Northwest to
    Southern California to the East Coast. Sparse demos were
    recorded with co-producer Christopher Doulgeris in Portland and
    Los Angeles. Embellishments were then added by a slew of friends
    and collaborators, including Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), Mary
    Timony, Emily Wells, and Heather McEntire (Mount Moriah). In
    Philadelphia, Mirah and her sister Emily Zeitlyn (Divers) penned
    "LC," an homage to childhood inspiration Leonard Cohen.
    Seattle-based composer Jherek Bischoff drew up intricate string
    arrangements which were recorded in the living rooms of each
    individual player. And Tune-Yards producer Eli Crews
    co-produced several tracks with Mirah in her new hometown of
    Brooklyn, New York.


    Changing Light's reassuring compass is found in Mirah's
    shimmering vocals and incisive descriptions.  There is yearning
    ("Gold Rush" and "Fleetfoot Ghost") and hot anger ("Goat
    Shepherd"), but no shortage of lyrical and musical playfulness. 
    Whether it be the T. Rex-inspired rough edges of "Radiomind,"
    the rollicking lo-fi bang-and-pop of "Goat Shepherd," or the lush
    pop balladry of "Turned the Heat Off," the album corrals string
    sections and vintage synths with horns, a multitude of guitar tones
    and overdriven drums. With calm and clamor, Mirah brings us all
    closer together through her universal honesty and occasional use
    of the vocoder.


    "It's a break-up record. It has some moments of darkness, some
    twists and turns , but ultimately, there's a resolution," says Mirah. 
    So much can happen in four years, even forgiveness"


    While Mirah has been making independent pop records for well
    over a decade, Changing Light is the debut release on her new
    imprint, Absolute Magnitude Recordings.

    Tin Star, the latest album from critically lauded singer-songwriter Lindi Ortega, is released by Last Gang Records. The record follows 2012's Polaris Prize long-listed Cigarettes and Truckstops and her 2011 Juno Award-nominated debut Little Red Boots. Billboard called Cigarettes and Truckstops heartfelt and mood-inducing, a uniquely bluesy twist on pre-outlaw country while The New York Times praised Ortega for having untamed instincts, but classic bones.


    Produced by Grammy-nominated Dave Cobb (Secret Sisters, Shooter Jennings), Tin Star demonstrates the unique voice and songwriting that Ortega has come to be known for and is largely inspired by Ortega's adopted home of Nashville. Born and bred in Toronto, Ortega made the move to Music City to be closer to the musicians who inspired her. It's always my goal to raise the bar with each record I put out. I have witnessed so much talent living in Nashville that has inspired me to push myself even further, she explains. I like to work with different musicians and producers to change the feel of every release. I don't want to risk making the same record over and over.     Pivoting from the melodic psych of their previous efforts, TEEN's
    second full-length The Way And Color shows the young group
    condently shifting direction with their distinctly modern,
    R&B-informed pop.


    Searching for inspiration following their last album, the band's
    three sisters - lead singer Teeny Lieberson, keyboardist Lizzie
    Lieberson and drummer Katherine Lieberson - found direction
    from a simple lineup tweak, joining with bassist Boshra AlSaadi
    to mine a new side of the band's sound.
    What emerged was the ambitious scope of The Way And Color.
    Recorded over a ten-day session in upstate New York, the band
    infuses their brooding pop with minimalist beats and complex
    harmonies, inspired by D'Angelo and Erykah Badu's classic
    R&B.


    Amidst the album's rich patchwork, Teeny emerges as a
    expressive, inspired frontwoman, touching on themes of
    relationships, womanhood and power. The record's crisp
    production from Daniel Schlett (DIIV) showcases her voice's
    stylistic agility, from the theatrical vamping of "Rose 4 U" to the
    twisting, soulful "More Than I Ask For." Toying with genre, TEEN

    Few girl groups of the 1960s can lay claim to being as influential as The Shangri-Las. Eschewing the glitz'n'glamour of their Motown contemporaries, the group's melodramatic songs and tough girl image - often at odds with lead singer Mary's tremulous vocals - have resonated across the decades in the recordings of Blondie, Amy Winehouse and, latterly, Bat For Lashes. Comprising sisters Betty and Mary Weiss and twins Marge and Mary Ann Ganser,
    the group formed in high school in Queens, NYC in 1963 and made their Red Bird debut with producer 'Shadow' Morton's opus 'Remember (Walking In The Sand)'. Between 1964 and 1966 they charted 11 US Hot
    100 singles.


    Recorded to capitalise on their US No.1 death disc classic 'Leader Of The Pack' (penned by Ellie Greenwich & Jeff Barry), Side 1 of this mono 12-tracker brings The Shangs' distinctive sound and penchant for tear-stained heartbreak to the fore with tracks such as 'Easier To Cry' and 'What Is Love?', while Side 2 includes rough'n'ready live recordings of the Isley Brothers' 'Twist And Shout', the Phil Upchurch stomper 'You Can't Sit Down' and, harking back to their high school roots, The Chantels' 'Maybe'. The album's opener, 'Give Him A Great Big Kiss', was immediately spun off as a single, peaking at US No.18 in early 1965.


    In the wake of producer George Morton's death earlier this year this is a timely reissue by
