Looking OnLooking On is the third album by The Move, released in December 1970 and is their first LP to feature Jeff Lynne.
With Wood's use of cello and woodwinds and Lynne's piano in addition to their usual guitars and vocals, anticipating the work they would later pursue in The Electric Light Orchestra, whose debut album they were starting to record at around the same time.
The Move was effectively a dead band walking when Lynne joined in February 1970 after fronting (and producing) The Idle Race. Wood had wanted to launch a new group with Lynne that would feature rock and strings, to pick up, in theory, where the Beatles' I Am the Walrus had left off. Brontosaurus was eventually covered by Cheap Trick and Feel Too Good was later featured on the soundtrack of the movie Boogie Nights as well as in the pilot episode of the UK series Life on Mars.1. Move NowBorn near Detroit, Michigan, Marshall Crenshaw began playing guitar at age ten and he received his first break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of Beatlemania. In 1987, he played Buddy Holly in the Richie Valens biopic La Bamba. His self-titled debut album was acclaimed as a pop masterpiece upon its release in 1982 and established him as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. The record spawned the US Top 40 single Someday Someway, which rockabilly singer Robert Gordon covered and scored a hit with a year earlier, and other classics such as (You're My) Favorite Waste of Time, There She Goes Again and Cynical Girl.

Otello CartridgeHave a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.
Here is the micro-manufacturing reality:
Although most entry level cartridges from all manufacturers are machine made, ours are hand made. Even so, the reality is that when you are manufacturing something so tiny, that has to perform so well, all of them are NOT the same. If you don't see this statement from other manufacturers, then this is a secret they don't want to share, and quite understandably so.
So.....what does Soundsmith do??
We carefully hand build each and every cartridge, test them, and keep accurate records by serial number of their performance. Those that meet or exceed specifications are sold. But, there are always a few that don't measure well. What do we do with them? We don't sell them. We break them down and re-use some parts that can be used again. Does this cost real money ? You bet. But what it does do is this.....the ones that DO pass our stringent testing out-perform many cartridges selling for two, three, four, or even five times the price. Are we unabashedly proud of our hand-made cartridges??
Some ask: Moving Iron Cartridges better?? I thought that moving COIL types are the best??
Our cartridges overturn the myth that moving coil cartridges are the only path towards perfection. After all, what is the accepted "advantage" of moving coil cartridges? Low effective moving mass, right? Well, we've got less. Much less. And if you understand EFFECTIVE moving mass, Less IS more. Why is that good? Because when you lower the moving system mass, it's easier to control. If it's easier to control, the stylus can stay in better contact with the groove walls. That's good, because if you can't stay in contact with the groove walls, you can't hear what's on the record.
Is a high gain moving coil preamp required? No. The Otello" is designed to be used with a Moving Magnet preamp. No step-up transformers. No finicky multi-stage ultra high gain preamp required. Less is more here, too.

The Way We MoveThe Way We Move, the new album from acclaimed musician Langhorne Slim will see its release on Ramseur Records. The album follows-up his critically acclaimed 2009 release Be Set Free which Paste says, perfectly captures the lyrical simplicity of bygone times with straightforward lines. In celebration of the release, Langhorne Slim & The Law will continue to tour throughout 2012.
The 14-track album was produced by Kenny Siegal and Langhorne Slim & The Law at Old Soul Studios in Catskill, NY. Langhorne's band, The Law, consists of David Moore (piano/keyboards/banjos/electric guitar/vocals), Jeffrey Ratner (bass/background vocals) and Malachi DeLorenzo (drums/percussion/background vocals).
Of the new album, Langhorne comments, My goal for this record was to create something that we could stand by and be proud of for the rest of our lives. To make music that is real, raw and beautiful. Langhorne Slim began his musical career in Brooklyn in 2004. His previous releases include Electric Love Letter EP (2004), When The Sun's Gone Down (2005), Engine EP (2006), Langhorne Slim (2008) and his latest, Be Set Free (2009). The Spirit MovesSometimes, truth can't be explained. But it can be felt, running wild through a song. "I don't want to tame myself. I want to be wild," says Langhorne Slim. "If I can continue to refine the wildness but never suffocate or tame it, then I'm on the right path. Because it is a path. I feel it." The Spirit Moves is Langhorne's newest artistic attempt to refine the wildness. The result is an effervescent collection of his now-signature, cinematic, joyful noise, rooted in folk, soul, and blues. The album marks his second with rock-solid band The Law, and the highly anticipated follow-up to 2012's critically acclaimed The Way We Move.1. Spirit Moves

We MoveWritten in constant transition - and recorded between Toronto, Dublin and London - 'We Move' is James Vincent McMorrow's most expansive, generous and ambitious record to date. There is, on the other hand, something more stripped-back - vulnerable, even - surfacing for the first time: far from the dense, protective imagery at the heart of 'Post Tropical', 'We Move' is ultimately a record open in its portrait of anxiety and social unease. For McMorrow, it's about celebrating mental fragility - and how we move forward in life - rather than "people listening to my songs and believing that I'm out in the forest all day long, thinking about trees. Because I'm actually at home, trying to convince myself to go out and get milk."
The first steps to 'We Move' took place in 2014, when James - having been asked to write for different artists' projects - started sketching out ideas for others on tour (and subsequently stopped over-analysing his own work). Intent on doing the opposite of everything he'd done thus far, McMorrow then came off the road, but kept exploring: first through Barcelona, then Canada, and stopping in Los Angeles for six particularly fish-out-of-water months, where the songs for the album crystallised. He returned to Dublin determined not to just produce another album himself, but to work with people who could articulate the unique world he heard in his head ("I grew up wanting to write songs like Neil Young but produce them like The Neptunes"). And so James reached out to a few key co-producers he'd met whilst travelling, who formed the backbone of 'We Move': namely, Nineteen85 (Drake, DVSN), Two Inch Punch (Sam Smith, Years & Years), and Frank Dukes (Kanye West, Rihanna). Mixing took place largely in Miami with one of McMorrow's all-time heroes, Jimmy Douglass - known for his work from Donny Hathaway through to Timbaland - who finessed the record's warm, vintage yet forward-thinking feel.
The result is an album about movement - geographically, mentally, emotionally - which remains focused on finding your place in that future. First track 'Rising Water' is starkly-produced and skyscraper-sized in its sense of catharsis ("I never once was sad for what I've done"): 'Evil', meanwhile, questions whether you might in fact be a bad person, because you don't see life the way other people do (its tone is celebratory rather than ominous, however). Heavier still is 'I Lie Awake Every Night', which sees James address for the first time the eating disorder he has battled since he was a child ("it's about lying in hospital when I was a kid, thinking I shouldn't be there, and trying to reconcile those two things"). 'We Move' reacts against McMorrow's instincts to obscure ideas such as this, and ultimately embraces a shared, collective awkwardness, and the idea that maybe we're all putting on a brave face in some way.
Beginning with Rising Water, 'We Move' continues a remarkable journey for the Dublin-born singer and songwriter, whose early work offered little clue as to the sounds and situations that would follow. It's a remarkably assured collection, informed by this idea that you might not have to listen to others when they tell you how they think life is supposed to go; and that as you grow up, you lose things along the way. Rather, 'We Move' suggests it's possible to keep what you want to keep, and lose what you want to lose.1. Rising Water

Infectious Grooves is a funk metal supergroup led by Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir. It also features former Excel guitarist Adam Siegel, ex-Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo (now in Metallica), and Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins.

Mountain MovesThis is no time for the tortured artist. Right now, we're living in two worlds at once. The first is a death-driven monoculture: cutthroat, cynical, exploitative, literally deranged. This is the dominant, unlistening world, the unmoved mountain. Then there's the other world: the still-breathing, idealistic, and wholly life-affirming underground.
Mountain Moves is a celebration of the under-sung communities that have nourished us with their joy, their energy, their individualism, their pointless beauty.Starring the singing, playing, and songwriting of guests whose musical and political voices we admire, Mountain Moves is partly an ecstatic snapshot of a would-be utopia.
Fragmentation is more than an aesthetic. One moment your head's exploding over the stupidity and sadism of our leaders and systems, the next your favorite singer has just emailed you a vocal track recorded in their hotel room on tour. Mountain Moves explores the extremes of despair and hope that make up so much of our minute-to-minute experience.
We met a lot of crowds this year, at Brazilian music festivals, arena shows, protests. The power and potential of a crowd is like music itself - inspiring, healing, urgent. We made Mountain Moves fast, in hopes of capturing some of that communal energy. Please dance and sing along.

You Better Move / It's You I'll MissPressed On Translucent Red Vinyl
Tampa, Florida legends the Tropics released a stack of great records in the sixties. But none of those singles is more coveted by garage collectors than their '66 masterpiece, "You Better Move;" a tambourine-bashing, harmonica-wailin,' epic screamer. With its super-threatening lyrics, delivered in a pathologically aggravated state by Tropics lead vocalist Mel Dryer, this record serves as a master class in anger mismanagement. "You Better Move, incidentally, was co-penned by guitarist Buddy Pendergrass and a former Tropic, Dave Burke (who soon appeared on two Standells albums on Tower). B-side "It's You I'll Miss" finds the versatile Tropics in a Byrds bag; with a jangly, expertly-sung original. This Sundazed single places the Tropics at the top of the list of '66 garage bands, from Florida or any corner of the US of A.1. You Better Move
