StitchesStitches, the new album from Califone, touches on all permutable definitions of the word, its episodes of discomfort and healing rendered with exquisite beauty and craftsmanship. Archetypes and mythological figures rub shoulders with bruised civilians throughout this odyssey. Intimate timbres, garage sale drum machines, slack guitar strings and hushed vocals offset the album's cinematic inclinations. The listener moves through a landscape of Old Testament blood and guts, spaghetti Western deserts and Southwestern horizons, zeroing in on emotions and images that cannot be glanced over.1. We Stitch These Wounds (Awaiting Repress)Be yourself and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, says Andy 6, lead singer of Black Veil Brides. CoranachWere there a United Nations of Punk, the trilateral union of nationalities in Cross Stitched Eyes would make an excellent security council. Not only do they collaborate across American, German, and English boundaries, but they would probably scare rogue nations into submission.
Rightly compared to Amebix, Rudimentary Peni, and Killing Joke, Cross Stitched Eyes, formed in 2005, breathe new life into the anarcho-crust genre. Drummer and vo- calist Jason Willer played in Lookout Records' Enemies (with Dave Ed of Neurosis), The UK Subs, and Drain the Sky; guitarist Tim Crow was in Sworn Liars, Zygote, Bad Influence, and Smart Pils; and guitarist Chris Hutto played in Black Mass. Rounding out the rhythmic pedigree is bassist Mr. Stevie of Tourette Syndrome and Anger of Bacteria, plus Subhumans (UK) drummer Trotsky. All this name-dropping and reference-checking only matters insofar as the music kicks ass with a steel-toed boot.
After releasing a 7-inch on Ruin Nation and an album on Active, Cross Stitched Eyes pack fourteen short but perfectly compact songs together for their Alternative Tentacles debut. Unafraid to let loose with noise damage on Substance or get melodic with Breath of Lies, the band shows a diversity of styles on Coranach. Dirgey and doom-y elements abound and the sound quality surpasses the muddy fidelity of the band's predecessors.

DecompositionDecomposition, the second full-length by US/UK/German collective Cross Stitched Eyes, follows in the tradition of anarchist punk and death rock (Rudimentary Peni, Cortex, The Mob, Killing Joke). Embracing the many irrational and visceral shades of this style's darkest corners, the album decidedly rejects traditional copy-and-paste guidelines of musical conformity with a puncturing attitude.
The harsher side of Cross Stitched Eyes derives directly from the band's artistic influences and its deconstructed presentation. Decomposition's leadoff track "We Follow" evokes reactions to seemingly unchanging lifestyles with a vitriolic diatribe. Others like "Animated Corpse" and "Earth's Defiant" display a lyrical depth seldom heard these days. At times benign, at others aggressive, Decomposition explores the complicated relationship between dark and light.
Cross Stitched Eyes features members of Zygote, Alaric, U.K. Subs, Smart Pills, Anger of Bacteria and Endrophobia. Don't judge them by their other activities because they all bring a special component to this multinational collective. Tim Shapland produces all the band's recordings and captures the urgency of their sound; he also shreds on the guitar. Jason Willer drives the beat and his vocals shape the songs, leading with the direction of an intuitive scavenger on the hunt. Steve Daniel anchors the low-end rhythmic components with an industrious attitude that is uniquely his own.1. We Follow

ADAD-KRE-2516xThe Curious Mystery
We CreelingThe Curious Mystery stitch together 60s-styled psychedlia with smoky garage guitars, Eastern drones, and dynamic, post-soul experimentation; a new gospel. 2009s Rotting Slowly was a true debut album: a journey into new landscapes, charting the depths of canyons. With the release of We Creeling, The Curious Mystery are no longer that mysterious stranger in town; theyve left the bluffs and entered the valley.
We Creeling was recorded in 2010 by Karl Blau and features the vocal/guitar tandem of Shana Cleveland and Nicolas Gonzalez. Since releasing Rotting Slowly and completing two US tours, The Curious Mystery have expanded the seating capacity of their dinner table to include other weary travelers on this recording: Blau adding percussion, Bradford Button on bass, Gabriel Will (The Hive Dwellers) on violin, Andrew Dorsett (LAKE) on piano and Kristian Garrard (Thousands) on drums.1. Black Veil BridesLos Angeles based rockers Black Veil Brides are back with their fourth studio album, self-titled.
The new album was produced by studio legend Bob Rock, known for producing some of rock's most successful albums including Metallica's Black Album
and Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood. The 11 track album features some of the band's most aggressive and diverse songs to date. The album opener and
debut single Heart Of Fire is an upbeat rocker that showcases the band's signature dual-guitar attack and driving rhythm section all behind a positive
lyrical message the band has become known for.
The album cover was designed by longtime friend and previous album cover illustrator, Richard Villa.
Black Veil Brides have been continually building momentum and expanding their ever-growing "BVB Army" since the release of their first album We Stitch
These Wounds. Their debut song "Knives And Pens" has been viewed over 100 million times on YouTube. The band have also released critically-acclaimed albums: Set The World On Fire and Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones respectively. Their last release landed at #7 on the
Billboard 200 selling over 42,000 copies its first week. Black Veil Brides recently won an award at the inaugural Alternative Press Music Award in

Remastered By Guitarist J. Yuenger

Includes 108 Page Book
Years before Beavis and Butt-head headbanged "Thunder
Kiss '65" and "More Human than Human" into the
eternal rock video canon, there was primordial White
Zombie-a quintessential, diabolically loud byproduct
of Manhattan's underground rock scene, born of artschool
rendezvous and squalid apartment circumstance.
It Came from N.Y.C. is the most exhaustive attempt so
far to document the band's wondrously ugly birth. Get
reintroduced to White Zombie as New York noise-rock,
a grotesque creation that clawed and threatened its way to
crossover metal glory.
Numero resurrects White Zombie's
eternally out-of-print early EPs and LPs as It Came From
N.Y.C. Spread across five LPs , all
39 tracks have been remastered by guitarist J. Yuenger
and packaged alongside the original lurid artwork. The
accompanying 108-page book painstakingly documents
White Zombie's punishing progression through
scores of unpublished photos, period discography, a
T-shirtography, and tales from the terrifying early years
that stitch together the sordid story of a band whose true
power eclipsed its mainstream heyday. White Zombie lives.

The Smashing Pumpkins' career-defining 1995 double album Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness has earned Diamond certification by the RIAA for sales of 10,000,000 discs and digital equivalent per disc (5 million copies of the double album). This news comes in the midst of EMI Music's extensive reissue campaign honoring the legacy of the iconic alternative band. It continues December 3 in North America and December 4 internationally with the Pumpkins' fourth album Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness receiving the fully remastered treatment for the first time. This follows last year's acclaimed reissues of the band's groundbreaking first two albums, Gish (1991) and Siamese Dream (1993), as well as this past summer's Pisces Iscariot (1994), the band's third album.
Originally released October 24, 1995, Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness would debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified 9x platinum by the RIAA. It yielded major hits like ''Bullet With Butterfly Wings''-the band's unlikely first Top 40 hit-the exquisite ''1979'' and epic ''Tonight, Tonight'' as well as a thoroughly inspired series of videos. Produced by BILLY CORGAN, Flood and Alan Moulder, the album would also earn a Grammy Award (1996 Best Hard Rock Performance for ''Bullet With Butterfly Wings'') as well as seven nominations. Beyond the more obvious hits, though, Mellon Collie is a song cycle of unusual depth and considerable range. It is a collection of stunningly beautiful moments when everything lined up--a moment in time that's still here to be treasured.1. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

CoveredTen years ago, a 22 year old songwriter entered a recording studio with producer Tucker Martine (My
Morning Jacket, Neko Case, Beth Orton) to make a record.
Poised with one of the greatest talents for carrying Appalachian music into new places, Sarah Siskind
penned a record in which every moment, every stitch thread perfectly. Recorded to 2-inch analog tape, Covered is a masterful record, in which American music and guitar icon, and one of Sarah's musical heroes, Bill Frisell plays a key role.
But amid plans for a national release, sinus illness struck and multiple surgeries followed, and Covered was instead released independently on a much smaller scale than originally planned. With little tour and press support, the album never earned its place in the hearts it could have...
A few years later, by chance, I came across a copy of Covered while digging into Frisell's catalog, for I also have a deep admiration for the music icon and couldn't get enough of his work. Looking back, I had no idea how much this album would shake me down; it quickly earned its place in my heart. I listened so much from then on that I wore out several copies, all the while pondering how such an amazing record could go largely unnoticed by the masses.
Four years passed, Sarah fully recovered from her sinus issues and set her sights high once again. She
went on to record her much lauded boutique double EP Studio.Living Room and followed it with widely-acclaimed Say it Louder, which earned her 2009 Nashville Music Awards' "Americana Album
of the Year." As she gained more and more attention, writing songs for Alison Krauss and the like, I listened along but still continued to wear out Covered, bewildered as to why it still wasn't grabbing more people with its poise.
Finally, yet still overdue, we at Chigliak give you Covered, reissued and released for the first time on
vinyl. Listen and let it shake you down.

PyramidsNow, several years since its initial release, Pyramids first collection of songs resounds like a communique from a far off galaxy. It could be the music made by Martian interpreters who somehow intercepted and reconfigured the decaying din emanating from the charred surface of Planet Earth.
The resultant impressions sound like cut up fever dream tape loops containing snippets of Xasthur, Tangerine Dream and Mazzy Star layered over, under and through each other. The aural pictures are at once terrifying and soothing, familiar and wholly alien. What seems like it shouldn't does in fact work: black metal blasting stitched together with patches of gauzy melody and angelic warbling. It's one of the most enveloping and simultaneously disorienting documents to have emerged from the hazy outer territories of the heavy music underground in years.
Despite the numerous musical mutations that have sprung up around it since its initial release, Pyramids debut still sounds far beyond the horizons of anything concocted by modern musical scientists. Perhaps through a process of reversed time flow, Pyramids have brought the sounds of the future into our present moment, speculative fiction in aural form. It's hard to say whether we should be reassured or terrified by their findings, but it's safe to say adventurous listeners can't afford to ignore prophetic visions such as these.1. Sleds

Three-FourThree-Four is a collection of three EP's (plus extra bonus material) made by the band The Shipping News (commonly referred to as RMSN) and originally released in 2003 via Quarterstick Records. The project grew from the desire to take a different approach to making songs and recordings.
The rules were each band member (Kyle Crabtree, Jeff Mueller, Jason Noble) would record one solo song per EP. They would make songs quickly and with little preconception; open to whatever ideas arrived in a short time period and document them almost immediately. These would be made without talking to each other about content or style then assembled later. The three EPs would be released over the course of one year. This would happen while they worked on their next full album together, and some of the EP material would be reworked as band music eventually.
The series was limited to 1,000 copies per EP, which allowed for the packaging to be handmade. Kerri Sancomb and Jeff Mueller designed, printed, and stitched each copy personally.
In such a limited quantity these special EP's became highly sought-after pieces, and each EP sold out soon after it was released.
This collection includes all of the songs that appeared on each EP, and as an added bonus it also includes three entirely new songs exclusive to Three-Four. PridjeviPridjevi is the recording project of Dino Santaleza , Ivana Picek & Nina Romic; a trio of Croatian songwriters who formed the band on a lark, trading ideas & songs over email until birthing what would become Pridjevi's debut album. After releasing it via Bandcamp in the spring of 2014 as a digital-only release, the album caught the ears of Trouble In Mind who present it here in the vinyl & compact disc format. Pridjevi's s/t debut is a dizzyingly psychedelic magnum-opus & a stunning debut, stitching together a seemingly disparate range of inspirations such as psychedelia, acid rock, baroque pop, Tropicalia, and Eastern ragas into an addictivel listenable whole. The band sings entirely in Croation, but the melodies & songs carry the entire weight of the album, holding the listener's attention until the last note is struck. Pridjevi's tunes feel almost like rock devotionals to a higher spirit; heavy, hypnotic & wholly unique. The band has evolved into a fully functional live unit, playing shows & festivals in Europe, building a solid fanbase, particularly in their native country, where the band has already been featured in Rolling Stone & beyond.1. The Healing ComponentWhen Chicago MC Mick Jenkins first broke out onto the national hip-hop scene with his 2014 mixtape The Water[s], fans embraced the thoughtful new voice for his ability to hold a mirror up to society -- and himself -- and deliver unflinchingly honest reflections in his baritone style over a sonic palette as deep as his lyrical metaphors. But The Water[s] also laid out a thesis statement of sorts, an emphasis on healing and love instead of anger and violence that carried through his next project, the EP Wave[s], and surfaces again fully-formed on his debut album, The Healing Component, out soon via Cinematic Music Group.
To Jenkins, 25, the titular healing component isn't THC -- the element of marijuana that produces its high -- as the acronym of the album suggests, but love, a concept explored throughout the album and anchored by the single, Spread Love. The project is stitched together through a series of skits, or more accurately conversations, on the nature and meaning of love for individual people, fleshed out and discussed in a way that's reminiscent of the classroom interludes that pepper The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. But it's not just romantic or familial love that he explores throughout the album's 15 tracks. It's also about love in all the different ways it manifests itself: It's all-encompassing, he says, Because it's something that I intend to talk about for a while in different ways. - Dan Rys (Billboard.com)1. True SadnessTrue Sadness is a patchwork quilt, both thematically and stylistically. Wherein a myriad of contrasting fabrics make perfect sense on the same plane, this album draws upon countless resources from its writers and performers. To further propel the expansive color and textural fields of the record, we are blessed to play and perform music with a group of musicians who possess not only great talent, but great interpretive ability. They are an extension of our family and their care for the work at hand (and the project at large) informs a dynamic musical contribution to any piece we proudly give our last name. Sonically, the album is as multidimensional as its makers. The same could be said of its long list of influences. So the quilt is sewn, in part, with the brightly colored threads of Queen, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Jimmie Rodgers, Tom Petty, Nine Inch Nails, Gillian Welch, Aretha Franklin, Walt Disney, Pink Floyd, Kings of Convenience, calypso of the 1950s and country of the 1930s. Rock and roll is here, as always. There are moments of undeniable celebration and camaraderie, others of quiet and lonely exhalation. Throughout the album, we stitched together the boldest red and the calmest green, polka dots and stripes, the roughest denim and the smoothest velveteen. They came together because they are the best patterns we have and because each of us brought our own fabric to the quilting frame.
We made this record as people who have made records together before - with experienced hands, appreciative hearts, renewed focus, and the knowledge of our good fortune to make music once again.

Trouble Is A Lonesome TownTHRIFTSTORE MASTERPIECE is a revolving music collective devoted to paying homage to the
underdog records of years past. The debut album revisits Lee Hazlewood's 1963 lost classic Trouble
Is A Lonesome Town and features Pete Yorn, Frank Black (Pixies), Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse),
Courtney Taylor-Taylor (The Dandy Warhols), Eddie Argos (Art Brut), the late Larry Norman and more.
In 1963, Lee Hazlewood released his debut album Trouble is a Lonesome Town to little fanfare. It
was a collection of solo acoustic songs stitched together with a narrative that described life in a
fictional small town inhabited by outlaws, thieves, and down-and-out laborers. The album was hokey,
but hip. Corny, but cool. It evoked a bygone era of pastoral American towns and their sometimes seedy underbellies, somewhat like a darker version of the Andy Griffith Show or a more sinister
Prairie Home Companion. More importantly, it was a fully realized concept album that predated
the trend that is so common in today' s music world. Hazlewood had originally intended the songs
as demos for his publisher, in hopes that other artists might someday record them. A half century
later, the music collective known as THRIFTSTORE MASTERPIECE has done exactly that.
Producer I band leader Charles Normal explains I first came across the record around the turn of the
millennium while living in Oslo, Norway. I found it in a secondhand junk shop and it struck a nostalgic
note somewhere within me. It made me homesick for the panoply of Americana I had experienced
while slumming it in the Southwestern border towns and California desert whistle stops I drifted
through when I first started playing music on the road. The record didn't leave my turntable for
months. Years later, I started to envision the record as a more orchestrated statement and began
recording the basic tracks in my studio.
My brother, singer Larry Norman, lent his voice to a couple of the tracks, but when he passed away
from a heart attack in 2008 I fell into a deep funk and put the project on the back burner. I couldn't
bring myself to harmonize with his vocals ... it was just too emotional to deal with. It wasn't until much
later, prompted in part by Isaac Brock, that I dusted off the tapes and hard drives and began to finish
it. I went through my address book and started calling friends who happened to be in possession of
great voices to see if they were interested in joining in.1. Long Black Train - featuring Frank Black

For well over a decade, DevontÉ Hynes has proven himself a virtuoso of versatility, experimenting with
almost every conceivable musical genre under a variety of monikers. After moving to New York City in
the mid-2000s, Hynes became Blood Orange, plumming the oeuvres of the city's musical legends to
create a singular style of urgent, delicate pop music. Freetown Sound, which follows 2011's Coastal
Grooves and 2013's breakthrough Cupid Deluxe, builds upon everything Hynes has done as an artist,
resulting in the most expansive artistic statement of his career.
Drawing from a deep well of techniques
and references, the album unspools like a piece of theater, evoking unexpected communions of moods,
voices, and eras. Freetown Sound derives its name from the birthplace of Hynes' father, the capital of
Sierra Leone. Thematically, it is profoundly personal and unapologetically political, touching on issues of
race, religion, sex, and sexism over 17 shimmering songs. Each song echoes into another, with leitmotifs
carefully stitched throughout, yielding a sound palette that gently recalls elastic funk, slinky R&B, and
pure pop, but resisting easy categorization.
For Hynes, the process of self-discovery involved in creating Freetown Sound proved as valuable as the
finished product. "This record really tries to say things that I've been wanting to express for many years,"
he says. "It looks into my childhood and examines who I am at this point in my life. There are so many
crazy layers to it that it's actually quite hard to talk about it, but the record is very reflective of how my
brain works. It's been very interesting for me trying to understand and tie all of these things together. It's
been a way of working through it."LP 1

Kind Of Blue (Box Set) (Awaiting Repress) (On Sale)Ranked 12/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time
Best-Selling Album in Jazz History Receives the Prestigious Mobile Fidelity Treatment: Mastered from the Original Master Tapes
Mobile Fidelity 180 gram 45RPM 2LP Box Set is Definitive Analog Version and Intended to Be Passed on to Generations
If There's a Stairway to Heaven, This is the Soundtrack: Epochal 1959 Record the Mt. Rushmore of Jazz Sessions
Dream Team of Davis, Adderley, Coltrane, Evans, Kelly, Chambers, Cobb Make History
How does one properly introduce an epochal record? Perhaps by unequivocally stating that it is the best-selling jazz album in history. Or by affirming that, every year, it sells tens of thousands of copies more than five decades after its original release. Theres also the matter of its status as the most-referenced, and arguably, most important, jazz recording of all-time. And the Dream Team lineup of Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb. Yes, Kind of Blue is utterly inimitable.
Part of Mobile Fidelity's Miles Davis catalog restoration series, the landmark has been given the ultimate white-gloves treatment. Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, and pressed on 45RPM LPs at RTI, this sumptuous box set of the often-reissued album is a must for even fans that already possess multiple versions. Such is the illuminating transparency, reference dynamics, organic warmth, and instrumental detail exposed by the thoroughly scrupulous mastering process. If there's a stairway to heaven, this is the soundtrack.
In its three-decade-plus history, Mobile Fidelity has never been prouder to have the honor of handling efforts as important as Davis key recordings. Its why the labels engineers took every available measure to transport listeners to the March and April 1959 sessions that parlayed modal jazz into mainstream language. The blueprint for melodic improvisation and vamping, Kind of Blue simplifies tonal organization and chordal progression into an eminently beautiful, introspective tapestry stitched with swinging poetry, mellifluous soloing, compositional lyricism, transcendental harmonies, and group interplay of the highest caliber.
While no one has ever completely identified the magic behind the records allure the otherworldly nature is part of its inherent charm much of the success lies with the band members. Davis intentionally handpicked these musicians to comprise this particular cast, with everyone from former foil Evans to blues maestro Kelly to percussive genius Cobb interacting and reacting with peerless skill.
An audiophile favorite from the day it was issued, Kind of Blue takes on nirvanic sonic proportions via Mobile Fidelitys reissue. The expressive warmth, imaging clarity, frequency extension, and window-on-the-world breadth afforded by this new edition places music lovers right in the studio with the sextet. Close your eyes and, no matter how many times you may have heard it before, your experience will parallel that of the players that recorded these gems. Everyone shares in the excitement of not knowing what will happen and, as the music begins to lie out in front of you, you'll feel as if you've been whisked away to a jazz holy land. Quintessential.

New Morning (On Sale)Sublime 1970 Album Among Loosest, Jovial of Dylan's Career
Includes Hit Single If Not for You and The Man In Me, Featured in the Film The Big Lebowski
Dylan's Phrasing and Piano Playing Parallel Efforts of His Crack Backing Band
Stunning Reissue Boasts Phenomenally Open Sound: New Morning Has Never Enjoyed Better Fidelity
The album might have saved Bob Dylan's career. At the least, it proved the icon still relevant, and his wits still in tact. And it immediately followed what remains the artist's biggest disaster, the yet-unexplained and forever puzzling Self Portrait, a nearly unlistenable attempt that caused many to wonder whether Dylan had lost his mind. If intended as a joke, it bombed, making the sublime New Morning all the more important to restore faith in the singer's creativity and songwriting prowess. It did all this and more, and stands as his finest studio effort during a five-year span.
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI, this restored analog version spotlights the open, woozy sound that welcomes wholeheartedly Dylan's piano, several eager guitars, female background singers, Al Kooper's organ, and snappy drumming into a world of their own. New Morning remains one of Dylan's loosest and jovial affairs, the instruments retaining an off-the-cuff sensibility relating to a nightclub atmosphere or live stage feel. On this reissue, notes naturally dangle and fade, allowing the playful vibes and humor to come through like never before. Consequently, the album can be experienced with a new perspective. Wider grooves mean more information reaches your ears.
"Many of the songs seem to have been made up on the spot, with confidence in the ability of first-rate musicians to move in any direction at any time," wrote Dylan expert and cultural critic Greil Marcus in his original review for the New York Times. "The riffs, inventions, and studio jams of New Morning have their own personality the full joy of anticipating the right move and the exhilaration of hitting it square and bouncing off a chord into a new lyric."
These observations hold true today, for the 1970 effort claims a daring flair Dylan rarely exhibited on albums before or since. Enthusiasm and excitement surround his singing, and his work on the 88s underlines the liberating arrangements. Offbeat and eclectic, the record frolics and swings, with the Bard and his crack band pursuing jazzy steps ("Sign on the Window"), shuffling spoken-word experiments ("If Dogs Run Free"), and soulful rock ("The Man In Me," used to wonderful and prominent effect in the Coen Brothers film The Big Lebowski).
Throughout, Dylan's phrasing communicates joyousness and simplicity seemingly carried over from the stripped-down John Wesley Harding and Nashville Skyline. The record's dominant sentiments trace to the lead track, "If Not For You," one of the singer's all-time greatest singles, stitched with country threads and warmth that pervades everything that follows. Yes, New Morning may lack the iconic status of some of Dylan's better-known records. Yet the underdog stature makes repeat listens all the more rewarding.
