    Someday World

Brian Eno and Karl Hyde (of Underworld) come together with a new album to be released this May on Warp Records. This is the first vocal/band project from Eno since 2008's David Byrne collaboration. Someday World comprises nine songs, composed and sung by Eno & Hyde together with a highly distinguished cast of supporting musicians, including Eno's Roxy Music bandmate Andy Mackay, Tessa Angus, Nell Catchpole, Marianna Champion, Will Champion, Kasia Daszykowska, Don E., Darla Eno, Georgia Gibson, John Reynolds and Chris Vatalaro. Following his 2013 Grammy nominated album LUX, Brian Eno produced this new album with 20 year old Fred Gibson, and continues an ongoing collaboration between Hyde & Eno which sees the two together on a complete album for the first time. "I had a big collection of 'beginnings' sitting around waiting for something to galvanise them into life, to make them more than just 'experiments'. That something turned out to be Karl Hyde." -Brian Eno

    Chasing Someday

Seven years ago, when Drew Holcomb graduated from college in Knoxville, TN he never expected he would spend his twenties touring the country playing music, but that is exactly what he and his band, the Neighbors, have been doing since coming together in 2006. Since that time, they have secured placements on shows like Parenthood, Army Wives and The Cleaner while selling over 35,000 records all without the help of a label. A devoted fan base has fueled the anticipation for this career defining album, Chasing Someday. USA Today calls Holcomb Soulful folk-rock and these 12 sides don't disappoint.

After John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderly left the 'quintet', Miles Davis was forced to search for new qualified musicians. He found them in Hank Mobley, Wynton Kelly, Jimmy Cobb and Paul Chambers. In 1961, just two years after recording Kind Of Blue, Miles and his new line up started recording energetically and finished Someday My Prince Will Come after only three days.

This album is a cross-over from Kind Of Blue, which is known for the typical Miles Davis-tunes, to traditional pop-standards such as the eponymous title track from Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs.

A beautiful addition to the Davis canon. Recorded over the course of three days in April 1961, Someday My Prince Will Come showcases Miles' second great rhythm section, here at the absolute peak of their telepathic interplay. Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb were as tight a unit as any ever formed, grooving so successfully that they went on to leave Miles and form the Wynton Kelly trio. Someday My Prince Will Come also includes some positively blistering solos from guest John Coltrane in his final recording with Miles. And Hank Mobley offers up some beautiful bluesy solos.

    From the Cradle

The full-tilt blues album that Clapton had been promising for years, From the Cradle proves the guitarist's enduring devotion to a form he had long relegated to merely a flavor in his music rather than the main ingredient. Clapton's singing on the album is somewhat mannered; he tries to compete with original versions of these songs by Muddy Waters, Charles Brown, and others, and there's no way he's going to win that battle. Still, you can feel the emotional connection Clapton has with these songs, and guitar aficionados will swoon over his fretwork on songs such as Third Degree, Someday After a While, and the incendiary Groanin' the Blues. --Daniel Durchholz

    High Life

Written and recorded across a series of recording sessions in April of 2014 (some of which were open to selected media from around the world), none of the music on High Life existed before Someday World was completed! The resulting record, at 6 tracks and 45 minutes, is the clearest expression yet of the 'Reichkuti' (Steve Reich meets Fela Kuti) direction that first brought the Eno Hyde collaboration into being. And as the polyrhythms and melodies build, swirl and syncopate, the album feels truly alive with the energy of this time in the studio. High Life reunites Eno and Hyde with the 20 year old producer/multi-instrumentalist Fred Gibson, previous Eno-collaborator Leo Abrahams on guitar, drummer Chris Vatalaro, and keyboardist Don E. Taken alongside Someday World, it provides a fascinating insight in to how consistent influences can lead to very different but connected music, and continues to tell the story of two iconic musicians collaborating and exploring together. We look forward to seeing how fans select their own favorites across the two albums.

Born near Detroit, Michigan, Marshall Crenshaw began playing guitar at age ten and he received his first break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of Beatlemania. In 1987, he played Buddy Holly in the Richie Valens biopic La Bamba. His self-titled debut album was acclaimed as a pop masterpiece upon its release in 1982 and established him as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. The record spawned the US Top 40 single Someday Someway, which rockabilly singer Robert Gordon covered and scored a hit with a year earlier, and other classics such as (You're My) Favorite Waste of Time, There She Goes Again and Cynical Girl.

    The Magic Door

The fruits of the band's hard-charging January of 2012 recording session with producer Thom Monahan are heard not only on Big Moon Ritual but in its companion album The Magic Door, set for release in the fall of 2012. Each album spotlights seven tunes, with The Magic Door containing six originals: Someday Past The Sunset, Vibration & Light Suite, Appaloosa, Little Lizzie Mae, Sorrows of a Blue Eyed Liar and Wheel Don't Roll plus a cover of Hank Ballard's Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go, a CRB set list staple.

Chris Robinson (lead, vocals, guitar), Neal Casal (guitar, vocals), Adam MacDougall (keys, vocals), George Sluppick (drums) and Mark Dutton (bass, vocals) create exciting musical sparks throughout The Magic Door. We really feel these records set the stage for another full year, where we'll see how far we can go with it, says Robinson. We already feel successful because we have the freedom to do what we want. Crenshaw's music still pops with the same rootsy authority as it did back when record albums were the preferred delivery system of rock 'n' roll and a tweet was a tweet. - The Huffington Post

Marshall Crenshaw is best known as the writer and performer of such timeless classics as Someday Someway, (You're My Favorite) Waste Of Time and There She Goes Again. He has also written the Top 10 single Til I Hear It From You for the Gin Blossoms and the title song for the film Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story which received both a Grammy and a Golden Globe nomination.

He appeared in the films La Bamba (as Buddy Holly) and Francis Ford Coppola's Peggy Sue Got Married. Crenshaw can be heard on his own radio show, The Bottomless Pit on New York's WFUV.

Crenshaw's most recent project has been a popular and critically acclaimed series of 10 vinyl EPs sold individually. Each EP contains a new song, a cover song, and a re-make of one of Crenshaw's own classics. His fourth EP, Red Wine, features the great new title song as well as a cover of James McMurtry' Right Here Now and a re-make of Crenshaw's classic Delilah.

Darkness was my 'samurai' record, Springsteen writes, stripped to the frame and ready to rumble." But the music that got left behind was substantial. For the first time, fans will have access to 21 previously-unreleased songs from the Darkness recording sessions, songs that, as Springsteen writes, perhaps could have/should have been released after Born To Run and before the collection of songs that Darkness on the Edge of Town became.

Highlights include the extraordinary rock version of Racing in the Street, the never-before-released original recordings of Because the Night, Fire, and Rendezvous, the supreme pop opus Someday (We'll Be Together), the hilarious Ain't Good Enough for You, the superb soul-based vocal performance on The Broken Hearted, the utterly haunting Breakaway, and the now finally released, fully orchestrated masterpiece and title song, The Promise. All 21 songs have been mixed by Springsteen's long-time collaborator, Bob Clearmountain. According to long-time manager/producer Jon Landau, There isn't a weak card in this deck. Trouble Is A Lonesome Town

THRIFTSTORE MASTERPIECE is a revolving music collective devoted to paying homage to the
underdog records of years past. The debut album revisits Lee Hazlewood's 1963 lost classic Trouble
Is A Lonesome Town and features Pete Yorn, Frank Black (Pixies), Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse),
Courtney Taylor-Taylor (The Dandy Warhols), Eddie Argos (Art Brut), the late Larry Norman and more.

In 1963, Lee Hazlewood released his debut album Trouble is a Lonesome Town to little fanfare. It
was a collection of solo acoustic songs stitched together with a narrative that described life in a
fictional small town inhabited by outlaws, thieves, and down-and-out laborers. The album was hokey,
but hip. Corny, but cool. It evoked a bygone era of pastoral American towns and their sometimes seedy underbellies, somewhat like a darker version of the Andy Griffith Show or a more sinister
Prairie Home Companion. More importantly, it was a fully realized concept album that predated
the trend that is so common in today' s music world. Hazlewood had originally intended the songs
as demos for his publisher, in hopes that other artists might someday record them. A half century
later, the music collective known as THRIFTSTORE MASTERPIECE has done exactly that.

Producer I band leader Charles Normal explains I first came across the record around the turn of the
millennium while living in Oslo, Norway. I found it in a secondhand junk shop and it struck a nostalgic
note somewhere within me. It made me homesick for the panoply of Americana I had experienced
while slumming it in the Southwestern border towns and California desert whistle stops I drifted
through when I first started playing music on the road. The record didn't leave my turntable for
months. Years later, I started to envision the record as a more orchestrated statement and began
recording the basic tracks in my studio.

My brother, singer Larry Norman, lent his voice to a couple of the tracks, but when he passed away
from a heart attack in 2008 I fell into a deep funk and put the project on the back burner. I couldn't
bring myself to harmonize with his vocals ... it was just too emotional to deal with. It wasn't until much
later, prompted in part by Isaac Brock, that I dusted off the tapes and hard drives and began to finish
it. I went through my address book and started calling friends who happened to be in possession of
great voices to see if they were interested in joining in.

    The Second Album

Back in 1995, Bay Area rap was at the big-ballin' peak of the mobb music craze, LA was chronically gripped in a G-funk indo smoke haze, Atlanta was
enjoying its Southernplayalistic days, and NYC was entering a shiny-suit phase. There was no frame of reference for two lyrical emcees experimenting
with the tonality and resonance of rhyme patterns. This was uncharted territory. The pairing of Lyrics Born and Lateef the Truthspeaker into Latyrx was an accident, LB recalls. Both emcees were solo artists, but when LB heard the pre-Endtroducing DJ Shadow beat which would become Latyrx' eponymous debut single, his reaction was, Oh my God, I gotta get on this.

Latyrx was a syllabic tour de force which began with two dissonant voices -- one gruff and bassy, the other higher-pitched and trebly, both hella fluid -- it
transmogrified into a harmonic convergence of doubled verses simultaneously assaulting eardrums. Undeniably, it was great... but weird. It was ill,
Lateef recalls. We really felt like we had something unlike anyone else had done, he adds. Latyrx' first and thusfar, only, full-length, 1997's Latyrx: the Album, set the tone for what Solesides and Quannum would do, LB recalls, while 1998's Muzappers Re-Mixes EP spawned one of the only feminist-affirming club bangers in hip-hop history, Lady Don't Tek No.

Though Latyrx never officially broke up, after Muzappers, both members followed their chosen paths to considerable solo success. Yet no matter how
much acclaim each attained individually, the notion of someday making another Latyrx record was always present. It's probably the number one thing I
got asked about in my career, LB says. 16 years (!) after the release of Latyrx: the Album, LB and Lateef have finally answered the prayers of long-starved fans who have begged, pleaded and, by now, tweeted about the possibilities of a reunion. An impromptu Latyrx set at a 2010 Jazz Mafia concert at San Francisco's Mezzanine led to an
appearance at 2011's Outside Lands festival, Google's Summer Concert Series (they were the first ever hip-hop act to perform) and a last minute
appearance as part of HITRECORD At The Movies -- a unique film and music traveling showcase curated and hosted by actor and artist Joseph Gordon-
    Levitt.

Most recently the duo have performed at the Wintersalt Festival in San Francisco last December and toured the United States with super funk group,
Galactic. Having just released a brand new EP titled 'DISCONNECTION' late last year, LB & Lateef are hard at work on the proper follow up to their debut album, a
new record aptly titled, 'THE SECOND ALBUM'.

Featuring a long list of producers and special guests, the album credits read like a music festival with artists from Tune Yards and Forrest Day to
Blackalicious and The Decemberists stepping in to help create one of the most highly anticipated records of all time. What Latyrx brings to the table is a technical difficulty level rare these days in hip-hop and matched only by a few groups in the genre's entire history: Run -DMC, Jurassic 5, Blackstar, Freestyle Fellowship. Their challenging, intricate back-and forth arrangements evoke a lyrical version of bebop, with layer
upon layer of rhythmic syncopation and vocal patterning constantly pushing the envelope.

We have a good chemistry and it's kind of unique, Lateef says. We step up each others' game content, and both of us push each other in the originality
department. What we've talked about is very simply, picking up where we left off, LB explains. The return of Latyrx stands as Very Good News for true hip-hop fans,
lyrical aficionados, boom-bap beatniks, urban bohemians, wee tots in Reeboks, and Muzappers of all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages.

    Return Of Saturn

Just like the heavenly occasion which inspires its name, Return of Saturn, the latest album from Southern California rock band No Doubt, is best experienced with both feet firmly on the ground, and with eyes and ears held wide open.

The album's title refers to the notion that in the first 29 years of someone's life (the same time it takes the planet Saturn to orbit the Sun), a person is only beginning to understand himself or herself, which, singer and songwriter Gwen Stefani explains, helped her to discern her own place in life as she turned 30 years old. I wrote the song 'Artificial Sweetener', Gwen says, which has the line, 'the Return of Saturn, assessing my life, second guessing.' From the time you're born till the time Saturn returns to that point is a time of reassessment and a growing period, where you second-guess everything, and you clear out things that are going to be in the way of moving on in your life. I really did feel like I was going through a transitional phase in my life as I made this album. I think the name Return of Saturn is relevant in the sense that it shows how we've grown as a band, and as songwriters.

The culmination of two years of creative blood, sweat and tears for the quartet, Return of Saturn is a bold and exciting coming-of-age saga. An intimate view of the world as seen by a group of musicians and friends who watched their humble worlds turned literally upside-down by the unexpected (though well-deserved) success of No Doubt's third album, Tragic Kingdom. While that youthful recording reflects the concerns and observations of a band at the edge of possibility, Return of Saturn represents that same group looking collectively inward. What they saw and what they created those two years, will surprise and fascinate you. Who am I, and how did I get to this point in my life, when I thought I was going to be something completely different? -- that pretty much sums up the subject of this album, says Gwen.

Return of Saturn was recorded in two Los Angeles studios during 1998 and 1999. Twelve of the album's 13 songs were produced by Glen Ballard, (Alanis Morissette, Aerosmith), whose contribution was a key ingredient in the album's creation. In our band, everyone has such strong opinions that if you put the four of us in the room together you could have some troubles, says bassist Tony Kanal. But if you get somebody as experienced as Glen, not only as a producer but as a songwriter, you can bounce ideas off him and get some really cool objective answers, and it helps level the creative playing field.

One song on the album, New (also heard on the GO soundtrack) was produced by the band with Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads, Live). It was fun to start with a clean slate and create something brand new, says guitarist Tom Dumont, who also wrote much of the album's music. We hadn't really done much writing on the road, so when it came time, we had to come up with the entire record. Every time we wrote a song it was like having a baby. It's such a good feeling to sit down with an acoustic guitar and a tape recorder, and later to have created something really cool.

In light of the international success of Tragic Kingdom (more than 15 million copies sold worldwide, including over 11 million in the U.S.), the four band members were bound to be subject to any number of outside influences and pressures when it came time to make their follow-up.

But as it turned out, the band was able to turn any outside distraction to their ultimate benefit, beginning with pre-production and writing sessions at a rented Hollywood Hills house. I remember being in a very open, optimistic mood, says Tony, getting the house up in the hills, and just feeling like we had time to do it right. There was no deadline to deliver a record, so I remember not feeling pressure. It just felt like a good place to be, creatively.

Drummer Adrian Young agrees: We were just more conscious of the fact that we're following a huge record, and we need good songs, but I don't know what kind of album we wanted, or expected to make. It was very experimental most of the time. In fact, we didn't have any predisposition about it. That's always a good way for us to approach the music. We've always been across the board, stylistically, and I'm glad we didn't lose that part of the band, he says.

Songs on Return of Saturn like Marry Me, Simple Kind of Life and the album's first single Ex Girlfriend show vocalist Gwen Stefani in a reflective and unashamedly romantic mood, traits which she says are often overlooked in her hectic life. I think I am a romantic at heart, but my life in a lot of ways these days doesn't reflect that, she remarks. So I have this inner conflict about it, and this guilt about it. I'm very hopeful that someday those things will happen in my life, because it's all I've ever dreamed of. But right now it seems like my life doesn't have any room for it, and I won't make any room for it because I'm so passionate about what No Doubt is doing right now.

The music on each of No Doubt's three previous albums (1992's No Doubt, 1995's Beacon Street Incident, Tragic Kingdom) runs the stylistic gamut, mixing in as many influences as the band members can think of, and this collection is no different. Tom says the band has few rules when it comes to songwriting. We discovered a way to write on songs like Just a Girl and Spiderwebs and some of the older ones, which we incorporated when we started this album, and that was that there were no preconceived ideas at all. We would sit down in a room with a tape recorder and acoustic guitars and start improvising things. All the songs were written very spontaneously, starting from a blank slate every time.

The truth is, I feel like I've been turned inside-out after writing this album, adds Gwen. It's everything that I have been in the last two years, which have been really hard years for me. I just feet this sense of accomplishment, and this lightness has come over me since the album has been finished. It's so rewarding to be done and feel so proud of it, I can't wait for people to hear it.

    Your Arsenal

His fourth and finest solo album is, as the cover shot suggests, Morrisey's idea of hard rock. There's a gritty, glam feel to Mick Ronson's production (check the Ziggy Stardust cop on I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday), while the loud'n'rude riffs of new guitarist Boz Boorer banish memories of the Smiths. Best news: for once the songs focus on adult life, not the man's well-documented adolescence. --Jeff Bateman

Bored with his role as John Lennon in the musical Beatlemania in February of 1980, Marshall Crenshaw decided to try his hand at songwriting. By August of that year, he was playing his songs at gigs around Manhattan with his drummer brother, Robert and bassist Chris Donato. After singer Robert Gordon recorded three of his tunes, Crenshaw was signed by Warner Brothers and this, his self titled debut album was released in 1982. It was immediately lauded as a pop masterpiece and Crenshaw was recognized as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. Gems like Someday, Someway, She Can't Dance and Not for Me, all remain timeless classics that add up to one of the finest debuts of its day. Now here on Mobilie Fidelity Numbered Limited Edition 180g Vinyl!

First Pressing Of 1000 Numbered Copies On Transparent Green Vinyl

Homebrew is the second studio album by Neneh Cherry. The album features several different genres, including between Jazz, Funk and Trip Hop. Hip Hop legends Gang Starr co-wrote and produced Soul Sassy and I Ain't Gone Under Yet. Geoff Barrow wrote and produced Somedays.

Trout features a guitar riff sampled from Steppenwolf's version of The Pusher, and the drum track by John Bonham from When The Levee Breaks.Buddy X was allegedly inspired by Lenny Kravitz. It was remixed by Notorious B.I.G and the Dream Team. The track Move With Me later appeared on the soundtrack of the 1993 film Sliver.

Everything on this record is a gem. Cherry triumphs with a seamless and unorthodox blend of Hip Hop, R&B, Dance music, and Pop, and on Money Love and Trout, the presence of R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe brings Rock to the eclectic mix.

    Break Up

Predating Johanssons debut album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, by nearly two years; Break Up was conceived and recorded in 2006, in producer Sunny Levines garage studio. I always thought of it as just a small project between friends, explains Johansson. Ive loved the album ever since I heard it completed. It perfectly captured where I was in my life at the time. Yorn was protective of Break Up initially, playing it for no one until last year. When those close to him finally heard the album, the overwhelming response convinced Yorn that it was simply too strong a work to remain under lock and key.

Break Up includes eight original compositions by Yorn, ranging in tone from the lilting opener Relator to the disarming, retro/futuristic I Don't Know What To Do to the climactic Someday. Completing the collection is a powerful interpretation of the art-rock classic I Am The Cosmos by the late Chris Bell, co-founder of quintessential cult band Big Star.

Produced by Levine, with Yorn and Max Goldblatt as executive producers, the album features contributions from guitarist Robert Francis; bassist Giuseppe Patane; and violinist Amir Yaghmai, with Goldblatt on banjo, synth bass and backing vocals, and Levine handling programming and mixing.
