Includes Liner Notes And A Track-By-Track Description Of The Album's Music Written Especially For This Collection By Cameron Crowe, The Screenwriter And Director Of "Singles"
Epic Soundtrax and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Cameron Crowe's groundbreaking romantic comedy, "Singles," with the release of a newly expanded and remastered edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack album.
The 2xLP edition features the album's original 13 tracks newly mastered and freshly pressed across four sides of collectible 12 vinyl. The bonus CD of rarities and unreleased tracks is included as a special insert in the 2xLP 12 vinyl package.
The newly released bonus CD features previously unreleased recordings by Chris Cornell, Mike McCready, Mudhoney, and Paul Westerberg in addition to rarities such as Cornell's 1992 EP Poncier (debuting an early rendition of "Spoonman") and tracks from the film not included on the best-selling soundtrack album first released on June 30, 1992. The success of "Singles" helped establish a then-emerging new generation of rock artists-including 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden-as musical forces to be reckoned with.
The expanded edition of the "Singles" soundtrack includes, for the first time on CD, "Touch Me I'm Dick," the signature track from "Singles" performed by Citizen Dick (a fictional band created for the film featuring frontman Matt Dillon backed by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament).
The new Epic Soundtrax/Legacy Recordings edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack includes liner notes-and a track-by-track description of the album's music-written for especially for this collection by Cameron Crowe, the screenwriter and director of "Singles." The newly expanded edition of the film's soundtrack is produced by Danny Bramson and Cameron Crowe and mastered by Mike Piacentini at Battery Studios, New York.
Set in Seattle at the beginning of the 1990s, Crowe's film featured music by relatively obscure (at that time) bands like Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, providing an introduction to an emerging grunge rock music scene for a welcoming mainstream audience. The film became a cult classic while the soundtrack achieved RIAA double platinum status in the US.
A romantic comedy capturing the zeitgeist of an era, "Singles" helped define the look, sound, attitude and style of Generation X with a fresh-faced ensemble cast featuring Bridget Fonda, Campbell Scott, Kyra Sedgwick, Matt Dillon, Bill Pullman, Sheila Kelly, Jim True-Frost, James LeGros, Ally Walker, Jeremy Piven, Eric Stoltz, Tim Burton and more.
Crowe's groundbreaking film chronicling the lives of Seattle's twentysomethings touched a nerve in the culture while the movie's best-selling soundtrack-with tracks from new artists and classic rockers-provided a critical overview of the roots of grunge and the essential contributions of Seattle rock. Alongside new songs like Alice In Chains' "Would?" and Pearl Jam's "Breath" and "State of Love and Trust" stood the Jimi Hendrix Experience's "May This Be Love" and a breathtaking cover of Led Zeppelin's "The Battle of Evermore" performed by The Lovemongers (a musical side project created by Heart's Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson).
The first edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was originally released on June 30, 1992 and became a chart-topping best-seller three months prior to the theatrical release of the film. The soundtrack included music from key bands from the Seattle music scene-including Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden-while Paul Westerberg, in his first solo recordings outside The Replacements-contributed two songs and provided the score for the film. Smashing Pumpkins were also featured on the soundtrack with the song "Drown."
"The album itself was always designed to be sort of an anti-soundtrack, more like a souvenir and a simple mix-tape of some of Seattle's finest," said Cameron Crowe. "It really is and was a tribute to those hard-working bands that welcomed me to their city with open arms, and the music so many still love so much. Anyway, here we are now revisiting 'Singles,' the film, as well as the soundtrack you hold in your hands, expanded with a special tip of the hat to the fans of the original release. Included are unreleased and raw elements that helped shape the experience of making the movie back in 1991. Hope you enjoy the trip back as much as I did - Viva Seattle!"
25 years ago, the film "Singles" and its soundtrack worked together to bring the underground Seattle music scene to the forefront of mainstream consciousness. The album was among the first top-selling movie soundtracks of the 1990s to showcase new material from emerging contemporary bands. The expanded edition of Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is cause to celebrate anew the radical rock sounds that radiated out of the American Northwest a quarter century ago and changed pop music forever.LP 1

M.A.S.H Original SoundtrackFirst Pressing Of 750 Individually Numbered Copies 180 Gram On Red Vinyl, Black Vinyl Thereafter
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, M*A*S*H from 1970 is one of the most commercially and critically successful films in television history. After the release of the film a spinoff series was released and gained as much as success.
The film displays the setting of the 4077th MASH, located just three miles from the front line in Uijeongbu, where the doctors and nurses perform meatball surgery and otherwise do what they can to patch up the physical (and, occasionally, psychological) wounds of the conflict's casualties while staving off their own fear, stress, boredom and fatigue by fair means or foul.
Johnny Mandel's work on the soundtrack largely involved arranging period tunes and effect music (especially military and football-related themes), although he also wrote a memorable main title theme.
Song from M*A*S*H (Suicide Is Painless) is written by Johnny Mandel (music) and Mike Altman (lyrics), which was the theme song for both the movie and TV series M*A*S*H. Mike Altman is the son of the original film's director, Robert Altman, and was 14 years old when he wrote the song's lyrics.
Several instrumental versions of the song were used as the theme for the TV series. It became a number one hit in the UK Singles Chart in May 1980. The song was ranked #66 on AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs.1. Suicide Is Painless (Main Title)

Death Of A BachelorProduced by Jake Sinclair (Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy),DEATH OF A BACHELOR marks the first release from Panic! At The Disco in nearly two years, following 2013's acclaimed TOO WEIRD TO LIVE, TOO RARE TO DIE!. The album has already generated significant steam - current single Victorious rocketed to #1 on iTunes Top Songs chart, # 1 on Billboard + Twitter's Trending 140 chart, while also trending worldwide on Tumblr and Twitter.
The first single off Death Of A Bachelor,Hallelujah, made chart history for the band with a Top 40 debut on Billboard's Hot 100 - Panic! At The Disco's second Top 40 hit and first since 2006's breakthrough classic, I Write Sins, Not Tragedies. The album's title track, Death of A Bachelor, has been described by Urie as, It's like some BeyoncÉ beats with some Sinatra vocals. It's really crazy... Blow-Up SoundtrackBlow-Up is a soundtrack album by Herbie Hancock featuring music composed for Michelangelo Antonioni's cult film Blow-Up, released in 1966. Musically the songs evoke the ambience of swinging Sixties' London with grooves that create effective bluesy Jazz moods on the slow pieces, and funky ones on the up-tempo tracks.
The album features performances by Hancock on keys, Freddie Hubbard and Joe Newman on trumpet, Phil Woods and Joe Henderson on sax, Ron Carter on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums. Rumours go that either the fabled Jimmy Smith or Paul Griffin played the Hammond organ on this record.
Rock fans remember the film and the soundtrack for the inclusion of a rare Yardbirds number, Stroll On (actually, an adaptation of Tiny Bradshaw's The Train Kept A-Rollin'), one of only three songs they recorded with both Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page on guitars. The bassline to Bring Down The Birds was sampled by Deee-Lite for their 1990 hit single Groove Is In The Heart featuring Bootsy Collins.1. Main Title - "Blow Up"

The Best Of SadeBy the time this was released in 1994, something unexpected happened. Sade's early work became classic and the later additions boasted even better vocals and songs that nicely improved on the theme. The timeless sound and class always exhibited makes Sade Adu and her band a no-brainer for an appealing compilation.
Like Al Green's Greatest Hits, The Best of Sade doesn't detract from the original albums and is a marker of time, not the end of the act. The ice-princess demeanor and detached vocals worked perfectly for the mid-'80s singles and radio samples Smooth Operator and Your Love Is King. The tracks from the make-or-break second album, Promise, seem less dolorous propped up and sequenced for a compilation. The sensual-to-a-fault The Sweetest Taboo and Never As Good As the First Time both retain their strength here. This set also includes tracks from Sade's comeback CD, Love Deluxe, including Kiss of Life and No Ordinary Love.
As a bonus, The Best of Sade also includes a rare cover of Please Send Me Someone to Love from the Philadelphia soundtrack.LP 1

Suicide Squeeze Records Presents:Forever Singles (Awaiting Repress)
Limited Edition Of 1,000 Copies
Pressed On Custom Light Green Vinyl
Like many of the great independent record labels of the '90s, Suicide Squeeze started
off as a hobby. And like so many other hobby labels, Suicide Squeeze's rst ventures
were 7 singles. But whereas many upstarts plodded through a series of crudely
assembled debut records by short-lived and long-forgotten friends' bands, the Seattle
label hit the ground running with a stream of well-packaged singles by beloved
Northwest artists - 764-Hero, Pedro The Lion, Elliott Smith, and Modest Mouse, to
name a few. Not surprisingly, the quality of these early releases helped catapult the
label into a full-time operation.
Whether a testament to the enduring allure of vinyl or the quality of the artists on the
roster, Suicide Squeeze continues to make 7s. And in this era of renewed interest in
vinyl, the label's limited-run releases sell out quickly. Lucky collectors continue to enjoy
the vinyl, and the dedicated fans always have the option to download the mp3s. But
what's the better plan for making these recordings endure for posterity? To add mp3s
to the ever-expanding annals of the internet, or to create a new slab of wax capturing
the best singles Suicide Squeeze has had to offer in recent years? Not content with
limiting the songs to the former, the Seattle indie label is going for the latter, culling
some of their nest tracks for the compilation album Suicide Squeeze Presents:
The LP captures the rowdy garage rock of The Coathangers and Davilla 666, the
scraggly dirt-ridden guitars of JEFF the Brotherhood and Heavy Cream, the nostalgic
'60s girl-group melodies of Bleached and La Luz, the exuberant power pop of
Audacity, King Tuff, Nobunny, and Meat Market, the hazy noir soundtrack of Dirty
Beaches, the vitriolic basement-show noise-punk of Nu Sensae, the sinister post-punk
of Wax Idols, and the West Texas-bred Twin Reverb rock of The Numerators. Bundled
together onto one record, the collection perfectly captures the spirit of Suicide
Squeeze in the current decade: rambunctious youthful urgency tempered with a hat
tip to rock n' roll's gritty unsung heroes of the past.
In keeping with the limited-edition nature of the 7s, Forever Singles will be released
on 1000 hand-numbered colored vinyl. And while the compilation is a vital
documentation of the Northwest label's continuing commitment to bold and brash new
artists, it's also a solid reminder of rock music's humble beginning on dusty old '45s.1. The Coathangers "Merry Go Round"

Halloween / Escape from New York (Awaiting Repress)

Much of the power of the best films by the cult director John Carpenter can
be attributed to their use of music - music that, more often than not, was
composed and performed by Carpenter himself. What began as a necessity for
the low-budget productions by Carpenter became a major part of his aesthetic,
and established him as a pioneering figure in genre-film score work as well as
electronic music in general. Now, flanked by his son Cody Carpenter and godson
Daniel Davies, and with two albums (Lost Themes and Lost Themes II) of nonsoundtrack
material under his belt, Carpenter has decided to revisit some of his
most beloved themes.
Halloween was Carpenter's breakthrough as a feature film director. Made for
$300,000, it was the most profitable independent movie of its day, and to date has
spawned several sequels, becoming an renowned franchise; its stories, characters
and scores known the world over. It tells the story of Michael Myers, who brutally
massacred his sister 15 years ago and escapes from from a mental hospital on
Halloween night to relive his grisly crime again and again. The film's pulse is the
eerie 5/4 piano theme that Carpenter places at the center of its pivotal scenes. It's
a classic theme that stands tall alongside Psycho, Jaws, and The Exorcist as one of
the most famous - and greatest - in horror movie history.
The dystopian action thriller Escape from New York is another Carpenter classic,
uniting the director with his greatest muse, Kurt Russell. In the film, Manhattan
has been turned into a maximum security prison whose population consists of
street punk gang escapees, and Russell's Snake Plissken must rescue the President,
whose plane has crashed on the island. The minimal synthesizer theme that
tracks Plissken's journey across this ravaged vision of NYC is one of Carpenter's
defining works as a composer.
This double A sided 12 release includes the themes to Halloween and Escape from
New York, newly re-recorded by Carpenter and his Lost Themes bandmates. These
new masters have never been previously released. The 12 is available as a deluxe,
mylar-sleeve black vinyl and a limited-edition picture disc, both with new artwork
by Jay Shaw. May this release serve as a bridge between the Horror Master's
legendary past and his remarkable present.1. Halloween

Science & Magic: A Soundtrack to the UniverseLil Bub has had her paws in the music world for quite some time now. She's tight with Steve Albini, produced a single for Kelley Deal, worked closely with David Yow, collaborated with Andrew W.K., spearheaded 50 Bands and a Cat (she's the cat), been held by Jonathan Richman, has a song written for her by Kimya Dawson, was rapped about by Aesop Rock, enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Murder by Death, appeared in The Foo Fighters' HBO Documentary, Sonic Highways, was the July, 2014 cover story for SPIN Magazine, and famously appears on Run the Jewels' highly anticipated Meow the Jewels record made up entirely of cat sounds.

ParadiseSometimes stars emerge. Sometimes stars are thrust upon us. And sometimes stars simply slip into the atmosphere as if propelled by something otherworldly. It is into this last category that the astonishing presence, voice, look and feel of Lana Del Rey falls. Musical stardom is not an option with Ms Del Rey. It is her vocation. She calls herself the 'gangsta Nancy Sinatra' and defines her genre as 'Hollywood pop/sadcore,' a dramatic new loop for pop music. Her look she describes as 'Lolita got lost in the hood.' Get used to it all. This isn't just soundbite, it's Lana's reality.
The EP's lead single is Ride, a downtempo pop ballad produced by Rick Rubin and co-written by Video Games author Justin Parker. The video for Ride premiered at a promotional event in Santa Monica on October 10, airing online two days later. A cover of the popular 1950s track, Blue Velvet, and an original track, Burning Desire, were included on the EP as promotional singles. An ancillary music video for Blue Velvet was used in a commercial for clothing line H&M to help promote the EP. For the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Del Rey served as a model for the Jaguar F-Type luxury automobile and performed Burning Desire as another avenue of promotion. Burning Desire also serves as the soundtrack for an eponymously titled short film starring Damian Lewis scheduled for a 2013 release. A teaser trailer was released to Del Rey's official YouTube channel with snippets of each song featured on the EP. Even before its release, the song Cola received media attention due to the controversial nature of its lyrics. The track was confirmed to be the EP's second single several days after its release. Music videos for Ride, Blue Velvet, and Bel Air were posted to VEVO and YouTube to help promote the EP.1. Ride

Greatest Hit SinglesBest known for his classic Shaft soundtrack and role on South Park, Isaac Hayes has one of the deepest and impressive discographies in modern music. Freddie Mercury: Messenger Of The Gods - The Singles (Box Set)Box Set Features 13 x 7" Singles On Colored Vinyl
Includes Booklet Featuring Previously Unpublished Photos
Freddie Mercury was a man of many talents and many different sides. The songs he wrote for and with Queen filled stadiums around the globe and have rightly gone down in history, but he also embarked on a solo career that took him from the clubs of Munich and New York to the great opera houses of the world.
He was the ultimate showman, but he kept his private life away from the prying eyes of the media; a larger than life rock star who loved disco, classical music and ballet. He was a restless spirit, a true chameleon who reveled in his own contradictions.
All the different sides of this iconic musician can be found on Freddie Mercury: Messenger Of The Gods - The Singles. Fittingly released on Mercury Records for the world outside North America, and on Hollywood Records in North America, this box set brings together all 13 of Freddie's solo singles on individually coloured vinyl.
From his debut solo single I Can Hear Music, released under the name Larry Lurex, through the dance floor-influenced solo anthems of the 80s and up to his collaborations with legendary Spanish opera singer Montserrat CaballÉ including the timeless Barcelona, this is a journey through the career of a unique talent.
Born Farrokh Bulsara on the East African island of Zanzibar on September 5, 1946, the rechristened Freddie Mercury was already a star in his own mind by the time he formed Queen with Brian May and Roger Taylor in 1970. Where his band mates had studied astrophysics, dentistry and electronics at college, Freddie majored in stardom.
His first solo single actually emerged a week before Queen's own debut 7". Released in 1973 and credited to Larry Lurex in a nod to the fashionably flamboyant noms de rock of the glam era, the Beach Boys cover I Can Hear Music and its B-side, Goin' Back, were recorded as a favour towards a musical project by Trident Studios' house engineer Robin Geoffrey Cable, in 1972.
As Queen's career rocketed towards the heavens, Freddie poured his energies into the band. It would be more than a decade before he released his second solo single, the pulsating, electronic Love Kills. Originally released in 1984, Love Kills was a collaboration with famed Italian disco producer Giorgio Moroder for the soundtrack to Moroder's update of the groundbreaking 1927 silent movie Metropolis. A Top 10 UK hit, it found Freddie moving away from Queen's traditional sound, paving the way for what he would do next.
Released in 1985, Freddie's debut solo album, Mr Bad Guy, fully explored the music he had fallen in love with in the dance clubs of Munich and New York. The four hit singles released from that album - I Was Born To Love You, Made In Heaven, Living On My Own and Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow, all of which are included in the Messenger Of The Gods box set - crackled with playfully hedonistic energy, but they also hid a more serious side to Freddie. Here was a man who craved the good times but wanted something deeper as well.
Within two years, he had abandoned the sound of the clubs for the music of the opera house - though not before releasing both the epic single Time, the theme to the lavish stage musical of the same name produced by Dave Clark, and his outrageous (and strangely revealing) Top 5 cover of The Platters' 1965 hit, The Great Pretender.
In 1987, he dived headlong into the world of opera and classical music with the towering single, Barcelona. A duet with legendary Spanish soprano Montserrat CaballÉ, an idol of Freddie's, it came about after the opera star asked him to write a song about her home town.
Barcelona remains one of the most momentous hit singles not just of Freddie's career but in pop history. Not only did it lead to an album of collaborations between these two huge talents, but the title track was also chosen as the official anthem of the 1992 Olympics. That song, together with the two other singles taken from the album, The Golden Boy and How Can I Go On, are all included as part of Messenger Of The Gods with their original B-sides.
In October 1988 Freddie and Montserrat were invited by the King and Queen of Spain to perform Barcelona on the steps of Barcelona's National Palace of Montjuic at the open air La Nit festival which was staged to mark the arrival of the Olympic Flag from Seoul.
But sadly, Freddie would not live to see the fruits of his collaboration with Montserrat CaballÉ showcased at the Barcelona Olympics. He passed away on November 24, 1991, just seven months before the Games took place. The grand opening ceremony was a fitting tribute to a man who thrived on spectacle.
Messenger Of The Gods is completed by two posthumous singles, In My Defence and Living On My Own (No More Brothers Radio Mix), the latter of which became Freddie's first solo number 1 and was the biggest selling European single of the year in 1993.
Had he lived, it is anyone's guess where this most restless and protean of singer's muses would have taken him. But Messenger Of The Gods - The Singles is a towering legacy, a collection of songs which will never lose their stature of classics and will live on forever.Disc 1 - Blue Colored Vinyl

In director Justin Tipping's feature debut Kicks, nothing is as simple as it seems. It's the story of fifteen-year-old Brandon, longing for a pair of the freshest sneakers that money can buy. Assuming that merely having them on his feet will help him escape the reality of being poor, neglected by the opposite sex and picked on by everyone - even his best friends. Working hard to get them, he soon finds that the titular shoes have instead made him a target after they are promptly snatched by Flaco, a local hood. Brandon goes on a mission to retrieve his stolen sneakers.
The director intentionally derived local artists, including Roach Gigz, Dave Steezy, and NanosauR, as well as the late Dre and Iamsu! from the San Fransisco Bay Area where the film is set.
I always knew I wanted to weave an eclectic soundtrack together that intertwined hip-hop and sweeping score to reflect the Bay Area sound, as well as the world inside the characters' imagination, said Tipping in a statement.
Bay Area composer Brian Reitzell is notable for his soundtrack work on The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation (for which he was nominated for a BAFTA), Marie Antoinette, and The Bling Ring. He is also the drummer of French electronica duo, Air.
We wanted the score to connect with the source music sonically, added Reitzell. I think that when you do that, the music as a whole -- both songs and score -- make for a more immersive/connective experience. The connection is evident in the beat-heavy track, 606 In The 510, from Reitzell's score.
The soundtrack features previously unreleased tracks from Nanosaur, Jay Casio and Reitzell, as well as two dialogue interludes set to lyrics from Notorious B.I.G.'s 1993 single Party and Bullshit and tracks by Wu-Tang Clan, Charles Bradley, RJD2 and Mac Dre.LP 1

Upon its release on December 19, 1997, Titanic achieved critical and commercial success. Nominated for fourteen Academy Awards, it tied with All About Eve (1950) for the most Oscar nominations. Waiting To Exhale SoundtrackMasterfully Produced And All But One Track Written By Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds
Featured R&B Divas Old School (Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan) And New School (Whitney Houston, Brandy, Mary J. Blige)
Released In Purple Vinyl (Whitney Houston's Favorite Color)
Waiting to Exhale was a phenomenon on so many levels. First, it was a literary phenomenon, as the 1992 novel launched author Terry McMillan to superstardom. Then, when the feature film based on the book was released in 1995, it became a broader cultural phenomenon-a mainstream Hollywood film focusing on the lives of four African-American women was a genuinely revolutionary act at the time. And, finally, it was a musical phenomenon, as its soundtrack seamlessly blended female R&B divas new school (Whitney Houston, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, etc.) and old school (Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan) in a masterful suite of songs composed and produced by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds.
Critical and commercial reaction to the soundtrack was over the top; The New York Times deemed the album one of the Top Ten releases of the year, and the record topped the Billboard Pop and R&B charts for five and ten weeks, respectively, spawning the #1 hit singles "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)," "Not Gon' Cry," and "Let It Flow." Yet, because the album came out in 1995 at the height of the CD era, Waiting to Exhale never came out on LP in the U.S., and was released in Europe as a low-budget 2-LP set with both records stuffed inside a single album jacket pocket.
Now, Real Gone Music is releasing this landmark '90s R&B album on vinyl in America for the first time in a limited edition (of 1000) gatefold double-LP package sporting a luminous photo of the movie's four principal actors (Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon, and Loretta Devine) on the inside spread and pristine vinyl pressed in purple (Whitney's favorite color).
Gently pulsating and seductive, Waiting to Exhale is Babyface's masterpiece, one of the great make-out records of all time; now you can get that slow jam groove in the grooves!LP 1
