Shades Of Blue is a unique project that turns over the legacy of the esteemed Blue Note jazz label to one of hip-hop's most unique artists, Madlib. He is considered to be one of hip-hop's most inventive visionaries and connects it's productions through smart lyrics and poetics.
The album opens with the declaration that We are now having a little cooking session for Blue Note right here on the scene... Madlib was afforded the opportunity to mine the crates of Blue Note. On Shades of Blue, he delivers remixes and brand spanking new interpretations of Blue Note classics.
Whether funking out Ronnie Foster's original Mystic Brew and transforming it into the Mystic Bounce, or giving Wayne Shorter's Footprints a go with Yesterday's New Quintet, rest assured that Madlib's innovative sonic vocabulary will fill the ears.
Other artists receiving a Madlib reimagination include Donald Byrd, Bobbi Humphrey, Bobby Hutcherson, Horace Silver, The Three Sounds and many more.
Pitchfork album reviewer Scott Hreha rates the album 8.6 Listening to Madlib's music, I'm reminded of the Black radical maestros responsible for some of the outermost-limits music-making of the past half-century: Sun Ra, George Clinton, Lee 'Scratch' Perry.

Different Shades Of BlueJoe Bonamassa is a guitar player's guitar player. Yet, for every guitarist who sits down to figure how Bonamassa gets his tone, there's a non-musician listener who just likes the music. Bonamassa balances the needs of both by making sure the songs are there.
For his first studio album in two years, he co-wrote the songs with veteran Nashville songwriters and went into a Las Vegas studio with longtime producer Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith) and a solid band. Blues of DesperationGRAMMY-nominated blues-rock guitar icon Joe Bonamassa announces his 20160solo album, Blues of Desperation (J&R Adventures). Like his previous solo disc, 2014's Top 10 Billboard hit Different Shades of Blue, this record features all-original material, and it sees the maverick superstar guitarist, singer and songwriter tossing away the rule book as he continues to reinvent and redefine the blues-rock genre like no other artist working today.
I want people to hear my evolution as a blues-rock musician, says Bonamassa, somebody who isn't resting on accomplishments and who is always pushing forward and thinking about how music can evolve and stay relevant.
The writing sessions for Blues of Desperation took Bonamassa back to Nashville, where he'd composed Different Shades of Blue, to work with some of Music City's top tunesmiths, people like James House, Tom Hambridge, Jeffrey Steele, Jerry Flowers and Gary Nicholson.
These are some of the best guys in the business, Bonamassa raves. Lyrically, you'll hear the proverbial trains, mountains, valleys and other blues references about heartbreak and loneliness but there are also some poignant moments about getting away from the stressful, crazy demands of life and losing yourself with your special someone. I think anybody will be able to relate.
Bonamassa and his longtime producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Journey) convened at Nashville's Grand Victor Sound Studios (formerly known as RCA Studio A), and during an intense, five-day period they recorded 11 galvanizing songs with a crack group of musicians including drummers Anton Fig and Greg Morrow, bassist Michael Rhodes, keyboardist Reese Wynans, horn players Lee Thornburg, Paulie Cerra and Mark Douthit, and background singers Mahalia Barnes, Jade McRae and Juanita Tippins.
Of his decade-long collaboration with Shirley, Bonamassa says, I can explain our relationship with one word - 'trust.' I completely trust in Kevin and his musical promptings. He pushes my musical ability by challenging me to not just rest on my laurels or settle for 'good.' He expects more out of the other musicians as well and will not hold back when he sees us falling back into our usual routine.
Which sometimes calls for unorthodox measures, says Shirley, who admits that his idea of augmenting Bonamassa's usual recording band with second drummer Morrow was engineered to ruffle Joe's feathers.
I wanted him to work a little harder, like in his early years, he says, so I brought in an additional drummer, just to throw the cat amongst the pigeons. Of the results, Shirley raves, Recording 'Blues of Desperation' is one of the most exciting recording projects I've done. What a joyful noise we made!
Blues of Desperation is Bonamassa's most powerfully diverse and boldly realized album yet, with the material ranging from the gutsy, gritty blues call to arms of This Train (Joe's guitar is set to rude throughout) to the elegant yet emotionally shattering ballad What I've Known for a Very Long Time to the soul-nourishing, acoustic-based Americana of The Valley Runs Low, on which Bonamassa's voice rises up majestically to meet Barnes, McRae and Tippins in gospel-like rapture. And then there's the bleary, tequila-soaked Drive, dripping with the kind of raw, wicked and unsettling sensuality that could make David Lynch green with envy.
Throughout the record, Bonamassa's epic guitar playing conjures up stirring benedictions and explosive exorcisms of sound. No Good Place For the Lonely features some of the guitarist's most cauterizing licks yet, and the walloping title track is a white-knuckled, six-string thrill ride guaranteed to jolt the senses. Guitar fans everywhere (like those who recently voted Bonamassa Best Blues Guitarist in Guitar World magazine by an overwhelming margin) will consider Blues of Desperation a treasure trove of axe riches.
There are some long solos on this record and even some mini-jams in the middle of a track where the band would just jive and crank it out, he says. [During those jams], we do a tip of the hat to Beck and Clapton from the '70s. I think guitar nerds and music fans like myself will love it.
Packed with unparalleled musicianship and teeming with the most enthralling collection of songs in Bonamassa's career, Blues of Desperation is guaranteed to knock out critics and fans alike. By exceeding his own vertiginously high artistic goals, Bonamassa is bound to shatter all other expectations with this record and reach new audiences - no mean feat when you continue his astonishing track record of hits now includes 15 #1 Billboard Blues Albums (more than any other artist in history). 2014's Different Shades of Blue debuted at #8 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart, making it his highest charting album, his first top 10 and accounting for his biggest sales week ever. In 2014, the guitarist received his first-ever Grammy nomination (for Best Blues Album) for the album Seesaw, his second collaboration with blues singing star Beth Hart, and was named 2014's Billboard Blues Artist of the Year.1. Spirit BirdWhen he debuted in 2002 with the album To Let, Xavier Rudd began a journey that would see him become one of the most iconic voices in Australian music, literally and figuratively. With each new album, this journey has wound like a river making its way toward the ocean, twisting and turning, flowing and cascading as it relentlessly pushes forward.
Introducing himself as an artist of both imagination and conscience, Xavier Rudd's ability to marry uplifting melodies with thought-provoking themes and concepts produced music that, one way or another, made you feel good. With an array of guitars, yidakis (didgeridoos), stomp box and percussion, Rudd re-introduced a lot of Australians to the sounds and stories of the land's original owners, while introducing the rest of the world to an entirely new sound altogether. And, over the course of a decade, he has taken this sound to every corner of the globe; producing six studio albums, two live albums, multiple ARIA nominations and a global fan-base of like minded souls.
This journey, truly befitting a storyteller, continues with Xavier Rudd's seventh and most moving album, Spirit Bird. Shaped by his history but continuing to break new ground, Xavier Rudd is at his most creative on Spirit Bird, once again painting breathtaking pictures with vivid, unmistakable tones. Hypnotic ceremonial rhythms ease effortlessly into tender folk songs. Gritty guitar blues sit perfectly alongside entrancing yidaki passages. Rudd's voice, and the voice of his ancestors, yet again bearing truth and knowledge.
Led by the heart-warming Follow The Sun, Spirit Bird weaves together Rudd's trademark mixture of blues, reggae, indigenous and folk music in new and familiar ways, at times recalling the simplicity of Solace, and at others the electricity of Dark Shades Of Blue. There is the youthfulness of To Let, but the wisdom of Koonyum Sun. It is Xavier Rudd by every measure.
And whether it is a message, or just some words from the heart; Spirit Bird is a defining moment in the evolution of one of Australia's most important artists. The moment where the river meets the ocean. Double LP pressed at Rainbo Records in Canoga Park, CA with gatefold packaging and digital download card.LP1

Black Rose: A Rock LegendImport
Black Rose: A Rock Legend is the ninth studio album by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1979. The album debuted at its #2 peak in the UK album charts and is the band's most successful studio album to date. It was the first time that blues rock guitarist Gary Moore remained in the band long enough to record an album after previous stints in 1974 and 1977 with Thin Lizzy. He appeared with frontman Phil Lynott in the rock band Skid Row in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Around this time Moore recorded the album Back on the Streets with Lynott, spawning the UK top 10 single Parisienne Walkways (with Lynott on vocals). He left Thin Lizzy that year following a dispute but worked with Lynott again on his tours in 1984 and 1985 and on the top 5 single Out in the Fields and accompanying album Run for Cover, on what were to be Lynott's final performances before his death in January 1986. Axl Rose has the cover of Black Rose: A Rock Legend tattooed on his right upper arm, and once said that he "wanted to show it to Phil Lynott, but then he died on me. The album included the second song Lynott wrote about a member of his family entitled Sarah, the first song by this name having appeared on 1972's Shades of a Blue Orphanage, written about his grandmother, also named Sarah. The song on this album is about his then newly born daughter. The last track "Róisín Dubh" is comprised of traditional songs, all arranged by Lynott and Moore, as well of original parts. The song Will You Go Lassie, Go (Wild Mountain Thyme) is sometimes mistakenly credited as a traditional song, but was written by William McPeake, and first recorded by Francis McPeake (and is on this album credited to F. McPeak).1. Do Anything You Want To Do

Dream CenterCouple Skate Records are extremely excited to announce the signing of
Los Angeles-based songwriter Michael Vidal. After years of blazing coasts
and continents, DIY enclaves and contempo-art spaces alike as the singer
/ guitarist of LA punks Abe Vigoda, Michael Vidal has stepped out of the
combustible, hyper-color tropical punk of his former group, and onto his own
into more pastoral, lush territory. Dream Center is Vidal's inaugural work,
originally released onto cassette in 2013 from LA label Big Joy, reissued onto
all additional formats from Couple Skate Records.
The music of Dream Center is a wonderful and diverse spectrum of looping,
beautiful guitar pop (featured on "Dreams" and "Appraisal") that evokes the
deeper emotional shades of the likes Blue Nile and Prefab Sprout, and crystalline
instrumental pieces ("Mono No Aware") reminiscent of Durutti Column
and the earlier days of Felt. All touchstones aside, the music of Vidal's Dream
Center is an impressionist paean to love, loss, and existence, an exciting new
beginning for a uniquely creative spirit.1. Dreams (Come Back To Me)

Vagabonds Of The Western World24 Bit / 96 Khz Remaster From The Original Tapes
180 Gram LP Housed In A Deluxe Gatefold "Tip-On" Jacket
Book-deep Liner Notes And Rare Archival Photos
Seismic shifts happened between the previous year's Shades Of A Blue Orphanage and 1973's Vagabonds Of The Western World.
Frontman Phil Lynott was still documenting working class life in the group's native Dublin, and the band still featured guitarist Eric Bell and drummer Brian Downey, even if Bell was soon to leave; the shift was in the feel of the album. Between Jim Fitzpatrick's lurid album cover which depicted the band in space, the new, hot-rod-like Thin Lizzy logo, and Lynott's newly throaty howl, it's possibly the first Thin Lizzy album on which they truly could be described as a hard rock band.
Vagabonds presented a swaggering confidence, a band buoyed by the success of semi-accidental smash hit "Whisky In The Jar," and carved out a moody, dark sound by borrowing bits from the blues, folk, psych, and Celtic music. Check out "Slow Blues" for proof, and decide whether Lynott or the guitars win the wail-off that begins the track.
"Whisky In The Jar" had been a bone of contention for the band who felt it didn't represent them. Pushed out due to their presence on package tours with rockers Slade and Suzi Quatro, it seemed to seal their fate, and their Vagabonds single, "The Rocker," set out their stall for good.
The weirdness and idiosyncracies of Phil Lynott's early songwriting hadn't been ironed out completely: "The Hero And The Madman" saw them try their hand at acid-fried cowboy rock-if such a thing ever existed.
After the album, and after Bell's departure due to ill health and disillusionment with the music industry, Thin Lizzy were reinvented once again. Lynott recruited two guitarists and the band left Decca to record Nightlife for Phonogram.
Their big hits and glory years-beginning with 1976's Jailbreak-were still ahead of them, but, with Vagabonds as a centerpiece, Thin Lizzy's early years left behind a cabinet of curiosities.1. Mama Nature Said

"'Adult Diversion' is a whimsical dream jam and brings "feel-good" to
a staggering high." - Consequence of Sound
"...a complete collision of everything we already love: singalong
lyrics, a guitar-driven backbone, and a sun-drenched vibe..."
"Alvvays make wistful, jangly, Brit-tinged indiepop."
"...somewhere between the sun-drenched shores of California and
the preppy Scottish countryside."
Alvvays are two women, three men, a crate of C-86 tapes and a
love of jingle-jangle. Molly Rankin and Kerri MacLellan grew up
as next-door neighbours in Cape Breton, lifting fiddles and folk-songs. Heartbreaks of different shades soon entered their lives, as
did the music of Teenage Fanclub and Belle & Sebastian. Similar
noisy melancholy drifted over to Prince Edward Island, finding
Alec O'Hanley, Brian Murphy and Philip MacIsaac.
Convening in Toronto, the group have been making music since
since dusk or maybe dawn, when stars were appearing or fading
off. As a result, their debut self-titled album is both sun-splashed
and twilit -- nine songs concealing drunkenness, defeat and death
in tungsten-tinted pop that glitters like sea glass.
With needlepoint melody and verse, Rankin and O'Hanley's songs
were recorded at Chad VanGaalen's Yoko Eno studio and mixed

King Krule (Awaiting Repress)King Krule's (formerly Zoo Kid) second release brings with it, an expansion of vision, both musically and thematically. The connective tissue between these five tracks is still Marshall's stark, direct lyrics, but over the span of the self-titled EP, there is an arresting sonic progression, as his songs open up to become a loose knit meditation and renewal of hope in the face of desperation. Shades of The Streets' plainspoken and observant ramble dance with the heart on sleeve confessions of Billy Bragg. Archy's influences are a patchwork for his voice to lay in, woven from several generations music as divergent as the 80s romantics, jazz, no wave and dub.
The first vocal track 'Bleak Bake', for instance, opens with levitating keyboards and Marshall clearing his throat, before sampled strings and 808 drum 'pooms' swoon in and he sighs. 'The Noose of Jah City' drives the knife in deeper -some of his most intoxicating incantations to date- with Marshall singing of being "suffocated in concrete" over a lushly upholstered backdrop of chiming guitars and shuffling sampled beats. While in the gorgeous 'Portrait in Black and Blue' he unleashes a bounding piece of classic croon. But even though the subject matter may at times be harrowing, the songs themselves are never anything less than exquisitely crafted, possessed of an almost spectral beauty, as epitomised in the shimmering instrumental intro "363N63".
Taken as a whole, the "King Krule" EP is the sound of a young man growing up and attempting to grapple with the realities of the world he inhabits, and a fascinating, brutal journey it is too.1. 363N63

FRKWYS Vol. 11 - Contos De LisboaFor the the eleventh volume of FRKWYS, an unrestricted series pairing contemporary
artists with their influential predecessors, gifted guitar squire Steve Gunn meets roving,
radiating legend Mike Cooper in Lisbon, Portugal.
Sharing their vision over lengthy living room guitar sessions and evenings of cold wine
in Fado taverns, Gunn and Cooper created Cantos de Lisboa, an album with variable
vernacular shades and musical forms from Portugal's antiquity.
Cantos means "corner" in Portuguese, as well as "chant" or "song" (this latter meaning
evolved from the Latin antecedent referring to stanzas of verse in poetry). For two artists
whose roots lie in the country blues and its subverted offshoots, the proverbial "corner"
is actually home, the undisturbed spot where music can flourish.
A tranquil interlude for these two travellers to create off-guard improvisations in their
shared style of deconstructed guitar music, Cantos de Lisboa is a curious detail in the
periphery of their snapshot of Portugal.
In his fifty-year-plus career, Cooper's global ventures have transported his music to
exotic locales parallel to Lisbon. 2004's Rayon Hula musically translated the patterned
flora of aloha shirts (Cooper's signature garment) as looped samples of famed Hawaiian
vibraphone player Arthur Lyman for an avant vivified form of exotica.
Rayon Hula signaled Cooper's vital re-emergence as a dexterous alchemist of slide
guitar. Cooper's discography is colored with similar instances of casually conceptual,
improvisatory guitar music, including his 1970 masterpiece Trout Steel (an album Gunn
recalls in Cantos de Lisboa's liner notes as shaping his own ambitions and music).
For his part, Gunn's path to Portugal was compelled by his kinship to Cooper and
his ilk's experimentation with guitar-picked country blues and 70s British folk. Gunn's
extracurricular immersion in free jazz and psychedelia, no doubt influenced by his
Philadelphia upbringing and surroundings, ensures his playing never grits or grids and
always soars to ecstatic heights.
These musical emblems were gracefully memorialized on Gunn's celebrated Time
Off (Paradise of Bachelors, 2013) and across a substantial catalog of solo, duo and
ensemble work that resembles that of a veteran player more than a young guitar
On Cantos de Lisboa, Gunn and Cooper take emotive cues from Fado, the regional
music of Portugal, which is in close plaintive spirit to the blues. A melancholy seeps into
the music, while steering a wide berth from any bummer notes or pastiche. Cooper's
sparse effects toolkit and stately, gliding cadences are nimbly employed, while Gunn's
ashen voice and steady strum lend an intensely organic feel to the album's improvisatory
The latter half of Cantos de Lisboa echoes the "saudade" theme as referenced in
the blissful opening track, Cooper's howl spiriting the Portuguese word that translates
roughly into "loss" or "longing." Saudade is said to be the core feature of Fado music. In
Cantos de Lisboa, Saudade becomes a spirit inhabiting the album's corners, but never
disrupting the musicians' collaborative evocations.
In the hands of these two limitless guitarists, Cantos de Lisboa convenes in an abstract,
almost field recorded take on lap-steel and American Primitive guitar styles. For the
brief idyll, Gunn and Cooper's collaboration is remarkably rich, marking their passage
through Portugal not just as a time to revel in an ancient city, but a time for focused
collaboration and creative consonance.1. Saudade Do Santos-o-Velho

Real EstateREAL ESTATE waft in on vibes of hazy summers past. The New Jersey quartet cut the sleeves short and the pop smooth to shade you from the midday heat. Every song works its way to that part of your consciousness that reveled in the fleeting waves of freedom that eked in once classes broke and the sun lingered a little longer over suburban roofs. And with three quarters of the band holding down Garden State roots its no surprise that a bit of Jersey indie-pop heritage sneaks its way into their sound, lifting the most sun streaked moments from The Feelies and Yo La Tengo and filtering them through the kaleidoscope of memories aimless drives through parched neighborhood streets. MARTIN COURTNEYs songwriting has a way of wrapping up the immediacy of youth with the ennui of age for the perfect shade of bittersweet bliss, mind you though, much heavier on the sweet than the bitter. Add to this MATTHEW MONDANILEs (DUCKTAILS, PREDATOR VISION) shimmering guitar strains full of equal parts sea foam and beer foam, pepper in the boardwalk clatter of ETIENNE PIERRE DUGUAYs drums, ALEX BLEEKERs staccato low end and the perfect afternoon is just a lawn chair and boom box away.Andy French (Raven Sings the Blues) Received a Best New Music, 8.5 rating from Pitchfork.Side A

Field NotesWil Blades Field Notes features guitarist Jeff Parker of Tortoise and drummer Simon Lott from New Orleans.
"He is the future to carry on the legend, the legacy of the organ, of the B-3." - Dr. Lonnie Smith
When Wil Blades sits down at the Hammond B3, count on inspired music to follow. The 34-year old, Chicago-native, Berkeley-based artist is a cornerstone organist of his generation-a modern voice in a lineage that includes giants like Richard "Groove" Holmes, Charles Earland and Brother Jack McDuff.
Having studied at the feet of the legendary Dr. Lonnie Smith and played alongside the likes of John Lee Hooker, Melvin Sparks and Idris Muhammad, Blades has absorbed the spirit of the masters. His extensive collaborations also reflect the high regard in which he's held by contemporaries, including Stanton Moore, Anders Osborne and Nicholas Payton.
Having released a critically acclaimed co-led duo album Shimmy with Medeski Martin & Wood drummer Billy Martin in 2012, Blades returns with a deeply soulful and sinuous nine-track effort, Field Notes, on which he's found fronting his own trio featuring Tortoise guitarist Jeff Parker and New Orleans' drummer Simon Lott.
From the recording's outset, it's easy to picture Blades fingers free-flowing across the keys, feet gliding along the bass pedals in a continuous dance. Syncopation drives songs like "Miller's Time" and "Addis" as the trio locks in tight to a relentless groove. But there's also a refined harmonic vision and deep affection for melody on tracks like "(I Can't Stand) The Whole Lott of You" and "Dewey" where Blades' Clavinet adds a fresh sonic dimension to the proceedings. Shades of psychedelia are weaved within "Parks 'N' Wreck," while a tip of the hat to vintage soul jazz balladry informs "Forgetful" and classic pop swing is at the heart of "I Get The Blues When It Rains."
In its sum, Field Notes is a masterful statement from an artist who's poised to keep the timeless sound of the Hammond B3 organ as vital and compelling today as it's ever been in the history of modern jazz and rock.1. Miller's Time

OVSE-MOV-1271xThe Box Tops
Soul DeepSoul Deep is an essential compilation of The Box Tops' best tracks. Hailing from 1960's Memphis, The Box Tops are best known for the hits The Letter, Cry Like a Baby and Soul Deep, and are considered a major blue-eyed Soul group of the period.
They performed a mixture of current Soul music songs by artists such as James & Bobby Purify and Clifford Curry, Pop tunes such as A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum, and songs written by their producers, Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham, and Chips Moman.
Their records are prime examples of the styles made popular by Moman and Penn at American Sound Studio in Memphis. Many of their lesser known Top 40 hits, including Neon Rainbow, I Met Her in Church, and Sweet Cream Ladies, Forward March, are considered minor classics.1. The Letter

Highway QueenNikki Lane's remarkably dazzling third album,
Highway Queen, sees the
young Nashville rebel emerge as one of country and
rock's most gifted songwriters. Produced by Lane
and fellow singer-songwriter Jonathan Tyler, and
recorded in Denton, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee,
Highway Queen is an emotional tour-de-force.
Blending potent lyrics, unbridled blues guitars and
vintage Sixties country-pop swagger, Lane's new music
will resonate as easily with Black Keys and Lana
Del Rey fans as those of Neil Young and Tom Petty.
Highway Queen starts with the whiskey-soaked
restlessness of "700,000 Rednecks," a rowdy call to
action, and ends on the profoundly raw "Forever
Lasts Forever," where Lane belts freely, mourning
a failed marriage - the "lighter shade of skin" left
behind from her wedding ring. Lane's journey to
heartbreak takes exquisite turns. "Companion" is
pure Everly Brothers' dreaminess ("I would spend a
lifetime/ Playing catch you if I can"). Elsewhere, she
goes on a Vegas bender on the rollicking "Jackpot,"
fights last-call blues ("Foolish Heart") and tosses
off brazen one-liners at a backroom piano ("Big
Lane, a Greenville, South Carolina native, is a unique
songwriter who didn't take the traditional country
artist path. Her backwoods roots are undercut by
her chosen career as a fashion entrepreneur (she's
the owner of vintage clothing boutique High Class
Hillbilly) who has lived - and been heartbroken
in - Los Angeles, New York and Nashville. So it's no
surprise that her music seamlessly crosses musical
genres with lyrics steeped in the doomed perseverance
only a true dark horse romantic knows.
Lane's rapid rise in music is thanks to the fervent critical
acclaim of her debut record Walk of Shame
and 2014's Dan Auerbach-produced All Or
Nothin'. With Highway Queen, 2017 is poised
to be Lane's major mainstream breakthrough. So as
she sings on the title track: place your bets, if you

The Songs Of Bob Dylan, Vol. 1 (Pre-Order)On Songs of Bob Dylan, Joan Osborne unleashes her sizable gifts as a vocalist and interpreter upon The Bard's celebrated canon. With performances honed by the time Osborne spent polishing them during Joan Osborne Sings The Songs Of Bob Dylan - two critically acclaimed two-week residencies she performed at New York City's CafÉ Carlyle in March 2016 and 2017, the seven-time Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum-selling singer and songwriter, whom The New York Times has called a fiercely intelligent, no-nonsense singer, winds her supple, soulful voice around Dylan's poetic, evocative lyrics, etching gleaming new facets in them along the way.
The album spans Dylan's beloved standards from the '60s and '70s (Masters of War, Highway 61 Revisited, Rainy Day Women #12 & 35, Buckets of Rain,Tangled Up In Blue) to some of Osborne's favorites from his later albums, including Dark Eyes (from 1985's Empire Burlesque), Ring Them Bells (from 1989's Oh Mercy), Tryin' To Get To Heaven (from 1997's Time Out of Mind), and High Water (from 2001's Love and Theft). His versions are legendary and I'm not trying to improve on them, Osborne says. I'm just trying to sing beautiful songs and let people hear them. It's about trying to give a different shade of meaning to something that's already great.1. Tangled Up In Blue
