180 Gram Vinyl Includes 4 Page Insert

Surfacing is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan. It was released in July 1997, coinciding with the start of McLachlan's Lilith Fair tour. As the organizer of this tour, McLachlan was on the cover of magazines across America and Canada. Surfacing benefited enormously from this. The album was a commercial success worldwide, reached a top position on the Canadian Albums chart and went to number two on the US Billboard 200.

The award winning album includes the hits "Angel", "Adia" and "Building A Mystery".

200-Gram Triple LP 45 Rpm Gatefold Reissue From Analogue Productions

    Mastered By Bernie Grundman

Plated And Pressed At Quality Record Pressings!

Features Great Mclachlan Hits Performed Live: Building A Mystery, I Will Remember You, Adia And Angel

The Analogue Productions/QRP pressing reissue treatment delivers sonics and luxury packaging second to none for discerning collectors. Now we've given three titles by Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan this premier makeover and you reap the benefits: Solace, Mirrorball and Afterglow.

Grafted from McLachlan's supremely satisfying 1998 performances, Mirrorball is drawn almost equally from the multiplatinum Surfacing and its superior predecessor, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. (Included also is the lovely, hard-to-come-by 'I Will Remember You.') Live, a haunting ballad such as Possession becomes a fevered, aggressive bit of psychedelia. Hold On reveals new depths when performed behind the beat with morphing time signatures and driving piano.

McLachlan's warmly expressive voice is still at the epicenter of her performances. She roams through these 14 songs with agile ease, riding the rails between singing for dramatic arena effect - huskily growling, airily trilling - and knowing what to play down with her sensually controlled crooning (witness such gems as Fumbling's title song and 'Good Enough'). Overall, McLachlan's vocals match the heavily percussive intensity of her band and the build of her backing vocalists, producing a more spacious sound than the precise pitch rendered on her studio recordings. - Amazon.com

Features Into The Fire And Path Of Thorns

The Analogue Productions/QRP pressing reissue treatment delivers sonics and luxury packaging second to none for discerning collectors. Now we've given three titles by Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan this premier makeover and you reap the benefits: Solace, Mirrorball and Afterglow.

Solace, McLachlan's second album, is considerably more mature and musically sophisticated than her 1988 debut, the promising if limited Touch. In fact, this disc is a must-have for McLachlan fans whose first encounter with her work was with her extremely popular later releases, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy and Surfacing.

The opening track, 'Drawn to the Rhythm,' is a habit-forming gem of a song that soars on her smooth and heady soprano and Ronald Jones's addictive drums (though the drone of the billatron in the chorus seems incongruous). The rumbling, electric 'Into the Fire' grooves with a funky bass line; the lovelorn 'Path of Thorns' and 'I Will Not Forget You' are straight-ahead and bluesy. Always wise beyond her years, McLachlan displays a new awakening with introspective songs such as the Sinead O'Connor-esque 'Lost and Shelter.' The hymnlike 'Mercy' is the least interesting song - spare in comparison to the others - but it is a wondrous showcase of her multifaceted voice. Without a doubt, Solace is a testament to McLachlan's ever-swelling talent. - Amazon.com

McLachlan's rebellion is hushed on Afterglow, her first studio album since 1997's Surfacing. At times even the piano chords at the heart of the sound are tucked neatly beneath layer upon layer of strings and overdubbed voices. Listen to what's being sung within this soothing aural bed, though, and hear the just-before-sleep murmurings of the quietest riot grrl: I'm a train wreck waiting to happen.... a wildfire born of frustration, How stupid could I be.... you're no good for me, but you're the only one I see, I have to push just to see how far you'll go. The latter song (Push) resolves itself with the assurance, You complete me. Ultimately, McLachlan fans will be comforted again by what turns out to be her reliably untroubled aesthetic. -Amazon.com

    Shine On

Three Time Grammy Winner and legendary singer songwriter makes her Verve debut with her eighth studio album, SHINE ON. Sarah has sold over 40
million albums in her career and is one of the most respected female artists in music today.

The new album was recorded in Vancouver with longtime collaborator/producer Pierre Marchand (the co-writer of hits like Adia and Building a
Mystery), along with contributions from producer/songwriter Bob Rock (Michael BublÉ, Nelly Furtado) and keyboardist Vincent Jones.

In a press release, McLachlan revealed that the album was inspired by her father's passing and her own appreciation of life: "This album is about moving
through the second half of my life in a more mindful and meaningful way, recognizing that every day, every moment is precious and though we all have
our issues and problems, our damages, we all have the ability to continue to learn, grow from our experiences, thrive and shine on. Many of the songs are
inspired at least partially or wholly by my father's passing three years ago and the profound effect losing him had on me. I had to find my footing again
without the anchor of his unconditional love.

Plumb fans say her music brings hope and inspiration to their world. It's the highest compliment. Fame and fortune are fleeting, says Plumb, but making a difference in people's lives lasts for eternity. I want to tackle the difficult subjects in life, because I want people to know that the hard times, just like a piece of coal, can be turned into a diamond. So confesses singer/songwriter Plumb, an artist whose music blends the complex, feminine poignancy of Suzanne Vega and Sarah McLachlan with the sophisticated, modern rock of Shirley Manson from Garbage or Amy Lee of Evanescence.

Although Plumb's songs have sold millions of records for other artists, it's as a solo artist that her contribution to music can be felt most deeply. Plumb's music has appeared in Television shows ranging from Dawson's Creek, Felicity, ESPN's March Madness and more. Major motion pictures and soundtrack exposure include Bruce Almighty, Just Married, The Story Of Us, Loser, View From The Top, Drive Me Crazy, The Perfect Man and Evan Almighty. Plumb songs have also been recorded by the likes of Michelle Branch, Mandy Moore, Jennifer Page and more. Having achieved exposure in a variety of outlets as well as radio formats, Plumb's fans reach across multiple demos.

I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got

I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got became SinÉad O'Connor's popular breakthrough on the strength of the stunning Prince cover Nothing Compares 2 U, which topped the pop charts for a month. But even its remarkable intimacy wasn't adequate preparation for the harrowing confessionals that composed the majority of the album. Informed by her stormy relationship with drummer John Reynolds, who fathered O'Connor's first child before the couple broke up, I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got lays the singer's psyche startlingly and sometimes uncomfortably bare. The songs mostly address relationships with parents, children, and (especially) lovers, through which O'Connor weaves a stubborn refusal to be defined by anyone but herself. In fact, the album is almost too personal and cathartic to draw the listener in close, since O'Connor projects such turmoil and offers such specific detail. Her confrontational openness makes it easy to overlook O'Connor's musical versatility. Granted, not all of the music is as brilliantly audacious as I Am Stretched on Your Grave, which marries a Frank O'Connor poem to eerie Celtic melodies and a James Brown Funky Drummer sample. But the album plays like a tour de force in its demonstration of everything O'Connor can do: dramatic orchestral ballads, intimate confessionals, catchy pop/rock, driving guitar rock, and protest folk, not to mention the nearly six-minute a cappella title track. What's consistent throughout is the frighteningly strong emotion O'Connor brings to bear on the material, while remaining sensitive to each piece's individual demands. Aside from being a brilliant album in its own right, I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got foreshadowed the rise of deeply introspective female singer/songwriters like Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan, who were more traditionally feminine and connected with a wider audience. Which takes nothing away from anyone; if anything, it's evidence that, when on top of her game, O'Connor was a singular talent.

    Fanatic

The first album of new music from Ann and Nancy Wilson since 2010's Red Velvet Car had its Top 10 debut in 2010, Fanatic was recorded in hotel rooms and studios up and down the West Coast, with Grammy-winning producer Ben Mink back at the helm with the Wilson sisters drawing from their own lives and personal experiences as inspiration for their music. Dear Old America comes from memories of a military household and is written from the point of view of their father, a Marine Corps officer, returning from war (When I get home, I'm going to own this town/Shine this medal/Wear that crown); Rock Deep (Vancouver) harkens back to the city where Dreamboat Annie was written; and Walkin' Good (a duet with Vancouver resident Sarah McLachlan) captures the joy of finding new life in a new love.

The title song is a celebration of the Wilson's life spirit: Ann and Nancy are fanatics about love, art, truth, and the belief that they can do anything they set their minds to.

Solace is the second studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter and Grammy Award winning Sarah McLachlan. Known for her emotional ballads and mezzo-soprano vocal range, Sarah McLachlan has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Originally released in 1991, Solace was the album that first made Sarah a star in Canada, spawning the hit singles The Path of Thorns (Terms) and Into the Fire and being certified double platinum for sales of 200,000 copies in Canada. Solace also marked the beginning of her partnership with Pierre Marchand. Marchand and McLachlan have been collaborators ever since, with Marchand producing many of McLachlan's albums and occasionally co-writing songs.

The album received favorable reviews internationally and was a good step towards Sarah's commercial breakthrough outside of Canada, which came with her third full album, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy.

The album includes the bonus track Wear Your Love Like Heaven, an amazing cover of the classic Donovan song.

    Lay Me Down

Analogue Productions proudly brings you Lay Me Down, alternative rock /folk / pop diva Nancy Bryans stunning debut album of original songs touching on a variety of emotions from apocalyptic visions and the struggle of the inner soul to sensitively spun tales of love spinning out of control.

Nancy has been likened to Joni Mitchell and Sarah McLachlan but with an edge. Lay Me Down features an all-star group of musicians including producer /guitarist John Koenig, bassists Dan Schwartz (Tuesday Music Club, Linda Perry, Sheryl Crow and more), Jimmy Johnson (James Taylor and more) and Jerry Scheff (Elvis Costello, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley and more), drummers Burleigh Drummond (Ambrosia) and Peter Erskine (Weather Report, Steely Dan and more) and songwriter, acoustic guitarist and vocalist John Bryan.

Nancy Bryan has a crystalline soprano and a mournful songwriting sensibility, highlighted by one of the most dynamic and timbrally pure recordings I've heard in a long time...the disc sounds naturally ambient, crisp and articulate.
