    200 Gram Vinyl LP

As they celebrate a thirty-year career of filling arenas, selling tens of millions of albums and playing songs with which a generation of rock fans came of age, visionary rock legends Rush decided to have a little fun with the music they grew up with. Feedback features covers of songs by The Who, The Yardbirds, Love, Cream, Buffalo Springfield and more, the trio's new LP is a rocking good time for anyone who loves Rush or just classic rock & roll.

Drummer Neil Peart, in the album's liner notes, explains, "It was April of 2004, but Geddy, Alex, and I were channeling back to 1966 and 1967, when we were thirteen- and fourteen-year-old beginners. We thought it would be a fitting symbol to commemorate our thirty years together if we returned to our roots and paid tribute to those we had learned from and were inspired by. We thought we might record some of the songs we used to listen to, the ones we painstakingly learned the chords, notes, and drum parts for, and even played in our earliest bands. The tracks on this collection are songs we liked from the era that we thought we could 'cover' effectively (meaning not too many backing vocals), and have some fun with. The music celebrates a good time in our lives, and we had a good time celebrating it."

    Vapor Trails (On Sale)

2013s celebration of Rush continues with the highly anticipated release of a remixed version of the band 2002s album VAPOR TRAILS. In 2009, two tracks from VAPOR TRAILS ("One Little Victory" and "Earthshine") were remixed for the Retrospective III collection, setting fans into a frenzy in anticipation of a possible remixed version of the entire album being released one day. Four years later, that day is finally approaching.

"Vapor Trails was an album made under difficult and emotional circumstances - sort of like Rush learning how to be Rush again - and as a result, mistakes were made that we have longed to correct. David Bottrills remixes have finally brought some justice and clarity to this deserving body of our work," says Geddy Lee.

"Every song has been given a new life, from the fire of One Little Victory, Secret Touch, and Ceiling Unlimited to the melodic musicality of Sweet Miracle and How It Is these songs have been redeemed. Thank you David!"

Recently, a career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature praised the band for its continuing artistic vitality, noting that "Its true that Rush doesnt mean today what it did in 76 or even 96. It may mean more." Rushs enduring pop culture relevance is perhaps best evidenced by a pair of high profile appearances - a rare national television performance and interview on Comedy Centrals The Colbert Report in 2008 (the bands first TV appearance since 1975), and a pivotal role in the story line of the 2009 hit comedy, I Love You, Man, starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segal, where the band also made a memorable cameo in the film.

Beginning with their self-titled debut album in 1974, their extraordinary body of work - which includes such formidable works as 1976s 2112, 1981s Moving Pictures, 1996s Test for Echo, 2002s Vapor Trails and the latest studio album Snakes & Arrows, made a triumphant debut on the Billboard 200 upon its initial release in 2007, entering the chart in the #3 spot. The albums success marked Rushs highest chart debut since 1993, as well as the groups eleventh top ten album in the U.S. Rush has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and garnered untold legions of devoted and admiring fans. According to the RIAA, Rushs sales statistics place Rush third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band.

By 1993, alternative rock had arrived in a big way, and surprisingly, Canadian veterans Rush were game, releasing their most honest and organic rock & roll record in over a decade with Counterparts. Opener "Animate" is straightforward enough, but doesnt even hint at the guitar ferocity and lyrical angst of "Stick it Out," a song which undoubtedly polarizes Rush fans to this day.

Intellectual melodic rockers like "Cut to the Chase," "At the Speed of Love," and "Everyday Glory" are also present, but diversity continues to rule the day with Geddy Lees bass taking charge on the amazingly somber "Double Agent" and the giddy instrumental "Leave That Thing Alone." Pure hard rock resurfaces on "Cold Fire," but it is the largely acoustic "Nobodys Hero" which provides the albums most gripping moment with an impassioned plea for HIV consciousness and understanding.

    Snakes And Arrows

Features Etched Designs on Side D of the Album

    200 Gram Double LP

A return to their former glory days, Snakes and Arrows shows this seminal prog rock band reclaiming their sonic territory. Its not certain what contributed to this artistic rebirth, but Rush has crafted a historical and emotional odyssey that shows many both where theyve been and where theyre going--from the baroque soundscapes of "The Main Monkey Business," reminiscent of their earliest work to the seductive almost folkloric urgency of "The Way the Wind Blows," which is as dangerous, anxious, and prophetic as anything that Arcade Fire or Mars Volta is doing currently.

Main Lyricist Neil Peart has spent the last decade getting over the death of his wife and daughter, and those tragic events have given his songwriting more depth and gravity as he explores the strengths and limitations of faith in both metaphoric and literal detail.

While never didactic or ponderous, this disc is really an instruction manual for how one conducts themselves with grace and hope through unendurable pain and the vagaries of life. Gone is much of the shrillness of their earlier incarnations--Geddy Lees trademark high pitch shrieks have mellowed considerably and Alex Lifesongs guitar playing has an assurance and freedom that can only come with age. --Jaan Uhelszki

    Clockwork Angels

Rushs Clockwork Angels is the renowned trio's first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner Records.

The recording of Clockwork Angels began in April 2010 with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz - who also collaborated with the band on their last studio album, 2007's Snakes & Arrows. Rush co-produced both records. The first two songs, "Caravan" and "BU2B," were completed during that first session at Nashville's Blackbird studios and performed nightly during the wildly successful Time Machine Tour, which ran from June 2010 to June 2011. Work on Clockwork Angels resumed in the fall of 2011 at Revolution Recording in Toronto after the tour's finale, with additional strings (arranged by David Campbell) recorded at Hollywood's Ocean Way Studios in early 2012.

Lyrically, Clockwork Angels chronicles a young man's quest across a lavish and colorful world of steampunk and alchemy as he attempts to follow his dreams. The story features lost cities, pirates, anarchists, an exotic carnival, and a rigid Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life. The novelization of Clockwork Angels is being written by science fiction writer Kevin J. Anderson in collaboration with Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.

Rush - Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart - is without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, equally famed for both its virtuoso musicianship and provocative songwriting.

Recently, a career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature praised the band for its continuing artistic vitality, noting that "Its true that Rush doesnt mean today what it did in 76 or even 96. The history of the ever mighty Rush goes back to 1968 when the group first got together, but it was not until 1974 that the band proper with Neal Peart joining Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson to make for the line-up we have known and loved ever since came to the fore.

Peart joined just two weeks before Rushs first US tour and it was during this American jaunt that the guys played the infamous Agora Ballroom, Cleveland - a venue at which the group would go onto play numerous more shows during their formative years.

At their 1974 booking however, radio station WMMS radio was on hand to broadcast the whole event across the airwaves and thus make this particular gig a somewhat notorious event as well as being Rushs very first radio broadcast

The set played by the group that hot August evening in Americas dark industrial underbelly, includes songs from their debut album, Rush, and features two early versions of cuts from their sophomore record, Fly by Night

The show also contained a cover of Larry Williams Bad Boy a 1950s rocker and no mistake - plus incredibly, two excellent tracks that have never been released on any previous Rush release; the super-rare Fancy Dancer and Garden Road, both composed in their very earliest incarnation before Neal Peart was on board

The package is completed by three bonus tracks from their second US broadcast, back at the ABC a year later, and again courtesy of their by then long time champions, WMMR Cleveland

All three songs from the 75 set originated on Fly By Night

    Roll The Bones

    200 Gram Vinyl LP

From a lyrical perspective, 1991s Roll the Bones is quite possibly Rushs darkest album (most of the songs deal with death in no uncertain terms), but from a musical point of view, the record treads territory (highbrow melodic hard rock) similar to its recent predecessors, with only a few surprises thrown in for good measure. These include an amusing rap section in the middle of the title track, a welcome return to instrumentals with "Wheres my Thing?," and one of the bands finest songs of the 90s in the gutsy "Dreamline." "Neurotica" is another highlight which lives up to its title, and though their negative subject matter can feel stifling at times, fine tracks like "Bravado," "The Big Wheel," and "Heresy" feature wonderful melodies and arrangements.

    Hold Your Fire

    200 Gram Vinyl

Remastered At Abbey Road Studios Using The Direct To Metal Mastering Audiophile Copper Plating Process, All From Original Analogue Masters

Hold Your Fire is an album in the purest sense; infinitely greater than the sum of its parts, it gradually draws in the listener by slowly revealing its nuances and secrets. While the use of keyboards is still overwhelming at times, Geddy Lee employs lush textures which, when coupled with a greater rhythmic and melodic presence from guitarist Alex Lifeson, results in a far warmer sound than in recent efforts. Of course, drummer Neil Peart is as inventive and exciting as ever, while his lyrics focus on the various elements (earth, air, water, fire) for much of the album. Opener "Force Ten" is the bands most immediate number in years, and other early favorites such as "Time Stand Still" and "Turn the Page" soon give way to the darker mysteries of "Prime Mover" and "Tai Shan." The multifaceted "Lock and Key" is quintessential Rush, and sets the stage for the albums climax with the sheer beauty of "Mission." As was the case with 1976s 2112 and 1981s Moving Pictures, Rush always seem to produce some of their best work at the end of each four-album cycle, and Hold Your Fire is no exception.

    Caress Of Steel

Caress of Steel has been newly-remastered on 200-gram, heavyweight vinyl at legendary Abbey Road Studios using the Direct to Metal Mastering (DMM) audiophile copper plating process, all from original analogue masters. Both the bands second album to be released in 1975 and the bands third release, Caress of Steel, marked RUSHs emergence into more hard prog-rock styles as opposed to the blues-based style of the groups first two albums. Singles included The Necromancer: Return of the Prince and Lakeside Park. Although the album peaked at #148 on the Billboard charts, it has since gone gold in both the U.S. and Canada.

    Presto

    200 Gram Vinyl LP

Presto is generally held by fans to have marked the beginning of a transition period, moving away from a sound dominated by synthesizers and toward more traditional rock instrumentation and pop songwriting. In an interview in Canadian Musician, Geddy Lee explained:

"We wanted [Presto] to be more of a singers album, and I think youll notice that the arrangements musically support the vocals. . . . Neils lyrics to me are a lot more heartfelt. Presently, theyre experience oriented. I think they deal with living . . . This album was a real reaction against technology in a sense. I was getting sick and tired of working with computers and synthesizers. Fortunately, so was [co-producer] Rupert Hine. . . . We made a pact to stay away from strings, pianos, and organs-to stay away from digital technology. In the end, we couldnt resist using them for colour."

    Test For Echo

    200 Gram Vinyl LP

Features Etched Designs on Side D of the Album

Test for Echo is the sixteenth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1996. It marks the final Rush work prior to the tragic events in Neil Pearts life that put the band on hiatus for several years. He recorded a majority of his drum tracks for the album using traditional grip, after receiving drum lessons from jazz instructor Freddie Gruber.

After flirting with alternative rock on Counterparts, Rush returns to classic progressive rock on Test for Echo. Cutting back many of the AOR production flourishes that hampered most of their late-80s and early-90s releases, the band concentrates on the sounds and styles that made albums like Moving Pictures huge successes in the late 70s and early 80s. Test for Echo is all instrumental gymnastics and convoluted song structures, all of which demonstrate each members skills. And the key to the album is the individual performances.

The title track reached #1 on the mainstream rock chart. "Driven" became a bass showcase for Geddy Lee during live performances, while "Resist" was rearranged as an acoustic song on the Vapor Trails and R30 tours. Since then, the band has not performed any tracks from the album in concert.

    Power Windows

    200 Gram Vinyl

Remastered At Abbey Road Studios Using The Direct To Metal Mastering Audiophile Copper Plating Process, All From Original Analogue Masters

Power Windows introduced more keyboard synthesizers into the bands sound. "The Big Money" and "Mystic Rhythms" were both made into music videos featured in MTVs rotation at the time. This was the era in which the band were expanding into new directions from their progressive rock base, and they had on their then recent albums "tightened up their sidelong suites and rhythmic abstractions into balled-up song fists, art-pop blasts of angular, slashing guitar, spatial keyboards and hyperpercussion, all resolved with forthright melodic sense"
