Casket Lottery / Small Brown Bike Split 12

Originally released in 2002 on Second Nature, the Small Brown Bike & The Casket Lottery EP isn't another split release of throwaway songs, but a six-song collaborative effort in the truest sense, one born out of mutual musical respect, admiration and camaraderie. Whether taking turns trading originals, combining music, lyrics and vocals, or coalescing into a unyielding juggernaut, this EP is a unique rarity, as it not only succeeds as a distinct and excellent musical collaboration, but retains each band's formative identity while establishing a brilliant new one in the process.

    Run For Cover

Run For Cover took the heavy metal ingredients of Gary Moore's previous two albums and added a little pop refinement to the mix. Thankfully, this did not compromise the overall heaviness of the record, and Moore even achieves a successful remake of his classic ballad Empty Rooms. Calling on his many friends to help in the studio, Moore obtains fantastic vocal performances from former Deep Purple bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes on Reach for the Sky and All Messed Up; and former Thin Lizzy leader and childhood friend Philip Lynott on the dramatic Military Man. The latter also trades vocals with Moore on the album's biggest single Out in the Fields. Written about the religious turmoil in their native Ireland, it was actually Lynott's final recorded performance before his tragic death. It also presaged the musical and lyrical Irish themes which would dominate Moore's future work.

L.A. based indie supergroup The Living Sisters, comprised of Inara George (The Bird And The Bee), Becky Stark (Lavender Diamond), Eleni Mandell and newest 'sister' Alex Lilly, have followed up their critically adored 2010 album Love to Live with the standards collection, Run For Cover. The six song EP, with its intricate retro harmonies and righteously old-school instrumentation from the likes of drummer Don Heffington (Lone Justice, The Jayhawks) and pedal steel master Greg Leisz, provides listeners with some perspective as to the various sources of The Living Sisters' zesty musical recipe, which weaves together 40s pop vocalizing, 50s doo-wop, jazz, folk and country elements in a seamless melange, according to the L.A. Times' Randy Lewis.

    Run The Jewels 3

    Gold Colored Vinyl

    Includes Poster & Sticker Sheet

Run the Jewels have finally announced the full details of their highly anticipated new studio album, RTJ3.

The album features Danny Brown, Kamasi Washington, TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, Trina, Boots, and more. It features the previously released songs "Talk to Me," "Panther Like a Panther (I'm the Shit)," and "2100."

Timothy Saccenti, Run the Jewels' frequent artistic collaborator, made the new album's cover. RTJ shared a statement about how the new album's artwork fits in the trilogy of covers. It depicts the RTJ logo as "a sculpture of the hands cast in metal, chromed, and gold-plated":

For us, the RTJ1 hands were about "taking what's yours"-your world, your life, your attitude. The RTJ2 hands were wrapped in bandages, signifying injury and healing, which for us represented the growth in ideas and tone of that album. For RTJ3 the bandages are off, the chain is gone and the hands have been transformed into gold. For us this represents the idea that there is nothing to take that exists outside of yourself. You are the jewel.

    Run With The Pack (Deluxe)

During a rare break from touring, Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, Simon Kirke and Boz Burrell got together in France to record new songs using the Rolling Stones mobile recording studio. Those sessions produced Run With The Pack, a 10-song album that came out in early 1976 and rose to #4 in England and #5 in America, where it sold three million copies alone. Radio stations embraced the title track along with a cover of The Coasters Young Blood, while Silver, Blue & Gold became one of the band s signature tracks, even though it was never officially released as a single.

The bonus LP that accompanies RUN WITH THE PACK: DELUXE EDITION includes unreleased early mixes for Honey Child and Simple Man, as well as an extended version of the title track. There s also the previously unreleased Let There Be Love, an outtake from the recording sessions. In fact, the acoustic version of Do Right By Your Woman, previously only available as the B-Side of the single release of Run With The Pack, is the only song on the bonus LP that has ever been previously released.

Sunday Run Me Over (Awaiting Repress)

Sunday Run Me Over is the second album released in 2012 by Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs, following early spring's Long Distance, a collection of her older garage rock material re-recorded in a distinctly more Americana/honky tonk style. Long the queen of the garage, Holly Golightly's work with her strange partner Lawyer Dave acting as the entirety of the Brokeoffs has seen the punk energy that brimmed over in scrappy solo albums (or even more so with work in the early femme-stomp of Thee Headcoatees) shift somewhat into a country-tinged sound, possibly a product of her new environment, as Ms. Golightly left her London home for life on the farm in rural Georgia with Lawyer Dave sometime in the late 2000s. The photo of ducks, dogs, and chickens in the artists' backyard that graces the inside cover of Sunday Run Me Over is a far cry from the gritty dive-bar settings imaginable as the backdrop for Golightly's early solo material, and likewise the music is removed from that early garage grit. The fifth album from the duo finds them working in the country-blues mode they've been cultivating for a while, but with more energy and manic gusto than before. Starting off with the down-home holler of Goddamn Holy Roll, overdriven slide guitars and tambourines right out of Sunday morning church service explode out of the speakers, with Holly and Dave in a wild-eyed duet for the entire duration of this spirited stomper. Tones of deep South religion, retribution, and redemption feel buried throughout the record, with humid originals like the rocking Tank and the goofy saloon singalong of One for the Road butting up against traditional country arrangements of old-timey hits like I Forgot More and the Stonesy Hard to Be Humble. The album's down-on-the-farm or confessin'-on-the-pulpit vibes have enough rock & roll in them to keep Sunday Run Me Over in the same boozy, reckless mode of rock that Golightly is famous for, just reconfigured a little bit. The bitterness and spite that tempered the good times rolling on albums like Truly She Is None Other and Serial Girlfriend are still alive and well on tracks like Goodnight, even if sung with a bit more of a drawl than a British accent. All told, the album is a riveting romp of country-fried garage rock recorded on an actual farm. Fans of Golightly's earliest work might miss the garage days, but listening closely will reveal that the spirit of those days is alive and very much kicking.

Falling Faster Than You Can Run (Awaiting Repress)

Well, it doesn't take long for Falling Faster Than You Can Run to reveal that Nathaniel Rateliff isn't in a very good place. His deep funk is revealed very quickly on the opening track 'Still Trying': "If you roll in it long enough/your shit won't even smell" sings Rateliff, in between crying out, unaccompanied, "I don't know/I don't know/a god damned thing".

And that's the feeling that sticks throughout this, often very fine, new record from Denver, Colorado's Missouri-born Rateliff. On his second full-length album (dropping the & the Wheel from his name) loneliness is writ large: not the kind of loneliness from actually being along, but the kind that comes from being constantly surrounded by people yet unable to shake the feeling of complete isolation. Rateliff has toured with many, many acts over the past few years and most recently has spent time with Dr Dog and fellow Denver act (and friends) The Lumineers. Thankfully, Rateliff rarely sounds like his friends (you might say I'm not a fan) and instead writes and plays music with a lot of heart and soul. It's often his voice that's the star of the show thanks to the subtly-arranged instrumentation: part matured Kurt Wagner burr and part throat-ravaged bluesman ( a bit The Tallest Man on Earth) it's a voice you could listen to all day. But good voice is nothing without good songs, and Rateliff comes with plenty of ammunition on Falling Faster Than You Can Run.

"Still Trying" is an arresting opener; while Rateliff's heart-wrenching roars are the highlight, the backing isn't too shabby either - acoustic guitar and bass drum battle for the spotlight on a ragged country song, and it sounds authentic, like Rateliff has lived what he's singing. And things get better quickly: "I Am" is mostly just Rateliff and his guitar, as broaches his isolation singing: "you'll never know what's buried there / less you dig around". The music swells as he sings the title over and over, following a similar pattern to the album opener. But before things get too familiar, Rateliff picks up the pace with a couple of full band numbers that could almost be considered jaunty, if we were to ignore the lyrics. "Don't Get Too Close" is fine enough and ticks over nicely like a quickstep, but "Laborman" is even better. Like Wilco at their poppiest, it flies off on crunchy and bright electric guitars which belies the lyrical content: "I got a feelin' / a sleepin' depression / that somebody's gonna get hurt", sings Rateliff, followed by "you got the harness/so where you gonna drag me now?" You can see a pattern developing here; Rateliff's stuck somewhere he doesn't want to be, lonely, but how does he get out of it? Take another look at that album cover too - a couple share a bed, an arm reaches out yet it doesn't touch the other person. It's basically a visual encapsulation of what's being sung about.

The epic electric storm of "Forgetting Is Believing" leads a trio of great closing tracks, ending with the Lambchop-murmur of the title track. Rateliff's baritone is exposed and dusty as he sings "leave me alone/you can see me fall/faster than you can run", ending as he started the record - alone and isolated.

Falling Faster Than You Can Run feels, through the dirt, the shit and the whisky, and despite the loneliness, like a hard-earned triumph for Nathaniel Rateliff.

    Songs For Slim

THE SONGS FOR SLIM series was constructed in order to raise
money for former Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap's medical costs,
the result of a massive right brain stroke he suffered in 2012. Fellow
Replacements members Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson
reunited and recorded an original Slim Dunlap song plus three
additional covers. Original Replacements drummer Chris Mars also
recorded a Slim cover and all five tracks were combined on a limited
edition run of 250 numbered copies of 10" vinyl EPs. These EPs
were auctioned in January and raised a staggering $105,743.42.
Future auctions of split 7" singles with artists such as Steve Earle,
Lucinda Williams, Craig Finn (from The Hold Steady), Deer Tick,
Jakob Dylan, John Doe, The Jayhawks and Frank Black, all covering
Slim's songs, will commence on the 15th of each month and run for

    Beatles For Sale

Sourced From the Original Master Tapes

    Pressed on 180 Gram Vinyl

    Cut at Abbey Road Studios

The Beatles for sale is the fourth Studio Album from The Beatles. After Lennon met Bob Dylan on tour, an influence immediatley swept him over and crept into his song writing. A good example of this are the songs, I Don't Want To Spoil The Party and I'm a Loser, This album also has the band back to doing a slew of covers due to there rigorous touring schedule but still being able to create great compositions like I Feel Fine and its B-side, She's a Woman, which for some reason were not included on the album.

Being at the height of Beatlemania and the forth Beatles record in 21 months, most of the song writing and production were done either in the studio or on days off from performances, with the bulk of the album being done in about three weeks. When finally released on December 4th, 1964, it began a 46-week long run in the charts knocking there last album off the top of the charts for seven weeks.

A team consisting of some of the best producers and engineers in the recording industry were brought together and would spend 4 long years mixing and mastering with some of the most state of the art recording equipment. Treating these records much like a science experiment, engineers ran extensive tests before copying the analog master tapes over into a digital format using 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and carefully removing clicks, vocal pops and poor edits. Never altering the original songs themselves, just polishing them up a bit.

Marc Johnson is joined on the album by Bill Frisell, Pat Metheny and Joey Baron for this recording of soothing, relaxing music.

This date is a surprisingly mellow and melodic affair, particularly when one considers the personnel (bassist Marc Johnson, both Bill Frisell and Pat Metheny on guitars and drummer Joey Baron). Much of the music is comprised of unclassifiable, folkish melodies filled with lyrical guitar solos. Frisell is quite restrained throughout (adding a country feel to many of the songs) and Metheny is less distinctive than usual, alternating between his electric and acoustic guitars, as well as his 42-string pikasso guitar. The quartet performs seven Johnson originals (most memorable is Union Pacific), two by Frisell and one from Metheny. The overall results are pleasing and relaxed music... All Music Guide

I Just Wasn't Made For These Times (Awaiting Repress)

Along with The Beach Boys, the legendary Brian Wilson, the rock and roll genius and ambassador of time honored classic rock and popular song, invented and helped shape the California sound for the entire world to enjoy for over 50 years. His distinct vision and musical imagery for The Beach Boys truly made them one of the first rock bands in history to sell multi-platinum and gold albums to millions of fans around the globe.

In 1996, Brian Wilson and long-time admirer superstar producer Don Was collaborated on what was to become a much applauded project in Wilsons long time solo career. Pre-dating his own Smile album release by several years, I Just Wasnt Made For These Times was a soundtrack to the critically acclaimed documentary which went on to receive several Emmy and Sundance nominations during the films initial run at the theater and on the Disney Channel.

Organically recorded with its minimalistic approach, Don Was reached for and delivered the soulful side of Brian Wilson. For this masterwork, Brian performs a number of his classic Beach Boys hits like The Warmth Of The Sun, Do It Again (featuring daughters Carnie and Wendy Wilson) and album track treasures like Meant For You from Friends, Til I Die from Surfs Up and of course the Pet Sounds classic Caroline, No.

For this album, Brian Wilson also included some of his later solo hits like Love And Mercy, Melt Away and a very rare home studio demo of Still I Dream Of It, plus even more Beach Boys classics like This Whole World from Sunflower.

In an effort to continually offer the consummate music fan with the greatest recordings of all time, Friday Music proudly presents for the first time ever on 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl, Brian Wilsons classic masterpiece I Just Wasnt Made For These Times.

Impeccably mastered from the original MCA Records tapes by long time Beach Boy friend and associate Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios with Kevin Gray, I Just Wasnt Made For These Times is a brilliant recording for the audiophile vinyl domain.

In addition to the wonderful music contained on this stunning release, to celebrate this limited edition album, Friday Music is also including a wonderful gatefold cover which features the original artwork elements from the compact disc release, rare photographs, as well as Don Was' recollections and Brian Wilsons special notes from the original artwork.

    Charmer

Between the power pop melodies of early Saves the Day and the hard driving
folk rhythms of Fleetwood Mac lies TIGERS JAW, a band who's raw immediacy
is infectious and intoxicating. Shimmering organ textures, chunky guitar chords,
and male/female vocal harmonies show the Scranton, PA natives taking rural
rock music from its legendary past to its vibrant future. Among the more innovative acts on Run For Cover Record's star studded roster, TIGERS JAW have a
profound musical purity that is as equally stirring in a basement of 40 people as
it is in a club of 1,000.

    Holy Ghost

Just a few years after self-recording their debut album between college classes, Philadelphia's Modern Baseball will show the world a brand new version of themselves on their third full-length album, Holy Ghost. Thematically, the record is a time-capsule for the two years since the release of their Run For Cover debut You're Gonna Miss It All, curated in two parts by the band's guitarists and main songwriters, Jacob Ewald and Brendan Lukens. Splitting the record into two halves, both take the helm to curate the sonic journey into territory both familiar and foreign in the band's discography. Whether it be on the stream of consciousness report on the down-trodden Every Day" or the heartbreaking, question-filled lyrics on "Apple Cider, I Don't Mind," it becomes clear that Holy Ghost is a certainly transformative record for a band maturing into greatness.

Crying would not be possible without the power of nostalgia. The New York-based band is a blend of all things old-school: they mix an understated 90's emo
influence, the spirit of punk in their original vision, and, most notably, the prominent use of a Gameboy programmed into their songs. Their first release on Run
For Cover includes the critically acclaimed self-released EP, "Get Olde," and
a set of new songs on the EP "Second Wind." All of the thirteen songs have an
upbeat eloquence, but the highlight of the album is vocalist Elaiza Santos, who
beautifully navigates through the unpredictable grooves of each song and makes
herself the centerpiece of the soundtrack.

    Observatory Mansions

2014 Cult-Classic Album Available For The First Time On Vinyl

Nicole Dollanganger has been quietly crafting her own world since 2012. Over a number of self-released
albums recorded mostly in her own bedroom and bathroom, her signature style of gothic folk is inspired by
countless influences, none more than the archetype of the love song. Dollanganger's signature lyricism is
front-and-center - usually accompanied by barely more than a few lonesome chords, narratives are idyllic,
yet haunting - dream-like, yet startlingly real.

Run For Cover Records will be reissuing two early-yet-masterful pieces of Nicole Dollanganger's
catalog on vinyl: 2013's Ode To Dawn Wiener: Embarrassing Love Songs & 2014's Observatory
Mansions. The thesis of "Ode to Dawn Wiener" is as straightforward as its subtitle, but over ten songs
it becomes clear that there is much more to these songs than what they offer at the surface. "Observatory
Mansions" shows Nicole's songwriting progressing, with reverb-soaked guitars, echoing synths & stirring
samples coming together only to intensify the pull of her stories of love, violence, sexuality and death - all
of which would be horrifying if they weren't so enchanting - a recurring yet poetic tension in Nicole Dollanganger's
    world.

For as long as they've been a band, teen suicide's catalog has been as alluring as it has been elusive. Now the first time, two of the band's most sought after early EPs, dc snuff film and waste yrself, will be available together across all formats via Run For Cover Records this winter.

These 18 tracks have been remastered to provide the best sound quality possible while still retaining the noisy, lo-fi sound that is an integral part of the teen suicide's essence. i will be my own hell because there is a devil inside my body

Teen suicide's first & only proper album, 'i will be my own hell because there is a devil inside my body', has been a sought after release for many collectors after it's ultra-limited vinyl release in 2012. Now, Run For Cover Records will be reissuing my own hell, with remastered audio, expanded artwork and 8 never-before-issued bonus tracks. Across the album's 10 songs, the band displays a knack for different sounds and styles. Intimate, keyboard driven tracks like 'cop graveyard' and 'grim reaper' sit beside more energetic full-band outings like 'dead bird skeleton and 'give me back to the sky', the latter even adding an evocative viola, piano and choral arrangement to it's chaotic center.

It's to the band's credit that their more outrÉ moments feel necessary, not distracting. What becomes clear upon listening to 'my own hell' is that beneath the dreamy haze & noisy apathy of teen suicide's recordings exist ernest, extremely well-written pop songs that reflect and express the uncertainty and desperation of reality.

    White Hot Moon

Ann Arbor's Pity Sex built the world of White Hot Moon, their second album, inch-by-inch. The band is using the foundation of 2013's celebrated Feast of Love as the framework for something bigger, stronger, and altogether more monumental. Coming off of tours with Ceremony, Eskimeaux, and Colleen Green-including a run in Australia-the band dove into the studio with Feast of Love producer Will Yip to harness that momentum into an album to showcase Pity Sex's growth. And if White Hot Moon wears its ambition on its sleeve, that's by design: the band looked to wide-screen albums by Yo La Tengo and Sonic Youth for inspiration in finding a bigger sound. That shows: Drake and Greaves spin huge webs of sound, anchored in shoegaze but branching off in a dozen directions, from fuzzed-out power-pop ("Bonhomie") to shimmering balladry ("Dandelion") and back again, while St. Charles and Pierce lock into step subtly counterintuitive rhythms and floor-shaking low-end. The result of this playful but dedicated approach to their craft: wherever you visit White Hot Moon, you'll come away refreshed, revitalized, and ready for Pity Sex to guide you along the rest of the trip.

He may not be a mainstream mainstay, but mention the name Walter Schreifels to
anyone even tangentially involved in the punk or hardcore scene and chances are you'll be met
with borderline reverence. From his tenure in legendary hardcore bands like Gorilla Biscuits and
Youth Of Today to his work in the pioneering post-hardcore act Quicksand and cult favorites like
Rival Schools, Schreifels has proved himself to be one of the most talented and diverse songwriters
of his generation. Over two decades after GB released their landmark album Start Today,
Schreifels transcended his hardcore roots and showed another side of his constantly shifting skin
with his solo debut An Open Letter To The Scene.

From stripped-down acoustic meditations like the album's title track to Schreifels' psychedelic-tinged
cover of Agnostic Front's "Society's Sucker" and an intricately arranged version
of his CIV Classic "Don't Gotta Prove It," An Open Letter To The Scene is arguably the first
project Schreifels has ever recorded that manages to incorporate all of his diverse influences and
recontextualize them into a cohesive whole.
