    Rock And Roll Pills

In the mid-'80s, Alain Pourquier aka Ding Dong, the legendary French Rock n Roll DJ, was allowed access to the Sun vaults, where he unearthed countless gems from the legendary labels catalog including many previously unheard or rare versions of tracks. He then complied these tracks into a series of seminal albums including the 1956 release Rock And Roll Pills. The mixed sex 14-song romp features material from Jean Chapel, Babara Pittman, Maggie Sue Wimberly, Wade & Dick, Macy 'Skip' Skipper, Jimmy Williams, The Kirby Sisters and Carl McVoy. 180g vinyl remastered from the original tapes.

The Coasters 1960 meet-the-band LP wherein the singers are presented not as a group but as individual soloists, represented a complete departure from what they rose to fame for. If their previous material was marked musically by its rock and roll teen-age based orientation and a deeply satirical approach to the lyrics, this album is notable for its musical maturity instead, with swingin, jazz-inspired arrangements brought on by a full complement of musicians and an expensive production. As a result, One By One appealed not only to the youthful fan-base, but to adults of a more cultivated and advanced musical taste.

    Rock And Roll Over

    180g Audiophile Vinyl Reissue

Remastered To High Definition 192kHz/24-bit Audio For Maximum Fidelity

Celebrating four decades of decibels, KISS, Mercury Records and UMe proudly announce reissuing the legendary KISS albums on 180g audiophile vinyl. Remastered to high definition 192kHz/24-bit audio for maximum fidelity, these albums have never sounded so amazing and now
vinyl collectors will get what they've been demanding. All posters, sleeve art, stickers, etc that appeared in the original LP release where applicable have
been faithfully reproduced for the KISS Army.

With the massive success of their previous album, the experimental Bob Ezrin-produced Destroyer (which contained the surprise ballad hit Beth), Kiss could have taken the safe route and continued in that direction -- or return to the raw hard rock of their first four albums. They chose the latter. Hooking back up with Eddie Kramer, the producer of their 1975 breakthrough release Alive! and their very first demo, Kiss rented out the Nanuet Star Theater in upstate New York to record their next album, Rock and Roll Over. With a more direct, in-your-face production, Rock and Roll Over is one of Kiss' most consistent records. Two of the album's best tracks became hit singles -- the sleazy hard rocker Calling Dr. Love and an acoustic ballad that was originally intended for Rod Stewart, Hard Luck Woman (later covered by country star Garth Brooks). But like all other classic rock albums, the lesser-known material is often just as strong -- I Want You and Makin' Love became concert staples over the years, while Mr. Speed is one of the most underrated songs in Kiss' catalogue. Also included are the fan favorites Take Me, Ladies Room, Love 'Em and Leave 'Em, and the original version of See You in Your Dreams, which was later re-recorded for Gene Simmons' 1978 solo album.

    Rock And Roll Animal

Following his somber 1973 concept album Berlin, Lou Reed switched gears once again with 1974's Rock 'n' Roll Animal, a searing live set recorded at Howard Stein's Academy of Music in New York in December of 1973 with his road band at the time which featured the twin guitar attack of Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter. The 5-song set primarily consists of extended arrangements of former Velvet Underground classics including a 13-minute plus version of Heroin, and a 10-minute Rock 'n' Roll to go along with more concise takes on Sweet Jane and White Light/White Heat. Rock 'n' Roll Animal amplifies the music of the Velvet Underground as never before or since and it finds Lou Reed doing what he does best, challenging the status quo with artistic ambition and restless abandon.

The idea for Rock and Roll Joe began during Chip Taylor's Scandinavian tour of 2007. As Chip traveled through Norway and Sweden with his longtime friend and guitarist John Platania, new protege fiddler Kendel Carson, drummer Bryan Owings and bass player Ron Eoff, they talked about everything. But many of the conversations revolved around the musicians that they knew and respected and Chip realized that most music fans didn't really know the people who were behind many of the great records of the last 60 years.

With that in mind, Chip wrote the song, Rock and Roll Joe. That song prompted several more, with everyone in the band suggesting more songs in need of the spotlight. At the end of the tour back in London, the band quickly recorded the new songs and the Rock and Roll Joe album was born.

Chip Taylor and Train Wreck Records have also launched a website that will promote and honor the unsung heroes of rock music. The history of rock is filled with people such as Hank Garland and Mickey Baker who were instrumental in shaping the sound of today's best music. Yet their contributions are barely recognized. In addition to the underappreciated musicians and session players, there will also be some room to highlight the songwriters, producers and behind the scenes people who helped shape this music.

Rock And Roll Is Black And Blue

Over the course of six full-length albums, Danko Jones has forged a singular sound that draws equally from the blues, '60s garage, '70s hard rock, '80s hardcore, punky power-pop, Scandinavian metal, and classic stand-up comedy records without ever being fully defined by any of those sources.

But while built from the same rudiments, each Danko Jones record possesses a distinct sonic identity. Born A Lion (2002) brought the boogie and sledgehammer soul; We Sweat Blood (2003) was, by contrast, more anxious and aggro. Sleep Is the Enemy (2006) wielded the sharpest hooks. Never Too Loud (2008) was as slick as Below the Belt (2010) was stripped-down.

But, compared to all that's come before, Rock And Roll Is Black And Blue is, hands down, the most emotional and, as a result, the most epic Danko Jones album to date. What you hear on Rock And Roll Is Black And Blue is the Danko Jones ideal blown up to skyscraping proportions, resulting in 13 tracks that are bolder, brasher, and brawnier than anything they've attempted before.

The album is produced in full by their longtime partner in crime Matt DeMatteo and was mixed by Mike Fraser, known for his work with AC/DC and Aerosmith among others. It is also the first album recorded with "new" drummer Atom Willard, the sixth person in Danko Jones history to hold the "drummer" title, but the first to stand on equal creative footing with Danko and his longtime foil, bassist John "JC" Calabrese.

First Urge Overkill Album in 16 Years!

Almost two decades since their Exit the Dragon album and it's Pulp Fiction hit Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon, founding members Nash Kato and Eddie Roeser have decided to reform the group. Joined by former Gaza Strippers guitarist, Hadji Hodgkiss on bass and Cherry Valence's Bon Quast on drums, the Chicago band released the first song off the new album, Effigy in the Fall of 2010 to great response from fans and critics alike. With the energy of their past album's fusion of arena rock and punk coupled with the evolution of Kato and Roeser's songwriting over the years, Rock & Roll Submarine is set to deliver a new breed of Urge Overkill to the eagerly awaiting masses.

Planet Earth: The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Greatest Rap Hits

Released as a tie-in to Public Enemy's deserved 2013 induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the 2013 compilation Planet Earth is a little confusing and for more than one reason. First, it largely chronicles PE from 1990 on, with only Louder Than a Bomb dating from anything earlier than Fear of a Black Planet, and the cuts from that 1990 album and anything released after aren't exactly pristine. Everything here is just slightly off: either the mastering is brickwalled or samples are excised, but if things are re-recorded -- and it often seems like they are -- they're close enough to the originals to fool. Which is frustrating, as there are some songs that are indeed the originals (Public Enemy No. 1) but others just feel not quite right, and the liner notes never bother to explain why things would sound so different here. It's all still pretty good -- the originals are great and PE still retain muscle years later -- but it's hard to endorse an album that seems to purposely skate around its origins, plus, there are many big songs that should've been here (Bring the Noise, Don't Believe the Hype, Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos, Night of the Living Baseheads, all selections from It Takes a Nation of Millions, are missing). So, Planet Earth winds up falling short of the celebration it intends to be but there are still enough masterworks to make it a serviceable sampler even if it never transcends that designation.

Rock n Roll Consciousness is a new and exhilarating chapter for Thurston Moore, and promises to be a creative
