    Time Takes Time

First Time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl First Time Vinyl In North America

Impeccably Mastered By Joe Reagoso At Friday Music & Capitol Records

Manufactured On Limited Edition Translucent Green Vinyl At R.T.I.

    First Time Gatefold Cover

Often considered one of his finest albums since the classic Ringo Lp from 1973, Time Takes Time would become one of the Ringo Starr's most loved works and one of the finer rock recordings of 1992. Featuring the hit single Weight Of The World, Time Takes Time would be the centerpiece of this Beatle's highly successful All Starr Band tour later that year and beyond.

Whenever the legendary Ringo Starr makes a record, there's always a little help from his superstar friends like producers Jeff Lynne, Don Was, Peter Asher and the late Phil Ramone, who all contributed their studio expertise into making Time Takes Time the stellar work that it is.

Along with musicians the caliber of The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson, the late great Harry Nilsson, Steely Dan's Jeff Baxter, and alternate rockers Jellyfish, Time Takes Time would soon become one of the more important albums of the year. While the hit single Weight Of The World became a Ringo Starr fan favorite immediately upon its release, more classics abounded as the rockin' Jeff Lynne produced classic Don't Go Where The Road Don't Go truly shines.

More heartfelt classics like All In The Name Of Love and the magical Don't Know A Thing About Love (penned by Heartbreaker Stan Lynch), as well as The Posie's Golden Blunders truly made this a wonderful listen from start to finish. As CD's were the format of choice in 1992, this fine recording was only released for a short time only in most parts of the world until now ..

Friday Music is very honored to announce the first time North American vinyl release of the Ringo Starr classic Time Takes Time. Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA, this amazing Lp also receives a first time 180 Gram Audiophile Translucent Green Vinyl release. Pressed at R.T.I., for a limited time, this super fine Ringo Starr album will also be housed in a first time gatefold cover which includes rare photos and lyrics not seen in years.

Harry Nilsson's Last Album, Unavailable For Over 30 Years!

Finally Released For The First Time Ever In North America.

Paul McCartney and John Lennon described him as the Beatles' favorite group, he won Grammy awards, wrote and recorded hit songs, and yet no figure in popular music is as much of a paradox, or as underrated, as Harry Nilsson.

Flash Harry was the 16th and final album released by Harry Nilsson. Originally issued only on vinyl in the U.K. and Japan. This legendary album has never been released in the U.S. The album features Nilsson's own recording of Old Dirt Road, co-written and performed with John Lennon on Lennon's album Walls and Bridges (1974), Lennon's last album of original songs before his six year hiatus. Other song collaborators include Lowell George, Van Dyke Parks and Ringo Starr. The title track "Harry" is performed by Eric Idle and Charlie Dore.

    Analog Man

Grammy Award winning rock and roll legend Joe Walsh returns with the Fantasy Records/Concord release Analog Man, his first solo album in two decades! Analog Man is both modern and timelessly soulful, packed with Walsh's beloved wit, charm and chops, all encompassed by an incredibly raw and intimate sound.

Features Walsh's amusing take on the 21st century in the title track and Lucky That Way which boasts a guest appearance by Ringo Starr. The 10-track album was co-produced by Jeff Lynne with Tommy Lee James co-writing some of the songs. It's been 20 years and I have a lot to say, said Walsh. These songs come from the heart.

Walsh, best known for his powerful guitar lick, joined the Eagles in 1976 and is credited for bringing a harder rock sound to the band with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live. A singer/songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Walsh has entertained for more than four decades, not only as a solo artist, but as a part of admired acts like The James Gang and Barnstorm. Fitting to a true Analog Man, the release is pressed on audiophile quality 180g vinyl with a download card.

    Give Till It's Gone

Give Till It's Gone is the 10th studio album from Ben Harper. Harper recorded most of Give Till It's Gone, his first solo full-length since 2006's Both Sides of the Gun, at the Los Angeles studio of Jackson Browne, who harmonizes with him on the wistful Pray That Our Love Sees The Dawn. On Rock 'n' Roll Is Free, the album's first single, Harper pays tribute to an audacious art form that continually challenges the status quo, demanding that we look at the world in a brand new way. The album also features two tracks co-written with Ringo Starr, the exuberant, psychedelic-tinged Spilling Faith and Get There From Here, an improvisational instrumental.

With Give Till It's Gone, Harper examines the disparity between the man he is today and the man he endeavors to become. Reaching deep within, he discovers there are no easy answers, but implores us to go the distance with him on this journey in the moving album opener, Don't Give Up On Me Now. While its songs are highly personal, Give Till It's Gone illuminates the universal struggle to find meaning and to fully engage with life and one another. We may pass through a dark night of the soul, but giving up is not a viable option, as Harper reminds us with certainty in the transcendent I Will Not Be Broken.

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (Anniversary Edition) (On Sale)

Ranked 1/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time!

    50th Anniversary Reissue

Features The New Stereo Mix On The First LP And An Alternative Version Of All 13 Tracks On The Second Vinyl Record, All Previously Unreleased

It was 50 years ago this June 1st when The Beatles' John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr astonished and delighted the world, ushering in the Summer of Love with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, a groundbreaking masterwork that became popular music's most universally acclaimed album. To salute the occasion, The Beatles will release 'Sgt. Pepper' Anniversary Edition.

"It's crazy to think that 50 years later we are looking back on this project with such fondness and a little bit of amazement at how four guys, a great producer and his engineers could make such a lasting piece of art," says Paul McCartney.

"'Sgt. Pepper' seemed to capture the mood of that year, and it also allowed a lot of other people to kick off from there and to really go for it," Ringo Starr recalls.

The Anniversary Edition includes Martin's new stereo mix of the album, which was sourced directly from the original four-track session tapes and guided by the original, Beatles-preferred mono mix produced by his father, George Martin.

This expanded 180-gram 2LP vinyl package features the new stereo album mix on the first LP and adds a second LP with previously unreleased complete takes of the album's 13 songs, newly mixed in stereo and sequenced in the same order as the album.

The album's vibrant artwork, including its extravagant Pop Art cover which finds The Beatles surrounded by a crowd of heroes in a 3D collage, was created by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth in collaboration with the band. The original artwork is presented in a faithful reproduction of the album's original gatefold jacket.

"We hope you will enjoy the show"

Just as many ideas are sparked by chance, 'Sgt. Pepper' first sprang from a conversation between Paul and Beatles roadie Mal Evans on an airplane, when Mal's request to pass the salt and pepper was misheard by Paul as "Sgt. Pepper." The concept of who such a figure could be took root in Paul's mind, blooming with the imagination of The Beatles as an Edwardian era military band -- "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." The Beatles' creative wellspring for 'Sgt. Pepper' also flowed from such myriad sources as The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album, a Victorian circus poster ("Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!"), a TV commercial for breakfast cereal ("Good Morning Good Morning"), a picture drawn by John's young son, Julian ("Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"), a teen runaway reported in the news ("She's Leaving Home'), and Hindu teachings ("Within You Without You").

"Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song"

Using the standard four-track tape recording equipment of the day, The Beatles collaborated with producer George Martin to achieve "the impossible," as they dubbed it, to go as far out as they could with arrangements and new technology to realize their collective vision for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. As George Martin described it, "We were into another kind of art form where you were putting something down on tape that could only be done on tape." The Beatles clocked more than 400 hours in Abbey Road's Studio 2 to record the album, wrapping sessions in April 1967.

"I read the news today oh boy"

Upon its release on June 1, 1967, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band initially spent 148 weeks in the British chart, including a total of 27 weeks at number one. During its first U.S. chart run, the album held the number one spot for 15 of the 88 weeks it appeared in the Top 200. 'Sgt. Pepper' won four GRAMMY Awards®, including Album of the Year, and it remains one of the most influential and bestselling albums of all time. In 2003, the U.S. Library of Congress selected 'Sgt. Pepper' for the National Recording Registry, recognizing the album as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." 'Sgt. Pepper' tops Rolling Stone magazine's definitive list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time."

Long time Billy Joel bandmate Mark Rivera releases his debut album Common Bond in 2014. The album's title is a nod to staying true to your roots and the ties that bind. Mark has worked with Billy Joel for over 30 years and with Ringo Starr for 18 years and both artists make guest appearances on Common Bond. Mark's "band leaders" couldn't be more enthusiastic.

"I LOVE 'Common Bond.' It really rocks in a good old way - like we did back in the day. Your voice sounds great and the band kicks ass. I crank it up in the car," Billy said from backstage at Madison Square Garden.

Backstage on the All-Starr Band's Summer Tour, Ringo said in his trademark wit, "I'm only here to promote Mark Rivera .Mr. Showbiz himself!!"

Mark and producer Jimmy Bralower have assembled a stellar group of musicians to play on Common Bond.

    Plastic Ono Band

Remastered From The Original Tapes By Sean Lennon

This long-overdue vinyl reissue of Yoko Ono's seminal, but massively under-appreciated Plastic Ono Band has all the makings of a classic rock nostalgia trip: Ono, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Klaus Voorman and free-jazz legend Ornette Coleman. All the pieces are here to stir up a dangerous amount of nostalgia. But once the needle drops, the record achieves something exactly perpendicular to nostalgia.

Released in 1971, the album not only influenced the approach of other musicians for decades, it also sounds absolutely modern 44 years out, eternally fresh despite the forward march of time. Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band not only predicted the intersection of the avant-garde and rock that would take place in the second half of that decade, the album would sound right at home at where that intersection is happening today.

At the time of its original release in 2001, Jeff Lynne hadn't released an Electric Light Orchestra album since 1986's Balance of Power. He called upon notable friends for a little help, enlisting contributions from longtime ELO member RICHARD TANDY as well as good friends GEORGE HARRISON and RINGO STARR. The result is an album rich in that distinct ELO sound classic Lynne melodies and songwriting, foot-stomping rock anthems and sweet, sexy strings.

    50th Anniversary Reissue

CD Features The New 'Sgt. Pepper' Stereo Mix, Complete With The Original U.K. Album's "Edit For LP End" Run-Out Groove

The album's vibrant artwork, including its extravagant Pop Art cover which finds The Beatles surrounded by a crowd of heroes in a 3D collage, was created by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth in collaboration with the band.

    Pressed on 180 gram vinyl.

    Double LP

Beautiful packaging that includes double-sided photo montage, lyric sheet and 4 solo color photos.

The Beatles is the ninth official album by the English rock group The Beatles, a double album released in 1968. It is also commonly known as The White Album as it has no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed on its plain white sleeve.

The album was written and recorded during a period of turmoil for the group, after visiting the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India and having a particularly productive songwriting session in early 1968. Returning to the studio, the group recorded from May to October 1968, only to have conflict and dissent drive the group members apart. Ringo Starr quit the band for a brief time, leaving Paul McCartney to play drums on two tracks. Many of the songs were solo recordings, or at least by less than the full group, as each individual member began to explore his own talent.

Upon release in November 1968, the album received largely positive reviews and reached number 1 on the charts in the United Kingdom and the United States. The album is notable for the eclectic nature of its songs, which has divided critics in evaluating its legacy. The album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and was listed at number 10 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

A team consisting of some of the best producers and engineers in the recording industry were brought together and would spend 4 long years mixing and mastering with some of the most state of the art recording equipment. Treating these records much like a science experiment, engineers ran extensive tests before copying the analog master tapes over into a digital format using 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and carefully removing clicks, vocal pops and poor edits. Never altering the original songs themselves, just polishing them up a bit.

'Sgt. Pepper' Presented with New Mixes in Stereo and 5.1 Surround Audio; Expanded with Previously Unreleased Session Recordings, Video Features & Special Packaging

Previously Unreleased 1992 Documentary Film, 'The Making of Sgt. Pepper,' Restored for Anniversary Edition's Super Deluxe Boxed Set

Ranked 1/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time!

To salute the occasion, The Beatles will release a lavishly presented 'Sgt. Pepper' Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition Box Set (4 CD/1 DVD/1 Blu-ray). The album is newly mixed by Giles Martin and Sam Okell in stereo and 5.1 surround audio and expanded with early takes from the studio sessions, including no fewer than 34 previously unreleased recordings.

"It's crazy to think that 50 years later we are looking back on this project with such fondness and a little bit of amazement at how four guys, a great producer and his engineers could make such a lasting piece of art," says Paul McCartney in his newly-penned introduction for the 'Sgt. Pepper' Anniversary Edition.

"'Sgt. Pepper' seemed to capture the mood of that year, and it also allowed a lot of other people to kick off from there and to really go for it," Ringo Starr recalls in the Anniversary Edition's book.

The Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane," were among the first songs recorded during the 'Sgt. Pepper' sessions, which began in November 1966. Rather than being held for inclusion on the album, the two songs were released as a double A-sided single in February 1967. Amidst intense media speculation about the band's next move, the single bridged what was then considered a long gap between the Revolver album, released in August 1966, and 'Sgt. Pepper,' which followed 10 months later.

This is the first time Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band has been remixed and presented with additional session recordings, and it is the first Beatles album to be remixed and expanded since the 2003 release of Let It Be Naked. To create the new stereo and 5.1 surround audio mixes for 'Sgt. Pepper,' producer Giles Martin and mix engineer Sam Okell worked with an expert team of engineers and audio restoration specialists at Abbey Road Studios in London. All of the Anniversary Edition releases include Martin's new stereo mix of the album, which was sourced directly from the original four-track session tapes and guided by the original, Beatles-preferred mono mix produced by his father, George Martin.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition includes:

    • CD 1: New stereo album mix
    • CDs 2 & 3:

      - 33 additional recordings from the studio sessions, most previously unreleased and mixed for the first time from the four-track session tapes, sequenced in chronological order of their recording dates

      - A new stereo mix of "Penny Lane" and the 2015 stereo mix of "Strawberry Fields Forever"
    • CD 4:

      - Direct transfers of the album's original mono mix and the "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane" singles

      - Capitol Records' U.S. promotional mono single mix of "Penny Lane"

      - Previously unreleased early mono mixes of "She's Leaving Home," "A Day In The Life," and "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" (a mix thought to have been erased from a tape in 1967, but discovered during archive research for the anniversary edition)
    • Discs 5 & 6 (Blu-ray and DVD):

      - New 5.1 surround audio mixes of the album and "Penny Lane" by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, plus their 2015 5.1 surround mix of "Strawberry Fields Forever"

      - High resolution audio versions of the new stereo mixes of the album and "Penny Lane" and of the 2015 stereo mix of "Strawberry Fields Forever"

      - Video features: 4K restored original promotional films for "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Penny Lane," and "A Day In The Life;" plus The Making of Sgt. Pepper, a restored, previously unreleased documentary film (broadcast in 1992), featuring insightful interviews with McCartney, Harrison, and Starr, and in-studio footage introduced by George Martin.

"A splendid time is guaranteed for all"

The album's vibrant artwork, including its extravagant Pop Art cover which finds The Beatles surrounded by a crowd of heroes in a 3D collage, was created by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth in collaboration with the band. The original artwork is showcased across the suite of Anniversary Edition releases, including the album's pull-out sheet of 'Sgt. Pepper' cutouts. Housed in a 12-inch by 12-inch box with lenticular artwork and two bonus posters, the six-disc Super Deluxe set is presented with a 144-page hardcover book. The book includes new introductions by Paul McCartney and Giles Martin, and chapters covering comprehensive song-by-song details and recording information, the design of the cover, the album's musical innovations and its historical context by Beatles historian, author and radio producer Kevin Howlett; composer and musicologist Howard Goodall; music producer and writer Joe Boyd; and journalists Ed Vulliamy and Jeff Slate, illustrated with rare photographs, reproductions of handwritten lyrics, Abbey Road Studios documentation, and original 'Sgt. Pepper' print ads.

The Beatles: Live At The BBC (On Sale)

    Newly Remastered For This Reissue

In 1994, The Beatles' Live at the BBC was released to worldwide acclaim - hitting number one in the U.K. and number three in the U.S. and selling more than five million copies within six weeks. Now comes a new companion to The Beatles' first BBC collection, On Air - Live at the BBC Volume 2. On Air's 63 tracks, none of which overlaps with The Beatles' first BBC release, include 37 previously unreleased performances and 23 previously unreleased recordings of in-studio banter and conversation between the band's members and their BBC radio hosts.

In the studios of the British Broadcasting Corporation, The Beatles performed music for a variety of radio shows. On Air - Live at the BBC Volume 2 presents the sound of The Beatles seizing their moment to play for the nation. Thrilled to hear these exciting recordings again, Paul McCartney said, 'There's a lot of energy and spirit. We are going for it, not holding back at all, trying to put in the best performance of our lifetimes.'

Ten of On Air's songs were never recorded by the group for EMI in the 1960s, including two making their debuts with the new release: The Beatles' direct-to-air performance of Chuck Berry's 'I'm Talking About You' and a rocking cover of the standard 'Beautiful Dreamer.' On Air also includes different versions of six rarities heard on the 1994 BBC collection: Little Richard's 'Lucille,' Chuck Berry's 'Memphis, Tennessee,' Chan Romero's 'The Hippy Hippy Shake,' Ray Charles' 'I Got A Woman,' and two songs they learned from records by Carl Perkins, 'Glad All Over' and 'Sure To Fall.'

The Beatles' tribute to the BBC's most important pop show of the early '60s - 'Happy Birthday, Dear Saturday Club' - is another surprise. As John Lennon recalled in 1980, 'We did a lot of tracks that were never on record for Saturday Club - they were well recorded, too.' Paul remembers, 'We'd been raised on the BBC radio programs. One of the big things in our week was Saturday Club - this great show was playing the kind of music we loved, so that was something we really aspired to.'

Between March 1962 and June 1965, no fewer than 275 unique musical performances by The Beatles were broadcast by the BBC in the U.K. The group played songs on 39 radio shows in 1963 alone. Ringo Starr said in 1994, 'You tend to forget that we were a working band. It's that mono sound. There were usually no overdubs. We were in at the count-in and that was it. I get excited listening to them.' On their busiest BBC day, 16 July 1963, The Beatles recorded 18 songs for three editions of their Pop Go The Beatles series in fewer than seven hours.

The group played 88 distinct songs in their BBC sessions - some were recorded many times; others performed just once. At the time, three national BBC stations provided all daytime radio broadcasting in the U.K. Only the Light Programme network might occasionally play a record. Most broadcast music was live music. Consequently, to promote their releases, The Beatles had to play live at the BBC. 'Everything was done instantly,' remembered George Harrison, 'But before that, we used to drive 200 miles in an old van down the M1, come into London, try and find the BBC and then set up and do the program. Then we'd probably drive back to Newcastle for a gig in the evening!'

On Air also features BBC recordings of 30 well-loved songs from The Beatles' catalogue, including five number ones and other favorites such as: 'I Saw Her Standing There,' 'Twist And Shout,' 'Do You Want To Know A Secret,' 'Boys,' 'Please Mister Postman,' 'Money,' 'And I Love Her,' and 'If I Fell.

Like its critically acclaimed predecessor, On Air - Live at the BBC Volume 2 includes audio of The Beatles talking to DJs Brian Matthew and Alan Freeman and Pop Go The Beatles hosts Lee Peters and Rodney Burke. When first broadcast, pop fans were amazed to hear such witty irreverence on the rather formal BBC and it is great fun to hear these extracts now. In addition, On Air releases, for the first time, the group's candid interviews for the Pop Profile series recorded in November 1965 and May 1966.

Newly remastered for reissue on November 11, The Beatles' first Live at the BBC album sounds and looks better than ever. This collection of the group's BBC sessions mixed versions of their hits with a treasure trove of 30 songs The Beatles performed on air but never released on record in the 1960s. The compelling track list ranged from a rare performance of the little known Lennon-McCartney original "I'll Be On My Way" to covers of classic rock 'n' roll and contemporary rhythm and blues songs. At the time of its release, Live at the BBC was hailed by Rolling Stone as "an exhilarating portrait of a band in the process of shaping its own voice and vision." It earned a GRAMMY® Award nomination for Best Historical Album.

Live at the BBC was assembled by George Martin in 1994 and On Air - Live at the BBC Volume Two was compiled and researched by producers Kevin Howlett and Mike Heatley. Both albums have been meticulously mastered by engineers Guy Massey and Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios. The booklets for both collections include Kevin Howlett's essays on the history of The Beatles' BBC radio sessions and his detailed commentaries on all of the tracks.

Blue Suede Shoes (Out Of Stock)

Written in October 1955 and released in January 1956, 'Blue Suede Shoes' was an instant classic earning a place in the history books when it became the first million-seller to crossover from the Country chart to the Pop and R&B listings. Swiftly covered by Elvis Presley and later The Beatles, the song remains a Rock'n'Roll anthem. Fitting then that Carl Perkins, the man who wrote and first performed 'Blue Suede Shoes', should be accorded a television special to celebrate its 30th anniversary. On 21st October 1985 at London's Limehouse Studios a superstar cast of friends and fans joined Carl Perkins to record a TV special celebrating his career and the classic songs that he had recorded during it.

Perkins was joined on stage by George Harrison and Eric Clapton along with other stars including Dave Edmunds, Slim Jim Phantom and Lee (Stray Cats) Rocker plus Earl Slick and singer Roseanne Cash, daughter of the legendary Johnny Cash.

George Harrison struck up a lasting friendship with Perkins and much of the continued interest in the programme lies in the prominent role played by Harrison. The former Beatle takes lead vocal on several tracks as well as playing guitar and having a great time. The Beatles connection is even stronger in that Harrison is joined by former colleague Ringo Starr with the show representing their first reunion gig since the mid-1970's.

This album captures the concert and the All-Star band performing Perkins' finest songs including Blue Suede Shoes, That's Alright Mama and Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this unique show Madfish are releasing the concert on vinyl for the first time. Carl Perkins & Friends - Blue Suede - A Rockabilly Session is being presented as a gatefold double 10" vinyl with liner notes from Sam Szczepanski, who was one of the lucky fans who managed to get a ticket to the show.
