    Chord Hugo TT DAC

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.

The new Hugo TT offers numerous improvements over Hugo and a substantial improvement in sound quality. Larger batteries and new super capacitors give the Hugo TT more power, galvanic isolation on the USB input completely eliminates jitter, increased Class A bias reduces distortion, plus the Hugo TT is now a balanced design. As a result, the Hugo TT has more power, better dynamics, greater dynamic headroom, a smoother, more natural sound and better soundstage recreation.

Ease of use is improved by a new front-mounted input selector, cross-feed selector, power on/off switch, LED display of selected input, retention of selected input after power down, better accommodation of audio cables, a full function remote control and new single ended and balanced outputs. Apt-X Bluetooth range is increased to 150' and a 75ohm coaxial input has been added. Finally, Hugo TT is built to last with a beautifully machined solid aluminum case and a 15 - 20 year battery life.

With the new Hugo TT (Table Top) we've built on the extraordinary success of our genre-defining Hugo DAC/headphone amplifier. The new larger desktop-orientated device offers greater connectivity including a USB-B input, XLR outputs, two quarter inch headphone outputs, plus improved performance and features.

Compared to the more mobile Hugo, the Hugo TT gains a new larger chassis, remote control, an alphanumeric LED display with input/sample rate data, and improved sonic performance thanks to supercapacitors.

    ADVANCED SAMPLE RATE CAPABILITY

The Hugo TT is ready to take advantage of today's advanced studio-master-quality (DXD) music files allowing music lovers to experience music in true high definition, along with the best possible reproduction of CD-quality music. Hugo TT supports up to 32-bit/384kHz audio via coax and USB, and 24-bit/192kHz over optical, plus DSD64 on all inputs and DSD128 via coax or USB (all via DoP).

In a key upgrade over the original Hugo, the Hugo TT benefits from a high-quality asynchronous B-type USB connection for both the SD and HD USB input. With two further digital inputs: a (new) BNC coaxial and optical (TOSLink), any connected component with a digital output can benefit from the Hugo TT's advanced sound quality.

    BLUETOOTH

To fully integrate with today's digitally stored media, the new Hugo TT also has A2DP Bluetooth capability and uses a custom-made module with the aptX codec to feed a digital signal directly into the DAC circuitry, so even without cables, music can still be enjoyed.

    SPARTAN 6 FPGA

The Hugo TT retains the same high-performance Spartan 6 FPGA that enabled Hugo to redefine the DAC genre in 2014. It has the same specification and measured performance as its mobile sibling, a device that broke all records for dynamic range in leading UK hi-fi magazine, Hi-Fi World, in the summer of 2014.

    SUPERCAPACITORS

Being a home-orientated device, the Hugo TT has been designed to run continuously from the supplied charger, however Chord's engineers have also improved the battery and added Supercap energy storage, a technology seen in F1 where supercacitors back-up the cars batteries by sharing the load and charge demands, thereby protecting them. They serve a similar purpose in the Hugo TT, extending the battery life as well as improving dynamics and demanding transients in recorded music.

    Handcrafted in the USA

The famous Manley Stingray stereo integrated amplifier has been renewed and refreshed. Allow us to present to you the Stingray II integrated tube amplifier with full featured RF and IR remote control. We also make another model with a built-in iPod dock called the Stingray iTube that you can learn about here.

The STINGRAY II is the next evolution from our acclaimed Stingray Integrated Amplifier, legendary in the hifi world since it first swam from our labs in 1997. Originally conceived with particular attention paid to optimal component placement for the purity and symmetry of the signal path layout, the Stingray quickly became one of our best-selling products. The Stingray II retains the same basic tube circuitry and marvelous output transformers as the original with some important improvements:

The high voltage tube energy storage has been increased vastly resulting in even more solid and coherent bass control and impact.

A headphone jack has been added to the right side facia. This jack re-routes the output from the speaker binding posts and mutes the Subwoofer output feed. This makes the Stingray II a fabulous headphone amplifier!

The 4th input source is an 1/8 (3.5mm) TRS mini jack for convenient hookup with portable devices and computers on the left front facia.

The Remote Control works with both Radio Frequency and InfraRed technologies. Using the remote in RF mode gives freedom from having to point and shoot. The RF remote is omnidirectional and works through walls and cabinets. IR capability is included for those with Universal Learning Remote Controls for consolidated integration into existing systems. The volume control, balance adjust, input switching, and display options are all on the RF/IR Remote Control. Additionally user can perform the MUTE, DIM, INSERT and STANDBY commands with the Remote Control.

Each INPUT can be individually level trimmed to match and to optimize system gain staging of various input devices.

The fancy blue LED displays surrounding the INPUT and VOLUME encoder knobs can be dimmed down or turned off entirely, after a user-settable time period, or a screen-saver random light sequence can be selected. Speed and intensity of the Starlight mode can be tweaked to taste.

All custom user settings are hard written into memory when the unit is put into STANDBY mode and thus retained if power is later interrupted.

There is even a SLEEP timer which is programmable from the remote control to allow you to drift off carefree dreaming of your musical Stingray for 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes while it gracefully lowers the volume and puts itself into STANDBY mode.

Individual sealed gold contact relays deliver the selected input into the volume control system before hitting the first 12AT7 input tubes. Following the mighty 6414 driver/phase splitter, the trusty EL84 output stage can be switched between either 20 watts of TRIODE power or 40 watts of Ultra Linear mode push-pull operation. Individual bias for each tube is easily adjusted using the trimpots and test points, conveniently located on the top surface of the amplifier. The Stingray's power supply is extra-rugged and stiff, a MANLEY hallmark. It swims with the sharks: fast, agile, fluid, and with consummate authority.

Post-volume SUBWOOFER OUTPUT allows easy hookup of outboard line-level driven active powered subwoofers. This output is after the volume control so that the subwoofer will track the volume level changes of the main speakers. The SUB OUTPUT is a line level and full frequency output that is AFTER the volume control so your powered subwoofer follows the same volume as your main speakers. These are unbalanced RCA jacks, line level. They feed the line inputs of your subwoofer, NOT the speaker jacks.

A switchable TAPE LOOP is standard. The TAPE SEND is the output of the selected input before the volume control. The TAPE RETURN can also be used as a 5th line input if needed.

RECORD OUT (aka Tape OUT) is BEFORE the volume control so you can record whatever input you have selected without your listening level affecting the level going to your recorder. These are unbalanced RCA's. It is UNbalanced RCA's and UNbuffered so check out the input Z to your recorder to make sure it won't load down the Stingray main input while it is plugged in. Usually with unbuffered record outs we recommend you only plug in your recorder only when you are actually recording...

Tape LOOP: Also known as an INSERT point, the SEND or Tape Out comes off the selector switch as the Record Out option does going to your outboard EQ or Merlin BAM unit or tape recorder and then the signal returns (RETURN) to the Stingray in front of of the volume control so you can play tunes. A toggle switch selects whether the Tape LOOP (and whatever is plugged into the Tape Loop) is active or the signal goes straight through the Stingray as normal. If you have the Merlin BAM system, order your Stingray with the Tape LOOP option.

Need more than four inputs? Get a SKIPJACK line switcher and run it into this LOOP RETURN: The SKIPJACK is perfect for adding more inputs to anything. So if you use a SKIPJACK's 4 stereo inputs plus the Stingray II's 4 stereo inputs (3 RCAs + iPod output) you'll get 8 stereo inputs total. The way to do that is to consider the TAPE LOOP: you can bring the SKIPJACK output into the LOOP RETURN, enact the LOOP ACTIVE switch and use the 4 x SKIPJACK inputs feeding the LOOP RETURN with the SKIPJACK controlling source switching for those 4 inputs. Then if you put the Stingray's LOOP switch to BYPASS you will be working with the 4 x Stingray inputs selectable on the Stingray. That gives you 8 total stereo inputs (7 stereo LINE inputs plus the 1/8 input jack).

Or if you do not want to use the TAPE LOOP feature (because you are using it for other purposes) you can use a SKIPJACK to get up to 7 stereo line inputs (6 stereo LINE inputs plus the 1/8 Line Input jack) by running the SKIPJACK's output into one of the Stingray's inputs.

NOTE: The SUBWOOFER OUT, RECORD OUT, and TAPE LOOP are all passive. The RECORD OUT comes straight off the input select switch. So whatever source is selected will show up passed through at the TAPE OUT. With the Stingray, the MANLEY team has struck a remarkably harmonious balance in design which satisfies the sonic desires of the audiophile and the rocker, the artist and the musician, the student and the master, the yin and the yang.

    iPod Compatibility:

iPod can play songs with the these sample rates, and with all compatible codecs

    • 8 kHz

    • 11.025 kHz

    • 16 kHz

    • 22.050 kHz

    • 32 kHz

    • 44.1 kHz

Most iPods (except the iPod Shuffle) will play WAV and AIFF files. The iPod will play up to 16 bit/48kHz files.

    iTunes Compatibility:

iTunes is not compatible with FLAC format files without a third party plugin.

iTunes does support 24/96 wav files. iPod won't play them, but iTunes does support them.

iTunes can in fact output 24/96 digitally, so in theory you could actually assemble a hi-rez music server based on iTunes, and use it to drive the DAC of your choice. Thus using your iPod docked on your Stingray iTube you can play WAV files which will yield similar audio quality to CD.

With the Stingray, the MANLEY team has struck a remarkably harmonious balance in design which satisfies the sonic desires of the audiophile and the rocker, the artist and the musician, the student and the master, the yin and the yang.

    Discwasher D4 Vinyl Record Cleaner

A favorite among collectors for many years. Use the brush dry or wet with the included 1.25 oz. fluid. The more active, yet safe, D4+ fluid is actually able to lift and suspend contaminants in solution on the record surface so the D4 pad can easily and efficiently remove debris.

The D4+ Record Care System is the result of intensive scientific research on safe record cleaning. The D4+ System is a cleaning system unlike other products, which reduce record dynamics and fidelity. The more active, yet safe, D4+ fluid is actually able to lift and suspend contaminants in solution on the record surface so the D4 pad can easily and efficiently remove debris. Containing less residue than tap water, D4+ fluid will clean without depositing new residues on the record surface; it will not encourage any biological growth as do constantly damp cleaning methods.

For longer life, Discwasher recommends that records be lightly cleaned each time before playing. New records should also be cleaned before their first play. Although presumed clean, many new recordings still have mold release compounds in their grooves, thus requiring cleaning.

    HAND CRAFTED
The handle of the Discwasher D4+ Record Care System has been hand crafted and finished from solid American walnut, creating elegance for an already superior cleaner.

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROUTINE PRE-PLAY CLEANING

    Application

Apply 3-6 drops of the D4+ fluid in a line on the leading edge of the pad (the arrow on the end of the handle points to the leading edge). Distribute the fluid along the leading edge of the pad using several deliberate strokes with the bottom of the D4 bottle, causing the pad to form a strip of damp fabric.

    Position

Position the disc washer handle/pad with the arrow end on the outside edge of the record. Gently contact the record with the damp leading edge of the pad. The turntable motor may be assisted by gently turning the record with you finger on the label.

    Clean/Dry

Allow the damp leading edge to contact the record for about three revolutions. Dry the record with a simple rolling movement of the handle, allowing for the middle and back edge to contact the album for several revolutions, assuring thorough drying.

    D4+ Record Care System.

    • Cleans records while retaining fidelity.

    The Vagabond Sessions

One night in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest came a gathering of sound and fury! That was the night that Canadas legendary DOA pulled out all the stops with their punk-rock comrades Potbelly from Oak Harbor, WA. Hundreds of rabid fans crammed into a converted storage locker they call Vagabond. Potbelly wailed away and the session was recorded on a 16-track recording desk. Then DOA appeared out of the fog and torched the place with classic songs like I Hate You, To Hell n Back, Fuck You and Fucked Up Ronnie. It was an evening not to be forgotten and this limited-edition 12 slab of vinyl makes sure it wont be.

The Deluxe AcousTech gauge is set apart from the standard version by a full metal casing, AAA battery support, and a deluxe storage case. Includes mini screwdriver and calibration weight.

The AcousTech gauge will accurately read your tracking force within 0.002 grams, the finest reading available. Many imitators only read accuracy of 0.01 grams.

Accurate and simple to use - that's the essence of a great stylus force gauge, and that's what you get with this AcousTech model. We all know, or certainly we all should know, that dialing in your correct tracking force is absolutely essential for optimal record playback. If you miss on the heavy side, your sound becomes thick and sluggish. Miss on the light side, and your cartridge is more likely to mistrack and the sound will be light and anemic.
So stop messing with those mechanical stylus balances that aren't even accurate. This is one case where digital makes more sense when it comes to fine-tuning your analog.

    Edendale (Discontinued) (On Sale)

BigBang, Norways Greatest Live Band, have made Los Angeles their new home and have been criss-crossing the country playing intimate gigs and generating interest including from The Raconteurs Jack White and from Rolling Stone Magazines editor David Fricke: Led by singer-guitarist Oystein Greni, BigBang lit the power-pop chime and songwriting of Big Star and late-'80s R.E.M. with the power blues dynamics of Stevie Ray Vaughans Double Trouble.

The new record has strong ties to BigBangs adopted home in California. Frontman Øystein Greni explains: The area of Los Angeles today known as Echo Park/Silverlake used to be called Edendale around the time when the silent movie industry took off. Charlie Chaplins studio, now a storage place, is on my block, and Walt Disneys first film studio was across the street from the local Trader Joes. In Europe we tend to romanticize things and people from the past; here its all about moving on to the next project. Ironically, as much as I wanted to get away from the stale museum-like atmosphere of Europe, I get here and start focusing on LAs fascinating past!

Edendale was recorded in Los Angeles at the legendary Sound City Studios (Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash, Metallica), with an impressive list of collaborators. Producers: Øystein Greni (Bigbang) and Greg Richling (Wallflowers, Black Flag), Technician/mixer: Bryan Cook (Queens of the Stone Age, Raconteurs, The Bird and The Bee), Mastered by: Gavin Lurssen (Robert Plant/Alison Krauss, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello)

    Blood! (On Sale)

As far as stories of lost and found recorded material go, few tales can be told where all the pieces of the puzzle come together in fortunate ways, resulting in a brand new recording that surprised even the band themselves.

Having formed in 1982, infamous Santa Cruz hardcore legends BL'AST! released their first album, The Power of Expression in 1985. This debut blew everyone away and went on to become one of the highly sought after, "must- have" hardcore albums of the '80s. BL'AST! was beyond intense, continually pushing the boundaries of hardcore with their advanced musicianship, unstoppable energetic delivery and explosive live performances. This overwhelming power caught the attention of SST records, who released the band's second album, It's In My Blood in 1987. Their third LP, Take The Manic Ride, was then released by the label in 1989. BL'AST!'s wide-eyed, ambitious approach and intense perseverance became an influence for many bands to come. Shortly after the release of Take The Manic Ride, the band broke up and their story was buried by time and dust .UNTIL NOW!

Earlier this year BL'AST! guitarist Mike Neider contacted Southern Lord with news that he had found some mysterious old BL'AST! master tapes in a abandoned storage locker. Greg Anderson, a BL'AST! fanatic, wasted no time in sending the tapes to a studio to be baked. Needless to say, after 25 years gathering dust, the quality had deteriorated. Still, nobody could have anticipated what would follow. With the audio digitized, Southern Lord contacted fellow longtime BL'AST! fiend, Dave Grohl about mixing this recording, his response was an enthusiastic "FUCK YEAH!, LETS DO THIS"!

Whilst inside Grohl's famous 606 Studios (and with the Neve console as featured in the recent Grohl produced documentary Sound City) an astonishing discovery was made; a completely unheard, unreleased BL'AST! recording session from the mid-'80s.

The lineup of the band at the time of the recording included second guitarist William Duvall (from Neon Christ, and now the current vocalist for Alice In Chains) who had moved from his hometown of Atlanta out to Santa Cruz on a tip from mutual friends, Corrosion of Conformity, to join the band. Unfortunately, his tenure with BL'AST! was short-lived and no recordings from that lineup were ever released.

From the thunderous bass intro of "Only Time Will Tell" to the apocalyptic warnings of "It's In My Blood," the album completely rips and rages from start to finish. All parties involved were completely amazed at how vibrant, unique and fresh this newly-discovered material sounded. All things considered, it is miraculous the record survived this long and that everyone who was involved in bringing this recording to life, could be. Everything fell into place, when it could have easily crumbled along the way. This record is a time capsule that is meant to be heard!

There is no doubt in our minds that Blood will be a crucial purchase for any current hardcore fiend as well as punk/hardcore fans who loved the band back in the day. START THE MACHINE!

    Haunts

I stay up drinking with your ghost every night.

Haunts is full of memories. People you used to know. Rooms where you lived, streets you walked down. The lover you haven't spoken to in years who still lives in your dreams. Because the past is never dead. It's not even past.

Sometimes music is memory. The emotional memory of a songwriter, distilled into a way of viewing the world. Some songwriters are cartographers, mapping an inner landscape of hope and regrets. Each song is an invisible city, populated by ghosts. That is the land, and these are the people, of Tiny Victories' debut full-length album, Haunts.

Tell your ghost to leave me alone-

I can't sleep no more in my own home.

The surprise is that the tone of much of Haunts is joyous, even celebratory. Synths and electronic squiggles crash against pounding beats in ecstatic, orgiastic rhythms. Lyrically, though, the album is a compendium of love and loss. The contrast creates rooms of light and shadow (in "Scott & Zelda" or "Systems") or the oceanic catharsis of a party at the end of the world ("Austin, TX" and "This Revolution").

Tiny Victories' new album is a statement of purpose-and a point of arrival. The songwriting has evolved in a more focused direction, with a tighter structure, while Greg Walters and Cason Kelly continue to build on the experimental sonic architecture that fascinated them in their early days. Synth lines cut through through the dense underbrush of electronic soundscapes, propelled forward by Cason's relentless drumming. Greg's self-assured voice soars above the commotion. Haunts was produced and mixed by industry veteran Alex Aldi (Passion Pit, Holy Ghost!) and mastered by Chris Gehringer (Yeasayer, Chairlift, Jay-Z).

The song ideas were born in bedrooms crowded with samplers, Kaoss Pads and other electronic gadgets. Then the duo moved into Alex Aldi's Brooklyn studio in mid-2013. Aldi's studio was the de facto storage house for Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos' synth collection. Greg and Cason dove into this gear. Much of the record was performed on Angelakos' hardware.

Tiny Victories was formed in 2010 when Greg Walters met Cason Kelly in a Brooklyn bar. Both had played in a variety of other musical projects for years. Otherwise, they were an unlikely duo. Greg was just back from a six-year stint as a foreign correspondent based in Moscow, Russia. He'd covered the original Orange Revolution in Ukraine, the Tulip Revolution in Kyrgyzstan, and crisscrossed Siberia in a helicopter chasing after secretive oil company executives. During the Russian-Georgian war, he rode into the zone in a Russian armed personnel carrier as an embedded journalist.

"Journalism and music are both ways of making sense of the world," Greg says. "Journalism looks outward at what's happening around you. Music explores your inner life." Cason had recently moved to New York from Athens, GA, and was doing social work with inner city kids-a different kind of daily struggle. Both were burned out and looking for something new. They each wanted to take their music farther than it had gone before. They decided to start a band.

Their 7 vinyl debut in 2011 was followed by the critically acclaimed 2012 EP, Those Of Us Still Alive. John Schaefer of NPR's Soundcheck picked Tiny Victories as a local band likely to break big nationally, and invited them to do a live show on the air. Momentum began to snowball, culminating in invitations to play Bonnaroo in 2012 and 2013 and a slot on the Bonnaroo 365 tour with White Denim and Maps & Atlases.

You won't have to wait 70 years to see this Comet. AudioQuest's Comet Double Star-Quad speaker cable utilizes a carefully finessed amount of Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ and Perfect-Surface Silver Conductors. The addition of Silver is startling. Silver has a colorless sound, allowing the exposure of more textural nuances found in the recording.

SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER+/PERFECT-SURFACE SILVER (PSC+/PSS) CONDUCTORS: Comet uses a carefully finessed combination of Perfect-Surface Copper+ and extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface Silver conductors. All conductors are solid, which prevents strand interaction, a major source of distortion. Surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered as a rail-guide for both the electric fields within a conductor, and for the magnetic fields outside the conductor. The astonishingly smooth and pure Perfect-Surface eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers. The superior purity of PSC+ and PSS further minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries, which exist within any metal conductor.

CARBON-BASED NOISE-DISSIPATION and CROSS-TALK DISSIPATION SYSTEMS (INSULATION): The negative conductors in Comet are insulated with partially conductive Carbon-Loaded Polyethylene. This remarkable material damps radio-frequency garbage from being fed back into the amplifier. The sonic benefit is exactly the same reduction in "hash" and better dimensionality that comes whenever RF garbage is reduced in an audio circuit. Comet uses Nitrogen-Injected Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation on its positive conductors because air absorbs next to no energy, and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Thanks to all the air in Foamed-PE, it causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.

DIELECTRIC-BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1): All insulation slows down the signal on the conductor inside. When insulation is unbiased, it slows down parts of the signal differently, a big problem for very time-sensitive multi-octave audio. AudioQuest's DBS creates a strong, stable electrostatic field which saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This minimizes both energy storage in the insulation and the multiple nonlinear time-delays that occur. Sound appears from a surprisingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. The DBS battery packs will last for years. A test button and LED allow for the occasional battery check.

DOUBLE STAR-QUAD GEOMETRY: The relationship between conductors defines a cable's most basic electrical values (capacitance and inductance). However, even when those variables are kept in a reasonable balance, the relationship between conductors can be varied in ways that greatly affect the sound. The Double Star-Quad construction of Comet allows for significantly better dynamic contrast and information intelligibility than if the same conductors were run in parallel.

SPREAD-SPECTRUM GEOMETRY (SST): Any single size or shape of conductor has a specific distortion profile. Even though radially symmetrical conductors (solid or tubular) have the fewest discontinuities, any conductor of a particular size does have a sonic signature. SST is a method for significantly reducing the awareness of these character flaws by using a precise combination of different size conductors. The different SST-determined conductor sizes used in Comet allow an exceptionally clear, clean and dynamic sound.

    London Fog 1966

Collector's Edition Boxed Set Features Previously Unheard Concert Recordings From 1966 On CD And Vinyl

Includes 8 x 10 Prints Of Unseen Photos And Replica Memorabilia

Before The Doors took the music scene by storm in 1967, they were the house band at the London Fog, a Sunset Strip dive bar located just footsteps away from the world famous Whisky a Go Go, the future home of many of the band's most legendary performances. The Doors will open a virtual time capsule in December with LONDON FOG 1966, a Collector's Edition boxed set that features unearthed audio recorded at the club in May 1966. Previously unreleased and not even known to exist until recently, this marks the earliest recordings of the band and finds the quartet mixing blues covers with early versions of Doors originals.

LONDON FOG 1966 will be available as an individually numbered limited edition of 18,000 copies from Rhino/Bright Midnight Archives. Presented in a lift-top package designed to look like a vintage storage box, the set features seven songs on both CD and a 10-inch record that's made to resemble a test pressing. Noted Doors engineer Bruce Botnick recently mastered the audio for this collection.

Along with the unreleased music, the set is packed with memorabilia and historic liner notes to provide a true time capsule of that fabled night at the London Fog, including a poster, the set list handwritten by John Densmore, a program for the Royce Hall UCLA student film screening, plus a London Fog coaster. There are also liner notes included from Sunset Strip legend Ronnie Haran-Mellen, who was the talent booker at the Whisky a Go Go. Haran-Mellen saw The Doors live for the first time at the London Fog and then booked them as the permanent house band at the Whisky, leading to the band's signing to Elektra and meteoric rise to superstardom.

Also contributing liner notes is Nettie Peña, one of the lucky few to be in attendance at the London Fog for this fabled show. Peña was a pivotal force in this release coming together as she captured the audio on a ¼" reel to reel recorder, which was the property of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Her father was a teacher for LAUSD and let her borrow the recorder to take to the show. Peña also photographed the band that evening and five black and white 8x10 reprints of these unpublished photos are included in the Collector's Edition, featuring a fresh-faced Morrison on a cramped stage with John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek.

The show featured on LONDON FOG 1966 took place the same year that The Doors recorded their eponymous debut. Released in January 1967, the album would become one of the most influential in rock history. Like many of the band's early concerts, the show captured on this deluxe set reflects the group's deep love for the blues with covers of standards like Muddy Waters' "Rock Me" and "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man." The set also includes raw performances of "Baby, Please Don't Go" (Big Joe Williams), "Don't Fight It" (Wilson Pickett), and "Lucille" (Little Richard).

During their residency at the London Fog, The Doors frequently worked out new songs on stage that would eventually appear on various studio albums. At this show, the band played two originals. The first, "Strange Days," would become the title track for the band's second studio album, which also came out in 1967. This is one of the only known live recordings of this track. The other Doors original, "You Make Me Real," wasn't officially released on a studio album until Morrison Hotel in 1970.

"To hear 'Strange Days,' that came out on their second album, in almost final shape so early on was truly amazing," says Jac Holzman, the President of Elektra Records who signed The Doors to their first recording contract.

Going back to the band's earliest days is a natural starting point for The Doors 50th anniversary celebration.

Manley Stingray II Stereo Integrated Amplifier

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.
