Resonance Live In Basel Switzerland Volume 1
Limited Edition Double 140-Gram Red Vinyl Pressing Of 2010 Live Album
Volume 1 of 2. Recorded live in Basel, Switzerland on May 4, 2010, Resonance features the original line-up of the legendary prog rock supergroup Asia in concert during their Omega tour. This is an older but no less adept Asia -- grounded by vocalist/bassist John Wetton's still powerful vocal chops -- performing a cross-section of their ambitious songs that mix a hard rock intensity and classical virtuosity with a catchy, melodic songcraft. The band's 2010 studio album, Omega, was the second to feature the original line-up of Wetton, guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Geoff Downes, and drummer Carl Palmer since the group shifted personnel in 1983. As such, Resonance features a mix of newer songs off Omega, as well as the band's previous 2008 reunion album, Phoenix.LP 1

Green LanguageGlasgow's Russell Whyte is behind some of the most joyous, hyperactive, and truly original club music of recent years. As electronic alchemist Rustie, he harnesses the energy and euphoria of hyphy hip-hop and trance, spikes it with speaker-mangling bass and flashes of techno, and channels this all into intense dancefloor detonators, a sound he honed playing at nights thrown by local label collectives Numbers and LuckyMe. Rustie returns this summer with Green Language, a development and testament to his true passions and influences, the album is a high energy 40 minutes that showcases Rustie's signature sound at new found heights. REDD-CRE-3491xManfred Mann's Earth Band
Nightingales & Bombers (Awaiting Repress)The album that was Manfred Mann's commercial breakthrough was a departure from the previous albums made with the Earth Band. Though the personnel are the same and the musicianship is as mind-blowing as ever, the songs are shorter and punchier, in some cases more poppy. This is not to say that the band had sacrificed a bit of ingenuity or complexity, but the long jams are gone in favor of briefer sound portraits. Nightingales and Bombers included Manfred Mann's first cover of a Bruce Springsteen song, the album-opening Spirits in the Night, a single that charted, and became one of the only pieces written in 10/4 time ever to do so. It would prove to be an important move in their recording career, as 1976's Roaring Silence earned them a big hit with Springsteen's Blinded by the Light. Another foreshadowing of that tune can be detected in the track Fat Nelly, which includes a synthesizer part almost identical to the intro of the aforementioned hit. Also featured in Nightingales and Bombers are such synth-driven rockers as Crossfade, Countdown, and the title track, in which Manfred Mann appear to be trying to capture the prog rock crown. Nightingales and Bombers featured in almost every Best of the Year list for 1975.1. Spirits In The Night

ForestelevisionLesbian are a peculiar band, and not just in name alone. This Seattle-based four piece is one of the more eclectic acts to grace progressive metal, touting influences based in doom metal, 70s prog rock, black metal, and grunge. Combining all these seemingly disparate elements together may seem like an absurd task, but when psychedelics are involved, anything is possible. The group's latest effort explores these sounds and more in the course of a single forty minute track, Forestelevision.
Forestelevision is as suitable a title as any considering the structure and content that lies within. Lesbian shuffle through genres and moods as if flipping through channels while doped out on cough syrup. ADD applied to metal has allowed for the creation of some very off-the-wall music, but few approach this attention deficit as slowly evolving as Lesbian. At a whopping 44 minutes, Forestelevision crawls and plods along throughout a myriad of vignettes and experimentation in a way that is as challenging as it is awe-inspiring. Typically, spoiler alerts don't apply to music. However, given the nature of Forestelevision, the surprises that may lie around the corner upon first listen can make for an exhilarating experience. Going in blind yields the best results, but for those in need of more convincing may read on.
The album first opens to trudging doom metal riffs with vocals bringing to mind the likes of a young Ihsahn before giving way to riffing not out of place on a King Crimson record. These motifs continue to grow and change form through solos and synth leads in epic fashion. It isn't until halfway through Forestelevision when the band picks up considerable speed and begins to sound like something in the realm of post-blackened thrash before bottoming out again in a breakdown not unheard of from death metal greats Suffocation.
And this is just the tamer side of the group. Things get downright bizarre in the album's second climactic half. Following a barrage of math rock, sludge, and oddball soundtrack work that would expect to hear in an episode of Scooby-Doo, the band pulls off a shockingly convincing King Diamond impression almost out of nowhere, falsetto screams and power metal galloping riffs included. The band closes the show in an explosive crescendo of tremolo picked power chords and blasts of cymbals. Even with the considerable length, the fact that the band were able to make such a strange transformation from bleak doom to triumphant classic metal feel so natural is deserving of praise.
As excessive or self-indulgent as Forestelevision may seem, the ideas explored within are often captivating and epic as much as they are crushing and brutal. This is a culmination of all the insanity found throughout rock and metal condensed into a single epic track, and on more than one occasion can elicit a mouthing of "what the fuck am I listening to?" Those with enough patience to sit through Forestelevision will be left confused and disoriented, but compelled enough to go back for a second helping.1. Forestelevision$24.99Vinyl LP - Sealed Buy Now

Live In BremenPlaying on the same scene as bands like Amon Duul and
Can, krautrock band Guru Guru was formed in 1968 by one
of contemporary musics most talented drummers, Mani
Neumeier who, in addition to playing drums, was also the
bands vocalist / frontman. This album, recorded live at
Radio Bremen in 1971 features the 23-minute Der LSD
Marsch (The LSD March) from their debut album, UFO.
Here Neumeiers superlative drumming is given center
stage and one can hear why Mani has consistently earned
such high praise. The remaining two songs come from their
second album (1971s Hinten): the 22-minute extended
prog tribute to Bo Diddley (who knows what the inventor
of the Bo Diddley Beat would have thought of this), and
the aptly titled Space Ship - an extensive sonic trip of 15+ minutes (!) only found on the bonus CD.LP

The Guessing GameDoom metal? Prog punk? Psychedelic metal? British legends CATHEDRAL make all categories, genre boundaries and conventional approaches to metal seem redundant. Each one of their past albums showed a different face of CATHEDRAL, and The Guessing Game stays true to this tradition: guess what they came up with this time around!
Produced once again by Warren Riker (DOWN, CROWBAR), who also took care of the band`s last effort „The Garden Of Unearthly Delights" in 2005, The Guessing Game is one wild and unpredictable ride with one of the most unique and exciting acts the metal genre has got to offer! For the first time in the band`s history, they have recorded a double album that boasts thirteen tracks offering a colourful variety of musical styles and lyrical themes: 'Requiem for the voiceless' for example is pure, down`n`out crawling doom - and the first animal rights song in doom metal history! Then you`ll get classic stomping and grooving CATHEDRAL material with the catchy 'Painting in the dark', plus many songs wading through psychedelic and proggy waters - especially 'Funeral of dreams' featuring none other than Alison O`Donnell of MELLOW CANDLE (70s Irish folk rock band) fame doing guest vocals has to be mentioned here! It comes as no surprise that this time around CATHEDRAL went as far as to include exotic instrumentation such as Mellotron and Sitar. And pay special attention to the lyrics of 'Journeys into Jade': Lee Dorrian and co are celebrating 20 years of CATHEDRAL with this one!
And what a way to celebrate this anniversary: traditional CATHEDRAL cover artist Dave Patchett came up with one of his finest artworks in the band`s history, mirroring the themes and musical quirkiness of the album itself. "I really felt like I was witnessing history... in a couple of years we'll be talking about,
'Man, I saw him at this intimate little show." - NPR
"Grand and transcendent... the layers of beautiful sound, homage to Japanese culture,
and use of violin make 151a a dreamy, pocket-sized symphony, perfect for anyone
needing a lift." - BUST
"Sumptuous orchestral brilliance... It's a stunningly good record, not merely chirpy,
zany, and whimsical-but also packed full of harmonious, heart-stopping beauty. If you
can imagine ELO's very best moments combined with Andrew Bird and a bit of weird
Bjork introspection-well, even that doesn't really do it justice. Apart from Pet Sounds,
perhaps, I can't think of a record that's as singly captivating in its sonic beauty." - THE PORTLAND MERCURY
"Kishi Bashi's music sounds surprisingly basic and natural. He's got such a great way
of thinking about production and melody that I've yet to hear a bad song from him." -
YOU AIN'T NO PICASO
"The music is off-kilter, particularly the opening chants and swirl of guitar and drums.
The middle section, though, takes a more even-keeled approach to pop, balancing the
looped whistles with peaceful, yet evocative vocals."
- CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND
"A weightless, cartwheeling, electro-pop romp that's all zz and no fuss" - SPIN
Violinist, singer, and composer Kishi Bashi is slated to release his new album on
April 29, 2014. The album entitled "Lighght" (pronounced "Light") continues and
expands the sound of his critically acclaimed debut, "151a" - which earned Kishi Bashi
the *title* of "Best New Artist" by NPR. Since the profoundly successful release of
"151a" two years ago, Kishi Bashi has toured relentlessly, captivating audiences across
the globe with his loop-based live show, and fostering a groundswell of devotees.
"151a" was crafted over a four-year period while Kishi Bashi was touring and recording with Regina Spektor, Sondre Lerche, and of Montreal (where he was a full-time
member and co-producer). In late 2012, after the success of "151a", Kishi Bashi
decided to focus solely on his own music and began composing the new material
which has become "Lighght".
"Lighght" takes its title from the one-word poem by minimalist poet Aram Saroyan.
As Kishi Bashi explains, "The poem's blatant assault on literary convention and
classical form was attractive to me." It is apparent that such an approach informed
the new album, which has both broadened and redened his classical foundations.
"Though I have studied classical composition, I prefer to take an unconventional path when it comes to creating and thinking about music," says Kishi Bashi.
Though violin remains his primary instrument and songwriting muse, Kishi Bashi has
expanded his palette to include more diverse and nuanced instrumentation. Bright
and soaring avant-pop songs are prevalent, as are Eastern-tinged arrangements,
gentle ballads, Philip Glass inspired improvisations, and more than a few moments
that irt with 70s prog (in the tradition of ELO or Yes).

Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard (On Sale)Limited Edition
Only 2000 Copies Made
Its far too easy to abuse the phrase living legend, but when used to describe Robert Wyatt, youre in no danger of hyperbole: gifted songwriter; political activist; drummer in the Canterbury jazz/prog pioneers Soft Machine and contemporaries of the original lineup of Pink Floyd; collaborator with the likes of Brian Eno, David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Fred Frith, Paul Weller, Scritti Politti, Elvis Costello and his beloved wife Alfreda Benge, to name but a few.
Perhaps his greatest gift though is his voice, a reedy instrument of great warmth and emotion; one need only hear his interpretation of the classic Shipbuilding (a song that was written for him by Costello and producer Clive Langer) and you shall be smitten for life. Domino is incredibly honored to be releasing a near-complete re-issue series of Roberts solo recorded works in the form of these limited edition LP+CD versions. Each title is limited to 2000 copies. There will be only one pressing so, once these are gone, they are gone for good.

Demons And WizardsReissue of the classic 4th album from Uriah Heep. Originally released in 1972, the album reached #23 on the US Album Charts and is certified GOLD by the RIAA. Includes the classic singles "The Wizard" & "Easy Livin
Magic spells, time-traveling futurists, sword-bearing horse riders, mountain-residing sorcerers, possessed journeyman, ominous warnings: Demons and Wizards lives up to its name as a collection of fantasy-based narratives rooted in dreamy, gothic-minded arrangements.
Universally recognized as the finest effort of Uriah Heep's four-decade-plus career, the 1972 LP perseveres as a prog-rock landmark that influenced countless of bands ranging from Metallica to Styx to Blind Guardian. The first album on which founding members Mick Box, Ken Hensley, and David Byron are joined by staple drummer Lee Kerslake, the Top 30-charting Demons and Wizards captivates and charms by way of taut songwriting and instrumental execution.
Rather than function as the primary attraction, and be susceptible to mockery, make-believe lyrical themes augment a formidable assembly of folk-derived melodies, sharp medleys, and powerful hooks. Acoustic guitars weave webs of finite textures through which crackling, church-like organ passages and space-conscious bass lines maneuver, allowing songs to come across with an ethereal and powerful feel.
Glowing with old-fashioned tube-amp warmth, concise fare like "The Wizard," "Traveler In Time," and the hit "Easy Livin'" touches upon punchy garage-rock basics while epics such as "Circle of Hands" and closing "Paradise/The Spell"-a multi-part sonic excursion whose choral grace and spiritual glide evoke distant lands, misty cloud forests, and peaceful eternities-cling to a complex sensitivity underscored by deft piano notes.
