    Aqualung (Steven Wilson Mix)

Gatefold LP featuring 24 page adapted booklet from the previous 2011 40th anniversary set.

After veering sharply from the blues inluences of their debut, This Was, Jethro Tull's sound quickly coalesced around jazz-tinged English folk influences and the antics of frontman/flautist Ian Anderson. But it was guitarist Martin Barre's swaggering riff off the title track of the band's fourth album that would become Tull's trademark--and the band's entrÉe into a long reign as arena-rock perennials. But there's a lot more to Aqualung than the riffage of that cut and its cousins, Cross-Eyed Mary and Locomotive Breath. In an era when pseudo-Christian spirituality was a de rigueur, if cheap, musical commodity (from the overblown operatics of Jesus Christ Superstar to one-hit pop wonders such as Spirit in the Sky and Put Your Hand in the Hand), Anderson and company openly challenged the value of organized religion with a thematic album savvy enough to layer its thought-provoking lyrics between heavy strata of FM-friendly guitar bedrock. A clichÉ, perhaps; a landmark, no doubt. And a record many maintain is still Tull's finest hour. --Jerry McCulley

    Covers

The 12 tracks comprise six Steven Wilson originals and six covers and provide an essential insight into both Wilson's musical taste and his evolution as a solo artist.
In March 2003 STEVEN WILSON released Cover Version, a 2 track CD single which was limited to 1,000 copies. Despite an illustrious career fronting a number of acts, including PORCUPINE TREE and NO-MAN, and recording under various guises (IEM, BASS
COMMUNION), this was the first piece to be released under his own name.

The single was made up of one cover version along with one new, selfwritten composition. This proved to be the first of a series of Cover Version releases as over the next few years he released a further five singles. The artists that he covered reflect the diverse range of music that influences him, taking in tracks by Alanis Morissette, Abba, The Cure, Momus, Prince and Donovan.

Each of the CD singles were limited to 1,000 copies, with the final release (Cover Version VI) coming in a special box to house all six CDS, with artwork designed by Carl Glover and a booklet of portraits of Steven by Hajo Mueller. As Steven Wilson's popularity has grown, both through his work with Porcupine Tree and through his burgeoning solo career, these long sold-out releases have become much sought-after by collectors.

This release brings together all 12 tracks on one vinyl release for the first time. Pressed on double heavyweight (180g) vinyl, the tracks provide a fascinating insight into both Wilson's musical taste and his development as a solo artist. The artwork has been 'remixed' from the box design by Carl Glover.

    We're Here Because We're Here

    Album mixed by Steven Wilson

We're Here Because We're Here is the eighth studio album by British band Anathema, released on 31 May 2010. The working title of the album was Horizons. The album was mixed by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree.

Ville Valo of the band HIM recorded vocals for the song Angels Walk Among Us.[1] The title of the album is taken from a song of the same name that was sung in the Allied trenches of World War I to the tune of Auld Lang Syne.

It is the last album to feature keyboarist Les Smith.

Response from the critics was generally positive. The album was proclaimed Prog Album of the Year by Classic Rock magazine, describing it as a flawless, life-affirming comeback and a gold-plated contender for album of the year.

    Lizard

DGM & Panegyric are proud to present the third in a series of King Crimson high quality vinyl reissues with the September release of "Lizard". The album's return to the 12" vinyl format is newly cut from masters approved by Robert Fripp. Manufactured on 200 gram super-heavyweight vinyl & housed in a reprint of the original beautiful gatefold sleeve, this edition also contains bonus MP3 codes giving access to a download of a transfer of an original 1970 pressing.

"Lizard" - King Crimson's third studio album & second recording of 1970, was, like its predecessor "In the Wake of Poseidon", the product of a studio band. It was also the first Crimson album for which Robert Fripp provided all of the music. Remarkably self-contained & sounding somewhat atypical for a King Crimson album - even by the standards of a band that rarely sounded similar from album to album, "Lizard" is an often overlooked & under-appreciated gem from their early years. Certainly at the time of release, anyone expecting an extension of the soundscapes introduced & explored on the band's earlier two albums was in for a surprise.

"Lizard" featured a lighter, more delicate sound than the earlier albums - an approach perhaps necessitated by an extended instrumental lineup. The expanded range of instruments allowed for intricately interwoven instrumental passages - with Fripp's guitar & Tippett's piano pleasingly to the fore - and this combination, along with the prominence afforded to Mel Collins & the guest players on the album's main title suite, led some to believe that Fripp was guiding Crimson towards the world of jazz & away from rock altogether. But such claims were misguided. Crimson was, as ever, seeking to expand the vocabulary of rock music & "Lizard" was, in some ways, the band's most ambitious album to date.

As this lineup never toured, very little of the material was performed live & "Lizard" remained a product of the studio environment & the musicians who performed on it. "Lizard" remains a fascinating, intriguing album - an album only a band called King Crimson could make - even if it was a very different King Crimson to that which had gone before or would come after. The album's reputation has undergone a serious re-evaluation in recent years, due in no small part to the overwhelmingly positive nature of the reception given to Steven Wilson & Robert Fripp's 2009 CD/DVD-A edition. As a result the album has never been as popular in its 42 years' history.

    Cenotaph

Described by steven wilson as a sequel to ghosts on magnetic tape, cenotaph is, in fact, far more than that. Just like its renowned predecessor, still regarded by Wilson as an all-time favourite in his oeuvre, the new album turns spatial relations upside down, with otherworldly fields of microscopic crackle hovering in the foreground, as cavernous drones ominously flow underneath like steaming streams of molten metal. Whereas ghosts on magnetic tape would transform haunting passages found on old vinyl records into concise and highly organic textures, Wilson has considerably expanded the dimensions of the music this time. carving out vast aural sculptures cenotaphs of sound from them, the album is made up of four massive compositions around the twenty-minute mark. each of them is a world unto itself, marked by the gradual appearance, temporary continuation and eventual decay of events within a non-linear continuum. For the first time in Bass Communion history, these mysterious cycles are propelled by a slow, brooding rhythmical pulse.

Based on one of the most successful and popular comic book series of all time, written by Robert Kirkman, AMC's The Walking Dead captures the ongoing human drama following a zombie apocolypse. The series follows a group of survivors led by police officier Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, Teachers, Strike Back), who are traveling in search of a safe and secure home. However, rather than the zombies, it is the living who become the true walking dead. Jon Bernthal (The Pacific, The Ghost Rider), Rick's sherff's department partner before apocolypse and Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) is Rick's wife Lori Grimes. Additional cast includes: Lori Holden, Steven Yuen, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey DeMunn, Chandler Riggs, Iron E. Singleton and Melissa McBride. Guest stars include: Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, and Pruitt Taylor Vince.

    Storm Corrosion

Storm Corrosion is the long-discussed and highly anticipated collaboration between two of the modern progressive rock scene's most innovative and multi-talented artists: Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson and Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth. The pair will release their self-titled debut album via Roadrunner Records.

The sound of Storm Corrosion can best be described as enchanting, orchestral, ambient, epic (half the album's tracks clock in around the 10-minute mark) and nothing short of surprising to the new ear. However, the musicians' respective fanbases will be primed to appreciate the new output, with Wilson's recent solo album, Grace for Drowning, and Opeth's Heritage having brought them to a logical place to understand Storm Corrosion. This eponymous collection is almost viewed as one side of a musical triangle.

Says Wilson, "If you'd asked me three months ago about the music, I would have said, 'Expect the last thing you would expect.' But actually, now that Heritage and Grace for Drowning have come out, I don't think it's going to be that much of a shock to people, because it's almost like a third part of the trilogy, in a way. If anything, it's even more orchestral, even more stripped down, even more dark, twisted and melancholic, but it certainly feels like it comes from the same place as Heritage and Grace for Drowning, which indeed it does because it was written during the same period."

"Some of the music on this record I think is the most beautiful music I have participated in ever," adds Åkerfeldt. "There's some magical sections on there. Musically I think we've created something earthy, a bit frightening, exhausting, profound and rather intense. All at the same time. I can safely say I don't know any other band or artist that sounds anything like Storm Corrosion. I guess that was also one of our goals, so to speak."

Four-time Grammy nominee, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Steven Wilson follows up on his acclaimed Hand. Cannot. Erase. with the new interim album 4 ½, so titled because it forms an interim release between Steven's recently released fourth album Hand. Cannot. Erase. and the next studio album.

4 ½ comprises 6 tracks with a total running time of 37 minutes. 4 of the songs originated during the sessions for Hand. Cannot. Erase., and one from the recording sessions for the previous album The Raven that Refused to Sing. The final track is a version of Don't Hate Me, a song originally recorded by Porcupine Tree in 1998, and is based on a live recording made on the recent tour of Europe with additional recording later done in the studio. The vocals on this new version are sung as a duet between Steven and Ninet Tayeb.

Also appearing on the album are members of Steven's band over the last few years; Adam Holzman, Nick Beggs, Guthrie Govan, Dave Kilminster, Craig Blundell, Marco Minnemann, Chad Wackerman, and Theo Travis.

LP is housed in a beautiful die-cut sleeve photographed by Lasse Hoile and designed by Carl Glover.

    Pale Communion

PALE COMMUNION, which was produced by the band's very own Mikael Åkerfeldt and mixed by longtime collaborator and Porcupine Tree frontman/guitarist Steven Wilson, is heralded by the lead single, "Cusp of Eternity."

The new material find's Opeth once again challenging the boundaries of extreme music. In a recent interview with VICE's Noisey, Akerfeldt stated, "I wanted to do something more melodic with this album there's stronger vocal melodies and more melodies overall I was pretty consistent with that frame of mind throughout the writing process." Recently, Metal Injection's Greg Kennelty broke down Opeth's PALE COMMUNION in a track by track review, exclaiming "This record knows exactly what it's doing and nails it through and through one of my favorite records of 2014. If not my favorite record of 2014."

PALE COMMUNION follows 2011's critically acclaimed HERITAGE which proved a milestone album for Opeth, earning them widespread acclaim and an ever-growing fan following. Debuting Top 20 on the Billboard 200 and racking up numerous 'Best Of' accolades in 2011, HERITAGE landed at #2 on both Decibel's "Top 40 Albums of 2011" and Guitar World's "Top 50 Albums of 2011" lists.
