    Please Please Me

Ranked 39/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Sourced From the Original Master Tapes!

    Cut at Abbey Road Studios

    Pressed on 180 gram vinyl

Once Please Please Me rocketed to number one, The Beatles rushed to deliver a debut album, bashing out Please Please Me in a day. Decades after its release, the album still sounds fresh, precisely because of its intense origins.

Please Please Me hit the top of the UK album charts in May 1963 and remained there for thirty weeks before being replaced by With The Beatles. This was surprising because the UK album charts at the time tended to be dominated by film soundtracks and easy listening vocalists.

In 2012, Please Please Me was voted 39th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. It was ranked first among The Beatles' early albums, and sixth of all of The Beatles' albums, with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Revolver, Rubber Soul, The Beatles (The White Album) and Abbey Road ranked higher.

Rolling Stone also placed two songs from the album on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time: No. 139, I Saw Her Standing There, and No. 184, Please Please Me. According to Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic, Decades after its release, the album still sounds fresh, the covers are impressive and the originals astonishing.

A team consisting of some of the best producers and engineers in the recording industry were brought together and would spend 4 long years mixing and mastering with some of the most state of the art recording equipment. Treating these records much like a science experiment, engineers ran extensive tests before copying the analog master tapes over into a digital format using 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and carefully removing clicks, vocal pops and poor edits. Never altering the original songs themselves, just polishing them up a bit.

    Begging Please

Body High is set to release Begging Please, the debut solo album from label head Samo Sound Boy. In an unprecedented approach for an album rooted in club culture, Begging Please, is an honest and unguarded story, relatable to many, but a singular achievement in its unique delivery and detail. Citing Marvin Gaye's Here, My Dear as a key influence, Samo uses his own distinct language to tell a vivid and personal narrative. Lush synth work, jagged percussion, and hauntingly soulful samples, bring us into his autobiographical account of love slowly breaking down and falling apart. The idea that dance music could be considered one-noted or lacking in depth has never made sense to me. I think the very simple way it builds up and down is so fundamentally reflective of living in the world, Samo said recently. What's dark and brooding can give way to the most ecstatic moments, all because one small thing is added or subtracted. Begging Please is a story about the last couple years of my life, told the best way I know how. Following his collaborative DJ Dodger Stadium LP with Jerome Potter, Samo wrote and recorded Begging Please during the second half of 2014 in Los Angeles, California.

    Tell Me

Their Secretly Canadian debut is one hell of a break-up record. Love is a confusing thing and it always leaves the mind with more questions than answers. Tell Me captures the confusion, denial, sleepless nights, and the desperate pleas for love that can only be felt when the mind gives up control to the heart. Catfish Haven are amongst the few bands that can command a stage; keep a crowd up with a high energy live performance and still deliver such heartache.

    Shape Shift With Me

Four years is a measurement of time that America has used for centuries to indicate change. Presidential terms last four years; high school diplomas and college degrees typically take four years apiece, too. It's not an arbitrary thing, either: It typically takes that much time from the declaration of something changing for it to actually change.

Meet Laura Jane Grace. Four years ago, the Against Me! frontwoman came out as transgender; 18 months later, she released the band's sixth album, the fiery Transgender Dysphoria Blues, one which she began working on before her transition and helped document the struggles she was facing. It was an intensely personal record that took on a life of its own, connecting with thousands of new listeners drawn to Grace's honesty and complexity while still pleasing Against Me!'s dedicated fanbase.

Now, four years after Grace's public reintroduction, Against Me! is ready to release their new album, Shape Shift With Me, on Total Treble. While much has changed in the lives of Grace and her bandmates-guitarist James Bowman, bassist Inge Johansson and drummer Atom Willard-in that time period, it's clear that those intervening years have done wonders for creativity.

"Everything with Shape Shift With Me has been really about keeping momentum going," she says. "In between every tour we did for Transgender Dysphoria Blues, I would have a couple songs I had written and we would demo them. At the end of two years of touring, we had an album ready to record. Usually, you come off of touring for a record and you're back at square one. But this was so fully formed it felt like there was no choice but to go ahead and record the songs."

Shape Shift With Me has the distinction of the first album Grace has written truly from the heart, with no metaphorical cloaks cast over the lyrics. It's an album about love, that deceptively complex emotion we all struggle with yet has somehow eluded most of Grace's songwriting for the past 20 years.

"Tons of people have written about love. But while love is clichÉ, it's infinitely relevant. For me, having always been in a punk band that was expected to be political, I never felt like I had that option to write about feelings in that way. That's what I ended up being drawn to this time. It's writing in a way I thought I could never write before, and not giving a shit about expectations."

As such, Shape Shift With Me is a loose concept album about traveling the world and falling in and out of love, with Grace serving as the narrator. But even though she was opening herself up to new songwriting topics, she knew what her mission was from the start.

"Is there a record that is about relationships from a trans perspective?" she asks rhetorically. "There needs to be more records about trans rights and everything like that, but feeling like I already did that, I wanted to move on to write commentary on living from a trans perspective. I wanted to write the transgender response to the Rolling Stones' Exile On Main St., Liz Phair's Exile In Guyville and the Streets' A Grand Don't Come For Free. All those records are relationship records. There's been an infinite amount of records talking about what love means from a cisgender perspective. I wanted to present the trans perspective on sex, love and heartbreak."

With Grace's new motivation came a new outlook on the band, as well. Previous albums found the songwriting process to be a largely solitary experience, but she embraced the spirit of collaboration for Shape Shift With Me-so much so that when Cody Votolato of the Blood Brothers sent her some demos of songs he was working on for another project, she became inspired and ended up co-writing "Boyfriend" and "Norse Truth," two of the album's most memorable tracks, with him.

"It was just about opening up to whatever comes my way karmically," Grace says. "Whatever everyone in the band is willing to offer, I just wanted to be open to it. I didn't want it to be like what it was in the past where it may have felt closed. I want it to be different."

In a career already full of classic punk records, Shape Shift With Me feels like the definitive Against Me! album-it's poppy and catchy ("Rebecca," "Suicide Bomber"), aggressive and in-your-face ("ProVision L-3," "Dead Rats"), sentimental and longing ("Crash," "All This And More"). Moreover, it's the culmination of four years of existence as Laura Jane Grace-there's no going back now, so she might as well embrace it.

"While I've always wanted the moon and the stars, I have a certain amount of humbleness," she admits. "I just want to play shows and make records and write songs. That's what I've always wanted to do. Of course I always want the biggest and best things for those shows and records and songs, but when it comes down to it, I just love doing it. I have no other ambitions or career goals.

"David Bowie put out 27 full-lengths. Prince put out 39 full-lengths," Grace remarks. "That is so inspiring to me-working, creating art, creating records and let everyone else sort it out. That's what I've always wanted to do and that's what I will keep on doing."

    The Beatles Mono Box Set

Limited Edition 14-LP Box Set With Exclusive 108-Page Hardbound Book

The Beatles' Original Mono Studio Albums Remastered At Abbey Road Directly From The Analogue Masters For Vinyl Release By Sean Magee and Steve Berkowitz

Lacquers Cut Using Neumann VMS-80 Lathe

The Beatles in mono: This is how most listeners first heard the group in the 1960s, when mono was the predominant audio format. Up until 1968, each Beatles album was given a unique mono and stereo mix, but the group always regarded the mono as primary. The Beatles' nine U.K. albums, the American-compiled Magical Mystery Tour, and the Mono Masters collection of non-album tracks will be released in mono on 180-gram vinyl LPs with faithfully replicated artwork. Newly mastered from the analogue master tapes, each album will be available both individually and within a lavish, limited 14-LP boxed edition, The Beatles In Mono, which also includes a 108-page hardbound book.

In an audiophile-minded undertaking, The Beatles' acclaimed mono albums have been newly mastered for vinyl from quarter-inch master tapes at Abbey Road Studios by GRAMMY®-winning engineer Sean Magee and GRAMMY®-winning mastering supervisor Steve Berkowitz. While The Beatles In Mono CD boxed set released in 2009 was created from digital remasters, for this new vinyl project, Magee and Berkowitz cut the records without using any digital technology. Instead, they employed the same procedures used in the 1960s, guided by the original albums and by detailed transfer notes made by the original cutting engineers.
Working in the same room at Abbey Road where most of The Beatles' albums were initially cut, the pair first dedicated weeks to concentrated listening, fastidiously comparing the master tapes with first pressings of the mono records made in the 1960s. Using a rigorously tested Studer A80 machine to play back the precious tapes, the new vinyl was cut on a 1980s-era VMS80 lathe.

Manufactured for the world at Optimal Media in Germany, The Beatles' albums are presented in their original glory, both sonically and in their packaging. The boxed collection's exclusive 12-inch by 12-inch hardbound book features new essays and a detailed history of the mastering process by award-winning radio producer and author Kevin Howlett. The book is illustrated with many rare studio photos of The Beatles, fascinating archive documents, and articles and advertisements sourced from 1960s publications.

    Box Set contains the following:

Via Michael Fremer (Analog Planet) on the mastering process:

The EQ applied was based upon the original cutting engineers' notes as well as careful listening to original first lacquer, first mother, first stamper EMI pressings (-1, 1, G matrix). The cartridge used was Ortofon's 2M Black.

It's important to remember that the tapes have aged-some as much as fifty years-and the monitoring, playback and mastering equipment have changed as well, even though the work was done in the very same room in which the originals were mastered. Solid state has replaced tubes in the cutting chain.

Lacquers were cut using Abbey Road Studios' Neumann VMS-80 lathe, equipped with a Neumann SX-74 cutter head. The originals were cut on a Scully lathe, perhaps with a Westrex cutter head.

    Sing In Japanese

In keeping with the theme of their last release, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes decided to tackle the proud musical tradition of another country, rather than a specific genre. This time they set their sights on the land of the rising sun, Japan, the birthplace of Karaoke. The fact that the Gimme Gimmes are one of the most renowned cover bands around makes this a match made in heaven.

Spike's sweet crooning is universally pleasing, as he proves by deftly belting out the 6 tracks on Sing In Japanese in the dialect in which they were originally written. The boys ply their fun-loving, punk rock style to these Japanese classics, resulting in 6 up-tempo sing-alongs peppered with guitar riffs hotter than wasabi.

    My Jug And I

This 1966 record is the first of two albums Percy Mayfield recorded for Ray Charles' Tangerine label. A masterful songwriter whose touching blues ballad Please Send Me Someone To Love was a #1 R&B hit in 1950, Mayfield was Ray Charles' favorite author during the '60s handing him such gems as Hit The Road Jack and At The Club and so was signed to the Genius' label.

A true master at expressing the innermost feelings, tangled with vulnerability and sensibility: Life Is Suicide and River's Invitation are two perfect examples of this, along with the wonderful title track, and both are included on this timeless classic. Here on 180 gram vinyl.

This 1969 release by the legendary Mississippi Fred McDowell was his first to feature him playing the electric guitar. Although it was somewhat controversial at the time it is now considered a classic. Fred sounds like he has always been plugged in, playing with fiery passion, including some great bottleneck guitar. Featuring all originals by Fred including, You Got To Move (covered by the Rolling Stones on Sticky Fingers) and Kokomo Me Baby, except for a cover of Joe Williams Baby Please Don't Go. Ranked 270/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The 1965 album Today! was the Beach Boys' eighth studio album and the first of three to be released that year. The album marked a major turning point for the band, and especially the exhausted Brian Wilson. It was around this time where Wilson gave up touring, and many consider this the beginning of his artistic maturation. The album features a fine mix of upbeat numbers like Do You Wanna Dance and Help Me Rhonda and ballads such as Please Let Me Wonder and Kiss Me, Baby. Aside from their opus Pet Sounds, Today! is the Beach Boys' most highly acclaimed release.

All 'From The Capitol Vaults' titles feature carefully replicated artwork and packaging true to their original single or gatefold jacket LP releases.

In the original liner notes for Chuck Jackson on Tour (1964), Bob King describes Jackson "a man with pent up talent." Consequently, this LP is the sound of that talent erupting all over the stage of the famed Apollo Theater, the same venue where Jackson had been discovered a few years earlier. Jackson leads the airtight band through raw, sweat-soaked versions of his hits "I Wake Up Crying" and "Any Day Now," giving the audience their money's worth and more. He also includes well-chosen covers, like Marvin Gaye's "Stubborn Kind of Fellow," Ben E. King's "Stand by Me" and the King of the Apollo himself, James Brown's "Please Please Please." In a true testament to his ability, he makes each of these songs his own, infusing every line with deep emotion. If you only know him from his smoothly-orchestrated studio recordings, Chuck Jackson on Tour will give you an entirely new take on this legendary performer. Working from the original Wand analog reels, Sundazed has mastered this explosive album in the rare true stereo mix for an immersive listening experience. The Contortionist represents fearlessness in musical expression, designed to please artist as much as audience. This band makes progressive metal music, anchored in the heavy sounds that first drew the individual players to the stage, yet unmoored by convention or expectation.

Clairvoyant, which reunited the band with producer Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, Through The Eyes Of The Dead), takes the best elements of The Contortionist's past and reshapes them as the band follows their individual creative muses toward the future. On Clairvoyant, the band's distinctive fingerprints remain, even as their atmospheric flourishes broaden to encompass ever-richer textures and mine the beauty of simplicity.

    Restoring Force

After massive amounts of hype and anticipation, Of Mice & Men blew all expectations out of the water with their
early 2010 self-titled debut, selling over 75,000 copies to date. They didn't skip a beat with their follow up album
    - The Flood, selling over 15,000 units in its rst week and another 9k in the rst week of the deluxe reissue
version. The Flood has currently scanned over 130,000 units. They've spent the majority of the last few years
supporting large artists such as A Day To Remember, August Burns Red, Bring Me The Horizon, As I Lay
Dying and more. They've also headlined Warped Tour as well as sold out tours in the US, UK & Australia.

    Of
Mice & Men went in the studio with producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, Bring Me The
Horizon) to record their 3rd full length, RESTORING FORCE. The album does exactly that, it restores the band
as a massive force in the scene that they've thrived in for the past years, but beyond that it showcases the band's
growth as both songwriters and performers. Frontman Austin Carlile returns and gives his most brutal and
honest performance to date while clean singer, Aaron Pauley, who is making his Of Mice & Men debut, truly
shines and will become a star in his own right. The band will hit the road immediately after the release, spending
the entire spring on the road with Bring Me The Horizon and Issues as well as performing as a headliner on
Warped Tour, etc. In making "Restoring Force" the band has created an album that will please the large
hard-rock, mosh-happy fan base that they've accrued over the years, while also allowing them to continue
growing and appealing to a wider and wider audience.

Idlewild South (Awaiting Repress) (On Sale)

Idlewild South, the sophomore release from America's sovereign Southern rock band the Allman Brothers, is easily their greatest studio album. Unlike the band's labyrinthine live shows, which are distinguished by their immense, walloping swamp rock, this album focuses on the considerable songwriting capabilities of Gregg Allman and Dicky Betts. Plus, it showcases the bands original lineup, before multiple tragedies began taking their toll: The lightning slide guitar of Duane Allman, the vocals and Hammond B-3 of his brother Greg Allman, lead guitarist Dickey Betts, bassist Berry Oakley, and the thunderous drum tandem of Butch Trucks and Jaimoe Johanson. This album lays bare their talent for weaving disparate but distinctly Southern elements of rock, gospel, soul, jazz, and R&B into a cohesive and original whole. The legendary Engineer/Producer Tom Dowd oversaw these sessions, which resulted in the Bible-thumping Revival, the smash hit Midnight Rider, the dirty blues of Don't Keep Me Wonderin', the soul-soothing Please Call Home, and the legendary In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, which would go on to become the penultimate Allman Brothers' concert war-horse.

    Leonard Cohen: Live Songs

    Meticulously Remastered

Sourced From The Original Columbia Records Stereo Masters In Order To Preserve The Sound Of The Original Albums

Leonard Cohen's intimate, emotion-charged live performances yielded the 1973 release Live Songs, which mixes a handful of previously recorded favorites with several new songs, including Passing Thru, Tonight Will Be Fine and the harrowing, rarely-performed 13-minute epic Please Don't Pass Me By (A Disgrace).

By the time Cohen began his recording career in 1967, the iconoclastic Canadian troubadour was already well established as a poet and author. He quickly emerged as one of the eras most original and influential singer-songwriters, building a large and legendary body of work that continues to inspire artists and listeners alike.

Much of Cohen's reputation and mystique was established by his early work for Columbia Records, particularly the five albums he recorded between 1967 and 1974. Now, these five classic albums, unavailable on vinyl for two decades, have been lovingly restored to their original LP format.

For their new Sundazed editions, all five albums have been meticulously remastered and have been sourced from the original Columbia Records stereo masters in order to preserve the sound of the original albums. In keeping with the exacting standards for which Sundazed has become known, each album will be pressed on high-definition vinyl, with complete original cover art.

    Vincebus Eruptum

Blue Cheer looms large in the annals of hard rock, laying down the sonic foundations of heavy metal, and serving as a crucial influence on the birth of punk, grunge and stoner rock. While the rest of the rock world was mellowing out and embracing the spirit of the Summer of Love, the seminal San Francisco power trio was churning out ballsy blues-rock anthems whose fuzz-heavy, adrenaline-charged intensity helped to alter the course of contemporary music.

Vincebus Eruptum, Blue Cheers landmark 1968 debut, is widely regarded as Ground Zero of the heavy metal explosion. The album, featuring the classic Blue Cheer lineup of guitarist Leigh Stephens, bassist/vocalist Dickie Peterson and drummer Paul Whaley, includes the trios mind-melting reading of Eddie Cochrans Summertime Blues, which became a Top 20 single, along with such raw, overdriven originals as Doctor Please and Second Time Around and distinctive reworkings of the blues standards Rock Me Baby and Parchment Farm. Long out of print on vinyl, with original copies trading for steep collectors prices, this legendary debut is available once again in its original format, complete with its unique original cover design.

    Kill Bill Vol. 1 Soundtrack

Fashion be damned: Pop culture is just one big Hometown Buffet for writer-director Quentin Tarantino. Nowhere has that sensibility been more apparent than on his hand-picked soundtrack choices, and this oft tongue-in-cheek tale of a female assassin's revenge (his first film in six years) is no exception. With dizzy, almost palpable glee, Tarantino evokes the international hall-of-mirrors influences that energize martial arts films and much of Asian pop culture in general. Thus the hip-hop of Wu Tang's RZA (who, along with composer Charles Bernstein, concocts what passes for the score's traditional cues) somehow finds itself but one ingredient in a heady souffle that includes vintage TV and film cue rarities (Al Hirt's main title from The Green Hornet, Bernard Herrmann's haunting theme from Twisted Nerve, the spaghetti western melodrama of Luis Bacalov's The Grand Duel, Isaac Hayes in full blaxploitation mode on Run Fay Run), Charlie Feathers' vintage rockabilly and a pan-kitsch sensibility that encompasses Zamfir, Nancy Sinatra's angst-in-the-pants take Bang, Bang and Santa Esmeralda's disco-era workout of Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood. Tarantino's contemporary Japan-Pop selections are no less giddy, ranging from Meiko Kaji's sultry Flower of Carnage to The 5.6.7.8's loopy Woo Hoo. It's everything we've come to expect from a Tarantino score (including dialog excerpts and a few sound fx stingers), with a madcap trip around the pop music world thrown in for good measure. -- Jerry McCulley

    The Best Of Sade

By the time this was released in 1994, something unexpected happened. Sade's early work became classic and the later additions boasted even better vocals and songs that nicely improved on the theme. The timeless sound and class always exhibited makes Sade Adu and her band a no-brainer for an appealing compilation.

Like Al Green's Greatest Hits, The Best of Sade doesn't detract from the original albums and is a marker of time, not the end of the act. The ice-princess demeanor and detached vocals worked perfectly for the mid-'80s singles and radio samples Smooth Operator and Your Love Is King. The tracks from the make-or-break second album, Promise, seem less dolorous propped up and sequenced for a compilation. The sensual-to-a-fault The Sweetest Taboo and Never As Good As the First Time both retain their strength here. This set also includes tracks from Sade's comeback CD, Love Deluxe, including Kiss of Life and No Ordinary Love.

As a bonus, The Best of Sade also includes a rare cover of Please Send Me Someone to Love from the Philadelphia soundtrack.

    The Trigger Complex

    Ultra Clear Vinyl

Influential Southern California punk rock pioneers T.S.O.L. will make their awaited return in 2017 with a new record label and their 11th studio album, The Trigger Complex.

T.S.O.L., short for True Sounds of Liberty, struck a nerve in the early 80's with their defiant, politically charged self-titled debut EP. At the intersection of punk and gothic new wave, the band's evolution of sound continued resulting in their critically heralded, full-length record Dance With Me (1981) as well as many other fan coveted albums, with various lineup changes and reunions along the way, that cemented their legacy in the punk scene as one of the most influential bands to come out of California.

Now, nearly four decades later, original members Ron Emory, Mike Roche and Jack Grisham have returned to creative heights with one of their most inspired albums in decades with The Trigger Complex. Comprising of thirteen songs, the band's new record runs the gamut of charging punk anthems to brooding rock songs that will no doubt please listeners. Given the country's turbulent, divisive political climate it could not be better timing for the return of one of punk's most important and vocal bands.
"It's a great time to be making music; to have a voice that can be heard," says Grisham. "I'm glad that things look bleak. Political turmoil breeds strength as well as strife. This record allows us to remind people that they aren't alone. We're here."
