    No Code

Mastered Specifically For Vinyl By Bob Ludwig

Includes Nine Random Replica Polaroids/Lyric Cards

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of No Code, Pearl Jam reissues No Code on 150-gram vinyl. This is the first time the album has been available on the format since its original release and the first time the album is being mastered specifically for vinyl, by Grammy Award-winning engineer Bob Ludwig. It features recreations of their original packaging, including the set of nine random replica Polaroids/lyric cards

The 1996 sessions for No Code featured longtime producer Brendan OBrien (his third consecutive collaboration with the band) and drummer Jack Irons, who'd joined the band at the end of the Vitalogy sessions. They explored new approaches to writing and recording, developing songs out of jam sessions and eschewing their stadium-grunge style for self-examining ballads, garage rock and even psychedelic sounds. No Code became the band's third consecutive No. 1 album, with lead single Who You Aretopping Billboard's Modern Rock chart.

Chris Cornell has been a major force and contributor in the rock music world for many years. As founding member of the iconic Soundgarden, his collaborative efforts and performances with his Seattle based band helped make their albums become truly successful events at both radio and retail, going on to sell millions of albums worldwide.

Always the musical pioneer, Chris Cornell continued to break new ground with his very well received side projects like Temple Of The Dog featuring Pearl Jam and the late Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone, and continued his superstar legacy even further with Audioslave featuring members of Rage Against The Machine.

Culminating his years of a highly revered career, Chris embarked on a very successful sold-out solo 2011 spring tour, appropriately titled Songbook. This Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter taped a number of these solo and acoustic performances, which now are featured on his exciting new deluxe 2 LP set SONGBOOK.

In collaboration with Universal Music Enterprises, Friday Music is pleased to announce the exclusive limited edition 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl edition of Chris Cornells latest album SONGBOOK.

Filled with 16 live tracks from various venues during the spring Songbook tour, Chris Cornell revisits some of his finest repertoire with stunning versions of Soundgarden classics Black Hole Sun and Fell On Black Days, plus imperative tracks from his Audioslave days with Wide Awake and Temple Of The Dogs Call Me A Dog.

Chris also offers up some new takes on two familiar covers including Led Zeppelins Thank You and John Lennons Imagine, as well as several solo album tunes including one of his latest hits The Keeper.

To further your Songbook experience, this impeccable limited edition 180 Gram Audiophile

    Ten

Ranked 207/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Ten, the debut album that sold 12 million copies and introduced the world to Pearl Jam in 1991, is now being reissued in four new and expanded editions. The reissue of Ten serves as the launch of a planned two-year catalog re-release campaign leading up to the bands 20th anniversary in 2011.

This edition of Ten is packaged on two vinyl LPs and includes two versions of the album: the remastered version of the original album plus an accompanying remixed version done by the bands long-time producer, Brendan OBrien (Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Audioslave).

The band loved the original mix of Ten, but were also interested in what it would sound like if I were to deconstruct and remix it, says producer Brendan OBrien. The original Ten sound is what millions of people bought, dug and loved, so I was initially hesitant to mess around with that. After years of persistent nudging from the band, I was able to wrap my head around the idea of offering it as a companion piece to the original, giving a fresh take on it, a more direct sound.

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, who served as the art director for the original Ten packaging, reprised his role for the reissues collaborating with designer, Andy Fischer, of Cameron Crowes Vinyl Films (Into the Wild soundtrack LP, Vanilla Sky soundtrack LP, Harold and Maude anniversary edition soundtrack LP). The goal was to assemble the ultimate fan-piece, explains Fischer. Something Pearl Jam lovers could pore over as they experience an indelible record all over again, in an entirely new way.

Pearl Jam originally released Ten on August 27, 1991. The album reached #2 on the Billboard 200 chart, sold over 12 million copies and became one of the cultural touchstones of the '90s. Songs such as Alive, Black, Even Flow and Jeremy became staples of rock radio, and still make frequent appearances on the bands ever-changing concert setlists. The album was produced by Rick Parasher. Pearl Jams 1991 lineup was Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (guitar), Dave Krusen (drums), Mike McCready (guitar) and Eddie Vedder (vocals).

Pearl Jam releases a new album called The Broadcasts 1992. The 16-track album is largely made up of material from their debut album Ten and a cover version of The Who's classic "Baba O'Riley".

When Pearl Jam released their debut album Ten in 1991, it heralded a new era for alternative music in the US mainstream. The band toured extensively in support of the album, and on March 28, 1992, they played the Cabaret Metro in Chicago - a performance that provides insight into a band on the verge of global superstardom and displaying a confidence and ability that suggests they knew exactly where they are headed. In addition to the Cabaret Metro performance, five bonus cuts are included from various television broadcasts made throughout 1992, including a version of The Who's "Baba O 'Riley".

Taking a break from his day job fronting rock heavyweight Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder immerses himself into the big-screen story of a young man who gives all his money to charity and hitchhikes to a new life, and his eventual death, in the wilds of Alaska. Prompted by the film's creator, Sean Penn, to contribute to the musical score, the Seattle musician tackled the entire project, playing every instrument on the soundtrack's nine originals and two cover songs.

Mastered Specifically For Vinyl By Bob Ludwig

    Features Recreations Of Original Packaging

Pearl Jam reissues Yield on 150-gram vinyl for the first time since the album has been available on the format since its original release. The album is mastered specifically for vinyl, by Grammy Award-winning engineer Bob Ludwig and it features recreations of their original packaging.

On Yield, Pearl Jam and Brendan OBrien teamed up once again for a spirited session marked by the breakthrough of band members (guitarists Mike McCready and Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament and drummer Irons) bringing in finished songs for Vedder to add his signature lyrics to. With a more accessible mainstream rock sound and a full-scale tour that found the band relenting to use some Ticketmaster venues (and replacing Irons with Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, the bands drummer to this day), Yield became the bands fifth straight album to be certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

    Victorious

The follow-up to 2009's Cosmic Egg and 2014's New Crown, the much-anticipated Victorious is an electrifying testament to the range and depth of songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale's artistry. Recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles with two-time Grammy-winning producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Chris Cornell, Bruce Springsteen), the songs are edgy, inventive and uncompromising and rank among the band's best ever.

Stockdale began working on the record this past January at his Byron Bay studio in New South Wales, writing on every instrument and embracing the same creative approach he used on the band's debut album a decade ago.

Back in the early days, I'd play guitar, bass, and drums and then present the ideas to the band and we'd work on the arrangement together, he says. I thought it would be cool to get back to demoing ideas by myself and playing everything. It's a good way to do things because it can make the style more cohesive.

In addition to vocals, Stockdale played guitar and bass and brought in Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Bruce Springsteen, A Perfect Circle) and Joey Waronker (Air, Beck, REM) to split drum duties.

    Lightning Bolt

Pearl Jam will release their much-anticipated tenth studio album, Lightning Bolt, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records in the US. Produced by Brendan O'Brien, Lightning Bolt marks Pearl Jam's first studio album since the highly acclaimed Backspacer, which was released nearly four years ago in September of 2009.

... Eyeing the milestone of 50, Vedder is very comfortable in his skin: he's no longer raging against the dying light or tilting at windmills, he's choosing his battles, knowing when to lie back so he can enjoy the rush of rock pushed out from his familiar, but never lazy, colleagues. This unhurriedness may seem to run counter to the rebellious spirit of rock & roll, but for all their insurrectionist acts, Pearl Jam weren't upstarts: they eagerly accepted the torch of arena rock when it was handed to them. On Lightning Bolt, they've grown into that classic rock mantle, accentuating the big riffs and bigger emotions, crafting songs without a worry as to whether they're hip or not and, most importantly, enjoying the deep-rooted, nervy arena rock that is uniquely their own.

    The Beat Greatest

    180 Gram Picture Disc Vinyl

    Limited To 500

12 Of Their Original Classic Hits

    Transparent PVC Cover With Sticker

This collection features 12 of The Beat's (known as The English Beat in the U.S.) greatest hits. Featuring classic hits such as 'Mirror in the Bathroom', 'Hands Off...She's Mine', 'Can't Get Used to Losing You', 'Too Nice to Talk To', 'Best Friend' and many more.

    BIOGRAPHY:

The Beat was formed in Birmingham in 1979, with members Dave Wakeling (vocals, guitar), Ranking Roger (vocals, toasting), Andy Cox (guitar), Everett Morton (drums), veteran Jamaican saxophonist Saxa, and from the Isle of Wight, David Steele on bass. The band was part of the West Midlands ska revival scene that also produced The Specials and The Selecter, whilst London saw the formation of Madness and The Bodysnatchers.

The Beat's first single was an arresting version of Smokey Robinson's ''Tears Of A Clown'', given a completely new feel, and was backed with their own composition ''Ranking Full Stop''. Released in a one-off deal on Jerry Dammers' Chrysalis-backed 2-Tone label, the single stormed into the Top 10 in December 1979, and saw the band appear twice on Top Of The Pops.

Backed by Arista, the band formed their own label Go-Feet Records, with its own distinctive art direction and design provided by Hunt Emerson. The first release in February 1980 was another Top 10 hit, ''Hands Off... She's Mine'', and was the first of twelve chart singles for the band on Go-Feet, a list that includes permanent favourites like ''Mirror In The Bathroom'', ''Too Nice To Talk To'', ''Best Friend'', ''All Out To Get You'', ''Doors Of Your Heart'', ''Save It For Later'' (later covered by both The Who and Pearl Jam!), ''Jeanette'', ''I Confess'' and their Top 3 hit cover of ''Can't Get Used To Losing You''.

The band released three albums ''I Just Can't Stop It'' (1980, # 3), ''Wha'ppen?'' (1981, # 3) and ''Special Beat Service'' (1982, # 21), which contained many tracks that demonstrated their more politicised and socially-conscious leanings in songs like ''Stand Down Margaret'', ''Get-A-Job'', ''Big Shot'' and ''Click Click''. The band broke up in 1983, Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger going on to form General Public, and Andy Cox and David Steele forming Fine Young Cannibals.

The late Nashville songwriter Harlan Howard famously defined the ingredients of a great song as three chords and the truth. Every songwriter knows three chords, but laying bare the truth? Now that can be an altogether trickier affair. In January of 2012, The Gaslight Anthem piled into their old tour van and headed across the New Jersey state line for a 14 hour road trip to Nashville on their own quest for the truth. Their destination was 2806 Azalea Place, Nashville, Blackbird Studio, where the New Brunswick quartet had booked five weeks recording time with producer Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, AC/DC). Their mission: to reconnect with rock 'n' roll in its most feral, pure, stripped-raw form.

Brian Fallon was thirteen years old when he discovered The Clash's self-titled debut album in the racks of Sound Effects Records in Hackettstown, New Jersey: the owner of the store promised the young teenager that the record would change his life. He wasn't wrong. But there was a time, not so very long ago, when The Gaslight's Anthem frontman had grown weary of the sound of electric guitars. After three albums of soulful, impassioned, hearts-on-fire punk rock, Sink Or Swim (2007), The '59 Sound (2008) and American Slang (2010), Fallon needed a change of pace, a change of scenery.

And so, in January of 2011, together with TGA guitar tech Ian Perkins, he formed The Horrible Crowes, a darkly melancholic side-project inspired by his love of The Afghan Whigs, Tom Waits and PJ Harvey. After the band's acclaimed debut album Elsie dropped in September, Fallon joined fellow punk rock troubadours Chuck Ragan, Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio) and Dave Hause (The Loved Ones) on the acoustic Revival Tour, airing stripped-down versions of Gaslight Anthem and Horrible Crowes songs to packed rooms across Europe. And then he returned home to New Jersey and Gaslight, re-energized, renewed and ready to make a full-tilt rock 'n' roll record again.

After six weeks of that there's nothing you want to hear more than a Marshall stack turned all the way up, he says with a laugh. The result is Handwritten, the most committed, affecting and compelling album of The Gaslight Anthem's career to date. Introduced by muscular lead-off single 45, which received it's world premiere on BBC Radio 1 as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record In The World on April 30, it finds the Jersey boys in inspired form, decanting '60's soul, '70's stadium rock, '80s hardcore and '90's grunge into eleven white-knuckle, blue-collar everyman anthems. Fallon likens its incandescent electrical storms to Tom Petty songs (being) played by Pearl Jam. Put more simply, it's a supercharged American rock 'n' roll classic.

We've taken everything we do and gone to 10 with it, explains Fallon. This is definitely the Gaslight Anthem record I would want next, if I were a fan. American Slang was cool, but this sounds like a band who has plugged back into the electric socket again. I think these songs are the closest thing to what we should have always sounded like, adds guitarist Alex Rosamilia. We just hadn't figured out yet how to play it right.

Fallon credits Brendan O'Brien for capturing the raw, live-off-the-floor feel of Handwritten. Fine-tuned in the living room of the small rental house the band shared in Nashville, its eleven tracks were recorded with the whole band eyeball-to-eyeball in one room at Blackbird, vibing off one another's energy. The electricity in the recordings is tangible. Brendan taught us a ton about songwriting and recording as a band, Fallon notes. The whole experience was amazing. That's the guy that recorded Pearl Jam, that's the guy that recorded Bruce Springsteen, that's the guy that did Rage Against The Machine; and that's the guy you want to say 'It's good', because when he says it's good, that's when it's good.

The purity of O'Brien's stark, unadorned recording process served to inspire Fallon's approach to the lyrical themes on Handwritten too. Where previous Gaslight Anthem albums evoked deathless images of Americana, all Cadillacs, jukeboxes, Ferris wheels and wistful, romanticized vignettes of star-struck lovers disappearing into the great wide open, Handwritten is rooted in Fallon's own experiences, lending the record a more immediate, emotional edge. Now I am no angel but I got nothing to hide, the singer rasps on the brooding grunge-noir of Too Much Blood. Can you say the same thing for yourself tonight?

It's supposed to be a letter to whoever is listening, says Fallon. Like, this is what we got beat up by and maybe you did too. There's so many things that I just never wrote about, real personal stuff that I just wasn't ready to talk about yet. Now I think being an adult I have some reflection on it. We wanted to look back on the music that we first found when we were in high school. The truth is, if you're my age, you were listening to Peal Jam and Nirvana and Soundgarden. When that music came out these were guys that we could relate to. They weren't the biggest bands in the world by accident.

And it's no accident either that with Handwritten, the Gaslight Anthem themselves sound built to take on the world. After years paying their dues in the punk rock underground, their major label debut is assuredly the work of a young band who know their time is now. And their laidback, charismatic frontman is ready. I've always been ready for arenas, Fallon smiles. I've just been waiting for them to catch up to me. I want to play Giant Stadium, I always wanted to be a major label, major league band. If I can be the kid that's on the cover of Time magazine, I'll take it. And I'll buy you a drink while I'm at it.

    I'm Not There (Bob Dylan)

I'm Not There is a meta-biographical film re-imaging the life of Bob Dylan as portrayed by six different actors - Marcus Carl Franklin, Ben Whishaw, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, and Cate Blanchett - in six different phases of the artists life and career.

The 4LP I'm Not There set features songs from and inspired by this film. The new interpretations of Bob Dylan songs are performed by an eclectic cavalcade of acclaimed and celebrated contemporary musicians including Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Sonic Youth, Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Jack Johnson, Sufjan Stevens, Mark Lanegan and many others!

Many of the album's performances include backing from The Million Dollar Bashers, an ensemble created especially for 'Im Not There' by Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo, featuring Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, Television guitarist Tom Verlaine, Wilco bassist Nels Cline, guitarist Smokey Hormel, keyboardist John Medeski and long-time Bob Dylan band bassist Tony Garnier. Other tracks on the album feature the alternative-country band Calexico backing up artists.

I'm Not There includes two versions of the enigmatic title track, a new interpretation performed by Sonic Youth and the original Bob Dylan recording, a rare often-bootlegged outtake from The Basement Tapes sessions which has been unavailable on any official release for a long time.
