"I've always thought that country music had a really unique relationship with gospel music. It is interesting to me that country stars can sing drinking and cheating songs authentically, then at some point
during the evening or the broadcast, take their hats off and say, 'Friends, here's our gospel song.'

...That's a time-honored tradition, from Jimmie Rodgers to Hank Williams to Johnny Cash...That is my
    world." -Marty Stuart

For over forty years, the five-time Grammy winning multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, photographer and historian has been building a rich legacy at this very crossroads.

On his latest release with his band, Kenny Vaughn, Harry Stinson and Paul Martin--AKA: The Fabulous Superlatives--Saturday Night & Sunday Morning, Stuart captures all the authentic neon and
stained-glass hues of country music - from love and sex to heartache and hardship to family and God.

    The Royal Sessions

200-Gram Audiophile Vinyl Pressed At Quality Record Pressings!

Paul Rodgers, longtime singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with Bad Company, has partnered with 429 Records and is gearing up for the release
of "The Royal Sessions"-a lovingly crafted collection of classic R&B and soul songs re-imagined by the iconic rock singer recorded at Memphis' Royal
Studios, historic home of Willie Mitchell and Hi Records, with many of the musicians who played on the original tracks.

Truly a lifetime in the making, Rodgers has come full circle with "The Royal Sessions" as he pays homage to the legendary hits he collected on 45s
released on Stax/Volt, Goldwax and Hi Records-recordings by Otis Redding, Albert King and Ann Peebles which made such an indelible impression on
the young Rodgers inspiring him to pursue a career as a singer. Produced by Perry Margouleff, "The Royal Sessions" is an extraordinary recording which
captures the music in its pure form-live band and vocal takes as performed together at Royal Studios by Rodgers and an all-star roster of legendary musicians.

About the record, Michael Fremer says, Sonically, what do you think results from live in the hallowed studio basic tracks and vocals recorded all analog, mixed to analog tape and cut from analog tape? It's spectacular! Play this record and then the CD for your friends who think CD is transparent to the source. Let them compare the drum sound, the cymbal crashes, the space and the image three dimensionality. Let them consider Rodgers in the room and then on CD not quite in the room. A musical triumph and a sonic in the studio spectacular.

    Run With The Pack (Deluxe)

During a rare break from touring, Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, Simon Kirke and Boz Burrell got together in France to record new songs using the Rolling Stones mobile recording studio. Those sessions produced Run With The Pack, a 10-song album that came out in early 1976 and rose to #4 in England and #5 in America, where it sold three million copies alone. Radio stations embraced the title track along with a cover of The Coasters Young Blood, while Silver, Blue & Gold became one of the band s signature tracks, even though it was never officially released as a single.

The bonus LP that accompanies RUN WITH THE PACK: DELUXE EDITION includes unreleased early mixes for Honey Child and Simple Man, as well as an extended version of the title track. There s also the previously unreleased Let There Be Love, an outtake from the recording sessions. In fact, the acoustic version of Do Right By Your Woman, previously only available as the B-Side of the single release of Run With The Pack, is the only song on the bonus LP that has ever been previously released.

    Fire And Water

Free was one of the British bands that pioneered Hard Rock. Despite a short life span, they were a huge influence bands such as Bad Company and Foreigner, thanks to their style of stripped-down British Blues.

Their follow up to Free, Fire And Water, peaked at #17 in the album charts, carried by the classic Rock anthem All Right Now - which peaked at #4 in Billboard's Hot 100 in 1970. Paul Kossoff's guitar playing and Paul Rodger's incredible voice made Free one of the best bands around. Their revered legacy is justified with Music On Vinyl's 180 gram audiophile treatment.

    Straight Shooter (Deluxe)

Straight Shooter is the second studio album by British supergroup Bad Company. The original album was released in April 1975.

One of the most acclaimed bands of the classic rock era, England's Bad Company has put its indelible stamp on rock 'n' roll with a straight-ahead, no-frills musical approach that has resulted in the creation of some of the most timeless rock anthems ever. Led by the incomparable singer and songwriter Paul Rodgers, arguably the finest singer in rock 'n ' roll and a huge songwriting talent.

Formed in 1973, Bad Company came to life when Rodgers was looking to start anew after the disintegration of his legendary band Free. His powerhouse vocals and songwriting were a main ingredient during Free's impressive five-year run; a period of time that saw the release of seven extremely influential albums that featured Free's minimalist blues-rock approach. Included among Free's dynamic body of work is the 1970 smash, All Right Now, one of the most recognizable rock anthems ever recorded. Lyrics and melody by Rodgers. He was Free's main songwriter.

    Dig

Taking up from where iconic bands like Deep Purple and Bad Company have left off, Heaven & Earth is on a mission to resurrect the sanctity of classic rock in its purest, most accessible form on their third studio album titled Dig. Dig was produced by Dave Jenkins-who's turned the knobs for everyone from Metallica to Tower of Power-and features special guests Howard Leese (Heart, Paul Rodgers), Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) and David Paich (Toto).

Heaven & Earth-guitarist Stuart Smith, singer Joe Retta, bassist Chuck Wright, drummer Richie Onori and keyboardist Arlan Schierbaum-fuse elements of hard rock, blues and bits of classical with bravado and a razor-sharp focus.

As the band's founder and visionary, Smith says about Dig, "I feel that with the crafting of the songs on this album, the incredible band we've put together, especially with powerhouse vocalist Joe Retta and the unwavering support of Quarto Valley Records' President, Bruce Quarto, we really have a shot at getting Heaven & Earth the attention it deserves. This album is by far, the best thing I have ever done in my life!"

The British-born guitarist spent the 70's bending strings with numerous groups before he distinguished himself by making the acquaintance of Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore, who mentored the up-and-coming musician. "I'm probably one of the few people in the world who grew up with a poster of someone on their wall, ended up meeting them, becoming friends with them, and getting mentored by them," Smith notes. At the urging of Blackmore, Smith migrated to Los Angeles where the seeds for Heaven & Earth were planted. The band released two critically acclaimed albums-Heaven & Earth Featuring Stuart Smith (1994) and Windows to the World (2000)-which helped advance Smith's musical vision. Now, with Dig complete, the guitarist says Heaven & Earth is a true band, an energized collective of like-minded musicians who are excited at bringing its unique, celestial brand of rock to audiences all over the world in 2013. "All the pieces are in place," he explains with graceful candor. "We're ready to make this our year."

All the backing tracks on Dig were recorded at Ocean Studios in Burbank, California, and all the overdubs were done at the band's own Wine Cellar Studios in Woodland Hills, California. To further refine the record's sonic reach, Jenkins used a Closed Loop Analog Signal Processor (CLASP), a device that integrates real analog tape recording into digital tools like Pro Tools to create a warm and vintage sound. Both Van Halen and Aerosmith enlisted a CLASP on their most recent albums.

    The Paris Concert: Edition One

Numbered, Limited Edition! Pressed at RTI!

Mastered by Bernie Grundman from the Original Masters!

Edition One of The Paris Concert by Bill Evans was recorded live in November 1979 at L'espace Cardin in Paris, France. Evans is assisted by bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Joe LaBarbera. This first edition of the two includes Gershwin's I Loves You Porgy, Rodgers & Hart's My Romance and Paul Simon's I Do It For Your Love.

Bill Evans was an American jazz pianist and composer who mostly worked in a trio setting. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, and is considered by some to have been the most influential post-World War II jazz pianist. Evans's use of impressionist harmony, inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, block chords, and trademark rhythmically independent, singing melodic lines continue to influence jazz pianists today.

Marc Johnson is an American jazz bass player, composer, and band leader. In 1978, Johnson joined legendary pianist Bill Evans in what would be Evans' last trio. Johnson toured and recorded with Evans until the death of the pianist in 1980. His many recording credits since then include discs with Joe Lovano, Michael Brecker, Stan Getz, Bob Brookmeyer, Gary Burton, John Abercrombie, Bill Frisell, Pat Metheny, Eliane Elias, Enrico Pieranunzi, Joey Baron, Philly Joe Jones, and many others.

Joe LaBarbera is an American jazz drummer and composer. He is best known for his recordings and live performances with the trio of pianist Bill Evans in the final years of Evans' career. Prior to joining Evans he worked in the quartet of Chuck Mangione and Joe Farrell. After Evans' death in 1980, Joe joined singer Tony Bennett.

With bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Joe La Barbera, Evans had one of the strongest trios of his career... -Scott Yanow, allmusic.com

By The Time I Get To Phoenix

Glen Campbell's commercial breakthrough came by way of the title track, which was the direct precursor in production terms to Wichita Lineman, and by the same writer. The cover of Paul Simon's Homeward Bound is sincere if a little perfunctory, but Campbell's rendition of Ernest Tubb's Tomorrow Never Comes is a bravura performance, rich and soulful, as well as recalling Rodgers & Hammerstein's You'll Never Walk Alone as done by Gerry & the Pacemakers. Cold December in Your Heart harks back to Campbell's country-folk material, a piece of midtempo country-pop. Material like that and the similar Back in the Race, Dorsey Burnette's Hey Little One, Jerry Reed's You're Young and You'll Forget, and Bill Anderson's Bad Seed hold up better than more pop-focused numbers like My Baby's Gone, though the string backings on most of these very much date them. The final number here, the touching Love Is a Lonesome River, makes a brilliant coda.

    Bob Dylan (Mono & Stereo)

His Classic Debut Album on Mono and Stereo - 2LP Gatefold Set on 180 Gram Vinyl!

Bob Dylan's first album is a lot like the debut albums by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones -- a sterling effort, outclassing most, if not all, of what came before it in the genre, but similarly eclipsed by the artist's own subsequent efforts. The difference was that not very many people heard Bob Dylan on its original release (originals on the early-'60s Columbia label are choice collectibles) because it was recorded with a much smaller audience and musical arena in mind. At the time of Bob Dylan's release, the folk revival was rolling, and interpretation was considered more important than original composition by most of that audience. A significant portion of the record is possessed by the style and spirit of Woody Guthrie, whose influence as a singer and guitarist hovers over Man of Constant Sorrow and Pretty Peggy-O, as well as the two originals here, the savagely witty Talkin' New York and the poignant Song to Woody; and it's also hard to believe that he wasn't aware of Jimmie Rodgers and Roy Acuff when he cut Freight Train Blues. But on other songs, one can also hear the influences of Bukka White, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Willie Johnson, and Furry Lewis, in the playing and singing, and this is where Dylan departed significantly from most of his contemporaries. Other white folksingers of the era, including his older contemporaries Eric Von Schmidt and Dave Van Ronk, had incorporated blues in their work, but Dylan's presentation was more in your face, resembling in some respects (albeit in a more self-conscious way) the work of John Hammond, Jr., the son of the man who signed Dylan to Columbia Records and produced this album, who was just starting out in his own career at the time this record was made.

There's a punk-like aggressiveness to the singing and playing here. His raspy-voiced delivery and guitar style were modeled largely on Guthrie's classic '40s and early-'50s recordings, but the assertiveness of the bluesmen he admires also comes out, making this one of the most powerful records to come out of the folk revival of which it was a part. Within a year of its release, Dylan, initially in tandem with young folk/protest singers like Peter, Paul & Mary and Phil Ochs, would alter the boundaries of that revival beyond recognition, but this album marked the pinnacle of that earlier phase, before it was overshadowed by this artist's more ambitious subsequent work. In that regard, the two original songs here serve as the bridge between Dylan's stylistic roots, as delineated on this album, and the more powerful and daringly original work that followed. -- Bruce Eder

    Standard Coltrane (Out Of Stock)

John Coltrane brought a new sound and style to jazz, and he applied it in his own unique way to the standard material of the storehouse of American music gathered from Broadway, Hollywood and Tin Pan Alley. With the excellent rhythm team of Red Garland, Paul Chambers (both of whom had done so many concert, club and recording dates with him) and Jimmy Cobb and the Miles-directed flugelhorn of Wilbur Harden, Trane puts his personal stamp on numbers not done that often like Henry Nemo's Don't Take Your Love from Me, Fred Ahlert's I'll Get By and two more familiar yet still not overdone songs, Richard Rodgers' Spring Is Here and Bronislau Kaper's Invitation.
