Brand New Album
Mike Rosenberg has been busking and serenading bar patrons as Passenger since he dropped out of high school at 17. He's traveled across Europe and released a slew of independent albums, and now, following the sudden success of his somber folk tune, Let Her Go, the Brighton, U.K. singer-songwriter will release his new album, Whispers on June 9th.
Passenger debuting the lead single Scare Away the Dark on The Tonight Show on Friday, March 28th 2014. Passenger recorded Whispers' 11 songs in Sydney with co-producer Chris Vallejo. While the album grapples with real and fictional tales of death, love and aging, Rosenberg calls Whispers easily the most 'up' album I've ever made. The title track, in particular, finds Rosenberg grappling with his inner turmoil as Let Her Go took off. After picking up a co-sign from, and opening gigs with, Ed Sheeran, Passenger went on to sell 1 million copies of the song last October and more than 2.5 million copies overall, while the video captured more than 155 million views on YouTube.LP1

It's been a remarkable journey for Mike Rosenberg, the singer songwriter behind Passenger. A journey that has inspired some of the finest songwriting you'll hear anywhere, whether on a street corner, a sweaty rock'n'roll room or a concert stage. Indeed, Mike honed his craft on the street busking, singing songs for spare change, all the while travelling and impressing crowds from the UK (where he played with the likes of Jools Holland and Ed Sheeran) to Australia, where he recorded All The Little Lights. All The Little Lights shows this amazing singer loving life to the fullest. The second record in this double LP is an acoustic performance.LP 1

A.M.+ Full Length CD - LP Cut from Original Masters and Pressed at Pallas in Germany!
Established from the ashes of alt-country legends Uncle Tupelo by Jeff Tweedy and other former members, Wilco was an apple that initially didn't fall too far from the tree. Their debut album, A.M. builds on the former group's brand of updated country-rock and emotionally charged songwriting, albeit with a more noticeable emphasis on the rock here. Many of the best creations on A.M. from the driver's-licenseless drunk in Passenger Side to the bar-band celebration of riverboat gambling on Casino Queen also sport an unprecedented sense of humor and playfulness that ultimately strengthens the songwriting and its appeal.1. Recent SongsRecent Songs is the sixth studio album by Leonard Cohen, released in 1979. It was a return to Cohen's acoustic folk music after the Phil Spector experimentation of Death of a Ladies' Man, but now with many jazz and Oriental influences.
The album includes Gypsy violin player Raffi Hakopian, and even a Mexican Mariachi band. Long-time Cohen collaborator Jennifer Warnes prominently appears in vocal tracks. Members of the band Passenger played on four of the songs and Garth Hudson of The Band also appeared on the album.
Came So Far for Beauty seems to be an unaltered outtake from the unfinished 1975 album Songs for Rebecca , which also included early versions of The Traitor and The Smokey Life (then with music by John Lissauer).
Ballad of the Absent Mare's metaphoric lyrics are based on the twelfth-century Ten Bulls (or Ten Ox-herding Pictures). The song is covered by several artists, notably Emmylou Harris on the album Cowgirl's Prayer (as Ballad of a Runaway Horse).

A shimmering ambient tone, an electronic underlay to the lulling chatter of
crickets, makes way for the unmistakable voice of Patti Smith, quietly intoning,
ominously, "The killer road is waiting for you / like a finger, pointing in the night."
Behind the music and concept of Killer Road is international trio Soundwalk
Collective - Stephan Crasneanscki, Simone Merli, and Kamran Sadeghi - who,
alongside Patti Smith's daughter, Jesse Paris, conceived an immersive exploration
of the tragic death of Christa PÄffgen. Better known as Nico, the Velvet
Underground chanteuse and solo pioneer, PÄffgen died while riding her bike on
the island of Ibiza in the summer of 1988. Ironically, she'd recently got her health
back, after fifteen years of heroin addiction. It was Nico's body's reaction to its
new sobriety, and the fact she was cycling at the hottest time of the day, on the
hottest day of the year, that was to prove her undoing.
In the years before she died, Nico had not neglected her creative muse, writing
poetry that would never be published, or heard, until now, in the form of the
opening title track, "Killer Road." The tracks that follow are eight interpretations
of Nico lyrics, predominantly taken from classic albums such as Desertshore and
Drama of Exile, arranged by fellow poet and kindred spirit Patti Smith.
The roots of Killer Road lie in a fortuitous meeting on an airplane bound for New
York. One passenger was Smith; the other was Soundwalk Collective founder
Crasneanscki. Soundwalk had previously been a collaborative series of walking
guides to cities that created an idiosyncratic and evocative understanding for the
listener, before evolving into musical frameworks for field recordings and sight
specific sound installations and performances using a variety of texts and themes.
Killer Road was initially a live audio-visual experience, at the French Institute
Alliance Francaise in New York as part of 2014's Crossing the Line festival. Finally,
we now have the recorded version, a poignant, profound, imaginative exploration
and tribute nearly 30 years after that fateful summer's day.1. Killer Road

The End Of Teenage Disillusionment
Leave your candy-colored cans in the toy chest and try a pair of proper headphones. Grado RS2e are hand-crafted from select Mahogany tone-woods, like a fine musical instrument. Our exclusive Series E curing process enhances the natural properties of the wood to produce rich, full-bodied vocals in a light-weight form factor. Put on Brian Eno's 'Another Green World', close you eyes and dream as if you'll live forever.
The RS2e is the little brother of the RS1e but is just as aesthetically pleasing, now utilizing our proprietary curing process that gives a new, lighter look. The RS2e has a 44mm driver and uses The e Series 8 conductor cable design. The hand-crafted mahogany utilizes new advanced damping treatments that help control and dissipate resonances. The RS2e still maintains an overall sound that is pure Grado, with warm harmonic colors, rich full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics, and an ultra-smooth top end. These truly are an audiophiles dream.
... We not only felt every tremor and shudder of the gigantic plane, we heard even the most subtle details, such as the ice cubes rattling the passengers' plastic beverage cups. The combination of an engrossing film and an impressive set of headphones made it feel as though the RS-2s disappeared and the sound seemed to be coming from far outside the actual confines of the headphones.

Volunteers (Pure Pleasure)Ranked 370/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Jefferson Airplane, wrote the magazine Rolling Stone, is a ship which transports its passengers to the revolutionary fantasies of their own minds. If only the group had included such well-formulated psychological analyses in their lyrics, then they would probably not have shot so meteorically into the orbit of the psychedelic 'acid rock' scene. And what is more: as self-appointed executors of chaos and anarchy, they 'turned on' their fans with musical sexual allegories, drug-extolling lyrics and revolutionary songs. In 1966, armed with a lucrative recording contract from RCA-Victor, they won through against much opposition from recording company bosses and released their album Volunteers, thereby bringing what is probably the very best recording from their early years to the public.
The music of these rock rebels is, in fact, a good deal less drastic than their texts. The leaders of the combo, Marty Balin and Paul Kantner, both of whom grew up in the Californian folk scene, have put their stake on melodic and rhythmically close-knit rock and multi-part vocals. And even today, one is still astounded by the wide range of styles favoured by the hippie generation, which stretches from the down-to-earth country music of The Farm to the electronically distorted collage Meadowlands.

About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.1. We Can Be Together

Field Commander Cohen Tour 1979Available On Vinyl For The First Time
Includes Insert With Song Lyrics
In 1979, after the release of his album Recent Songs [MOVLP311], Cohen set out on an international concert tour accompanied by members of the Austin-based Jazz-Rock group Passenger; Field Commander Cohen was compiled in 2000 from recordings of the 1979 tour, and it presents an especially strong argument for Cohen's gifts as a musician.
This is the first ever vinyl release of these live recordings at London's Hammersmith Odeon and Brighton's Dome Theatre. This may well be Cohen's best set of recorded performances as a singer, and having Jennifer Warnes and Sharon Robinson on hand as duet partners is especially rich icing on the cake. While the musicians take care to never intrude upon the songs, they play beautifully, with remarkable taste and skill; they bring out the nuances of these songs with a sure but gentle hand.LP1

Shine A Light: Field Recordings From The Great American RailroadIn March 2016, singers Billy Bragg and Joe Henry, guitars in hand, boarded a Los Angeles bound train at Chicago's Union Station with the hope of reconnecting with the culture of American railroad travel and the songs it inspired. Winding along 2,728 miles of track, the pair recorded songs while the train paused to pick up passengers. In waiting rooms and at the track side in St. Louis, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Alpine, El Paso and Tucson, they set up their recording equipment, performing classic railroad songs while keeping one eye on the train, bounding back aboard just before pulling out for the next town. After four days crossing the country, they pulled into Los Angeles at 4:30am, recording their final song in Union Station at dawn, just as the first birds began to sing.
The resulting album Shine A Light: Field Recordings From The Great American Railroad takes listeners along on that journey and will be released September 23 on Cooking Vinyl Records. The album features the perfectly matched voices of Bragg & Henry and captures the varied atmospheres and environments in which they recorded-from the close proximity of soft furnished sleeping cars to cathedral-like ambience of waiting halls built to hold thousands of passengers. Containing thirteen songs originally recorded by legendary singers such as Lead Belly, Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers and more, the album reveals an often forgotten but integral part of America's musical heritage.1.
