Operation Ivy Energy was the full length album follow up to the Hectic EP and features nineteen songs now available again on vinyl for the first time in years. Operation Ivy was a legendary Berkeley, California based 4-piece punk/ska band fronted by future Rancid cohorts Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman who helped create the Gilman street punk scene that also spawned Green Day and AFI.

    ...Honor Is All We Know

Rancid's new record Honor Is All We Know is much like their other records in
the sense that it is filled with the stories and characters that populate the
band's lives, and reflects the cultural and political climate in which it was
written and recorded. It has classic Rancid songcraft: two minute songs packed
with melody, personally empathetic and politically denunciatory. But Honor
Is All We Know is also unique in that it is filled with the growing insight of
a band who has been doing this for a while now: it feels natural and organic,
written without an agenda or a bone to pick, rather the culmination of lives
lived largely with a keen interest in the world and a sense of brotherhood.

In the late 1980's Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman of Rancid were founders of
arguably the most influential band from the Bay Area Operation Ivy. Operation
Ivy has been cited by everyone from Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong to Fat
Mike of NOFX as the group that most affected the sound of their own bands.
Rancid has lead in extensive career since those days back in the East Bay including selling nearly 3 million albums with one Platinum album and one Gold
Record under their belts (And Out Come the Wolves, Let's Go). In the midst of
anniversaries for both albums, Rancid will be playing some high-profile festival shows in 2015, and the moment has never been better for old and new fans to
remind themselves of the cultural force and punk rock power of Rancid.

After a 5 year hiatus, Canadian electronic music producers MSTRKRFT (Jessi F. Keeler & Al-P) are back. Driven by distorted drum beats, hauntingly hypnotic synths, and booming cinematic soul, OPERATOR immediately captivates. "It's probably the most acurate reflection of how we work on stage," says Jesse. "We had to be very creative with very few elements. It took time to figure that out".

2011 was the last time we heard from MSTRKRFT with the release of the single "BACK IN THE USSA", following their Juno Award-winning debut album THE LOOKS in 2006. MSTRKRFT have released official remixes for everybody from KATY PERRY and KYLIE MINOGUE to WOLFMOTHER, Justice and Bloc Party. 2009's FIST OF GOD boasted collaborations with the likes of John Legend, Ghostface Killah, E-40, N.O.R.E., Lil' Mo and more as it predicted an eventual crossover between hip-hop and electronic music on the horizon.

    Daily Operation

While most groups fall off on the 3rd album, this wasn't the case at all with Gang Starr's classic "Daily Operation". Guru continued to deliver intellectual
hardcore, mixing deft rhymes with serious beatology while Premier mines the jazz vaults, uncovering some seriously dusty grooves, with which he
concocts some of the best minimalist hip-hop to ever be committed to wax.

Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) will continue its "Respect the Classics" tribute to many of hip-hop's finest with the vinyl re-issue of Daily Operation
from the seminal rap group Gang Star. This classic album is being re-issued back on vinyl with a 3D lenticular cover treatment, giving the timeless cover
art multiple, mind blowing layers of depth. From the timeless picture of Malcolm X on the back wall to the briefcase overflowing with money that appears
to leap off the cover, this classic album has been given the perfect cover treatment for collectors new and old....RESPECT THE CLASSICS!

    Sleeping Operator

'Sleeping Operator' represents an immense creative output. The group, featuring brothers Brad on guitar/vocals and Andrew on drums, classical harpist
Sarah PagÉ, and pianist/bassist Andrès Vial, recorded 40 tracks in the process of making this record. The 13 songs on 'Sleeping Operator' are meditative
and explosive, exploring the far reaches of folk laced with West African influences, hypnotic modernist pulsing and beyond. While the record extends into
cinematic and other-worldly territories, it maintains a campfire-like intimacy throughout.

The Barr Brothers recorded their "thrillingly unusual" (Washington Post) and "sacred-sounding" (Rolling Stone) debut album in a home-made studio in a
Montreal boiler room back in 2011. They took it to Letterman, NPR, shared stages with Emmylou Harris and The National, headlined the Montreal Jazz
Fest in front of 58,000 people, and did major tours across the US and around the world.

Operation Mindcrime was Queensryche's breakthrough album, garnering the band commercial and critical success. Arguably their best release, it's a complex, ambitious effort, with top-notch music and a complicated storyline that flows smoothly from start to finish. The combination of experimental, progressive music with shorter, more radio-friendly songs enabled the band to release singles from the album while keeping the story intact and the cuts Revolution Calling, Eyes of a Stranger and I Don't Believe in Love happen to be some of the best metal songs out there.

    Operation: Doomsday (Silver Age Set)

This special edition 2xLP package comes housed in an all new exclusive jacket featuring DOOM's
infamous metal mask icon embossed out of a metallic silver foil.

Underneath his mysterious metal mask, MF Doom hides the cachet underground legends are made of. After KMD's 1994 sophomore album Bl_ck B_st_rds was turfed by Elektra in 1994 and Subroc (one half of the sibling rhyme duo) passed away, surviving KMD member Zev Love X mutated into the MC Avenger known as MF Doom. The Rap world is better for it. This 19-cut deep album is ridiculously dope, in a bizarro Ol' Dirty Bastard kind of way. Doom sounds either high or drunk on most of the tracks, his self-produced beats are gritty, and his rhyme styles are almost indecipherable. On arguably the best track, Rhymes Like Dimes, Doom weaves some pointed lyrics through his abstract wordplay, spitting 'only in America could you find a way to earn a healthy buck / And still keep your attitude on self-destruct.' Doomsday features female vocalist Pebbles the Invisible accompanying the masked rhyme avenger on his journey to denounce wack MCs, while on ? he trades hot verses with former Columbia artist Kurious Jorge. Doom's avant-garde ghetto-rhyme philosophies take even more intentionally weird twists on Tick, Tick... where he and guest MC MF Grimm's flows warble over a rhythm track whose tempo speeds up and slows down continually. The comic-book themed skits, many of which include snippets of dialogue from Marvel's Dr. Doom series, will help take you deep into the mind of an MC who is as otherworldly as they come. And in today's bland commercial Rap universe, Operation Doomsday's left-of-center beats and rhymes are the perfect remedy.

Merritone Rock Steady 2: This Music Got Soul 1966-1967

American rhythm & blues fervor, boosted by a multitude of sound systems playing 78rpm records on increasingly larger sets, gripped Jamaica from the late forties onwards but, towards the end of the decade, the American audience began to move towards a somewhat softer sound. The driving rhythm & blues discs became increasingly hard to find and the more progressive Jamaican sound system operators, realizing that they now needed to make their own music, turned to Kingston's jazz and big band musicians to record one-off custom cut discs. These were not initially intended for commercial release but designed solely for sound system play on acetate or 'dub plates' as they would later be termed. These 'specials' soon began to eclipse the popularity of American rhythm & blues and the demand for their locally produced music proved so great that the sound system operators began to release their music commercially on vinyl and became record producers. Clement 'Coxsone' Dodd, Duke Reid 'The Trojan' and Prince Buster, who operated his Voice Of The People Sound System, were among the first to establish themselves in this new role and the nascent Jamaican recording industry now went into overdrive.

In 1954 Ken Khouri had numbered among the first far-sighted entrepreneurs to produce mento records with local musicians (mento is Jamaica's original indigenous music) before progressing to opening Jamaica's first record manufacturing plant. Three years later he moved his operation to Foreshore Road (later renamed Marcus Garvey Drive) where, with the assistance of the inestimable Graeme Goodall, he updated and upgraded his recording studio. The importance of this enterprising move was critical to the development of Jamaican music and its influence both profound and far-reaching.

"It was Ken Khouri's Federal Recording Studio, the womb that gave birth to the talented writers, artists and musicians that gave Jamaica its musical identity." Prince Buster

Federal Records was not only the place for the sound system men to record their music but it was also where they had their records manufactured and, consequently, the company enjoyed a near-total monopoly on recording and record pressing in Kingston. In 1963 Ken Khouri sold his one track board to Clement 'Coxsone' Dodd, who established Studio One, and Ken imported the first stereo equipment to Jamaica and Federal began making stereo records. The following year WIRL (West Indies Records Limited) opened but the competition served to drive the company on to higher heights. Ken Khouri continued to work on his own productions and, in 1966, the seven-inch release of Hopeton Lewis' 'Take It Easy', recorded under the guidance of Trinidadian guitarist Lynn Taitt, ushered in the rock steady era.

These two essential albums showcase a stunning selection of well-known hits, and not so well-known rarities, from the vast Federal catalog. All tracks have been transferred direct from the master tapes and assembled with the invaluable assistance of Ken Khouri's son, Paul Khouri, who generously gave Dub Store unlimited access to the Federal tape vaults. The extensive liner notes feature extracts from extensive interviews with Paul Khouri whose knowledgeable recollections of working on Marcus Garvey Drive, not only as a producer but as an engineer and musician, are illuminating and educational. Both sets present an insight into the birth and growth of Federal Records and the Jamaican recording industry and are essential to an understanding of the real roots of reggae music.

    The Widow Blades (On Sale)

    White Vinyl with Black Speckles

Whilst growing up in the country and from an early age, Reigns Operatives A and B, became aware of the bizarre, yet inconclusive fate of a woman from a neighboring village. It took some years (and a great deal of wading through a seemingly endless stream of local conjecture) for them to ascertain that the woman in question was Millicent Blades: a middle-aged widow who had disappeared during the blizzard of 1978, vanishing somewhere between the villages of tup's Fold and Tone Gulley. Nothing was found of her save a set of interrupted footprints and a pile of clothes all turned inside out.

The intervening years have provided much in the way of outlandish theories pertaining to her disappearance but very little in the way of answers. In a possibly futile attempt to reverse this situation and still haunted by the stories they heard as children, Operatives A and B went back to the area to document her final journey across the countryside. Using equipment selected purely on the basis of portability and resistance to the elements (with perfect synchronicity, their week of recordings coincided with the heaviest snowfall since 1978). They recorded at all the key locations the widow visited (or thought to have visited) on her final, fateful day. The recordings proffered no conclusive answers: whether this was due to the inclemency of weather, the passing of time and the resultant cooling of the trail, or the operatives' disastrous decision to record the album under the influence of Hybrium Sulphate is a moot point.

    Lonely Starts & Broken Hearts

Left Alone is punk rock at its best, deriving influences from groups like Operation Ivy, The Clash, and Swingin' Utters. They've shared the stage with Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Briggs, Duane Peters And The Hunns, Horror Pops, and The Nerve Agents. Until now, they've lived the DIY lifestyle, booking their own shows, making their own merchandise, starting their own label, and releasing their own recordings. On this, their debut Hellcat release, they deliver a tightly sealed package of punk that plans to explode within seconds of hitting the play button.
