New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More LightColin Stetson established himself as an intensely original solo composer and performer in 2011 with the release of the widely acclaimed New History Warfare Vol. 2: Judges. Judges ended up on countless year-end lists and emphatically proved that Stetson's approach to solo saxophone transcends niche or genre; a unique and emotionally resonant instrumental music with influences as wide-ranging as jazz, metal, pop, soul, drone, industrial, minimalism, electro-acoustic and modern contemporary.
Remarkably, Stetson channels these manifold musical strains into a singularly identifiable and personal sound as a polyphonic soloist who doesn't rely on looping/layering or multi-track/overdubs technologies. Anyone who has seen Stetson in solo performance can attest to the stunning physicality of his circular-breathing technique and capacity to produce a seemingly impossible palate of multiple voicings simultaneously in real time - making his already beautiful and evocative compositions all the more enrapturing and viscerally human.
New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light is the final installment in a trilogy of solo albums and is Stetson's most ambitious song cycle to date, again recorded live in single takes with a wide array of microphone positions and again mixed by groundbreaking producer Ben Frost. Colin's membership in Bon Iver over the past two years has also led to vocal contributions from Justin Vernon for this record, who appears on four songs, with a diverse approach on each, and whose voice constitutes the only overdubbing on the album.
The record's 15-minute centerpiece, title track To See More Light, is the longest piece Stetson has yet recorded and possibly the heaviest: a tour de force of swirling arpeggiation, continuous breathing, pumping valves and vocalizations through the reed of the horn that gives way to a tremendous, screaming, sea-sawing dirge through the song's final movement. This latter stretch conjures a sort of saxophonic sludge metal, and the album's heaviosity references other sub-genres of metal as well, most notably in the hardcore blast of Brute (abetted by Vernon's cookie monster barking) and the ambient grindcore throb of Hunted. In other instances, the album is soulful and even hymnal, especially where Vernon's vocals play a lead role: opener And In Truth (featuring Vernon's most instantly recognisable contribution, of massed, multi-tracked harmonies), the cover of Washington Phillips' gospel tune What Are They Doing In Heaven Today, and Who The Waves Are Roaring For where Vernon delivers one of the more tender and honest vocal performances we've heard from him in any context.
New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light is the most cohesive and fully realized of Stetson's solo albums to date. It should reliably stand as the apotheosis of the New History Warfare trilogy, and certainly signals the full flourishing of Stetson's unique talents as both composer and performer, pressing his arsenal of virtuosic techniques into the service of vivid, impassioned and conceptually astute songcraft.1. Drogas LightA decade after Lupe Fiasco exploded onto the hip-hop scene with his seminal 2006 debut Food & Liquor, the Chicago native is closing the chapter on his career with his most visualized projects yet. The independent rapper, who parted ways with his former label Atlantic Records following the release of 2015's Tetsuo & Youth, hits his creative peak with a trilogy of albums-Drogas Light, Drogas and Skulls-the final curtain call on one of the most gifted lyricists and visionaries to grace the mic.
If anything, Drogas Light, the first delivery to fans arriving in early 2017 via 1st & 15th/Thirty Tigers, is a testament to Fiasco's artistic growth throughout the years. The 14-track LP is free of restraint, and daring by his standards: the sonic and storytelling palettes are vast and diverse, more so than ever before, traipsing genre and style with ease and touting songs to soundtrack everything from a night at the club to a quiet listen on headphones. Where Tetsuo & Youth leaned into more experimental pastures, Drogas Light is the embodiment of a musician whose foray beyond the boundaries of hip-hop feels increasingly natural, a glimpse into the genius that will be Fiasco's legacy as he inevitably walks away from the spotlight.
From the start of Drogas Light, Fiasco lays his rhyming skills bare, attacking a haunted beat accented by a screwed vocal sample on opener "Dopamine" that self-reflectively emphasizes the magnetism of the album ("Over-d off of this, but don't fall asleep 'til the dopamine hit!" he chants). The set is dotted with several trap-inflected songs-"NGL" featuring Ty Dolla $ign is a turn-up anthem that entertains the reasons why success comes slow to many, while the STREETRUNNER-produced lead single "Made in the USA" catalogues the various home-grown, illicit products manufactured in the country.
Fiasco has often been pegged as a socially conscious emcee, likened to peers including Common and Nas, and he lives up to the reputation on "City of the Year," where he explores the economic disparity of Chi-town. He flexes his storytelling muscle on the hypnotic, spinning "Jump," on which he unfolds the tale of going from a "trapper to a rapper" by supplying a female adversary with a career boost. But it's when the album hits the relax button that Drogas Light coasts on cushy grooves: "Kill," also featuring Ty Dolla $ign, is an after-hours ode to women who work at gentleman's clubs, and the vamping closer "More Than My Heart" is an emotionally charged hat-tip to all the mothers who would sacrifice anything for their children.
While Drogas Light signifies the beginning of the end for Fiasco, it represents how far he's come since he first entered the game and merely accents the intellectual breadth of the discography he'll leave behind. At the onset of career, rappers including Jay Z and Kanye West regarded him as the future of hip-hop, with the latter tapping him for a standout guest verse on "Touch the Sky" after Fiasco remixed West's hit "Diamonds from Sierra Leone." His debut album Food & Liquor earned him three Grammy nominations and a win for the Jill Scott-assisted "Daydreamin'," which netted the trophy for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2008.
In the years since, he evolved from the backpack rap of his debut with a string of classics including 2007's Lupe Fiasco's The Cool and 2011's Lasers, a prelude to the following year's Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. While Drogas Light is just a taste of what he has to offer in the new year, it's yet another earmark on a track record of an artist who continually comes into new bloom.1. Dopamine Lit (Intro)

Inviting LightPressed On Colored Vinyl
Every now and then a band comes along and speaks to the hearts of adolescents everywhere, as the true voice of their community. In the punk rock community, The Flatliners are that band right now. Their anthemic punk rock classics quickly catapulted them to the top of the scene, and the bands who inspired them quickly became their peers. In an age when overnight internet sensations are an everyday occurrence, it's hard to find a band that's grown organically, using word of mouth and non-stop touring to win fans over one show at a time.
Since 2002, The Flatliners have been busy touring the world over with the likes of NOFX, Bad Religion, Pennywise and Hot Water Music, as well as multiple stints on the Vans Warped Tour. "Inviting Light" is the band's 5th full-length album and is easily the band's strongest material to date. "Inviting Light" includes 12 melodic, catchy songs that will stay stuck in your head for months to come. It's the band's most mature effort, as it leans more rock than punk, but it doesn't alienate the band's core audience. It showcases them at the top of their game, as true masters of their craft.1. A Place Where There's No More PainLife Of Agony emerged from the New York music scene in the early ‚90s with one of the most distinctive
sounds in its genre. Best known for its 1993 metal/crossover debut River Runs Red, the band instantly
built a die-hard, cult following. For over two decades, the group toured relentlessly all over the world,
sharing stages with the biggest names in rock, including Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Foo
Fighters, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. After the much-praised Ugly (1995), LOA opted for a highly
energetic alternative rock approach on Soul Searching Sun (1997) and Broken Valley (2005) - the latter
produced by Greg Fidelman (Slipknot, Metallica). Life of Agony has sold over one million albums to date.
In 2016, LOA signed a deal with Napalm Records to record the group's 5th studio album, titled A Place
Where There's No More Pain. Rolling Stone hailed it as „One of the Most Anticipated Albums of the Year".
The album is produced by Matt Brown & Life Of Agony and mastered by Ted Jensen (Alice in Chains,
Machine Head, Deftones). The drive and intensity these ten blistering new tracks possess, surpass all
expectations that built up in the past 12 years - a cathartic Sturm & Drang experience for the listener that
matches the ferocity of River Runs Red with gut wrenching rock melodies. Raging guitar riffs, heartfelt
lyrics and killer grooves mark the return of LOA's signature sound and turn A Place Where There's No
More Pain into a passionate, soul-searching affair.
The highly emotional lyrics by singer Mina Caputo link all songs by the four-piece together, then and
now: born as Keith Caputo, she had her Transgender coming out in 2011, changed her name, but kept
her inimitable style of writing deeply from the heart. „And I just want to disappear and hide," she sings
and shines a light on the path of all lost souls - while steadily walking her own. „Many of our fans have
told us over the years that sharing our personal struggles has been cathartic for them in healing the pain
in their own lives. That uplifting energy we share at the shows, gives us hope that there's light at the end
of the tunnel. And for us and hopefully our fans, that short time when we're all together is a place where
there's no more pain."1. Meet My Maker

The Smallest LightDaisyhead is made up of Zach Chiarizzio (bass/vocals), Michael Roe (vocals/guitar), Curtis DuRard (guitar) and Chad Burroughs (drums). The band's sound takes listeners back to the heyday of the 90's post-hardcore/alternative rock and early 2000's era of Revelation Records while injecting their own unique edge and style. In 2013, they released their debut EP, I Couldn't Face You, which helped established the band as one of their scene's most promising newcomers.
In the fall of 2013, Daisyhead joined No Sleep Records and released a split EP with Have Mercy early the following year. After touring in support of the release the band entered the studio in the fall of 2014 to record their debut full-length record, The Smallest Light.
The Smallest Light is a record with thoughts shared by each member of the band, which makes it so much more special to me, says Roe. We wanted to be sure our first LP was one we were all really proud of, and that's exactly what it is. It's a pleasure to be releasing a record alongside some of my personal all time favorite records. I can tell that this record would not nearly be the same if it wasn't this exact lineup. Everyone equally shared the responsibility of making it what it is, and that becomes apparent when you learn more about the meaning behind the songs.
After several years of touring and EP releases, Daisyhead has arrived with the debut fans have been waiting for. From the infectious and anthemic jams of "Take" to the massive sing-along hooks in tracks like "Lacking Basis" and "I Didn't Deserve This," The Smallest Light proves even further that Daisyhead will be a staple in the scene for years to come.1. Need Your LightNeed Your Light, the fourth full-length album from Syracuses Ra Ra Riot, is the sound of a bands reinvigoration. Correspondingly, the album sees the band getting back to their house party roots without abandoning the more heady soundscapes they explored with 2013s Beta Love.
The band pulled in producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello) in order to start fleshing out ideas. Shortly afterward a writing trip to Milwaukee, the band soon found themselves crafting Need Your Light with a host of previous collaborators including Ryan Hadlock (who produced 2008s The Rhumb Line) and Andrew Maury (who is a longtime friend, collaborator and live sound engineer also co-produced 2010s The Orchard). Executive produced by Jill Scott and J.R Hutson (Pharell, Faith Evans), The Light Of The Sun features appearances by rappers Paul Wall, Doug E. Fresh, and Eve and traverses the rocky terrain of love, longing and loss.
The first single, So in Love, is a duet with Anthony Hamilton. When Scott first heard the track, a soul-filled melody that evokes the legendary pairing of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, she was moved to tears.
This music came about in a very organic way, says Scott reflecting on the free-style jam sessions that resulted in the creation of The Light Of the Sun, which drops in June of 2011. I've enjoyed the recording process more that I ever have before.LP 1

Remain In Light (Awaiting Repress)Ranked 126/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Cut from the Original Analog Masters and Pressed at RTI for Stunning Sound!
Formed in the mid 70s by art school chums David Byrne, Chris Franz, and Tina Weymouth and ex-Modern Lover Jerry Harrison, Talking Heads rose out of the CBGB punk crucible and proved themselves one of the most artistically adventurous and influential bands of all time. Their visionary, polyrhythmic sound fused elements including rock, funk, and punk with diverse world beats, avant-garde minimalism, and pure pop genius.
From their 1977 debut through their Brian Eno and self-produced classics and on to their swan song (1988's Steve Lillywhite-produced Naked), Talking Heads constantly broke creative boundaries while also scoring smart radio hits including "Burning Down The House," "Wild Wild Life," and, from 1980's Remain In Light, the brilliant "Once In A Lifetime."
Considered by many fans and critics alike to be the band's best album, Remain In Light was the third release in the Heads/Eno trilogy and fourth overall. More melodic and funkier sounding than that of its predecessors, the recording finds the band further exploring the African rhythms hinted at on 1979's Fear of Music with the help of a growing personnel that now included Adrian Belew (guitar), Bernie Worrell (keyboards), Steven Scales (percussion) and backing vocalists. As propulsive and essential as ever here on 180 gram vinyl courtesy of Warner Bros. Records!
"On this New Wave watershed, the avant-punk avatars became polyrhythmic pop magicians. David Byrne and Co. combined the thrust of P-Funk, the kinky grooves of Afropop and the studied adventurousness of producer Brian Eno - and they still had a pop hit with 'Once in a Lifetime'." - Rolling StoneThe Great Curve

Through Low Light And TreesIt's already been a very exciting 12 months for British duo Smoke Fairies (Jessica Davies & Katherine Blamire) and now they are set to release their critically acclaimed debut full-length Through Low Light And Trees. After 3 well received and now highly collectible 7 singles released in their native England, Smoke Fairies flew to Nashville to records their 4th by invitation from Jack White. The resulting Gastwon/River Song 7 single was released on Jack's own Third Man Records in early 2010. A limited edition vinyl compilation of their UK singles soon followed entitled Ghosts: A Compilation of A-Sides, B-Sides and an EP from the Recent Past.
Their new album, Through Low Light And Trees smoulders with an honest, often painful emotional intimacy. A lot of our songs are drawn from the experience of traveling around and leaving, or feeling distant and out of place, and the heartache that comes from looking back and longing. explains Katherine. The result is an exquisite blend of alternative folk-rock, without doubt, a more humid, bluesy brand of the genre; a sound that is both eerily ancient and thrillingly modern.1. Summer Fades

A Light That Never DiesOn his second album A Light That Never Dies which will be released in North America via Forty Below Records, KaiL Baxley has returned with a hard hitting, lush and beautifully haunting collection of songs. Co-produced with Producer/Engineer Eric Corne whose recording credits include Lucinda Williams, Glen Campbell, Kim Deal and John Mayall, the album was recorded over the last year in three different cities.
"We used a lot of really old gear on this one to capture that warm analog sound and preserve its truth," says KaiL about the album. "I'm proud of what Eric and I got out of the studio and I'm eager to get out on the road and share it with people."
Hailing from the small backwater town of Willison-Elko - a town so small that most people in South Carolina don't even know where it is, much less the rest of the world. It's only claim to fame is soul legend James Brown, with whom Baxley shared an unlikely friendship as a child. Perhaps this was one of the leading influences in Baxley's soul-drenched music or perhaps it was the similar circumstances in which they were raised that fuels such deep emotion in an individual.
Abandoned by both his mother and father as a small child Baxley was raised by his grandfather Woody until age 12. When he passed away, KaiL bounced from one living situation to another, rarely living in one place for more than a year at a time. It was in this constant migration that he found escape in a pair of old RCA headphones.
"It wasn't all bad really," he recalls. "I got to know quite a bit of music from all different genres during that time period. I'd stay with my uncle for a while and pick up some Van Morrison; my auntie gave me the Stones;friends parents turned me on to gospel. Then I discovered hiphop and it was all over. I was hooked."
This is the very apparent source of inspiration in KaiL Baxley's genre-bending music that also blends blues, indie rock, soul, gospel, and syncopated hiphop-style beats into a most exquisite and easily drinkable cocktail of sound - a sound that he has dubbed "Soul Swagger".
KaiL's debut effort, Heatstroke/The Wind and the War, was presented as a double EP which displayed the yin and yang of his musical range. A surprise nominee for NPR's Album Of The Year, it received critical acclaim, including a debut at SXSW, where Baxley was tapped as, "One of NPR's top new artists" by All Songs Considered.
"His voice falls somewhere between Joe Cocker and Bill Withers with a husky authority. The guy is a whiz-bang folkie-turned-soul-rocker and has a voice which can make you dance or which melts butter, depending upon the tune."

Dali Zensor 3 Speakers - Light Walnut
Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.
DALI ZENSOR 3 is the newest member of the award winning ZENSOR series. This brand new speaker is developed and built to sound much larger than it actually is. Using a 7" woofer based on the technology from the ZENSOR 7 and the tweeter module from the ZENSOR 1, the ZENSOR 3 is able to recreate the high frequencies, the mid range and the low bass in the best possible way..
We have designed the cabinet so that it is large enough to deliver a sufficient, controlled and deep bass and yet is small enough to be placed on a shelf or floor stand.
The woofer cones are made from a blend of fine grained paper pulp reinforced with wood fibres. This mix makes the cones stiff and light which ensures that every micro detail in the signal is reproduced unfiltered.
The 7" woofer increases the surface area by 15% compared to a 6½" woofer and this helps the ZENSOR 3 to deliver the same sound pressure with much less cone excursion, leading to an effortless reproduction of the dynamics in the music.
With a 4 layer voice coil magnet motor system the ZENSOR 3 produces an impressive 17% more B/L compared with speakers using the common 2 layer voice coil. A copper clad aluminum wire ensures optimal reproduction in the mid range, and the power of the magnet motor keep the bass controlled and precise.
The soft dome tweeter module has over and over again proved its ability to deliver a rich and detailed sound, and the module used in the ZENSOR 3 is no exception - delivering an extended frequency response with wide dispersion and low coloration.$595.00Dali Zensor 3 Light Walnut - Pair Buy Now
Regions Of Light And Sound Of GodRegions of Light and Sound of God is the first solo album from Jim James, the singer, songwriter and guitarist for My Morning Jacket. Over the course of fifteen years and six studio albums, James has been the focal point of a group that has grown into one of the most acclaimed and successful rock and roll bands in the world. With this project, he reaches into new territory that extends, but doesn't break from, My Morning Jacket's accomplishments.
Until now, James had never felt the call to create a longer-form album on his own. "I'm very lucky to play in a band with guys that I love, who are great at what they do," he says, "so on My Morning Jacket records, I don't have a need to play bass or keys or what have you. But as a person and as a musician, I love to play every instrument under the sun, and I wanted to make a record where I played all the instruments and produced/engineered it myself."
The results are nine songs that resist easy categorization, from the hazy space-funk of the opening "State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U.)" to the chiming, operatic pop of "A New Life." On Regions of Light and Sound of God, nothing is what it seems-touchstones from old-school R&B or island folk or hip-hop flicker into focus and then disappear; a delicate instrumental is titled "Exploding." It's complex but cohesive, intimate and hypnotic where My Morning Jacket might turn more wide-screen and epic.
"The album knew what it wanted to be," says James. "The songs would tell me what they wanted to be, and I just had to search around and find those sounds to bring them into this world."1. State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U)

By The Light Of The Moon (On Sale)Mastered from the original master tapes, Mobile Fidelity's numbered limited edition 180g LP brings these 11 songs to life and out of the clouded, foggy sonic environment in which they've remained for more than two decades. For the first time, T Bone Burnett's stripped-back production functions as it should. Namely, Los Lobos sound as if they're playing at a small, sweaty neighborhood joint late on a Sunday night for an audience of locals, friends, and family.
The group's uncanny ability to switch between instruments and effortlessly play each as if it's their innate right-listen to the seamless fashion in which electric and acoustic guitars, marimbas, organs, saxophones, harmonicas, and percussion create strikingly memorable soundscapes-comes to light amidst a warmer, airier, more organic and deep-black background.David Hidalgo's sweet, honeysuckle timbre, he and Cesar Rosas' overlapping tremolo guitars, and stacks of interwoven rhythms jump with vibrant electricity.
Shifting into storytelling mode, Los Lobos use By the Light of the Moon as an opportunity to meditate on everyday America and channel the fate of normal communities. Issues of faith, mortality, love, disillusionment, and melancholy inform narratives that are on the same socially conscious level as those of period-era Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp. As for the songs, they crackle, waltz, shuffle, dance, tremble, and kick. The band almost dares listeners not to care.
Whether leaning into twangy two-step country-rock ("One Night In America"), dual-guitar shootout rockabilly ("Shakin' Shakin' Shakes"), swinging jump R&B ("Is This All There Is?"), tequila-spiked East Los Angeles-style rock ("Set Me Free (Rosa Lee)"), searing Latin-tinged blues ("My Baby's Gone"), or poignant gospel-lined folk ("River of Fools"), Los Lobos' Tex-Mex gumbo continually impresses and delights.
Don't pass up one of the best releases of the 1980s and one of Los Lobos' definitive statements. You'll never hear a better pressing. Boleros, rancheros, and more await!

Fuck Off Get Free We Pour Light On Everything
Marks The 15th Anniversary Of The Band, Founded And Led By Efrim Menuck Of Godspeed You! Black Emperor
First New SMZ Full Length Since GYBE's Return To Action In 2011
Recorded In Quebec By Greg Norman (electrical Audio)
Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra (SMZ) has traced a barbed-wire arc of
genre-defying protest music since its inception in 1999. Formed by Efrim Menuck, with
Thierry Amar and Sophie Trudeau, the initial iteration of the band was a predominantly
instrumental trio that forged a more intimate and ragged chamber-punk than Godspeed
You! Black Emperor, in which group all three founding SMZ members also played (and
continue to play). Through seven albums from 2000-2010, SMZ expanded its line-up and
shifted towards an increasing use of lead and group vocals, with Menuck penning politically charged lyrics to anchor long-form multi-movement compositions that juxtaposed electrified
guitars against a 4-piece string section of violins, cello and contrabass.
Most recently, SMZ has pared back to five players, with Menuck's massive spectrum spanning electric guitar sound emerging as the spine around which two violins, bass (now
more often electric than acoustic) and drums are deployed. SMZ have managed a handful
of short tours in the past couple of years (in the gaps between GYBE commitments) and
as anyone who has seen the band in its recent incarnation can attest, their current sound
is more honed, laser-guided and bone-rattling than ever, melding hardcore, blues, garage
and dark metal influences that have nothing to do with anything so quaint as "post-rock"
(a tag the group has always and rightly rejected).
Fuck Off Get Free We Pour Light On Everything is the first definitive document of
the band's newfound sound and style as a quintet. It's also their first single LP-length
work since the band's debut record as a trio almost 15 years ago, and features road tested pummeling rock-outs "Fuck Off Get Free (For The Island Of MontrÉal)", "Take
Away These Early Grave Blues" and "What We Loved Was Not Enough" alongside the
previously unheard lullabyes/minuets "Little Ones Run" and "Rains Thru The Roof At Thee
Grande Ballroom (For Capital Steeze)" and the album centerpiece "Austerity Blues" with
its closing lyric "Lord let my son live long enough to see that mountain torn down"
sung in varying incarnations throughout the second half of this 14-minute epic.
This lyric in many ways encapsulates Menuck's unflinching take on a world replete with
shabbiness, greed and injustice, seen through the lens of parenthood, mortality, endurance
and defiance. There are few other musicians who deliver social critique with the courage
and honesty of lines like "All our cities gonna burn / All our bridges gonna snap / All our
pennies gonna rot / Lightning roll across our tracks / All our children gonna die". Feel-good
music this is not; but neither can it reductively be tagged apocalyptic or world-weary.

URPD-WAR-8245xThe White Stripes
Under Great White Northern LightsIn the summer of 2007, shortly after the release of their 6th album Icky Thump, The White Stripes headed north of their hometown of Detroit to embark on an ambitious journey across Canada. The plan was to play a show in every province and territory in Canada, from B.C. to Newfoundland to Nunavut. Having never done a tour of Canada, Meg and I thought it was high time to go whole hog, from the ocean to the permafrost explains Jack White. We wanted to play out of the way towns that don't usually get shows, the shows are better, it's better for the people, it's a better experience, it's way more unique, something interesting is going to happen, hopefully.
White called upon filmmaker Emmett Malloy to come and document this trek for the band. Malloy had directed videos for the band in the past, and seemed eager to hit the road with them. Equipped with a couple of 16mm cameras, and a few other documenting devices, the band and crew all headed north. The end result was Under Great White Northern Lights.
Under Great White Northern Lights is a visual and emotional feature length film documenting The White Stripes making their way through Canada and culminating with their 10th Anniversary show in Nova Scotia. The film documents the band playing shows all over Canada; from local bowling alleys, to city buses, and onward to the legendary Savoy Theater for the 10th Anniversary show. A show that turned out to be the longest show the band had ever done on stage together.
The film captures intimate moments of Jack and Meg both on and off stage as they travel through some of the most remote parts of the northern Yukon Territory. Along the way, they have some nice casual conversations about their ten years together, fire cannons, play some of their biggest songs together on stage, and even play a one note show. The cameras were there to capture every waking moment.
What Northern Lights does best is document one of the biggest bands in the world, playing to local crowds in small towns. Some of these towns were so small that many of the locals had no idea who The White Stripes were, they just knew something big was going on in their town. This forced a band that had been together for a decade to go back to a place reminiscent of the first shows they ever played together. For the first time in a long time, no one knew who they were and they had to make a first impression with their music.
The live footage captured in this film shows that Jack and Meg were clearly ready for this. Beyond the live footage, some of the films most memorable moments happen off-stage, offering an insightful look into the very private and complex world that is The White Stripes. It was shortly after this tour that The White Stripes cancelled their fall tour of the U.S., making the ten year anniversary a truly pivotal milestone for this legendary band.

No One Cares (On Sale)Mastered from the Original Master Tapes
Sometimes it's okay to judge a book by its cover. Depicting a down-and-out Frank Sinatra entrenched in his own private world while glamorous couples dance and swirl around him, oblivious to his presence and condition, the artwork to the aptly titled No One Cares testifies on behalf of the music and moods within the record's grooves. One of the crooner's top-flight ballads efforts, the 1959 Capitol effort again finds him pairing with sympathetic arranger Gordon Jenkins and inhabiting each note of every song.
Hear the fruits of this timeless collaboration in fresh light on Mobile Fidelity's numbered, limited edition 180 gram LP. Mastered from the original master tapes, this newly minted version of No One Cares caresses the senses via its profound instrumental depth, widescreen soundstage, front-to-back perspective, transparent high-frequency responses, and dynamic midrange. Neither too close-up nor too distant, Sinatra's voice is rendered with realistic scale and gorgeous balance to the extent that nothing is artificially sweetened or heightened. Akin to Mobile Fidelity's previous Sinatra reissues, this LP is meticulously rendered to the highest-possible standards, ensuring that the fidelity is in line with the timeless performances and the iconic singer's exacting standards.
Often viewed as the sister album to 1957's Where Are You?, this third pairing of Sinatra and Jenkins yields slower tempos, more deliberate textures, and lonelier emotions. A profound sense of tragedy burrows into both the luscious strings and Sinatra's timbre, laced with ache, wanderlust, and dismay. Jokingly referred to by Ol' Blue Eyes as one of his "suicide albums," it instead harnesses the wrenching agony, painful solitude, and desolate helplessness that accompany romantic loss and failure of fulfillment. They're universal sentiments, and sensations Sinatra convincingly conveys, envisioning himself as the protagonist in each of the songs.
Rich and fully developed, the arrangements consistently trace Sinatra's footsteps rather than ever overwhelming or competing with him. Instrumental flourishes accent the Voice's own swells and silences, while a classically stated elegance and plaintive devices contribute to an underlying subtlety. Rare has a singer achieved frank introspection and reflective intimacy in such hurtful, believable fashion. Sinatra's voice comes on without a hiccup, his phenomenal baritone and breath control epitomizing ageless singing. You don't want to be without this one.

Just One Of Those ThingsContrasting downbeat ballads with an ironic brassy, upbeat big-band attitude, the brilliant and expressive work of vocalist Nat King Cole and arranger Billy May on display here is one for the ages. 1957's Just One Of Those Things is a classic collection that perfectly captures the inherent experience of love and disillusionment. On par with Frank Sinatra's period albums, the set swings effortlessly and lightly, as Cole brings a fine, unhurried touch to uptempo standards and jazz-based pop material. Featuring top shelf interpretations of These Foolish Things, Who's Sorry Now? The Party's Over and more, this album is among its era's finest recordings of popular music, replete with a quality, style and spirit that remain touchstones for any vocal pop outing.1. In And Out Of Youth And LightnessFormed in 2006, Young Widows originally drew favorable comparisons to the '90s heyday of cacophonous noise-rock. Five years and three albums later, In and Out of Youth and Lightness finds the band digging much deeper and further back for inspiration. With their sprawling post-punk blasts shining cracks of lights through pitch black neo-noir fever dreams, Young Widows have clearly become a more sinister and thought-provoking beast.
In And Out Of Youth and Lightness was produced by the band and Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket) at The Funeral Home in their hometown of Louisville, KY. The musical palette remains fundamentally the same; singer/guitarist Evan Patterson's cavernous, warped blues riffs weighted by Nick Thieneman's earth-shaking bass and drummer Jeremy McMonigle's sturdy, shifting rhythms, but the augmented instrumentation and choral vocals lifts them to incredible new heights. With lyrical themes of emotional despair and domestic dissolution leading to inevitable catharsis, In And Out Of Youth and Lightness finds Patterson rising from his personal hell with a level of wisdom and maturity that most aggressive bands will never know.
With a depth and ambition well beyond their years, Young Widows have stepped out of the shadows of their influences to become one of America's more interesting and spirited underground rock bands.1. Young Rivers

No One Dances Quite Like My BrothersVår is the project of four best friends from Copenhagen. Each member of
the band is involved in several other Danish bands and all four members
are also accomplished visual artists. What began as the extremely lo-fi
two-piece of Elias Rønnenfelt and Loke Rahbek recording on 4-track has
evolved into an experimental noise/ industrial/ techno pop quartet. On
this album Vår utilize everything from acoustic guitar, power electronics,
bass, trumpet, multi-tracked vocals, and various percussive instruments, to
broken glass & sheet metal samples. No One Dances Quite Like My Brothers
is a remarkable debut, an emotional roller coaster of sorts which at times
is profoundly uplifting, at times decidedly morose but remains unfailingly moving throughout.
Holing up in the extremely cramped and oft over-heated quarters of Sean
Ragon's self-built studio in the back of his Bushwick record store Heaven
Street, the band wrote and recorded their first full length during two
intense weeks last summer. Exploring themes of love, loss, vanity, hope,
fear, sexuality and friendship and drawing more on literary influences
than musical ones (Bataille and Shaffer, specifically), the band craft an
album which cannot be confined by any singular sub-genre. Words like
"industrial" and "electronic" fall short here; they barely begin to scratch
the surface of this work. This is soundtrack music for a play that has only
begun to be imagined and is light years away from being consummated1. Begin to Remember

First Time Limited Edition 2 LP 180 Gram Vinyl Presentation
Exclusive Only To This LP Release: First Time Sitting Photos Of The Dead By The Legendary Herb Greene
Impeccably Mastered By Joe Reagoso At Friday Music Studios And Capitol Records, Hollywood, CA With Ron Mcmaster
The legendary Bay area rock superstars the Grateful Dead scored for over four decades a plethora of wonderful recordings
throughout their incredible career. Spearheaded originally by the late great Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kruetzmann and the late
Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, these five gentlemen set the world on fire with their magnificent artistry and musicianship which is unparaleled to this day.
With their very first San Francisco gigs and studio recordings when they were locally known as The Warlocks, the historical importance of these debut sessions would soon become a blueprint for the music world as the Grateful Dead would become one of the band's
and biggest concert attractions of all time.
Over a decade ago, the Grateful Dead unearthed 17 super rare studio recordings from 1965 through 1967. Aside from an ultra rare
45 on Scorpio Records and a collaborative effort with Jon Hendricks on Verve Records, none of these recordings were ever released.
Ranging from the very first sessions at Autumn Records (Beau Brummels, Sly Stone) and then the Scorpio Records sides, these tracks
simply became manna for the fans and were truly a find for any collector of fine rock and roll and early psych and garage rock fare.
Gordon Lightfoot's Early Morning Rain kicks off the collection, and then the fireworks light up as future Dead classics like I Know
You Rider, Don't Ease Me In and Cold Rain and Snow truly become a very important and interesting listen to any fan of the Dead or
classic rock in general.
Known for their jams in concert and in the studio setting, you will get to hear stellar takes on rare tracks like Tastebud, The Only
Time Is Now, and of course the super rare Jon Hendricks (Lambert, Hendricks & Ross) protest rocker Fire in the City.
These amazing Dead recordings have never been released on the vinyl format that is until now

Ones and SixesOnes and Sixes is the new album from the Duluth-based trio of Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker and Steve Garrington, collectively known as Low. Ones and Sixes was co-produced by Low and BJ Burton at Justin Vernon's April Base Studios in Eau Claire, WI. "In our 20+ years of writing songs, I've learned that no matter how escapist, divergent, or even transcendent the creative process feels, the result is more beholden to what is going on at the moment. It's hard to admit that one is so influenced by what is in front of us. Doesn't it come from something magical and far away? No, it comes from here. It comes from now. I'm not going to tell you what this record is about because I have too much respect for that moment when you come to know it for yourself." - Alan Sparhawk, Low I spent much of 2002 in Germany, studying literature, collecting new experiences and attempting to process the existential crises so typical of your early 20s. Low - especially their album Things We Lost in the Fire, which I listened to for countless hours - was one of the few bands who helped me along with this. Their slow-growing, minimal, yet expansive songs just beg for introspection. Demand it, even. They cultivate a sense of grandeur and inquiry with their melancholic tone, which, if you're anything like me, sets you right down in front of the mirror for some much-neglected self-assessment. Is Low somehow The Velvet Undergound's song "I'll Be Your Mirror" transubstantiated into band form? As Alan said above, the meanings of the songs are transitory. Even if there was a specific impetus, nothing needs explaining beyond what the song itself reveals. It's an exercise on Low's end and, when the music is released, it becomes one for us. Ones and Sixes takes everything Low excels at and dips it in a heavy gold plating of industrial-leaning electronics. This catapults to new and extreme heights the innate beauty their music has always had. It's a series of contrasts: stunning and menacing, gorgeous and frightening, giving and desperate, and, ultimately, unbearably heavy and unbearably light. From one to six and back again. -Dee Dee Penny (Dum Dum Girls), NYC, June 20151. Gentle

Hank Williams: I Saw the Light: The Unreleased RecordingsAt the peak of his career in 1951, Hank Williams recorded 143 songs for the Mother's Best Flour Company. Hank performed with his regular studio band and recorded his hits as well as songs he never recorded commercially anywhere else. From this amazing legacy, Time Life is proud to release the vinyl version of HANK WILLIAMS: I SAW THE LIGHT: THE UNRELEASED RECORDINGS, a historic collection drawn from the very best of the Mother's Best recordings. It's a rare, informal glimpse into the heart and soul of country music's greatest star who passed away on New Year's Day 1953, at age 29.
These recordings give us a deeper insight into Hank's life and music, showing a personality that had never been revealed previously. In this casual setting, it showcases his humor as he jokes with his band and the emcee, his love of music as he talks unguardedly about his favorite songs, and captures him in his prime. These shows are the first truly three-dimensional portrait of one of the giants of American music. What emerges is a full, rounded portrait of Williams at his creative and commercial peak.
