In addition to 'Drag Me Down', the band revealed a second track from the album. The song, 'Infinity', is an epic and rousing slice of guitar pop written by John Ryan, Jamie Scott and Julian Bunetta, the team behind One Direction's massive hit 'Story Of My Life'.

Continuing to showcase a more mature sound for the band, 'Infinity' provides a taste of what to expect from the upcoming album.

    Four

British pop superstars One Direction released their eagerly anticipated fourth studio album, FOUR, in November of 2014.. FOUR is the follow-up to their third album MIDNIGHT MEMORIES, the world's bestselling album of 2013.

With a staggering 94 number ones and over 46 million records sold, in just four short years, One Direction have gone from energetic pop upstarts to international superstars. The band's third album MIDNIGHT MEMORIES made them the first band in history to debut at the top of the US Billboard 200 album chart with their first three albums and were named the IFPI's Global Artist of 2013, becoming the biggest selling act in the world.

As the band's song writing becomes more personal with each record, FOUR is set to be their most stunning yet. The album follows the global success of their huge sell out WHERE WE ARE stadium tour and the 3D film documentary THIS IS US. Add all this to their 3 billion YouTube views, 109 million combined Twitter followers and 33 million Facebook fans and it's clear that Liam, Harry, Louis, Niall and Zayn genuinely are a worldwide phenomenon.

The Beatles' Original Mono Studio Album Remastered At Abbey Road Directly From The Analogue Masters For Vinyl Release By Sean Magee and Steve Berkowitz

Lacquers Cut Using Neumann VMS-80 Lathe

Ranked 10/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Manufactured For The World At Optimal Media In Germany, The Beatles' Albums Are Presented In Their Original Glory, Both Sonically And In Their Packaging.

The Beatles in mono: This is how most listeners first heard the group in the 1960s, when mono was the predominant audio format. Up until 1968, each Beatles album was given a unique mono and stereo mix, but the group always regarded the mono as primary. THE BEATLES is released in mono on two 180-gram vinyl LPs with faithfully replicated artwork, newly mastered from the analogue master tapes.

In an audiophile-minded undertaking, The Beatles' acclaimed mono albums have been newly mastered for vinyl from quarter-inch master tapes at Abbey Road Studios by GRAMMY®-winning engineer Sean Magee and GRAMMY®-winning mastering supervisor Steve Berkowitz. While THE BEATLES IN MONO CD boxed set released in 2009 was created from digital remasters, for this new vinyl project, Magee and Berkowitz cut the records without using any digital technology. Instead, they employed the same procedures used in the 1960s, guided by the original albums and by detailed transfer notes made by the original cutting engineers.

Working in the same room at Abbey Road where most of The Beatles' albums were initially cut, the pair first dedicated weeks to concentrated listening, fastidiously comparing the master tapes with first pressings of the mono records made in the 1960s. Using a rigorously tested Studer A80 machine to play back the precious tapes, the new vinyl was cut on a 1980s-era VMS80 lathe.

Via Michael Fremer (Analog Planet) on the mastering process:

The EQ applied was based upon the original cutting engineers' notes as well as careful listening to original first lacquer, first mother, first stamper EMI pressings (-1, 1, G matrix). The cartridge used was Ortofon's 2M Black.

It's important to remember that the tapes have aged-some as much as fifty years-and the monitoring, playback and mastering equipment have changed as well, even though the work was done in the very same room in which the originals were mastered. Solid state has replaced tubes in the cutting chain.

Lacquers were cut using Abbey Road Studios' Neumann VMS-80 lathe, equipped with a Neumann SX-74 cutter head. The originals were cut on a Scully lathe, perhaps with a Westrex cutter head.

No Direction Home (200 Gram) (On Sale)

The seventh volume of Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series doubles as the soundtrack to No Direction Home, Martin Scorseses's feature-length documentary covering Dylan's career from its beginnings to 1966 (it was aired in two parts on PBS in September 2005 and released in expanded form on DVD that same month). Unlike the previous three installments of The Bootleg Series, which focused exclusively on live concerts, No Direction Home is assembled from a variety of sources, including home recordings, publishing demos, alternate studio takes, and live recordings, with the first disc devoted to early acoustic recordings and the second to electric music. In fact, No Direction Home proceeds chronologically, filling in gaps between the proper albums or, more often, providing a parallel history of the most productive era of Dylan's career. All of this material -- with the exception of Song to Woody, taken from his debut, and a cataclysmic version of Like a Rolling Stone taken from the Royal Albert Hall show that was released as Bob Dylan Live '66 -- is previously unreleased, and much of it has not been widely bootlegged (and the cuts that have been bootlegged, such as Dink's Song, have never been heard in such crystal-clear fidelity). Where the inaugural edition of The Bootleg Series had many previously unreleased Dylan originals, there is only one here, the tentative opener, When I Got Troubles, a sweet, simple 1959 song that finds Dylanin his formative stage. In place of unheard songs are a slew of alternate versions of familiar tunes. On the first two LP's, these are largely live versions of such warhorses as Blowin' in the Wind, Masters of War, and A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall, recorded when the songs were still fresh. These live performances have an immediacy and intimacy that not only illustrate what a powerful folksinger Dylan was, but also suggest how the songs might have sounded when they were new tunes. Toward the end of the second LP, alternate versions that are significantly different from the final versions begin to surface with an early take on Mr. Tambourine Man recorded at the Another Side of Bob Dylan sessions with Ramblin' Jack Elliott on second guitar and backing vocals. The third and fourth LP's contain several alternates that are similarly notably different, highlighted by a lively, careening It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry with a different final verse, a Desolation Row with electric guitar, Highway 61 Revisited without the siren whistle, a slower, heavier, blusier take on Leopard-Skin Pill Box Hat, a relaxed version of Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again that lacks the carnivalesque swirl of sound from the Blonde on Blonde version, and a lean, insistent Visions of Johanna.

Everything here is uniformly excellent and worth hearing well more than once. That alone, of course, would make this yet another worthwhile addition to any serious Dylan collection, but what makes No Direction Home noteworthy as an album is that it is the first Dylan record to offer an aural biography of Dylan. This does a superb job of tracing the development of Dylan as a musician, taking him from a young folkie singing standards, through the rush of his early standards, and to the visionary music he made once he went electric. Put in this context, the electric music on the third and fourth LP's sounds as bracing and brilliant and surprising as it did in the '60s, while the acoustic folk on LP's one and two sounds vibrant, pure, and alive. After all these years, that's a hard accomplishment to pull off, and to the credit of everybody involved in this terrific release, they've been able to make even the most familiar Dylan tunes feel new again.

As usual, this deluxe edition comes from the original mix down masters and was transferred by Bernie Grundman to lacquer on on Classic's all tube analog cutting system. This deluxe 4-LP set includes two alternate cover art gatefold jackets (Blonde on Blonde and Bringing it all Back Home), a 60+ page 12 x12 booklet all housed in an a special outer box.

Jazz Winds From A New Direction (Speakers Corner)

Hank Garland wasn't the first Country and Western guitarist to discover jazz as a new way of playing. Mundell Lowe (who knows him these days?) and Tal Farlow (whose Verve recordings have long become classics) are just two such musicians who are better known to jazz fans.

Garland's shining example Charlie Christian was his inspiration when he was invited to participate in a super session, and the LP Jazz Winds From A New Direction became a smash hit. With Joe Morello, the drummer responsible for the tricky, odd meter and Joe Benjamin, who had been instructed by Gerry Mulligan and performs harmonic magic even without a piano, and then Gary Burton, a newcomer (only 17 years old and completely unknown at the time!) on the vibraphone, these six numbers are a real phenomenon with regard to musicality, style and recording technique.

Unfortunately it was to remain a unique jazz session, for Hank Garland could never aspire to such heights again after his tragic car accident. That's why jazz fans should snap at the chance to grab this newly mastered LP: it enriched the musical horizon of the musicians during the recording, and is guaranteed to bewitch the listener of today.

    Musicians:

    • Hank Garland (guitar)

    • Gary Burton (vibraphone)

    • Joe Benjamin (bass)

    • Joe Morello (drums)

    Recording: 1961

    About Speakers Corner

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Speakers Corner all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existant tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasise that Speakers Corner Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle. We have one digital recording in our catalogue (Alan Parsons / Eye In The Sky"), but even in this particular case we used the analogue tapes for cutting.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects - excluding the exception above - and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

    Flies In All Directions

Flipping through the pages of Weatherbox, A History, one encounters some sordid tales: strained friendships, hairs grayed,
vans stolen and flipped, a good old-fashioned cowboy-stomping and of course, drug-induced psychosis. However, since
the release of their seminal American Art in 2007, Weatherbox ignored every warning sign the cosmos hurled in their
direction and released batch after batch of unique and personal songs via two LP's, one EP, two singles and too many
compilation tracks to count. They have toured tens of thousands of U.S. highway miles with their friends in Say Anything,
Bad Books, The Front Bottoms and many others. Now freshly signed to Triple Crown Records/Favorite Gentleman,

    Ready Take One

Erroll Garner was one of the great American Jazz pianists of the 20th century, yet very few know his name or his music. Ready Take One is the first completely new Garner studio album in nearly 25 years.

As never before, listeners are treated to a rare peek behind the studio doors, with revealing conversation between Garner, his quartet, and longtime manager/producer Martha Glaser included between many of the songs. As pianist/producer Geri Allen writes, a kind of fifth member of the band, Glaser would support Erroll Garner in the moment of the creative act, as evidenced by the title of the album, a direct reference to Glaser's steady refrain of, Ready, take one.

Ready Take One features six never before released original Garner compositions, including the infectious Wild Music and beautiful ballad, Back To You. Recorded during a prolific five-year period beginning in 1967, all 14 songs on Ready Take One are previously unreleased, having only recently been discovered after nearly 50 years.

    Suddenly One Summer

In 1968, 15 year old guitarist/singer Jay Kaye trekked from Las Vegas to Vancouver, British Columbia. There, with a topnotch team of session musicians, he recorded Suddenly One Summer, a dark masterpiece of orchestral psychedelia, intended to musically represent the life and death of a man. This first-ever legitimate reissue of this ultra rare album is 180 gram vinyl, direct from the analog master tapes, and features interviews with Jay Kaye and key members of his Company.

    The Divine One (Pure Pleasure)

Recorded just after Sarah Vaughan joined the Roulette label in 1960, The Divine One found her in exactly the right circumstances to suit her excellent talents. Arranged by Jimmy Jones, who also sits in on piano, the setting was a small group that included one strong voice to accentuate hers -- and no less a strong and clear voice than trumpeter Harry Sweets Edison (the perfect accompaniment for Vaughan). The Divine One is mostly a ballads collection, and it includes a few songs that were new to her repertoire -- good choices like Have You Met Miss Jones? (aka Old Jones), When Your Lover Has Gone, Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams, and Jump for Joy. One great left-field choice is Ain't No Use, the R&B song taken as a slow torch song that Big Maybelle had first recorded (Nina Simone didn't record it until several years later). Roulette would soon push Vaughan in many different directions -- releasing over a dozen LPs in just a few short years -- but this small-group date is a gem.

    Recording: October 1960

    Production: Jimmy Jones

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

In their decade-plus existence, Saturday Looks Good To Me has never taken a typical path: endless line-up changes, shifts in sound from lo-fi 60's pop to experimental noise rock, a twisting discography heavy on one-off singles and bizarre package tours with afrobeat and freakfolk bands.

In 2012, bandleader and songwriter Fred Thomas returned with a fresh new line-up, including new vocalists Carol Catherine and Amber Fellows, but also with old friends from previous SLGTM incarnations like bassist Scott DeRoche and drummer Ryan Howard showing up for the fun.

The band's fifth proper album, One Kiss Ends It All, came together following the group's first tour after getting back in action, however the four years since their last full-length weren't spent cultivating this new batch of songs.

Instead, a spontaneous and breezy vibe flows through the album's 12 selections, drawing on the reference points of 60's pop and early indie rock, all filtered through the band's skewed pop lens.

Thomas' songs are always bittersweet, but short, uptempo rockers like Invisible Friend and Break In recall the open-hearted running melodicism of New Zealand kiwi-pop while more groove-oriented numbers like Polar Bear or Sunglasses meld electronic elements with the same sharp-edged attitude of the first Strokes album.

Even former SLGTM lead vocalist Betty Barnes (who now lives in Sweden) sings lead on two tracks: the doo-wop piano lament of Negative Space and the spare indie rock road trip The Ever-present New Times Condition.

Saturday Looks Good To Me's albums in the early 2000's (All Your Summer Songs, Every Night) predicted the reverb-saturated production and girl-group revisitations that indie rock would embrace several years down the road.

One Kiss Ends It All expands on those early lo-fi marvels and feels more like a revelation than a continuance.

With more sophisticated arrangements and melodies more direct and engaging than anything the band has ever done, the album feels like re-telling the details of a dream minutes after waking. Something new colliding with something that shouldn't make sense in a beautifully strange collage. And always more details hidden in the corners.

Time Is Over One Day Old

Bear In Heaven's new album is aptly titled Time is Over One Day Old. It's a record with a visceral
relationship to time and its processes.Where invulnerability and ambition can support you as you grow,
at some point they become dead weight, and being true to yourself means casting them off, starting anew.
This plays out as a powerful analogy for the band across the arc of it's career.

They've always made intriguing records, here especially. It's easy to see why musicians fall hard for this
band. They entice and envelop you. Any Bear In Heaven song will most likely greet you with a provocative
beat, textural synthesizers and unassuming but adeptly supportive bass and guitar, all exquisitely
arranged and glistening.Jon Philpot's high, smooth, strong voice is so tightly wound into the music that
it can be easy to overlook the lyrics, Bear In Heaven's capacious third dimension. Philpot is a center-seeking, contemplative writer who captures the fleeting thoughts that underscore our emotional lives, the
interactions with the world that are both difficult to express and anathema in daily conversation.

While all of this can be said of any Bear In Heaven album, each varies wildly in tone and approach. 2007's
Red Bloom of the Boom is ambitious and experimental. Beast Rest Forth Mouth(2009)was a pivotal record
that still feels important, seductive and intense. On their 2012 LP I Love You, It's Cool the structural and
musical ideas are challenging, and masterfully developed. For Time is Over One Day Old,we witness the
band once again turning their gaze inward and prioritizing their evocative abilities in line with or even
slightly ahead of technical skills. It feels very much in the tradition of BRFM in that way. It's beautiful; it's
    moving.

Here Philpot and Adam Wills are more deeply collaborative than ever. This album is darker at times,
louder than their others; it feels personal and direct."If I Were To Lie"places Wills' bass groove front and
center,"Demon" is riveting and propulsive in spite of its dark pointed lyric, and"They Dream"dissolves
into three and a half minutes of deeply satisfying ambient synth work in its second half.Wills has always
been the bands anchor, providing rock solid, rhythmic bass lines and guitars that blur the boundaries of
Philpot's synth. Though in moments such as the final track, "You Don't Need The World," Wills cuts
through with an audacious, biting guitar hook. It's a great culmination of the album's sense of release.
This album isn't about being dark, it's about releasing darkness and frustration.

When bands age well, their vitality takes shape. They wear, but with intention. They trim excesses.
Throughout this album you'll hear a band at peace with themselves. They've learned to cut back on that
which is merely impressive and to concentrate on simply what is crucial. For Philpot this is about making
something lasting. "A lot of shedding, getting rid of layers and preconceptions breaking up with old
ways of thinking, old ways of being, starting to look at this thing in a new way and finding something
positive."The result is a record that will stay with you.

Music Composed and Conducted by Hugo Friedhofer

From the moment of their inception, some films are simply destined to become legendary in one way or another and Marlon Brando s sole directorial effort had legend stamped on it from the get-go. Based on the book The Authentic Death of Hendry Jones by Charles Neider, the film s first script was written by a young up-and-coming writer named Sam Peckinpah. It was subsequently re-written by Calder Willingham and then Guy Trosper. After viewing a movie called The Killing, Brando hired its director, Stanley Kubrick. By the time the film went before the cameras, Kubrick was gone and Brando was not only starring, but also directing. While the end result might not be to everyone s liking, the fact is that the finished film is oddly compelling, poetic, and sometimes completely bizarre, and fully deserving of its legendary cult status.

The film looks gorgeous it was the final film made in Paramount s brilliant process, VistaVision, and the great Charles Lang was the director of photography. The cast also included Karl Malden, Katy Jurado, Ben Johnson, Slim Pickens, and the supremely weird Timothy Carey. There are some truly great scenes and some eminently quotable dialogue ( Get up off the floor, you scum-sucking pig ). But what gives the film a great deal of its luster and brilliance is the score by Hugo Friedhofer.

How did a Wisconsin chair company, producing records on the cheap and run by men with little knowledge of their audience or the music business, build one of the greatest musical rosters ever assembled under one roof? The answer lies in 'The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records 1917-1932,' an epic, two-volume omnibus of art, words and music housed in a limited-edition, hand-sculpted cabinet-of-wonder, to be jointly released by Jack White's Third Man Records and John Fahey's Revenant Records.

'Volume One,' which covers the label's improbable rise from 1917-1927, will be released exclusively through Third Man on October 29, and worldwide on November 19. The project is co-produced by leading Paramount authority Alex van der Tuuk, and 'Volume 2' will be released in November 2014.

Paramount Records was founded on a modest proposition: produce records as cheaply as possible, recording whatever talent was available. Over its lifetime, the label would become a "race records" powerhouse, its sound and fortunes directly linked to the Great Migration.

By the time Paramount ceased operations in 1932, it had compiled a dizzying array of performers still unrivaled to this day, spanning early jazz titans (Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller), blues masters (Charley Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Son House, Skip James), American divas (Ma Rainey, Alberta Hunter, Ethel Waters), gospel (Norfolk Jubilee Quartette), vaudeville (Papa Charlie Jackson), and the indefinable "other" (Geeshie Wiley, Elvie Thomas). Paramount would also directly influence the style of Robert Crumb and countless other 20th century artists and illustrators, through a series of hand-drawn ads promoting its releases in the pages of the Chicago Defender.

The 'Rise and Fall' wonder-cabinet gives equal status to page-turning narrative and new scholarship; original and newly created graphic art; industrial design; and compelling analog and digital music experiences.

6 LPs feature 87 tracks from the collection.

USB Drive contains 800 digital tracks by 172 artists across the Paramount family of labels, including the earliest recordings of:
King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Blind Blake, Fats Waller, Ma Rainey, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Fletcher Henderson, Alberta Hunter, Papa Charlie Jackson, Ethel Waters, Coleman Hawkins, Johnny and Baby Dodds, Bo Weavil Jackson, Jimmy O'Bryant, Buddy Boy Hawkins, Tiny Parham, Jimmy Blythe, and Jaybird Coleman.

Born and raised in Ashland, Mississippi, guitarist Joe Beard was surrounded by aspiring and veteran blues musicians. Matt Guitar Murphy and his brother Floyd were Beards childhood buddies and the ones who initially got him started on guitar.

Beard moved to Rochester, New York in the mid-1950s and from time to time would visit one of his brothers in Chicago. He became enamored with the blues being played there and eventually sat in, both with John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters.

In Rochester, he formed the Soul Brothers Six, playing bass and singing. He wouldnt perform in public on guitar until 1965. For most of the 1960s on through the 80s, Beard worked as an electrician by day and would occasionally play out at night and on weekends. He long ago gained a reputation as one of the best local players around Rochester and has sporadically been counted as one of the best nationally.

In the 90s, Beard began recording with the Audioquest label, and those two releases have won major acclaim within the blues and audiophile communities.

Bill Watermelon Slim Homans is nothing if not a renaissance man. He attended Middlebury College in Vermont on a fencing scholarship but dropped out to enlist in the Army for the Vietnam War. While laid up in a Vietnam hospital bed, he taught himself upside-down, left-handed slide guitar. He worked as a truck driver, a forklift operator, a saw mill hand, a funeral officiator and at times as a small-time criminal. Due to the latter vocation, he fled Boston to lay low in Oklahoma where he farmed watermelons, hence his stage name. Hes earned two undergrad degrees along with a master's. He painted art and briefly joined Mensa. Oh, and he likes to read Shakespeare and bowls a steady 240.

No surprise then that he draws from a plenty diverse range of influences to form his unique brand of raw and honest blues. Its music as interesting as the man.
