Peace Trail (On Sale)Neil Young matches the fire in his belly to the poetry from his pen for one of the most gripping outings of his long career. This riveting collection, a spare acoustic-electric hybrid, seethes with righteous indignation over a plethora of social and political injustices, but also soothes with deeply felt empathy for those on the receiving end of iniquity. - Randy Lewis / Los Angeles Times
Peace Trail features all new songs that Young wrote since the release of his album EARTH, this past June. This new album is primarily acoustic and reflects an intimate, sparse approach to each of the ten songs within:
Peace Trail was recorded at Rick Rubin's Shangri-la Studios and features Young on vocals and guitar, Jim Keltner on drums, and Paul Bushnell on bass. It was produced by Young and John Hanlon, mixed by John Hanlon.1. Peace Trail

Lacquers Cut By Bob Weston At Chicago Mastering Service
David Feldstein is a Chicago-born recording artist currently based in Atlanta. He came into adulthood during the burgeoning 1990's Chicago music scene. For over twenty years, David has sought to record and release an album of music that represents the sounds which surrounded him during this period. Also influenced by artists like Stereolab, My Bloody Valentine and legendary recording artist Neil Young, David brings together many different aspects of instrumentation. Surrender The Silence is David making his mark on the world. This debut album is an effort filled with swirling guitars, some overdriven with distortion and some with a folksy twist. Thoughtfully complimenting each other in a genre which might be best described as Folk-tronica. These riffs and tones have been swirling around in his mind for over 20 years and finally are available for you to own and enjoy. Pretenders (On Sale)Pretenders One of the Most Essential Debuts Ever Released: No-Nonsense 1980 Set Ranked 155th Greatest Album of All Time by Rolling Stone
Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Added Extension, Sharper Imaging, Multi-Dimensional Soundstaging on MoFi 180g LP Place Pretenders on a Small Stage in Your Room
Pretenders' Self-Titled Record Moves Fast With Biting Hooks, Soulful Melodies, and Guitar-Charged Toughness: Includes Brass In Pocket, Precious, and Tattooed Love Boys
The milieu the Pretenders create on their groundbreaking debut didn't exist when the album came out in early 1980. Such is the magnitude of originality, creativity, and nerve the band captured on a record that captivated each side of the Atlantic and both upended and advanced tradition. The no-nonsense set also announced the arrival of the inimitable Chrissie Hynde, one of the greatest singer-songwriters in rock history, gender be damned. Equally significant, the album remains just one of two studio efforts featuring the original members before tragedy ended the lives of guitarist James Honeyman-Scott and bassist Pete Farndon.
Mastered from the original master tapes, Mobile Fidelity's 180g LP of Pretenders grants the influential music newfound clarity, punch, dynamics, and perspective that enhance the realism and attack of everything from Hynde's vocal snarl to the band's myriad textures. Originally recorded live in the studio at high volume levels by producer Chris Thomas, the record on this vinyl edition boasts added extension, sharper imaging, multi-dimensional soundstaging, and a crispness that practically places the Pretenders onstage in your room. Replete with detail and nuance-particularly, Hynde's singing and Honeyman-Scott's terrific array of hovering chords, colorful palettes, and inventive effects-this is a record that rewards repeat listening and full-bloom playback.
Cited by Rolling Stone as the 155th Greatest Album of All Time, Pretenders took shape via the vision of the Ohio-born Hynde and chemistry she achieved with three Brits circling the same punk orbit-one that saw the frontwoman work with the Sex Pistols and briefly embark on a serious music-criticism career. Indeed, while Hynde is the unquestionable leader of the gang, the Pretenders are the sum of their total parts, displaying rapport and interaction that never came together more convincingly, naturally, or emotionally as it does on their debut. Honeyman-Scott's ringing arpeggio tones seamlessly combine with Hynde's no-muss sass, sensuality, and soulfulness. Similarly, the rhythm section contributes considerable thump and classically styled explosiveness. Together, the four sound like no other band.
Such distinctiveness helps explain why Pretenders remains as contemporary now as it did 30-odd years ago.Schooled in the era's raw, unfiltered English punk yet equally versed in rockabilly, new-wave pop, and British Invasion rock, the band orchestrates songs that overflow with keen hooks, sexual swagger, and ear-catching melodies. Courtesy of the aggressive guitars and leather-tough cool, Pretendersmoves fast, Hynde's assertive deliveries and take-notice lyrics jolting the senses with a lethal mix of sophistication, toughness, tenderness, rebelliousness, and romance.
With Honeyman-Scott playing the Richards to her Jagger, Hynde operates on pure instinct. She throws down the gauntlet on the corrugated pulse of Precious, proves she can hang with even the roughest boys on the energetic bounce of Tattooed Love Boys, and, on the smash hit Brass In Pocket, spouts self-aggrandizing claims that she would back up for decades to come. Yet Hynde and the Pretenders' appeal goes much deeper than brazenness. Akin to her guitarist's unconventional phasing and treated effects, the singer never abides by rules or stereotypes as she balances the gutsiness and attitude with sensitivity (Lovers of Today), compassion (the jangling Stop Your Stopping), and vulnerability (Kid).
Pretenders is not only one of the most impressive album debuts in history, it's one of the most essential records, independent of genre or timing, ever made. Hear this energetic music in the finest-possible fidelity it's ever enjoyed.

Foreigner (On Sale)Blockbuster 1977 Debut Packed With Anthemic Classic Rock Hits and Heroic Guitar Riffs
Feels Like the First Time: You've Never Heard Foreigner Sound So Immediate, Detailed, Warm, and Dynamic in Analog
System-Testing Sonics: Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Master Tapes
Blissful feelings arise at the mere mention of 70s arena rock. It gives listeners the permission to have fun, sing along to aircraft-hangar-size choruses, play air guitar solos, forget about any troubles, recall the experience of a first kiss, and quite simply, rock out. Few albums better instill these pleasures than Foreigners 1977 self-titled debut album, a five-times platinum blockbuster chock full of salacious riffs, soaring vocals, edgy beats, and lyrics that practically demand to be shouted. And while the record has always boasted clean, immediate production, never before has it exploded with the dynamic intensity and rich transparency now made possible on Mobile Fidelitys dynamic 180g LP. This is what rock n roll dreams are made of.
Spearheaded by guitar hero Mick Jones, fresh off success with Spooky Tooth, Foreigner rallied around a talented collective pulled from the U.S. and U.K. Joining up with former King Crimson instrumentalist Ian McDonald and drummer Dennis Elliott, as well as keyboardist Al Greenwood and bassist Ed Gagliardi, Jones completed the puzzle with the addition of extraordinary singer Lou Gramm, whose vocal timbre and limitless pipes remain one of the most instantly identifiable combinations in music. Before long, two eternal radio classicsFeels Like the First Time and Cold As Ice, composed on a miniature piano and inspired by Hollywood star Joan Crawfordwere in the bag. Eight more tunes, each as solid as those that came before, followed, and Foreigner quickly became an overnight rock sensation.
In contrast to much of the eras angrier fare and crudely produced music, Foreigner stood out by way of its clean, muscular, professional production. Still, Mobile Fidelity believed that underneath the surfaces, an even fresher, bigger-sounding record loomed. Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, MoFis 180g LP presents the sextets roof-raising anthems and scintillating blend of guitars, synths, and Gramms soulful vocals across a wider, deeper soundstage than ever before imagined. Instrumental separation, tonal balance, and imaging are absolutely superb. Better still, the songs come across with an assertive liveliness that adds to their enjoyment, structure, and melodic character. The accessory flutes, saxophones, and synthesizer solos have never sounded so enmeshed within the overall sonic fabric.
Get ready to hear your new favorite 70s rock album and push the limits of your systems dynamics.

Weezer (Green Album) (Awaiting Repress) (On Sale)Weezer (Green Album) on Numbered Limited Edition 180 Gram LP from Mobile Fidelity
Concise, Tightly Played 2001 Power-Pop Album Features Back-to-Basics Approach
Weezer's Fastest-Selling Release Includes "Hash Pipe," "Island in the Sun," "Don't Let Go"
Record Launched One of Most Memorable Return-from-the-Dead Comebacks in History
Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Smooth, Big-Guitar Sound Resonates Like Never Before
Weezer's self-titled third album, collectively known as the Green Album, nearly never came to pass. The band had all but broken apart, with leader Rivers Cuomo choosing to go back to college and the other members dismayed at the initial reception to 1996's Pinkerton. Persuaded at the turn of the century to return to the concert stage, the foursome launched one of the most enduring comeback stories in history, and in the process, penned 75 songs, the choicest of which grace 2001's concise, tightly played Green Album.
Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed on 180 gram LP at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's reissue presents the music with by far the most dynamic range it's ever enjoyed. Cars icon Ric Ocasek's production comes into fuller relief, with guitar notes ringing with front-to-back depth and superb imaging. Cuomo's singing gains focus and clarity, and the rhythms that help give the tunes their incessant catchiness are better defined, with the low end finally present.
That nearly everything on Green Album-from the cover to the producer to sonics-reflects those of Weezer's blockbuster debut isn't merely coincidence. The quartet, not yet realizing that Pinkerton had already become a cult classic (and, soon after, would be hailed as one of the most prized albums of its generation), intentionally pursued a back-to-basics approach that echoed its roots. Unadorned simplicity, skyscraper-sized hooks, and short-but-sweet arrangements are the hallmarks here, each a signpost on how rock albums can work their way into a listener's head and provide limitless satisfaction.
Of course, however crucial, the music is just one component in Weezer's arsenal. Akin to its sibling efforts, Green Album wouldn't be the same devoid of Cuomo's lyrics, which exude charming personality and boyish awkwardness. Absent is the heart-on-a-sleeve obviousness of the fare of Pinkerton. The material here echoes with a related emotional universality whereby romantic yearning, fear of rejection, and getaway fantasies spark with the winking promise of enthusiasm and attainment. There's a reason every passage remains so accessible; playfulness and wryness abound. Power-pop efforts don't come more perfect.

UNIM-VIR-2315xThirty Seconds To Mars
Love Lust Faith + Dreams (On Sale)Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams is the upcoming fourth studio album from American rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars.
The recording sessions for Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams took place from April to December 2012, at the Laboratory in Los Angeles, U.S.A.
In September 2012, The Summit, an event where fans are invited to contribute chorus vocals to tracks on the album and previously held to record choral vocals for This Is War in 2009, was held. Unlike This Is War, where an entire audience-sized crowd took part in the recording, the summit that took place for the recording of Love, Lust Faith and Dreams was more stripped-down and organic, with only 20 to 25 people contributing vocals to the record.
To follow up This Is War, the band began to work on their fourth studio album immediately after the conclusion of the Closer to the Edge Tour. Frontman Jared Leto wanted an album that has ebb and flow and content and structure., a sharp contrast to the band's previous work. Leto began writing for the album in December 2011, and by the time the band started the recording sessions for Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams in April 2012, he had amassed a total of 50 songs.

Quiet Riot (On Sale)The story of QUIET RIOT begins in 1980 when Kevin DuBrow formed a new band under his own name, working with Frankie Banali and a variety of musicians over the next few years before signing with Pasha/CBS Records, reverting back to the QUIET RIOT moniker, and entering the studio with new guitarist Carlos Cavazo and bassist Chuck Wright to start work on a new album. The year was 1982 and, following Randy Rhoads' well-documented death, former henchman Rudy Sarzo left Ozzy, replacing Chuck Wright who is the bass player on record for both the Metal Health and Don't Wanna Let You Go tracks, to complete the lineup and sessions for what would become 1983's Metal Health.1. No Questions Asked (On Sale)Arising from a punk rock party scene that exploded in the wasted midst of Hollywood tinsel and trash, The Flesh Eaters first mutated into a punk-fueled roots rock voodoo blues group (marked by the masterful A Minute to Pray, A Second To Die LP and a classic line-up of LA scene heavies) and later into a speed metal esoterrorica four-piece who throttled American hardcore with their mix of amped-up guitar hellfire and rough-hewn Jagger/Richards blues. Singer and band constant Chris D. (Desjardins) was able to sprout new heads for his band every couple of years while keeping a supremely intense, performance-as-catharsis ethos very much alive, and always charting fertile new musical ground. Live, Chris D. would shriek like he was conducting the last performance before Satan's bloody rapture, and as if he just might be taking the audience down with him. The rock pundits of the day thus brought forth much enthusiasm, enthusiasm now all but buried in the yellowing copies of local fanzines.Sleeping Sickness

Crush (On Sale)Those who clocked Abe Vigodas transition from the angular-punk of 2006's Kid City the startling tropicali-punk of 2008's Skeleton should know the LA quartet aren't ones for repeating themselves. To Skeletons hot-hot-hot template, they now add glassy shards of cold wave pop, with synthesizers, sequencers and altogether broodier beats. Scorching temperatures, icy currents, Crush is a thermal column of vertiginous brilliance!
Just as Skeleton was difficult to define, Crush is a similar collision of sound, another helter-skelter joy ride through four boys private party. Even so, there was a thought process behind this new surge. In 2009, after the band released the Reviver EP, Dane Chadwick replaced drummer Gerado Guerreno, introducing a new style of regimented beats as well as other musical ideas to the table.1. Sequins

Get ReadyMotown Records approached American R&B/rock band Rare Earth in the latter part of 1968 to sign a recording contract with the label. At first the group was reluctant because of the fact that other white artists/groups hadn't found success with the label because they were primarily geared for promotion and distribution in the black market only.
It was when Motown decided they wanted to launch a new division of Motown to cater to more white artists and broader radio formats that Rare Earth relented. Motown didn't have a name for their new endeavor initially so the band jokingly suggested their namesake Rare Earth. Surprisingly, they agreed and the Rare Earth subsidiary was born.
Rare Earth had been playing clubs for several years prior to signing with Motown, cutting their teeth on a lot of R&B music which was prevalent on the radio at the time. This is where the band developed their now famous version of the Smokey Robinson/Temptations song Get Ready. It started out as a 3-minute song until one member took a solo and then everyone wanted a solo so over time it evolved into a 21-minute long monster. It became the closing song each night and people liked it so much they would stay just to hear it.
The band even featured the extended take of Get Ready on an entire side of this, their 1969 debut album of the same name for Motown. After initial slow sales, they decided to release the first three minutes of Get Ready as a single. Not only was it a huge hit, peaking at #4, it propelled the album, which also boasts the band's takes on the classics Tobacco Road and Feelin' Alright, into the Top 20!1. Magic City

Paul Simon (On Sale)If any musical justification were needed for the breakup of Simon & Garfunkel, it could be found on this striking collection, Paul Simon's post-split debut. From the opening cut, Mother and Child Reunion (a Top Ten hit), Simon, who had snuck several subtle musical explorations into the generally conservative S&G sound, broke free, heralding the rise of reggae with an exuberant track recorded in Jamaica for a song about death. From there, it was off to Paris for a track in South American style and a rambling story of a fisherman's son, Duncan (which made the singles chart). But most of the album had a low-key feel, with Simon on acoustic guitar backed by only a few trusted associates (among them Joe Osborn, Larry Knechtel, David Spinozza, Mike Manieri, Ron Carter, and Hal Blaine, along with such guests as Stefan Grossman, Airto Moreira, and Stephane Grappelli), singing a group of informal, intimate, funny, and closely observed songs (among them the lively Top 40 hit Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard). It was miles removed from the big, stately ballad style of Bridge Over Troubled Water and signaled that Simon was a versatile songwriter as well as an expressive singer with a much broader range of musical interests than he had previously demonstrated. You didn't miss Art Garfunkel on Paul Simon, not only because Simon didn't write Garfunkel-like showcases for himself, but because the songs he did write showed off his own, more varied musical strengths.

Mansion Songs (Discontinued) (On Sale)Redemption comes in a multitude of forms. For Ethan Miller, it has arrived amid catharsis and transformation. The Howlin Rain we thought we knew has evolved, on Miller's newest, Mansion Songs, into something strange and true and beautiful, a sound made of cigarette ash and swollen moons, salt air and the eggshell light that comes just before the dawn.
The result is an album that pines and yearns, lusts and wails. "Meet Me in the Wheat," "Big Red Moon" and "Wild Bush" push the album into high gear, up-tempo jammers that form the yang to the mellow yin of the album's deep feel ballads. Tracks like "Restless" and "Lucy Fairchild" ache like raw wounds or sway like lost, half-sunken ships. "New Age" is bright and clear-eyed and full of wary joy. "Coliseum" prowls, red-veined and hungry - claws out and teeth sharp.1. Big Red Moon

Birth Control (On Sale)Three albums into their career, New Jersey's Fight Amp show no desire to outgrow their tough but taut noise rock tendencies, but that hardly means they are treading water in a sea of retarded sexuality either. Released in 2012, Birth Control introduces new drummer Dan Smith (who, conveniently, also designed its cover art) into vocalist/guitarist Mike McGinnis and vocalist/bassist Jon DeHart's private little fight club, and the tenacious, unforgiving music they produce in unison makes it just as easy to imagine the trio members sparring in a seedy old boxing gym as bashing away at their instruments in a dingy rehearsal space. And while the boys last just eight rounds (songs) on Birth Control, most of 'em extend well beyond the regulation three minutes and boast a series of curiously style-departing codas -- e.g., the menacing echoes of "White Pickett," the piano on "Should've Worn Black" -- that enhance the illusion of a championship bout going the distance. By and large, most tracks ("Fly Trap," "Creepy Kicks," "I Am the Corpse") focus on punishing instrumental interplay, guitars verging on the atonal, while McGinnis incessantly barks against the fading of the light, escalating to outright screams when the rage becomes more than he can contain. Not until the late-album instrumental left turn "Goner" does the band forgo its customary energy for a more measured, though no less intense, approach where bass grooves call the shots as guitars and drums deliver the body blows. All of which raises the question: are you man or woman enough to go toe to toe with Fight Amp? Then get in the ring!1. Fly Trap

Pocket Full Of Kryptonite (On Sale)180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl
Pocket Full of Kryptonite, originally pressed in 1991 sold over six million copies worldwide and was on Billboard's popchart for an incredible 115 straight weeks.
This reissue of Pocket Full Of Kryptonite by SoundStageDirect is a special project for both the band and Seth Frank, President and founder of SoundStageDirect. Seth's passion for vinyl started at the young age of 11 when he began working at the Princeton Record Exchange. It was in that very record store where a friendship between Seth and Chris Barron, the lead singer of the Spin Doctors solidified over a mutual love of music.
As the legend goes, Chris Barron went in to the Princeton Record Exchange in Princeton, N.J., when he was about 13 years old. He met 15-year-old Seth who at the time worked at the store which Chris thought was really cool. With $3 of hard-earned allowance in his pocket, Chris asked Seth, 'What's a really good album that's like, cheap?' Seth said, "Dude, 'Live At Leeds,' It's a killer album." And so Chris bought his first vinyl album for 99 cents, and walked out with enough money left over for a slice of pizza and a soda.
The two teenagers who bonded over their passion for music and vinyl records in particular are still friends today, coming full circle with the limited edition 180 gram vinyl release of Pocket Full Of Kryptonite. It's very clear both men still share the same excitement about bringing music to people, each in their own way.
The Spin Doctors are currently on tour with all of the original members (Chris Barron, Eric Schenkman, Aaron Comess & Mark White).
