    The Clarity

    Red Colored Vinyl

    Side B Etching

Finally...a new Sleep song!!! The first new song from the masters since their life changing, anthemic 63 minutes & 36 second opus to marijuana: Dopesmoker (1999)!: "The Clarity" on side A, Etching on side B. Artwork (Etching) by David V. D'Andrea. Mastered by John Golden. Recorded by Noah Landis. "The Clarity" 12" was previously only available directly from the band via their merch table or online web-store. This Southern Lord version has been recut by Adam Gonsalves/Telegraph Mastering and pressed on 180 gram vinyl at RTI.

The Lord version also has the ultra heavy-weight vinyl housed in a thick plastic picture disc style sleeve with the iconic Sleep logo silk-screened on the front.

While there may have been a few like them before them, there were none like them really and certainly none of after them. And so in 2009 when they were reborn with Cisneros who'd been reframing the world with the band OM, Matt Pike doing double duty with this and his HIGH ON FIRE, and the estimable Jason Roeder doing the same with NEUROSIS, SLEEP did what it had done and what it had left to do. Largely and without pause, make music in tune with The Ages.

The new Ortofon 2M MONO Series - the true MONO from Ortofon!

The 2M Series of cartridges is designed for precise and accurate retrieval of the information in the record groove. Our philosophy is to play the record sound as accurate as possible, without coloring the sound. The name 2M was selected among several ideas. We wanted a modern name that would be easy to pronounce and to remember, and therefore an alpha numerical name was chosen. 2M means MM, which is the abbreviation for moving magnet.

The 2M series of cartridges feature Ortofon's trademark split pole pins, an invention that enables moving magnet cartridges to have a flat frequency response, as with a moving coil cartridge. Split pole pins were invented by Ortofon, and were originally presented in the 500 series and Super OM series. We have optimized the design for ease of mounting the cartridge, weight and size to fit the most common turntables at the market today. 2M Series provides excellent compatibility in an assortment of playback systems and with a wide variety of phono preamps.

2M Mono Plug and Play model

The new 2M headshell is a practical and elegant solution for our customers who wish direct and easy mounting and replacement on their tonearm. The combination of 2M Headshell and 2M Series cartridge adds unique distinction to the turntable!

In Search Of The Lost Chord

The Moody Blues/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series Continues!

Celebrate 4 Decades Of Their Legendary Psychedelic Masterpiece In Search Of The Lost Chord - First Time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl!

Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso From The Original Deram Records Tapes

In Search of the Lost Chord was another huge platinum plus smash for The Moody Blues and a stellar continuance
of their progressive rock sound for the fans of this legendary English quintet. Featuring the original award winning lineup of Justin Hayward (lead vocals/guitars), John Lodge (lead vocals/bass), Ray Thomas (lead vocals/flutes), Ray Pinder
(lead vocals/keyboards) and Graeme Edge (drums/vocals), In Search of the Lost Chord is undoubtedly one of their biggest
selling albums and also one of the finest offerings in their huge catalog.

Buoyed by the success of the hit single Ride My See-Saw, their definitive follow up to Days of Future Passed, In Search of the Lost Chord was filled with more hypnotic rockers like the powerful Ray Thomas classic Legend of a Mind, John Lodge's masterpiece House of Four Doors, plus the legendary Justin Hayward's prog-rock
    champion Voices in the Sky.

The wonderful release also features a fine array of songs from vocalist and keyboard whiz Mike Pinder including
the acid rock sounds of The Best Way to Travel and the album's stellar closer Om, as well as the ever talented Graeme
Edge's distinctive drum work throughout the LP and his lyrical prowess with the album's well known classics The Word
    and Departure.

The beauty of this album is that you could always count on a classic listen from these five gentlemen of song.
Featuring Ray Thomas' striking vocals and flute delivery, Justin Hayward's and John Lodge's guitars and vocal acumen,
the magic of Ray Pinder on the keys and classic vocal, plus Graeme Edge's powerful drum and singing, In Search of the
Lost Chord became the album of choice for radio programmers in 1968. All in all, a hypnotic and spirited set from this
very important and much loved classic rock band.

This amazing album has been out of print on vinyl for many years, that is until now

Friday Music is very honored to continue another installment in our Moody Blues 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series

    Fall Of Man

    Gold Colored Vinyl

Emil Amos, the mastermind behind Holy Sons, returns with his second Thrill Jockey release, Fall of Man. The multi-instrumentalist (who counts himself as a member of Om, Grails, and Lilacs & Champagne) carves out new territory on his most diverse release to date, adding more hooks and pop balladry to his songs while still retaining the intimacy and psychological depth of his earlier records. 1970s classic rock has always been a touchstone for Amos, and on Fall of Man he filters those influences through his modern looking-glass to create a deliberate, melancholy album of epic scope, a sonic universe tinged with a soft, slight sadness.

    Chalice Hymnal

When Grails dropped their fifth studio album, Deep Politics
in 2011, it was instantly hailed as a cult classic and became
the moment when Grails truly cultivated a sound all their
own. Six years later, they advance that sound with their most
lush, expansive album of their inspired career, Chalice
    Hymnal.

Rather than pick up where they left off, Grails take the
sky-high riff-based heaviness of their earlier albums and
distill it into a nuanced, widescreen opus. The perennial
influences of mid-20th century Western film scores, obscure
library music, and psychedelic krautrock are indelibly
imprinted, but Chalice Hymnal exudes an eerie patience in
unfurling the many layers of its subtle details.

Produced by the band over the past five years, Chalice
Hymnal bears some of the European psych and
experimental hip-hop production techniques of founding
members Alex Hall and Emil Amos' other group, Lilacs &
Champagne. Amos' meditative metal band, Om, and
longtime singer-songwriter project, Holy Sons, also naturally
find their way into the Chalice cauldron. Rounding out their
leaner line-up, cofounder Zak Riles (also of experimental
kraut-psych trio, Watter) layers synths and programming into
an electronic-prog hybrid that pushes Grails further into the
deep end, displaying a profound resonance, both musically
and emotionally. No one else sounds like Grails, and on
Chalice Hymnal they sound more like themselves than ever
    before.

    Nite-Glo

Nite-Glo is the new offering from Stellar OM Source, the outrÉ-minded music venture of Christelle Gauldi. Tempering the freneticism unleashed on Stellar OM Source's 2013 album Joy One Mile, Nite-Glo guides Gauldi's rhythms to unexpected places of emotive and meditative power.

The four tracks of Nite-Glo were written during a transient time for Gauldi. Loss and processing the associated emotions informed those moments in which Gualdi could escape to her mobile studio set up. Recorded solely with her live hardware, Nite-Glo tears down any ornamental tapestry to uncover a core of luminescent synths, glowing 303 lines, and a burning awareness.

Nite-Glo continues an off-script musical journey informed by Gualdi's formal training in electro-acoustic composition at the Conservatoire de Paris and an ascent from the DIY synth scene of the mid-aughts to a global dancefloor. Rewarding listeners keen on conscious listening, the passages of Nite-Glo crystalize as tracks unfurl and sequences reveal an absolute power over time.

Transcending its cathartic context, Nite-Glo finds Christelle Gauldi abstracting the ebullience of Stellar OM Source's sound in favor of remote spaces and roiling tempos. A snapshot of Gualdi's personal and creative transition, Nite-Glo beams through a mournful context, visible only as eyes have adjusted in the shadows.

    Joy One Mile

Stellar OM Source's new album, Joy One Mile, marks a certain and spirited departure
into worlds unknown. A faithful leap into the infinite beat, Joy One Mile is the most
forward-reaching effort by Stellar OM Source yet.
Stellar OM Source originated from Christelle Gualdi's desire to unhinge from her
academic musical upbringing. A double bassist in the Konigin Katharina Stift
Schulorchester and a student of music theory at UniversitÉ Paris VIII, Gualdi
completed her studies in electro-acoustic composition at the Conservatoire de Paris
    after earning an architecture degree.

The process of Gualdi's "unlearning" began in experimental ensemble settings,
and it became more recognizable as she moved toward solo performance.
Stellar OM Source's name is fittingly inspired in part by the pathway to higher
consciousness and cosmos via one's own voice.

Gualdi was also inspired by-and also an integral member of-the late aughts
DIY synthesizer community. Alongside Oneohtrix Point Never, Emeralds and James Ferraro,
Stellar OM Source's stream of self-released CDRs defined a zeitgeist of artists
trending away from their noisy roots via polyphonic escapism.

Based many miles away from her US counterparts in The Hague, South Holland,
Gualdi received a prophetic sign in 2010 when a regional eBay seller offered her
a mint Roland TB-303 for a mere €25-or $33. The instantly identifiable sounds of
the analog bass synthesizer began appearing in Gualdi's studio and live practices.
By virtue of her many aspirations and the array of hardware that Gualdi brought
to the table, Joy One Mile took shape in chaos. Where this disorder might cripple
others, Gualdi's response was energetically and emotionally charged.

The freedom from form that Gualdi sought with Joy One Mile was ultimately
obtained, but the severe surge of the finished recordings left her over stimulated.
Striking a dialogue with Gunnar Wendel (aka Kassem Mosse), Gualdi realized an
objective opinion and arrangement know how would allow clarity and an even
greater freedom-that from her own music.

The singularity of Gualdi's compositions, when pulled back and recalibrated even
slightly, resemble early era Warp Records, and, by that admission, the wayward
electro of early-90s Detroit. The abstractions in Gualdi's programming and mutant
melodies is what keeps Joy One Mile perfectly relegated to outsider status, akin to
the primitive techno of Esplendor Geometrico and Chris & Cosey

    Ballads

Throughout John Coltrane's discography there are a handful of decisive and controversial albums that split his listening camp into factions. Generally, these occur in his later-period works such as Om and Ascension, which push into some pretty heady blowing. As a contrast, Ballads is often criticized as too easy and as too much of a compromise between Coltrane and Impulse! (the two had just entered into the first year of label representation). Seen as an answer to critics who found his work complicated with too many notes and too thin a concept, Ballads has even been accused of being a record that Coltrane didn't want to make. These conspiracy theories (and there are more) really just get in the way of enjoying a perfectly fine album of Coltrane doing what he always did -- exploring new avenues and modes in an inexhaustible search for personal and artistic enlightenment. With Ballads he looks into the warmer side of things, a path he would take with both Johnny Hartman (on John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman) and with Duke Ellington (on Duke Ellington and John Coltrane). Here he lays out for McCoy Tyner mostly, and the results positively shimmer at times. He's not aggressive, and he's not outwardly. Instead he's introspective and at times even predictable, but that is precisely Ballads' draw.

    De Leeuw Zingt Long

    With Ortofon OM 10

The new DEBUT Carbon Phono USB DC has been designed to set new standards in this category for the coming decade - perfectly timed as analogue today is again a respected source, while the demand for good turntables is growing again!

The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a CARBON TUBE for the tonearm, which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. This material normally is extensively used in high-end tonearms, but - because of cost reasons - was never used in products at lower price levels. Together with other improvements like an increase in platter size and weight to realize even smoother rotation, the overall sound quality is greatly improved. The approved belt drive design offers low noise AC motor with effective motor decoupling (utilising TPE-damping) and ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability without unwanted vibration.

Because Debut Carbon Phono USB (DC) comes with the pre-mounted cartridge and build-in phono preamplifier with USB output, connection to both line-level input of your hi-fi system and recording of vinyl to PC/Mac easily can be done simultaneously!

Spherical 65um Diamond, true mono, for 78s

The 2M 78 Series - the true MONO from Ortofon!

2M are designed for precise and accurate retrieval of the information in the record groove. Our philosophy is to play the record sound as accurate as possible, without coloring the sound. We have optimized the design for ease of mounting the cartridge, weight and size to fit the most common turntables at the market today.

The name 2M was selected among several ideas. We wanted a modern name that would be easy to pronounce and to remember, and therefore an alpha numerical name was chosen. 2M means MM, which is the abbreviation for moving magnet.

Of course the 2M isn't just another pretty face. It has been engineered to the highest standards and is congruent with the unrelenting commitment of Ortofon to provide the most precise and accurate reproduction possible without coloration.

The 2M series of cartridges feature Ortofon's trademark split pole pins, an invention that enables moving magnet cartridges to have a flat frequency response, as with a moving coil cartridge. Split pole pins were invented by Ortofon, and were originally presented in the 500 series and Super OM series.

    The 2M 78 features a 65um diamond for playback of 78rpm records, and a true-mono engine.

Turntable innovation for vinyl starters with class-leading sound quality & vinyl recording capability!

A quiet-running synchronous motor with silicone belt is driving a low-resonance platter made from MDF. A new motor control with DC power supply minimzes unwanted vibration effectively. The main platter bearing consists of stainless steelspindle and bronze bushing with Teflon bottom to seccure low friction. The main chassis is made from lightweight, but very stiff particle board.

Essential II Phono USB utilises a straight 8,6 aluminium tonearm design made from a single piece of aluminium with sapphire bearings, which offers a far better plug & play solution, than it's predecessor. Special feet effectively decouples the turntable from the surface.

Because Essential II Phono USB comes with pre-mounted cartridge and built-in phono preamplifier with USB output, connection to both line-level input of your hifi system and PC/Mac easily can be used simultaneously! Open-Source recording software Audacity® is not based on a specific platform, is available for free and the perfect solution for recording and processing of your audio data.
