    Singularity

New Order announces the third single release to
be taken from their acclaimed new album, Music
    Complete.

"Singularity" is all two-tone synth line, tight bass and
menace. The Tom Rowland-produced track is harkens
back to early New Order, filtered through groups that
they inspired, yet given another twist by the originators,
concluding in a noisy synth vortex.

New Order released their new album, Music
Complete, on September 25, 2015. Music Complete
finds the group revitalized, and where the group has
previously pushed toward electronics or guitars, here
the two are in balance. Music Complete also marks
a return to the studio for Gillian Gilbert; this is her first
album with New Order since 2001's Get Ready.

"Singularity" is supported with a full remix package
including remixes by Mark Reeder, Erol Alkan, and
    JS Zeiter.

New Order is: Bernard Sumner, Gillian Gilbert, Stephen
Morris, Tom Chapman and Phil Cunningham.

    1. Singularity (Extended Mix)
    2. Singularity (Mark Reeder Duality Remix)
    3. Singularity (Erol Alkan's Extended Mix)

    Manufactured At R.T.I.

First Time Gatefold & Poster Presentation

    Includes 12 x 12 Poster

In 1977, the superstar Kinks embarked on an incredible musical journey which surely was developing into the most successful era of their four-decade career. Thanks in part to their first Arista Records smash album Sleepwalker, Ray Davies, Dave Davies, Mick Avory and John Dalton expanded their early 70's sound into a unique brand of album oriented rock and storytelling like no other legacy band at the time.

With nine solid new rockers like the autobiographical Life On The Road and smash singles like Juke Box Music and the stellar title track Sleepwalker, the entire LP seemed like a greatest hits album at the time due to the way rock radio was so receptive to this tremendous new masterwork from The Kinks.

Filled with even more favorites like Mr. Big Man, Sleepless Night and Life Goes On, the Rock Hall Of Famers' The Kinks truly delivered one of the most important albums of the classic rock era with the brilliant Sleepwalker.

Therefore it is with much pleasure to continue our lengthy reissue program with another fine installment in The Kinks/ Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with their 1977 groundbreaking hit LP Sleepwalker. And what a better way to celebrate your holidays this year with this exclusive Friday Music release on limited edition Black & White Swirl Vinyl.

Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and Capitol Mastering in Hollywood, CA, the amazing release is also manufactured at R.T.I.

To further enhance your Kinks musical enjoyment, we are also presenting this stellar album in a first time gatefold cover, as well as including a 12 x 12 front cover LP poster insert.

So, please join Friday Music in welcoming back The Kinks and their legendary Sleepwalker LP.

    Singles Breaking Up (Pre-Order)

By no means a release of new or current Don Cab material (and originally released in 1999), Singles Breaking Up (Vol. 1) offers quite a range of the band's history to appreciate. The oldest recordings found here are programs 1-6 which became the first two singles and a b-side for the fourth. They were recorded in a 1/2 inch 8 track studio by Lee Hollihan of Valencia, PA (the original Good Morning Vietnam man) for only $25 an hour. The next batch, 7-9, were recorded by Steve Albini in his once home studio and were a part of the For Respect Sessions. Program 10 was also recorded in this same studio by colleague engineer Bob Weston. Program 11 was recorded in Detroit by engineer Al Sutton and was a part of the sessions for Don Caballero 2. Lastly, programs 12-13 were recorded again by Steve Albini in the B room portion of this Chicago studio Electrical Audio. The photographic art concept for the whole anthology is simply this: 7-inch phonograph singles breaking up, in the kind of setting of giving Abby Road back to the people.

    Lower-Priced Black Vinyl Triple-LP Set

How would you like to hear a new side-or should we say sides-of the world's greatest funk band? This 3-LP, 40-track collecton presents the A and B-side of every single that organist Art Neville, guitarist Leo Nocentelli, bassist George Porter, Jr., and drummer Joseph "Zigaboo" Modeliste cut for the Josie, Reprise & Warner Bros. label, virtually their entire singles output (all but two co-produced by the late, great Allen Toussaint) save for a few odds 'n' ends issued mostly overseas. That means that you not only get every hit along with its hard-to-find B-side but also the rare single mixes, including the especially rare original mono single mixes of the 1968-1971 Josie sides, very few of which have appeared on vinyl since their original 45 release (the first three LP sides are all mono; the last three, featuring the later Reprise and Warner Bros. singles, presents all stereo single mixes). These songs represent the mother lode of New Orleans funk, classic tracks like "Sophisticated Cissy," "Cissy Strut," "Look-Ka Py Py," "Chicken Strut," "Hand Clapping Song," "Hey Pocky A-Way," and more. And, with liner notes by Bill Dahl featuring quotes from Nocentelli, Neville, and Porter, this 3-LP set offers the best vinyl retrospective to date of this enormously influential band. And how's the sound? Well, after extensive and exhaustive tape research, we were able to come up with original tape sources for all but five of these single sides, and the remastering-by Mike Milchner at SonicVision-is tight. Now in a lower-priced black vinyl edition for crate-diggers everywhere!

    I Wish U Heaven (Single)

    12 Maxi-Single Reissue

Featuring I Wish U Heaven And Scarlet Pussy

I Wish U Heaven is a joyful, spiritual song with few lyrics, which runs 2:43. The 12 single is a substantially extended three-part suite which runs over ten minutes.

Part One of the mix starts with a stripped-down version of the Lovesexy album song, remixed with a dance beat. The original drum programming and rhythmic electric guitar riffs are deleted for much of the song.

Part Two is a gospel rendition with new lyrics, continuing the spiritual theme. This part of the song was often sung in concert during the Lovesexy World Tour. The beginning of this section paraphrases lyrics from Housequake, from the previous album Sign O the Times. Prince also quotes the film Scarface with the lines Say hello to my little friend... and then introduces the Blue Angel, a new blue version of his custom White Cloud guitar featured in the film Purple Rain. Sheila E. is also given a call out, and her voice can be heard responding in this section.

Part Three is based on an outtake called Take This Beat and deviates quite a bit from the original theme. This segment has Prince using his Jamie Starr persona to humorously tout the fact that he's funky, musically talented, and has plenty of beats (songs) that are so fine. The song ends with a looped repeat of the title. This version of the song became one of the highlights during the supporting tour in which Prince would usually order the house lights to be turned up, and instruct the crowd during a call and response segment.

The B-side, Scarlet Pussy, is credited to Prince's alter ego, Camille. The song is very sexual, using metaphors of cats and dogs for sexual organs, a theme Prince previously used for the B-side La, La, La, He, He, Hee. Prince uses his sped-up Camille vocals, as well as a slowed-down vocal, similar to Bob George from The Black Album. The song features a saxophone solo from Eric Leeds. The decision to include such a raunchy song with the spiritual A-side was noteworthy. The edit of Scarlet Pussy was included on 1993's The Hits/The B-Sides.

    Colors (Pre-Order)

    Pressed On Red Colored Vinyl

Hailed in advance by Rolling Stone as a "euphoric blast of experimental pop", Beck's 13th album Colors has been confirmed for release via Capitol Records. Possibly the most aptly titled work in Beck's storied discography, Colors unfolds in an intoxicating rainbow of auditory tricks and treats, making it a summery smash for the fall season.

Colors is Beck's first full-length offering of new material since 2014's Gold-certified Morning Phase took Album of the Year top honors at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, as well as Best Rock Album and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) category. In addition to the new single "Dear Life", Colors includes both Beck singles that preceded it: a new mix of the psych-dance summer jam "Dreams" that NPR hailed as "urgently contemporary and irresistibly vintage", and the retro-futuristic earworm "Wow" that had Stereogum praising its "big, sweet incandescent hook" and plainly stating "It's a great song!" while Esquire rejoiced "All hail the return of Party Beck".

Colors was produced by Greg Kurstin and Beck, with the exception of "Wow" produced by Beck and Cole M.G.N., and "Fix Me" produced by Beck. The album was mixed by Serban Ghenea, except "Dreams" and "Up All Night," which were mixed by Greg Kurstin and Beck.

    Sketches (Pre-Order)

Classically trained pianist, violinist, producer, and composer, Poppy Ackroyd turned heads in the neo-classical world with her previous works Escapement and Feathers, as well as her involvement in Hidden Orchestra (Tru Thoughts). Advocated by giants of the genre, Hauschka and Nils Frahm, the unique musician has returned with a mini-album to be released on Bjork's label One Little Indian Records.

The songs serve to reintroduce listeners to Ackroyd's most stunning pieces from her previous albums, all of which have been reworked into 'acoustic' solo piano arrangements alongside four brand new unheard pieces, which offer a taste of a new forthcoming record.

The record, aptly named Sketches, due to its stripped down nature, is bejeweled by thematic undercurrents - birds are the inspiration for three of the tracks, which are to be released together as the lead singles from the album.

'Birdwoman' and 'Glass Sea' feature field recordings of birds and the ocean, recorded on Brighton Beach and North Rona respectively. 'Feathers' is the title track of my second album Feathers says Ackroyd, discussing the theme of birds.

'Feathers' is a piece about hope - 'Hope is the thing with Feathers' (Emily Dickinson), 'Birdwoman' is a reworking of a piece I originally wrote as a soundtrack to a silent film based on a Siberian folk tale, and 'Glass Sea' attempts to capture the feel of a boat trip I took to the remote islands of North Rona and Sula Sgeir, North of the Outer Hebrides. The ocean was unusually still, reflecting the sky like a sheet of glass, but the sky became busy with birds as we approached the islands.

Ackroyd is a keen collaborator, having created soundtracks for film, dance, physical theater and radio. The artist won a BAFTA for an animation soundtrack that she wrote and performed in 2015. Through studying contemporary classical piano works and listening to electronic music, Ackroyd developed a unique compositional style, using contemporary pianistic ideas whilst also inhabiting the world of sound beyond the keyboard, using unconventional techniques to 'play' other parts of the instruments as well.

Talking about the recording of Sketches, Ackroyd said: The songs were recorded just outside of Brighton at Retreat Studios, close to the sea on the edge of the village, surrounded by hills, fields, and wildlife. As if by magic, it began to rain just before I began to record the track 'Rain', and ended shortly after I finished. You can hear the rain build and then die away with the music on the finished piece.

I have loved creating this solo piano album. There are normally all these layers that I use to create a world of sound, that I love to build and sculpt, but there is something really special about communicating simply through the instrument alone. With other layers there is always something to hide behind, with only the piano you can just focus on your technique and expression, everything feels very audible and exposed and that is very exciting, especially in a live context.

Cults made their name in black and white. A pair of film school dropouts who burst onto the New York scene with a perfect single and a darkly retro sound, the band's first two albums play like noirish documentaries on a lost girl group. Four years after Static, Cults returns with Offering, an exciting collection of songs bursting with heart, confidence, shimmering melody and buzzing life. The time off has given the band new energy and new ideas--Cults are working in Technicolor now. The core duo remains the same. Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion, both 28, still live in New York. They still finish each other's thoughts and still share a love of catchy music and black humor. But the pair have put some blood on the tracks since their breakout debut: they've toured the world, built a devoted audience, survived a breakup, grown up in green rooms, parted ways with their old label and made a home of their new one. Offering is the work of two artists who know what they want and how to make it happen.

How do you best describe Angel Olsen? From the lo-fi, sparse folk-melancholy of her 2010 EP, Strange Cacti, to the electrified, polished rock 'n' roll bursting from 2016's beloved and acclaimed MY WOMAN, Olsen has refused to succumb to a single genre, expectation, or vision. Impossible to pin down, Olsen navigates the world with her remarkable, symphonic voice and a propensity for narrative, her music growing into whatever shape best fits to tell the story.

Phases is a collection of Olsen's work culled from the past several years, including a number of never-before-released tracks. Fly On Your Wall, previously contributed to the Bandcamp-only, anti-Trump fundraiser Our First 100 Days, opens Phases, before seamlessly slipping into Special, a brand new song from the MY WOMAN recording sessions. Both How Many Disasters and Sans are first-time listens: home-recorded demos that have never been released, leaning heavily on Olsen's arresting croon and lonesome guitar.

The B-sides compilation is both a testament to Olsen's enormous musical range and a tidy compilation of tracks that have previously been elusive in one way or another. Balancing tenacity and tenderness, Phases acts as a deep-dive for longtime fans, as well as a fitting introduction to Olsen's sprawling sonics for the uninitiated.

Since 1988, UNSANE has pounded the planet with their caustic grooves and foundation-crumbling riffs, having released LPs through a wide range of labels including Matador/Atlantic, Amphetamine Reptile, Relapse, Ipecac, Alternative Tentacles, and others, not to mention a wide range of singles, splits, and live albums. The band's gnarled blend of punk, metal, noise, and hardcore helping to define the AmRep sound alongside other forerunners of the style, Today Is The Day, The Jesus Lizard, Helmet, Tad, Cows, Halo Of Flies, Melvins, and others.

Closing a five-year gap since the 2012 release of their Wreck LP through Alternative Tentacles, UNSANE makes a vicious return with the pummeling Sterilize, a record that recalls the most defining elements of the band's seminal Scattered, Smothered, And Covered and Occupational Hazard albums, surging with the band's unrelenting singular sound created by guitarist/vocalist Chris Spencer, bassist/vocalist Dave Curran, and drummer Vinnie Signorelli. Sterilize was produced by UNSANE, recorded by Dave Curran at Gatos Trail Studios in Yucca Valley, California, mixed by Andrew Schneider at Acre in New York City, and mastered by Carl Saff at Saff Mastering in Chicago.

    Nightbringers (Pre-Order)

Any band that has earned an army of devout followers through dropping seven killer full-lengths - and touring their collective ass off for sixteen years - could perhaps be forgiven for thinking they could take it easy as they wade into their eighth release. But that's just not The Black Dahlia Murder's style, and Nightbringers is testament to that. Having released their most accomplished, aggressive, and emotionally diverse music to date in the form of 2015's Abysmal, the Michigan quintet have once more pushed themselves to new heights, and the 34 minutes of searing melodic death metal that comprises Nightbringers is riveting listening. "I always feel a responsibility to the people who support this band when we start making a new record," asserts vocalist Trevor Strnad. "The pressure that comes from people being excited to hear what you come up with next can be intimidating, but it's so exciting that those people love you so much for just doing what you do. It makes you want to honor what you've done in the past, but also excite them with where you go next, and that definitely drove us on Nightbringers. When we started writing I honestly didn't know we had this album in us, and I feel really proud of it. It's a great moment for us."

Rather than meticulously plan things out or stick rigidly to any kind of template, when it comes to writing The Black Dahlia Murder prefer to let things happen organically. In the hands of guitarist Brian Eschbach - who co-founded the band with Strnad in 2001 - and new recruit Brandon Ellis (Cannabis Corpse/ex-Arsis) Nightbringers is rich with dynamic riffs that are at once fresh and classic TBDM, resulting in a collection that shifts through many moods and effortlessly incorporates various elements of extreme metal. With guitarist Ryan Knight having amicably stepped down in 2016, the addition of twenty-four-year-old Ellis to the band's ranks has helped usher in an exciting new era. "He's very professional for his age, I think he's skilled far beyond his years, and his live energy is exceptional. When Max (Lavelle, bass) joined the band he challenged a lot of us on stage to raise our personal bar, and Brandon's pushed that even further," states Strnad. "Brandon coming into the band and writing a bunch of songs was an awesome surprise too. He really took the reins, and this record is also the most involved that Alan (Cassidy drums) has been too. The way that we were doing the demos and bouncing things back and forth he had a lot of room to do what he wanted to do, and I think it's definitely a more colorful album for that. I also think as we get older the emotional content goes up. I think we better realize how to grip the listener. Personally, I try to write lyrics that are going to match each part, and kind of ramp up those feelings that we're putting across." Strnad's statements are vividly borne out by every moment of Nightbringers. For fans attending 2017's Summer Slaughter tour, the first taste of of the record came with the inclusion of the title track in their set, which has an undeniable immediacy to it, rich with hooks and boasting a "circusy, evil and playful" air. By contrast, "Catacomb Hecatomb" is suffused with tragedy, the mournful tone of its slower passages deeply affecting. This too is dramatically different to "As Good As Dead", which has some swagger to it that Strnad likens to Megadeth, or "Matriarch", described by Eschbach as a "wild, neoclassical romp" and stands as one of the most cutthroat and all out aggressive tracks in the quintet's arsenal. Upon first hearing the latter, Strnad was intent on matching its visceral intensity. "I felt inspired to write very violent lyrics to it. It's told from the perspective of a woman who is trying to have a child and not having any luck, and she goes kind of crazy and stalks this other woman who is due to have a child. She finds her moment to take it from her, cutting it right out of her stomach." While Strnad explores a variety of themes and ideas with his lyrics, they are united by the album's title, which embraces a tenet that has been central to The Black Dahlia Murder's output since the very beginning. "A lot of archaic ideas that are still upheld - such as marriage and monogamy - came from Christianity, whether people want to acknowledge it or not, and to me, death metal has always been bucking that. It's 'being-the-villain music', because we're the enemy of Christianity, the enemy of all that is good and traditional. Death metal is for free thinkers, it's for showing people the path to inner strength and operating on your own will, instead of being told what to do and living in fear, and songs like the title track and "Kings Of The Nightworld" are about leading a legion of awakened minds into battle." Following this theme also motivated Strnad to forge into ever-darker territory, even when this meant tearing things up and starting over. "I felt I needed to rise to the occasion to make as much of the blood and guts and heinousness as possible, and there was actually a couple of points where I rewrote some songs. I just didn't feel like they were dark enough, or violent enough, so I was really trying to ramp up the monstrous aspects of things, and definitely trying in different ways to take down tradition."

Rather than decamp to a single studio, the members split off when it came time to start laying down the songs - all well versed in how to get the best out of their individual performances. With former bassist Ryan Williams once again assisting, the drums were tracked at The Pipe Yard in Plymouth, Michigan and rhythm guitars in the band's practice space in Warren, Michigan [was bass tracked there too?]. Ellis then recorded his many blistering solos in his home studio, while Strnad headed to Full Force Studios on Long Island, with Joe Cincotta (Suffocation, Internal Bleeding) overseeing his sessions. For the unique and haunting cover art they turned to Kristian Wåhlin, aka Necrolord, who has designed seminal artwork for the likes of At The Gates, Bathory, Emperor and also TBDM's 2007 release, Nocturnal. "I think he's the most prominent artist when it comes to classic releases in the melodic death metal genre, and kind of bringing things full circle with it being the ten-year anniversary of Nocturnal felt right. By now people probably wouldn't have expected us to go back to him, so it's kind of a surprise, but at the same time it's a very classic cover too." With the band celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the aforementioned album by playing it in its entirety on Summer Slaughter, it has given them a moment to reflect not only on the road that has led them to here but also that which lies ahead. "When I think back to when we started the band I feel very proud of everything we've done, and I also see a lot of improvement over the years," says Strnad. "In the early songs I can hear us as kids, and then segueing into our adulthood as musicians and writers, but sixteen years in I still feel young as a band. I feel like we have a shit ton left to do, and I think we're sitting pretty with the best lineup we've ever had. I also think Nightbringers could be our finest hour yet. I feel very strongly that it will affect people, I want to get all of these songs in people's ears, and I want them to check out everything we've got on this record. There's so much variety and so many great ideas, and I think that this could take us to another place."

    Five (Pre-Order)

The number five holds a deep significance. We have five senses. Five points adorn a star. Five represents man in theology. For the five members of Hollywood Undead-Johnny 3 Tears, J-Dog, Charlie Scene, Funny Man, and Danny-the digit perfectly encapsulates their fifth full-length offering- V (FIVE).

The band recently announced the album's first single, California Dreaming. Powered by neck-snapping guitars and fast and furious bars, the song cycles between guttural rapping and quick quips. Everything culminates on the choral chant We never sleep, in California we're dreaming.

It dissects both sides of California, J-Dog reveals. You've got the glitz, glamour, sun, and surf. Then, you've got the super fucked side of people not being able to afford rent, celebrities being assholes, and that fake façade. We wanted to do a heavy song with a Red Hot Chili Peppers-esque chorus. It's an old school vibe explored in a new way.

We're five brothers, and this is our fifth record, affirms Johnny 3 Tears. Nothing gets to the essence of the music like this number does. Numerology has a lot of power. When we said Five, it just made sense. The fact that we could all agree on one word codifies who we are. It also nods back to 'No. 5' from our first album, because it was our fifth song. Moreover, it hints at this secret society of fans supporting us for the past decade. The number is significant, and this is a significant moment for us.

    Reworks (Pre-Order)

With its distinctive renditions of songs by DJ Shadow, My Bloody
Valentine, Fleet Foxes, and more, Walt Wagner's Reworks shows how
three Seattle institutions - Wagner, the city's renowned Canlis
restaurant, and Sub Pop Records - have evolved over the years. When
veteran pianist Wagner first landed at Canlis in 1996, he started out
performing a set heavy on the Great American Songbook and the
occasional pop tune. As young staff members recommended new
artists and songs, Wagner's repertoire grew deeper and more varied -
especially after the next generation of the Canlis family took over in
2003. Yet whether the source material was Pink Floyd, Prince,
Metallica, or the Weeknd, the challenge remained the same: "To distill
the vibe on a record, the very essence of a song, into solo piano
    playing."

One fateful night a couple years ago, a crew from Sub Pop were dining
at the restaurant when they recognized melodies by Adele and Daft
Punk wafting through the restaurant and decided to investigate. Canlis
co-owner Mark Canlis offered the Sub Pop crew a full tour, and when
he pulled out a vintage copy of the '60s LP Live At Canlis, an idea was
born. With Wagner preparing to retire, the time was ripe for a recording
that captured his inimitable gifts in their natural surroundings.

In preparation for the big night, Wagner sat down with the Sub Pop
team for more ideas. "I wanted them to feed me tunes that they loved
and could imagine hearing me play." Sub Pop alumni Fleet Foxes and
Band of Horses were already staples of Wagner's sets, but what magic
could he work with DJ Shadow, Phoenix, or My Bloody Valentine? He
had three months to find out.

The album's opening selection, "Building Steam with a Grain of Salt,"
provides a glimpse into Wagner's modus operandi. "The first time I
listened to it, I said 'well what can I do with that?'" He recalls. "But
the more I listened, the more I noticed these signature moments in the
song, and through messing around with those and improvisation, I
    ended up with my version."

Recorded before a packed house on October 9, 2016, Reworks is more
than just a souvenir of a very special evening; it captures decades of
musicianship that forged Wagner's distinctive style. He studied
classical piano throughout his youth, yet kept his playing secret until
he'd reached his teens, when he began playing in rock bands.

While learning to improvise and play more rhythmically made him a hit
with his peers, his classical instruction made his band the Exotics
especially popular with local bookers. "We were one of the only bands
that could read music, so we accompanied different stars of the time:
Dick and Dee Dee, Johnny Crawford, all these '50s and early '60s
artists that came to town." The Exotics even cut a single, a Wagner
original entitled "Oasis," that made it to #3 on local radio station KJR
    in the summer of 1961.

In the years that followed, Wagner played at downtown Seattle
watering holes and eateries and refined his jazz chops. Two decades at
Canlis taught him to interact with listeners in a whole new way. And
now, flush with excitement over Reworks, Wagner may not stay retired
    for long.

    Joy Division: Box Set

Released in a Limited Edition of only 3,000 copies worldwide, this 180-Gram virgin vinyl, four-disc JOY DIVISION BOX SET contains new pressings of the band's two seminal studio albums - UNKNOWN PLEASURES ('79) and CLOSER ('80) - and the 1981 two-disc rarities compilation STILL.

JOY DIVISION: BOX SET allows you to experience these pioneering albums the way they were heard originally - on sonically rich vinyl LPs. The three titles - a total of four LPS - come housed in an elegant cloth-covered box designed by U.K. artist Peter Saville, who created the distinctive artwork and packaging on the original issues of these classic releases. Once the 3,000 copies sell out, the box will not be reproduced.

Joy Division's 1979 debut UNKNOWN PLEASURES is a landmark album that established the band as principal architects and ultimate icons of the post-punk movement and the U.K. Manchester scene of the late '70s. UNKNOWN PLEASURES' ten classic songs resonate with the atmospheric textures and deep sonic spaces of Martin Hannett's production. Highlights include Insight, Disorder, New Dawn Fades and She's Lost Control. The latter song is the inspiration for the title of the 2007 film Control, the acclaimed Anton Corbijn-directed feature chronicling the life and times of Joy Division's lead singer and principal songwriter, the late Ian Curtis.

Joy Division's 1980 follow-up CLOSER, another seminal post-punk masterpiece, ranks #157 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. Musically and lyrically driven by the prevailing despair of Ian Curtis - who killed himself only months after the LP was released - CLOSER was also produced by Martin Hannett, who weaves sprawling emotional chaos and shifting atmospheres and textures together into an enormously powerful ten-song tour de force. Stand-outs include Heart And Soul, Isolation, Eternal, Decades and the wrenching Twenty Four Hours.

The compilation STILL came out in late 1981, over a year after Curtis' death. Comprised of twenty studio outtakes, b-sides, live cuts and other rarities, all the tracks were previously unissued at the time of STILL's original release except for Glass and Dead Souls, both compelling studio recordings from 1978 and 1979, respectively. STILL also presents material from Joy Division's last-ever concert, recorded at Birmingham University in May 1980 including the only time they performed Ceremony live (the song would later become a New Order single). Another track captured at Birmingham is Shadowplay, a selection covered in 2007 by The Killers for the soundtrack for the film Control. Other highlights include a live cover of The Velvet Underground's Sister Ray and a 1979 studio recording of Something Must Break.

Joy Division formed in Manchester, England in 1977, and had an immense and profound impact on contemporary music in a very brief time together. They recorded only two full-length studio albums, UNKNOWN PLEASURES and CLOSER, prior to lead singer Ian Curtis' 1980 suicide, just before the single Love Will Tear Us Apart became their breakthrough hit. The remaining members - guitarist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris - disbanded Joy Division after Curtis' death, and re-formed as New Order.

    Dookie (Picture Disc) (Pre-Order)

Ranked 193/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

    Picture Disc Edition

Green Day's third release and major label debut, Dookie turned the San Francisco Bay area trio into overnight stars in 1994 and they've never looked back. Their infectious brand of modern punk revitalized the genre with its flippant humor and ironic self-loathing. The album produced the five hit singles Longview, Welcome to Paradise, Basket Case, She and When I Come Around and remains the band's biggest selling record. Dookie won the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Performance. Green Day was also nominated for Best New Artist, Basket Case was nominated for Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocal and Longview was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance. Reissued here on 180g Vinyl with bonus CD.

    Feed The Machine (Pre-Order)

Pressed On Black & Red Marble Colored Vinyl

Diamond-certified, global award-winning rock band, Nickelback, are set to release their ninth studio album 'Feed the Machine' on vinyl via BMG. Recorded in Vancouver and produced by Nickelback and Chris Baseford, the new album features singles "Feed the Machine," "Must Be Nice," and "Song On Fire."

"Feed the Machine is about thinking for yourself and not taking the phrase "believe me" at face value," said Nickelback guitarist, Ryan Peake.

This album showcases a more aggressive and urgent sound from the band. With the title track and lead single, "Feed the Machine", Nickelback explores the struggle for people to think for themselves on a variety of levels within this tumultuous digital-fueled era. Introspective and timely, the track offers a pulsating slice of the Nickelback aural experience. With that gauntlet thrown, the second track off the album demands the listener throw a "Coin for the Ferryman" on a road trip that promises, "we can make it but we take the chance of never going back home," while the single "Must Be Nice" provides listeners with 100 miles an hour in your face rock-n-roll. The album does not shy away from also touching upon matters of the heart. On "Song On Fire", the band talks about the need to love or be loved, your heart yearning for something that your rational mind knows is impossible to hold onto.
