    Harvest

Ranked 78/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

    NOW ON 180-GRAM VINYL!!!

Remastered from the original tapes! It sounds incredible!!

A quadruple Platinum No. 1 smash and the best-selling album of 1972, Harvest was Neil Young's fourth solo effort. With the Gold No. 1 Heart Of Gold, Top 40 Old Man, powerful The Needle And The Damage Done, controversial A Man Needs A Maid and Southern Man companion Alabama, Harvest won inclusion in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Albums Of All Time.

Deceptively laid-back-sounding country-rock plaints like Out On The Weekend and the title cut caress the ear unassumingly, pulling you into the more ominous subtext that is present in the rollicking Are You Ready For The Country. As always, Young has an ear for contrasts, laying down heavy rock (Alabama) besides his balladry, and even employing the London Symphony Orchestra on the excellent confessional A Man Needs A Maid. Due to back troubles, Young recorded much of this material while wearing a brace, a fact that seems audible in the tension and unease that underlies the friendly, acoustic surface of this superb release.

    Neil Young Greatest Hits

After all these years we finally get a Greatest Hits which could be thought of more as a sampler of his many Hits even though it comes as a 2 LP
set with a bonus 7 single (Sugar Mountain (mono version) / The Loner). This was cut from complied 30 ips analog master tapes prepared by John Nowland at Neil Young's Redwood Ranch Studios and mastered and cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. After listening tests at the Ranch Neil Young decided that Classic's 180g Super Vinyl Profile was to be used exclusively for this long anticipated release which includes favorites such as Cinnamon Girl, Helpless, Comes A Time, Harvest Moon among others. This LP belongs in every collection - enough said.

    Neil Young

Whether as a singer, a songwriter or a guitarist, Neil Young has been one of the most influential and important artists of the rock era. Blending folk, country and rock, the acoustic and the electric, the melancholy and the hopeful, Young has been an icon for the uncompromising and unpredictable since the 1960s.

His self-titled 1968 solo debut album, following his exit from Buffalo Springfield, bridged what was and what would be. Although the eponymous release was his only album not to chart, it featured the classic track The Loner and marked the launching point of an illustrious solo career. Neil Young was followed by the three acknowledged masterpieces, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After the Gold Rush and Harvest.

    Psychedelic Pill

    Pressed at Pallas in Germany

Cut at Bernie Grundman's by Chris Bellman

The first album of original music from Neil Young and Crazy Horse in almost a decade, including over 85 minutes of music. Psychedelic Pill pokes down pathways that have been hinted at before in this teaming, but never fully explored. New textures emerge in the music, new landscapes in the lyrics. In many ways, Psychedelic Pill rounds out an array of probing works with prominent autobiographical threads.

    Bluenote Cafe

Recorded at various shows during Neil Young and Bluenote CafÉ's 1988 tour, this superb live set documents one of Neil's most funky and heartfelt periods, featuring 7 unreleased songs - Soul of a Woman, Bad News Comes to Town, Ain't it the Truth, I'm Goin', Crime of the Heart, Doghouse, Fool for Your Love, - and a searing 19+ minute version of the immortal Tonight's the Night at The Pier in New York City. It was a wild night.

One of the most influential artists of all time, Neil Young has set a standard of artistic integrity and iconoclastic creativity. Before starting his multi-platinum solo career, he was a founding member of the folk-rock band Buffalo Springfield and worked with the groups Crazy Horse and Crosby, Stills and Nash. The Canadian singer-songwriter was recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 for his work as a solo artist and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1982.

Young's philanthropic work is as renowned as his musical legacy. His famous Bridge School Benefit Concert has become a yearly tradition since 1986 and continues to boast an incredible line-up of high-profile artists. Each year, Young donates all of the proceeds to the Bay Area's Bridge School, which assists children with severe physical impairments and complex communication needs. He was also one of the original founders of Farm Aid in 1985, and continues to be an active member on the organization's board of directors.

    Live at Massey Hall 1971

In hindsight, Neil Young now admits that Live At Massey Hall should have come out between After the Gold Rush and Harvest. The legendary 1971 concert features a solo Young with just a guitar, a piano and a mic debuting what were mostly new songs at the time. I'm gonna sing mostly new songs tonight, Neil Young tells the rapt Massey Hall audience, I've written so many new ones that I can't think of anything else to do with them other than sing 'em. The sound quality is impeccable and the setting lends a profound intimacy to Young's voice and musicianship, making this an overall remarkable recording and a mystery that it wasn't released sooner. The acclaimed Toronto performance features brilliant takes on some of Young's most enduring classics including; Old Man, Cowgirl In The Sand, Ohio and a suite of A Man Needs A Maid and Heart Of Gold before they were recorded for Harvest. Tonight's The Night

By 1975 Young had written some of the most enduring anthems in rock history. But from the slow, tension-building piano opening of Tonight's the Night, he downshifts into darkness and Crazy Horse's folk-country melodies take on a guttural hum that would eventually speak to generations of punk and grunge musicians.

Inspired by the overdose deaths of two of Young's friends, roadie Bruce Berry and guitarist Danny Whitten, the title track (and its closing reprise) is a hypnotic cry of why? Even the relative party songs, Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown and Roll Another Number, fit the album's bus-to-nowhere resignation. -Steve Knopper

    Live At The Cellar Door

Mastered By Chris Bellman At Bernie Grundman Mastering And Pressed At Pallas In Germany

Neil Young will release Live At The Cellar Door, the latest in his Archives Performance Series, on Reprise Records. The album collects recordings made during Young's intimate six-show solo stand at The Cellar Door in Washington D.C. between November 30th and December 2nd, 1970, a few months after Reprise released his classic third solo album After The Gold Rush in August.

The album, which features Young performing on acoustic guitar and piano, includes tracks that are interesting for several reasons, such as stunning live versions of songs that appeared on After The Gold Rush (Tell Me Why, Only Love Can Break Your Heart, Birds, Don't Let It Bring You Down and the title track) and solo performances of the Buffalo Springfield songs Expecting To Fly (from their 1967 second album Buffalo Springfield Again), I Am A Child (from their third and final album Last Time Around and Young's 1977 Decade compilation), and Flying On The Ground Is Wrong, from their 1966 self-titled debut.

In addition, Live At The Cellar Door features early, raw performances of songs that wouldn't appear until subsequent Young albums, including the rarity Bad Fog Of Loneliness (which appears on Live At Massey Hall '71 - released in 2007-but was previously unreleased until the studio band version was included on Archives Vol. 1 1963-1972), Old Man (released two years later on 1972's Harvest album), a rare solo performance of Cinnamon Girl on piano (the full band version appears on Young's 1969 second solo album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere), and Down By The River, also from Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere.

Live At The Cellar Door was recorded by Henry Lewy and produced by Young.

    Americana

Don't spook the horse? Too late. Neil Young and one of the greatest garage-rock bands in history reunite on their first studio LP in nearly nine years on Americana, a charged set of familiar folk tunes and murder ballads brilliantly re-imagined by the tireless guitarist/provocateur and his able mates.

Young has never been predictable, and during a time when his adopted country is largely at a crossroads and dealing with issues related to economic disparity, political fallout, and social upheaval, the Canadian native upends everything on this salient statement, as contemporary as it is timeless. Long preoccupied with topics relating to freedom, justice, and common people, Young turns in what's one of his most salient and relevant reflections on these matters and more by turning to history and tradition.

Featuring standards such as Oh Susannah, Clementine, God Save the Queen, and Wayfarin' Stranger, the record takes aim at modern issues through the lens of tunes that were bonding agents and communal anthems in the past. Young and Crazy Horse assume a position that functions as a voice of America, speaking to a heritage while sounding alarm bells and wake-up calls to heed in our present. The collective performs Woody Guthrie's signature This Land Is Your Land with the original verses, restoring the song's biting verve and fearless intent.

Young's seriousness is reflected in the liner notes he penned to accompany each track. As always, the analog aficionado ensured optimal recording methods deliver stunningly lifelike dynamic sound on LP. Young, John Hanlon, and Mark Humphreys produced; John Hausmann, Jeff Pinn, and Hanlon engineered.

As a thematic bookend to Bruce Springsteen's recent Wrecking Ball, and yet another pertinent Young & Crazy Horse effort, Americana is a seminal collection that no music fan should be without.

    Earth

Neil Young will release a new album, entitled EARTH, on via Reprise Records. The album features performances of songs from a range of Young's albums, including last year's The Monsanto Years, 1990's Ragged Glory, and 1970's After the Gold Rush.

The audio was captured during Young's 2015 tour with The Promise of the Real, fronted by Lukas Nelson (vocals/guitar) and Micah Nelson (guitar, vocals) - Willie Nelson's sons. The tour included Young performing solo and with the band for a full electric show.

A new take on some of Young's most beloved songs, EARTH features the live recordings, along with a dded musical overdubs, as well as sounds of the earth, such as city sounds like car horns, sounds of insects, and animal sounds from bears, birds, crickets, bees, horses, cows - creating a very strange, yet beautiful atmosphere.

Ninety-eight uninterrupted minutes long, EARTH flows as a collection of 13 songs from throughout my life, songs I have written about living here on our planet together, says Young. Our animal kingdom is well represented in the audience as well, and the animals, insects, birds, and mammals actually take over the performances of the songs at times.

    On The Beach

On the Beach was Neil Young's first studio album after Harvest had transformed him into a mainstream superstar two years before. Less mournful but still haunting, the album is basically Young's rejection of rock stardom and what had become of the counterculture, covering a range of subjects, including Richard Nixon and Patty Hearst (the epic Ambulance Blues), his affair with actress Carrie Snodgrass (Motion Pictures), and, most famously, years before it became chic to do so, Charles Manson (the rocking Revolution Blues). Vampire Blues, meanwhile, seemed to be about all those topics, as well as Young himself. On the Beach would nevertheless eventually come to be reappraised as a rock culture masterpiece. -Bill Holdship

    West (Awaiting Repress)

Wooden Shjips, as it is today, started in 2006. The band self released a 10 and 7 that year and started playing shows shortly thereafter. Prior to 2006, Wooden Shjips was an experiment in primitive and minimalist rock. After it imploded, Ripley Johnson, guitar and vocals, assembled the current lineup of Dusty Jermier on bass, Nash Whalen on organ, and Omar Ahsanuddin on drums. West marks the first time the band recorded in a proper studio, as well as the first time with an engineer (Phil Manley). All previous recordings, either self-released, for Holy Mountain, or Mexican Summer were done more piecemeal in the bands rehearsal studio. West was recorded and mixed in six days at Lucky Cat Studios in San Francisco. It was mastered by Sonic Boom at Blanker Unisinn, Brooklyn, with additional mastering by Heba Kadry at The Lodge in New York.

The over riding theme for the album (as indicated by the title) is the American West, and all of the mythology, romanticism, and idealism that it embodies. The band members grew up on the East Coast, so for a long time the history and literature of the West was an abstraction and a fascination for them. Part of the allure of the West, which is part of the myth, is the concept of Manifest Destiny, the vastness, and the possibilities for reinvention, which is not to say that is what each song is specifically about, but it was very much an undercurrent during the songwriting of the album. The artwork also touches on the same theme by using an iconic structure that is both a gateway in a literal and metaphorical sense.

It is easy to see why these would appeal to Wooden Shjips, as their music lends itself to exploration. It is both transformative and transporting, the sum being far greater than its parts. The steady driving rhythms are the elliptical motion machine driven by the often thick and distorted guitar lines, melodic and boundless. Where they may lead cannot be anticipated but following them is exhilarating. It is all about getting there, the destination, while the experience of getting there is an adventure. It is the guitar lines that guide both the listener and the band on the literal and metaphorical journey into the vastness. The ghostly vocals, obscured by dense layers of instruments surrounding them, are alluring with their airy mystery. This elusive quality further draws the listener in, while they attempt to grasp at their meaning. While indebted to both the psych music of the 60s and mid-70s, electric Neil Young, and even the induced travels of Spacemen 3, the Wooden Shjips music is modern and in every way their own. West is an epic journey to the edge and beyond.

    A Treasure

    Live Album from 1984-85 Tour!

Includes Free Limited Time mp3 Digital Download of the entire album!

Experience this live, 12-track ablum which includes 6 previously unreleased track recorded with legendary band, The International Harvesters, while on tour in the US in 1984. This Limited-Edition Vinyl pressing is on 140 Gram Double-Disc Vinyl featuring special artwork etched into the fourth side.

Neil Young unearths this live country album recorded with the International Harvesters. The 12-track album includes songs recorded during their 1984-85 U.S. tour. Selections include Grey Riders and artists include the late Ben Keith on steel and slide guitar, Rufus Thibodeaux on fiddle, Spooner Oldham and Hargus Robbins on piano, Tim Drummond and Joe Allen on bass, Karl Himmel on drums, Anthony Crawford on guitar, banjo and mandolin among others!

The live album captures this iconic artist during a fascinating time in his career, when he was facing criticism and lawsuits from his then current record company for exploring a more traditionally country sound. You can call me erratic, Young said when asked at the time about his tendency toward musical shape-shifting, but Ive been consistent about it, consistently erratic. Always celebrated for his musical versatility, A Treasure, is akin to a sonic time capsule, instantly transporting the listener to the time and place when it was made.

I love this record. I hadn't heard these takes in 25 years, but when we unearthed them co-producer Ben Keith said, 'This is a treasure'. - Neil Young

    Peace Trail

Neil Young matches the fire in his belly to the poetry from his pen for one of the most gripping outings of his long career. This riveting collection, a spare acoustic-electric hybrid, seethes with righteous indignation over a plethora of social and political injustices, but also soothes with deeply felt empathy for those on the receiving end of iniquity. - Randy Lewis / Los Angeles Times

Peace Trail features all new songs that Young wrote since the release of his album EARTH, this past June. This new album is primarily acoustic and reflects an intimate, sparse approach to each of the ten songs within:

Peace Trail was recorded at Rick Rubin's Shangri-la Studios and features Young on vocals and guitar, Jim Keltner on drums, and Paul Bushnell on bass. It was produced by Young and John Hanlon, mixed by John Hanlon.

    Twelve Dreams Of Dr. Sardonicus

Spirit's 1970 classic Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus (produced by longtime Neil Young collaborator David Briggs) is widely acknowledged as the band's magnum opus. The fourth and final collaboration by the band's classic original lineup of Randy California, Jay Ferguson, Mark Andes, John Locke and Ed Cassidy, the 12-song set reflects the quintet's one-of-a-kind mix of talents and personalities. Spirit's unique musical vision is reflected in their trademark hit Nature's Way, which remains a staple of classic rock radio, along with such favorites as Prelude-Nothin' to Hide, Animal Zoo, Mr. Skin and Morning Will Come.

Out of print on vinyl for more than two decades, Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus has been meticulously restored to its original two-sided glory for this LP reissue, using Sundazed's usual exacting standards. The album is pressed on high-quality, high-definition vinyl, reproducing the album's distinctive original cover art.
