MOONLIGHT is the breathtaking soundtrack to the film Rolling Stone has called A Masterpiece. The album features the critically-acclaimed score by composer Nicholas Britell, as well as choice songs including Every N**r Is A Star by Boris Gardner, Cell Therapy by Goodie Mob and Hello Stranger by Barbra Lewis.

Nicholas Britell is an award-winning composer, pianist, and producer. In 2015, Britell scored Adam McKay's Oscar-nominated film THE BIG SHORT, and his music also featured prominently in Steve McQueen's Oscar-winning film 12 YEARS A SLAVE, for which he composed and arranged the on-camera music including the violin performances, spiritual songs, work songs, and dances. As a producer, Britell produced Damien Chazelle's short film WHIPLASH, and subsequently co-produced the Oscar-nominated feature film WHIPLASH.

Britell's emotional and evocative score to MOONLIGHT has resonated with audiences from early festival screenings, earning accolades from critics in their reviews of the film which underline how the music is wrapped into the very fabric of the film itself.

    Beat Group

Originally released in the U.S. in 1966, Beat Group! was the American cousin to the Hollies' British LP Would You Believe?. However, identical cousins they were not: Beat Group! boasts substantially altered musical content and completely different cover art. Led by the snap-jangle-pop of the smash single, I Cant Let Go, the album is a thrilling combination of originals and R&B covers ripped from their riotous live sets. Highlights include commanding versions of Buddy Holly's Take Your Time, Sam and Dave's I Take What I Want and the Otis Redding/O.V. Wright classic That's How Strong My Love Is. Original songs Hard Hard Year, Oriental Sadness and Fifi the Flea, along with Mersey Beat staples A Taste of Honey and Mr. Moonlight round out the disc.

Out of print for decades, this classic album is FINALLY available again. Sourced from the aurally awesome original U.K. mono master, this LP is pressed on pristine 180-gram vinyl per your turntables request. Get in the queue!

Perhaps the most undervalued band of the original British Invasion, The Hollies hits are well known in the U.S. but their early albums are almost impossible to find! Taking their name from Buddy Holly and modeling their harmonies on the Everly Brothers, the Hollies gathered these American musical ingredients and whipped them into a wholly-UKnique concoction. Forging their sound to the east of their Liverpool brothers-in-beat, this Manchester quintet had it all: the soaring vocals of Allan Clarke, Graham Nash and Tony Hicks; Hicks cascading, arpeggio-laden licks on guitar and a hard-hitting rhythm section driven by drummer extraordinaire Bobby Elliot. On top of that, their keen ears for top quality songs, written by the premier songsmiths of the day like teenage wunderkind Graham Gouldman, Chip Wild Thing Taylor and the stellar in-house writing team of Clarke/Hicks/Nash, ensured that their albums were extraordinary from start to finish. In short, they were a band that exuded greatness on all fronts. Now, as that greatness has been acknowledged by their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Sundazed Music is proud to present meticulously restored vinyl editions of the rare U.S. mono versions of the Hollies third and fourth Imperial label albums, from 1966.

    - ROLLING STONE

On his 2011 debut Will The Guns Come Out, Hanni El Khatib tried
    something he'd never tried before-making a bedroom-style
recording of his then stripped-to-the-skeleton guitar-and-drums
rock 'n' roll mostly for the sheer joy of making it. For his ferocious
2013 follow-up Head In The Dirt, he tried something new again,
showing up at producer Dan Auerbach's analog-dreamland
Nashville studio with nothing but the clothes on his back and an
    open mind.

But after Head In The Dirt's release and almost a year of relentless
touring, Hanni knew he needed to go past 'unpredictable' all the
way to 'unprecedented.' He needed isolation, time and the chance
to experiment. So after 30 days locked in hand-picked L.A. studio
The Lair, the result is the album Moonlight-the rarest and most
welcome kind of album, made at that perfect point in life where
confidence, experience, and technique unite to help an artist do
    anything they want.

That's why it starts with a song that sounds like a Mobb Deep beat
under a Suicide-style synth drone and ends with an
ESG-meets-LCD Soundsystem gone italo-disco song about life and
death. That's why it collides crushing crate-digger drumbeats
that'd be right at home on a Can LP or an Eddie Bo 45 with
bleeding distorto guitar, bent and broken barroom piano and
hallucinatory analog flourishes. (In fact, some smart producer is
going to sample the drums from this album and complete the circle
of life.) And that's also why Moonlight feels like the album he's
always wanted to make: "What would it sound like if RZA got in the
studio with Iggy Pop and Tom Waits?" he asks. "I don't know! That
    was my approach on everything."

It's a personal album in the most primal sense, put together in any
way that worked. Iggy Pop and David Bowie did this kind of thing
on The Idiot, the Wu-Tang Clan did it on 36 Chambers and the
Clash did it three times over on Sandinista. And now it's Hanni's
turn, across 11 new lightning-struck songs, each written and
recorded in its own flash of inspiration. It sounds like an album
made by an endless list of collaborators, but really Moonlight was
more like the first do-it-almost-all-yourself music Hanni ever made,
except after six years recording and touring, he'd learned to do so
    much more.

This 1965 album was another one of Sinatra's 'theme' albums, and a beautiful one at that. With Neslon Riddle's excellent arrangements, Moonlight Sinatra (get it?) features 10 beautifully performed songs that have the word 'moon' in their title ('Moonlight Becomes You', 'Moonlight Serenade', 'Oh, You Crazy Moon', etc). This is Sinatra as laid back and comfortable as possible, enjoying the romantic spirit of the songs.

Building on the momentum of 2001's critically acclaimed GIRLS CAN TELL, Spoon unveiled KILL THE MOONLIGHT the following year. Keeping things spare, yet surprisingly eclectic, is what elevates KILL THE MOONLIGHT above similarly conceived underground albums; this quality helped to make it one of 2002's most lauded indie-rock releases. Underwater Moonlight (Awaiting Repress)

Swarming hymns of 2nd generation psychedelic pop mastery, The Soft Boys' two most influential and groundbreaking albums are finally back in print via Yep Roc Records. Main man Robyn Hitchcock, along with demon guitarist Kimberley Rew, bassist Matthew Seligman and drummer Morris Windsor manage to bottle '60s guitar pop, shake it up with caged teenage fury and cut it all with a healthy dose of lyrical levity. A Can of Bees and Underwater Moonlight, seen as fatally un-hip when originally released would go on to be seen as seminal albums and become catalysts for '80s jangle pop and college rock, directly inspiring band's like R.E.M. and The Flaming Lips.

Live At The Moonlight Club (Pre-Order)

The Specials are an English 2 Tone and ska revival band formed in 1977 in Coventry. In 1980, the song Too Much Too Young, the lead track on their The Specials AKA Live! EP, reached No. 1 in the UK, with the unemployment-themed single Ghost Town also hit No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 1981.

on the cusp of the 80s. The live album contains reggae classics such as Toots & The Maytals 'Monkey Man' and The

What makes a record a true cult classic? First, it
must be released to a modicum of critical acclaim but zero commercial success. Second, in
almost all cases the artists behind the release
have to disappear immediately into obscurity.
And third, over the course of decades, a dedicated core of record collectors, critics and
true believers must spread the word about
the album in question. Well, by those standards, New York band Hackamore Brick's 1970 LP One
Kiss Leads to Another is the cult classic to end all cult classics (the
only recent contenders might be Rodriguez's albums Cold Fact and
Coming from Reality). Released on the bubblegum-centric Kama Sutra
label to positive reactions from critics ranging from Richard Meltzer to
Lenny Kaye, One Kiss sounded very different from anything else on the
label or, for that matter, anything else on the 1970 music scene; often
cited as the first post-Velvet Underground album, it does indeed provoke comparison's to VU's third, self-titled record and Loaded as well
as other descendants like the Modern Lovers and Television. But the
country-ish harmonies of vocalists Tommy Moonlight and Chick Newman lend the record a sound not unlike any number of current alternative "beard rock" bands plying their wares, and the discursive lyrics
    recall the Kinks.

In short, One Kiss Leads to Another passes the fourth
and hardest test of cult classic-dom, which is to remain relevant into
the present, even though Moonlight and Newman didn't record another
note together as Hackamore Brick until 2009. Real Gone Music is proud
to present this remarkable record on both vinyl and CD, with a bonus
track, the single side "Searchin'," appearing on both formats. Liner notes by Tony Rettman featuring quotes from Tommy Moonlight and pictures from the Hackamore

    Transference

Produced by the band, Transference is made up of 11 new gems that honor the Spoon tradition while pushing the envelope of the band's sound ever further. Before Destruction opens proceedings with a transfixing air of foreboding before Is Love Forever? and The Mystery Zone kick in the door with the hooks that the band has made its name on. Who Makes Your Money and first single Written In Reverse will be familiar to Spoon fans who witnessed the band playing prototypical live versions at select dates in 2008, as will Got Nuffin, the title track of the EP released by the band earlier this year.

Since the band's 1994 inception in Austin TX, Spoon has amassed one of the most loyal and steadily growing followings in indie rock, with classic albums like Telephono (1996), A Series of Sneaks (1998) Girls Can Tell (2001), Kill The Moonlight (2002) and Gimme Fiction (2005) each doubling their predecessors' sales.

    Ordinary Silence

It's been a busy year for Mixtapes. Almost a year ago to the day of the upcoming release for Ordinary Silence they made a splash with their debut full-length, Even On The Worst Nights, which quickly catapulted the band to the forefront of indie-punk as one of the most exciting bands to hit the scene in years. And now, only a short year later, the prolific band returns to crank up the volume for fans with a raw, heartfelt album that could prove to be their best yet.

Since their last release, Mixtapes spent time honing their songwriting on tour, and for the first time ever the band came together as one, all contributing to the writing process. Working again with producer/engineer Eric Tuffendsam at Moonlight Studios in Fairfield, OH, Mixtapes emerged from the studio in early 2013 with fourteen cohesive songs that maintain the band's signature sound while showing growth and maturity for a dynamic sounding album.

    Bad Reputation

That much rock & roll excess and that little sleep--it would be enough to ruffle anyone. Thus Thin Lizzy decamped to Canada to unwind from a year of incident and illness. There they produced Bad Reputation, which sounds, if not exactly laid-back, then at least damn smooth. Phil Lynott was confident enough to loosen Lizzy's atomic boogie and open his writing to jazz and folk influences, while the band, despite shifting membership, sound tighter than ever, playing with a new delicacy and thoughtfulness. Scott Gorham emerged here as a genuinely original guitarist, Tony Visconti's production sharpens the edges, and the title track, Southbound, and Dancing in the Moonlight are among Lizzy's best. --Taylor Parkes (Amazon)

High-Flyin' Surf Rock From Southern California on 180 Gram Vinyl!

drian Lloyd and his backing band The Sunsets were still teenagers when they recorded this highly-prized slab of pure California surf-rock. Long desired amongst collectors both for its brand of high-energy, drum-driven rock 'n' roll and for the crazy swirly vinyl it was pressed on, Breakthrough is a prime example of a genre that still excites fans of early '60s music. 40

Foreigner will celebrate 40 years as one of rock's most popular and enduring acts with a new career-spanning compilation titled 40 that features 23 hits from 40 years recorded between 1977 and 2017.

Following its self-titled debut in 1977, Foreigner went on to record some of rock's most enduring anthems - "Juke Box Hero" and "Hot Blooded" - as well as the #1 smash "I Want To Know What Love Is." The group has 10 multi-platinum albums to its credit and is one of the best-selling bands of all time, with worldwide sales in excess of 75 million.

40 brings together the best songs from Foreigner's nine studio albums, including all 16 of its Top 30 hits: "Feels Like The First Time," "Cold As Ice," "Waiting For A Girl Like You" and more. The collection features "Too Late" from the group's 2008 retrospective No End In Sight and "The Flame Still Burns," the title track from a vinyl EP released just last year. All prior recordings have been remastered.

The first LP covers Foreigner's first five albums: Foreigner (1977), Double Vision (1978), Head Games (1979), 4 (1981) and Agent Provocateur (1984). The 21 tracks include some the group's biggest hits ("Urgent" and "Feels Like The First Time") as well as deeper cuts like "Luanne." The second LP features songs from Inside Information (1987), Unusual Heat (1991), Mr. Moonlight (1994) and Can't Slow Down (2009), and features "Rain," "When It Comes to Love" and "Heart Turns To Stone."

    Burning Off Impurities

Portland's Grails return with their first studio album since 2004's Redlight. An increased interest in psychedelic, ambient, and world music is most likely to blame for the group's exploration of the lesser-traveled paths of modern music. In addition, their eclectic range of collaborative endeavors - guitarist Zak Riles is also in M. Ward's band, while drummer Emil Amos has moonlighted as Jandek's drummer - has introduced an element of improvisation and reinterpretation of ideas that's both brilliant and earnest.

    Gardens & Villa

In the year of the saxophone, Santa Barbaras Gardens & Villa give us the flute. And along the way, G&V effectively wipe clear the vaseline from the murky bedroom funk of recent days. G&V bang out instant classics, each crystal clear and immaculate, but no less sweeping or languid. Their debut is a youthful exploration of just how opulent and pop starkness can go. It also leaves an impression of California in the way that Richard Diebekorns Ocean Park series or the pool party scene from The Graduate both do, always sensed more than stated outright.

Gardens & Villa channel all the taut pop precisions of '90s Britpop of bands like Blur, and send it through an '80s synth filter both undeniably coastal and modern. Its Spoons Kill The Moonlight lost in a daydream, but with that same hungry energy. Gardens & Villa may simultaneously pull from Gary Numan, The Kinks and odder prog within one composition. And like a fine sweet tea, its made just that right kind of sugary, though even the most upbeat tunes have an undercurrent of the bittersweet and the lost at heart.

In 2010, Gardens & Villa traveled to Oregon to record their debut with visionary, vibemaster and labelmate Richard Swift. Together, they put some sand in the sheets of new wave (Black Hills) and pop some translucent funk (Orange Blossom). Theres also a level of effortless class maintained across the whole set. Each and every lush little gem explores the wonderful mystery between intuition and proficiency, between tension and repose. Gardens & Villa are Chris Lynch, Adam Rasmussen, Levi Hayden, Shane McKillop and Dusty Ineman.

    II: Void Worship

Wizards and warriors, rejoice, for the chosen one has returned! The Misery Wizard lives!

Since the early 2012 unveiling of their debut sonic behemoth MISERY WIZARD, fans and critics alike have patiently yet anxiously awaited the second chapter in the ongoing legacy of the almighty PILGRIM, a three-piece doom metal band from Rhode Island, USA.

Their first release shook the doom metal underground to its core, making a loud, in your face effort to bring doom metal back to its most minimalist and archaic roots, restoring it to its former glory. Their critical success, paired with their controversial interviews and emotionally draining live performances have lead PILGRIM to excellence, traversing the globe performing sold-out shows in multiple countries and playing festivals alongside some of the biggest names in their genre. Two years later, the fabled outfit has returned with a brand new record, the highly anticipated next installment of their aural adventure PILGRIM II: VOID WORSHIP.

PILGRIM returns more powerful than ever, wielding eight new epic tracks laden with tales of sword and sorcery, death, doom and destruction. Recorded at Moonlight Mile Recording by audio mastermind Mike Moebius, II: VOID WORSHIP delivers an absolutely unrivaled quality of tone and heaviness that many critics felt their original effort MISERY WIZARD had lacked. The band takes a new approach to their song writing, replacing meditated, repetitive hypnosis-inducing dirges with more calculated and demented powerhouse riffs. They build, shape, and climb into frenzied climaxes and fade into sweet sonic releases, molding perfectly crafted rock songs into twisting spires of evil doom metal masterpieces. It is obvious that PILGRIM has matured, both musically and as individuals, in their past two years of global conquest.

    Gimme Fiction (Deluxe Edition)

Remastered By Howie Weinberg from the Original Tapes, includes a Second Disc with 12 Previously Unreleased Demos, a Full-color Book Containing Photos and an Extensive Oral History of the making of the album. The Deluxe LP Package Will Also Include A 24" X 36" Poster.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Spoon classic, Merge will release a deluxe limited-edition version of Gimme Fiction on double-LP (180g). The reissue contains the album remastered by Howie Weinberg from the original tapes, a second disc with 12 previously unreleased demos from the era, nine additional bonus tracks via digital download, and a full-color book containing photos and an extensive oral history of the making of the album. The deluxe LP package will also include a 24" x 36" poster.

Gimme Fiction dragged the sonic pointillism of Kill the Moonlight further into dub-influenced weirdness as the increasingly confident Spoon went crazy in the studio, experimenting with everything from warped hip-hop samples to horse whinnies. How all this directionless Dylan worship and psychedelic goofing resulted in an album as sharply realized as Gimme Fiction is a testament solely to Spoon's self-assurance and tastefulness (and some hard work, and a bit of luck, etc.). Whatever digging or strange alchemy had to go into it, they only produced more gold. Gimme Fiction deserves special recognition because it's the album where Spoon-backed into a corner-took some crazy leaps, all of them forward. It's a "departure point" for a band that, lucky for us, has never made a real departure. And when it came time for a reissue, we knew it deserved a lasting place on vinyl, right alongside every other indispensable record in Spoon's discography.

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Since he began moonlighting from his main gig as
one-half of sci-fi prog powerhouse Zombi,
    multi-instrumentalist A.E. Paterra has become
increasingly renowned as the mastermind behind
Majeure. Following the assured debut epic, Timespan,
his second album, Solar Maximum, delivered on the
    promise of a retro-futurist ambient synth-rock

journey with two sprawling, side-long tracks that marry
the sci-fi disco of Timespan with the celestial
Mars-scapes of Solar Maximum. It is both a nod to
Majeure's prior accomplishments, and a peek into his
sunspot-bright future - fitting for an artist whose entire

and the future to create a transcendent present.
