After releasing the Venus & Mars 10 earlier this year, Jett Rebel stirred up the music scene in The Netherlands by playing numerous gigs on festivals like Lowlands and Pinkpop, and receiving several national awards for his musical artistry. It is safe to say, 23 year old Jelte Tuinstra is simply bound for stardom.
Debuting with 14 psychedelic, pure Pop songs, his first full-length album is called Hits For Kids. As Jett himself explains, Hits For Kids implies that it's something you don't expect. It fits the theme of the record; nothing is what it seems. Tuinstra himself calls Hits For Kids songs for free spirits. Songs for people that want and dare to be themselves. Jett (or Jelte) really tells a linear story with Hits For Kids. The 14 songs are interweaved into one listening experience, telling the story of his coming-of-age since the first moment of his breakthrough last year.
Everything on the album has been written, composed and played by himself: drums, bass, guitar, vocals, organ, accordion, synth, percussion, even flute & sax. Hits For Kids was mixed in London by Tony Platt, known for mixing Bob Marley, AC/DC and Foreigner. The album is mastered by Ray Staff, who also mastered Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Clash and Muse.

Linda Ronstadt's appeal crossed so many genre lines it's impossible to categorize her as anything other than a gifted vocalist. She enjoyed success on country and rock charts alike with a voice that capably handled the requirements of both styles. There was a commanding roughness to her you-did-me-wrong classic, You're No Good, that mixed both soul and R&B stylings into her vocals. In a similar vein, she handled the Motown standard, Heat Wave, like a pro, this time giving it the slightest hint of a country twang. She even rose to the occasion of covering Buddy Holly's That'll Be the Day. Rondstadt had some of her best moments with material that had a more emotional element, regardless of genre. Love Is a Rose and Tracks of My Tears are good examples of the disparate styles she could navigate with equal aplomb. Greatest Hits doesn't chronicle Rondstadt's hits past the mid-1970s, but is still worth owning, not only for the songs themselves, but as a point of reference in her career. --Steve Gdula1. Mighty Real: Greatest Dance HitsTwenty-five years after his untimely death at the age of 41, the iconic legacy of Sylvester, the "Queen of Disco," will be resurrected with "Mighty Real: Greatest Dance Hits," due out June 25 (international release dates vary) on Fantasy Records.
This collection will celebrate the life and music of the artist who once danced his way into the hearts and minds of the disco and LGBT communities.
A quarter of a century after his passing, Sylvester will make a fabulous debut back into a prolific time in the LGBT community just the way he would have liked it - through dance music. This 11-track release, available on CD and on double pink vinyl, will feature a number of original album tracks and 12" mixes that are rare or no longer available on CD, as well as the brand new remix of the iconic "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" by Grammy-nominated remixer and DJ, Ralphi Rosario (Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Madonna).
As a dear friend of Harvey Milk and an icon to the LGBT community, Sylvester has long held a special place in music and socio-political history. Sylvester was not only one of the first disco stars to stand openly gay, but bravely crossed beyond the boundaries of race, gender and sexuality to become a proud figure of the gay liberation movement.
"Sylvester James was an unlikely star: an androgynous, cross-dressing, openly gay, African-American, falsetto-singing, unapologetically flaming man-diva influenced primarily by church women, black blues singers, drag queens, hippies and homos," liner notes writer Joshua Gamson said. "Like very few before him, and quite a few after, Sylvester rode his marginality right into the mainstream."
A Los Angeles local, Sylvester found his home in the vibrant subcultural scenes of San Francisco in the late 1960s. As the community around him became devastated with AIDS, Sylvester's music took on a sort of weary determination, becoming a call to live, to keep dancing and to keep loving.
Sylvester died on Dec. 16, 1988 and bequeathed royalties from the sale of his music to benefit two charitable organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area: the AIDS Emergency Fund and Project Open Hand.
"Decades later, even as strides have been made in the fight against the disease that has taken so many lives, Sylvester's music lives on, a call to be fabulous against the odds," Gamson said.
"Mighty Real: Greatest Dance Hits" was produced by Tom Cartwright and Chris Clough on Fantasy Records with liner notes written by Gamson, author of "The Fabulous Sylvester: The Legend, The Music, The Seventies in San Francisco."

Hit ResetKathleen Hanna stealthily assembled the members of The Julie Ruin without any of them realizing exactly what was happening. It all began in late 2009. Kathleen had not released an album since Le Tigre's This Island (2004), and she was ready to jump back into music again. She knew her onetime Bikini Kill band mate Kathi Wilcox was going to be moving to New York in the near future, so she didn't even bother with finding a bass player at first. Carmine Covelli, who had toured with Le Tigre as their video guru, was having a blast at Kathleen's birthday party when she abruptly asked him to be the drummer.
A longtime admirer of Kathleen's work, Carmine couldn't say no to her at her own party, so of course he joined the band. Sara Landeau and Kathleen both taught at Girls Rock Camp and Kathleen lured her into the band by trading Pro Tools lessons for guitar lessons. Sara's surf-informed style gelled perfectly with Kathleen's sonic vision for her new band. Kathleen approached Kenny Mellman last with the idea that they should write country songs together to sell to other artists. Within a week of their first meeting, Kathleen's mysterious "manager" (whom Kenny maintains does not exist) told her that they would never break into the Nashville songwriting scene, so Kenny might as well join her new band on keyboards. Done.
In late 2014 they began work on their second album, Hit Reset, due out July 8th on Hardly Art records. Mixed by Eli Crews (with whom the band worked on Run Fast), Hit Reset expands on the band's established sound: dancier in spots and moodier in others, with girl group backing vocals and even a touching ballad closer. Hit Reset is the sound of a band who have found their sweet spot. Kathleen's vocals are empowered and her lyrics are as pointed and poignant as ever. From the chilling first lines of "Hit Reset"("Deer hooves hanging on the wall, shell casings in the closet hall") to the touching lines of "Calverton" ("Without you I might be numb, hiding in my apartment from everyone / Without you I'd take the fifth, or be on my death bed still full of wishes"), Hanna takes a leap into the personal not seen completely on the first album or possibly even in the rest of her work.1. Top Ten Hits Of The End Of The WorldIt's 2012, and Prince Rama has made the Top Ten Hits of the End of the World. Conceived as a pseudo-compilation album, the Brooklyn duo invented ten different pop bands that died during the apocalypse, channeling the ghosts of each one to perform the various songs. Spanning genres and stylistic eras from across the globe, Top Ten Hits explores pop music's relationship to memory, nostalgia, and the spirit world.
Incorporating influences as disparate as cosmic disco, motorcycle rock, new-wave, grunge, tribal goth, Arabic pop, and ghost-modern glam, Prince Rama filters each sound through the destroyed lens of a post-apocalyptic future looking back at the wonders of its sonic past. Tracking began with Tim Koh in Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's studio and was then completed and mixed with producer Scott Colburn (Animal Collective, Sun City Girls, Arcade Fire) at Gravelvoice in Seattle.
Top Ten Hits of the End of the World isn't just a pop album, it's a retrospective requiem of all pop albums ever made. Nothing like this has ever been attempted by a single band, and its residual echoes will continue to haunt this world and the next. LP comes with digital download card.1. Blade Of Austerity

The world is mourning the loss of rock and roll pioneer
Chuck Berry. The iconic guitarist, singer and songwriter
passed away Saturday at his home at the age of 90.
His impact on popular music cannot be underestimated.
John Lennon once commented: "If you tried to give rockand-
roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry,'".
Berry refined and developed rhythm and blues into the
major elements that made rock and roll distinctive. Writing
clever lyrics that focused on teen life and consumerism and
developing a signature style that included guitar solos and
showmanship, Berry was a major influence on subsequent
"One Dozen Berrys" was the second studio album by Berry,
released in 1958. "Rockin' at the Hops" was his fourth studio

Aqualung (Steven Wilson Mix)Gatefold LP featuring 24 page adapted booklet from the previous 2011 40th anniversary set.
After veering sharply from the blues inluences of their debut, This Was, Jethro Tull's sound quickly coalesced around jazz-tinged English folk influences and the antics of frontman/flautist Ian Anderson. But it was guitarist Martin Barre's swaggering riff off the title track of the band's fourth album that would become Tull's trademark--and the band's entrÉe into a long reign as arena-rock perennials. But there's a lot more to Aqualung than the riffage of that cut and its cousins, Cross-Eyed Mary and Locomotive Breath. In an era when pseudo-Christian spirituality was a de rigueur, if cheap, musical commodity (from the overblown operatics of Jesus Christ Superstar to one-hit pop wonders such as Spirit in the Sky and Put Your Hand in the Hand), Anderson and company openly challenged the value of organized religion with a thematic album savvy enough to layer its thought-provoking lyrics between heavy strata of FM-friendly guitar bedrock. A clichÉ, perhaps; a landmark, no doubt. And a record many maintain is still Tull's finest hour. --Jerry McCulley1. Aqualung

Full HouseFull House is the fourth studio album by Frankie Miller, released in 1977. A little more funky than most of his albums but overall, this is another fine batch of songs.
The Andy Fraser composition "Be Good to Yourself" was issued as a single, and reached No. 27 the UK singles chart, becoming Miller's first chart hit.
It features a mix of Miller originals and covers, including a version of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy". Of the five originals here, one was co-written by the man who discovered Miller (Robin Trower) and one of the songs was later covered by Lou Ann Barton.1. Be Good To Yourself

Forever (Box Set)
Limited Edition 4 LP Box Set
Includes Additional Bonus 12" Single Of William Orbit Mix Of "Let Me In Your Heart Again"
Having in the three months since its original release already provided Queen with their twenty fifth top ten album and twenty sixth UK gold album, Queen's current best selling compilation package Queen Forever is to receive a special limited edition vinyl release coming this spring.
The original 36 track 2 CD Queen Forever release will now be made available as a strictly limited 4 LP vinyl box set which includes an additional 12" single bonus disc exclusive to the set featuring a special William Orbit mix of the only recently heard Freddie Mercury track "Let Me In Your Heart Again".
The Orbit mix was held back from the Forever CD release and only surfaced for a limited period to support the Coca-Cola (RED) AIDS awareness campaign mounted at the tail end of last year.
The B side of the 12" single has a further bonus feature exclusive to this box set - a laser etching of the box set cover illustration.
Distinguishing itself as the first Queen album to feature new Freddie Mercury led tracks since the band's 1995 Made In Heaven album, Queen Forever brings out into the light the long anticipated track from Queen and Michael Jackson, 'There Must Be More to Life Than This', an unfinished Mercury-Queen track 'Let Me In Your Heart Again' originating from the band's The Works album recording sessions (featured on this vinyl package in a newly available William Orbit mix) and a new ballad version of Mercury's first solo hit, his Giorgio Moroder collaboration, 'Love Kills', which is currently being heavily played at UK and European radio.
The rest of the package mixes Queen hits, classic tracks and celebrates the extraordinary musical path of one of the world's greatest rock bands. Reaching back as far as 1974 with fan favourite Nevermore, a Freddie Mercury song originally included on Queen II, Queen Forever progresses to feature songs that spotlight the band's songwriting prowess, studio experimentation and remarkable development, and is completed with latter-day Queen hits, including '91's no. 1 These Are The Days Of Our Lives and '95's Too Much Love Will Kill You, together with the poignant A Winter's Tale, recorded during Freddie Mercury's final Queen recording sessions in Montreux in 1991.
Queen Forever is a thrilling showcase for exclusive new Queen recordings but equally as much a paean to the extraordinary musical achievements of John Deacon, Brian May, Roger Taylor and the late Freddie Mercury, whose singular talent we again get to marvel at through this meticulously presented 36 track collection.LP 1

Can't Get EnoughTwo time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Stephen Stills and five-time Grammy nominated guitarist, songwriter and singer Kenny Wayne Shepherd may be separated by a musical generation, but they are bonded by a mutual love of the blues. When they joined forces with famed Chicago rock/blues keyboardist Barry Goldberg and formed The Rides, their extraordinary collective histories proved to be unparalleled - blazing a 21st Century trail for the historical American art form.
Launching an exciting new chapter in each of their storied careers, the trio's new band is further powered by the explosive rhythm section of bassist Kevin McCormick and Shepherd's longtime drummer Chris Layton (also a veteran of the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble).
Their 429 Records debut, Can't Get Enough features the new single Don't Want Lies and showcases a hard hitting mix of Stills-Goldberg-Shepherd penned blues/rock originals as well as some classic blues tunes. Also included are brilliant interpretations of Muddy Waters, Honey Bee, Elmore James & Talk To Me Baby and blistering twists on Stills' favorite Neil Young anthem & Rockin' In The Free World as well as the Iggy Pop & The Stooges early 70s

HypnotizedDream Police is an American musical production by Nick Chiericozzi and Mark
Perro. The project began in 2010 as a reservoir for ideas which had overflowed
from The Men's drainpipe. In that same year, a two-song cassette single was self-released, with a follow-up live document in 2011.
In the summer of 2013, The Men had just come home from five straight months
of touring. For Perro and Chiericozzi, the desire to create was still strong, so they
did what they used to do when they first started the band - they started jamming.
Although the production began using the most conservative rock n' roll devices,
Chiericozzi suggested adding drum machine to the song "Pouring Rain," and everything changed. Over the next six months, the two Men and their collaborator
Kyle Keays-Hagerman spent countless hours reshaping every song, constructing
them from nothing. They obsessed over every tone, every part. They'd spend an
entire day on one snare crack.
The album slowly plumed into a cloud of future primitive psychedelia bursting with glimmering electronics and cinematic, vibrato storytelling. The result
of that process is Hypnotized: something borne from The Men, but free of it. It
was mixed the weekend after Tomorrow's Hits was released, and then Perro and
Chiericozzi were off again.1. Hypnotized
