100th Window is the fourth studio album from the Bristol-based trip-hop group Massive Attack. Of the band's original core trio, the album only features Robert Del Naja. Andrew Vowles departed shortly after the release of Mezzanine, and Grant Marshall refused to participate in the making of the record.

Originally released in February 2003, 100th Window was written and produced by Del Naja and Neil Davidge, and features vocals from Horace Andy, SinÉad O'Connor and Damon Albarn (performing as 2D). It is the first album by the band that made no use of samples, and contains none of the jazz or jazz fusion stylings of the Blue Lines or Protection recordings.

    Protection (Awaiting Repress)

Originally released on Virgin Records in 1994, Protection is the second album from the British DJ and trip-hop group Massive Attack, made up of Andrew Mushroom Vowles, Grant Daddy G Marshall and Robert 3D Del Naja. Fusing elements of American hip-hop, British club culture, dub, reggae and soul, and featuring guest spots from vocalist Tracey Thorn and rapper Tricky, Protection both reinforces and upgrades on the groundbreaking sounds of its predecessor. The adventurous 10-song set is bookended by the classic 7-minute plus title track opener and an uncharacteristic live cover of The Doors Light My Fire to close out the album.

I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss

Having recently signed to Nettwerk Music Group, SinÉad O'Connor prepares to release her 10th studio
album in a career spanning over twenty-five years. The newly titled album, I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss
will be released via Nettwerk Records.

Indicative of where SinÉad is in life the album is passionate and direct, yet with an overarching fragility; her
voice is as powerful as it is tender.

The album's title I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss was inspired by Lean In's Ban Bossy campaign from earlier
in the year. "Originally I had a different title, The Vishnu Room, but a few months back when I saw the phrase
'I'm not bossy, I'm the boss' and became aware of the Ban Bossy campaign, I wished I could re-name the
album since indeed it can be tricky being a female boss and I think Sheryl [Sandberg]'s campaign is a terribly
important one," explained O'Connor. "At the stage I became aware of the Ban Bossy campaign it was too late
to change the album title because the sleeve was already in print. But last week, when the record company
received the promo shots, which included the cover shot you now see, they asked could they change the
planned cover to the current one, and that allowed me the opportunity of changing the title. Very happy girl."
From her breakthrough hit, 1987's Mandinka, to the multi-platinum international success of 1990's I Do Not
Want What I Haven't Got with its number one version of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U," from her fearless
genre-crossing forays into Irish folk, and roots reggae to her collaborations with artists as diverse as Peter
Gabriel, Massive Attack and The Chieftains, O'Connor has trodden a unique path to become the one of the
most iconic female artist of the past three decades. There is no one like SinÉad O'Connor.

    XX

The XX arrive with their debut album XX, a whole new sound of love, loss and longing. The XX are a London quartet, featuring the dual lead vocals of Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim (who also play lead guitar and bass guitar), Baria Qureshi (keyboards and guitar) and Jamie Smith (beats, MPC sampler). These four twenty year olds are childhood friends who formed while attending southwest London's Elliot School, an academy whose alumni also includes such acclaimed boundary-pushers as Burial, Four Tet and Hot Chip. Bonding over a shared love of dark, emotive '80s guitar sounds and the high-end sheen of American R&B, The XX's unique sound befits a band whose wide range of influences include everything from Aaliyaah to Cocorosie, Rihanna to The Cure, Missy Elliot to The Chromatics and Mariah Carey to The Pixies.

In an effort not to draw too much distance from the DIY aesthetic of their early demos, which were recorded in their bedrooms, they recorded their debut album XX under no one's watch, other than engineer Rodaidh McDonald, at XL Recordings' west London in-house studio. The result is a wash of sexy, coy, and sparse rhythms and melodies the likes of Robert Smith, Massive Attack and The Streets.

Vinyl also die cut with bonus track cover of Hot Like Fire.

    Maxinquaye

Around the time Tricky emerged as a solo artist, independent of the Massive Attack collective, he was asked to describe his music. If you want to dance to it, go ahead. If you want to sit in a darkened room and let it fill your head with strange thoughts, that's fine too.

Trip Hop, a term Tricky soon grew to despise, has become so omnipresent over the years, that it's easy to forget how outside the mainstream it once was. Tricky's 1995 debut 'Maxinquaye' is one of those albums that brought the music to the forefront, entering the UK charts at #2 on its release despite a shocking lack of airplay, and ending up topping many, many year-end lists.

But despite its being a harbinger of one of the most prevalent music styles of the nineties, it exists outside of trends and time and still stands as a powerhouse of musical innovation almost twenty years on.

Vocalists Martina Topley-Bird and Goldfrapp work as modern day female Pied Pipers, luring you into Tricky's dark, menacing, haunting and overall disturbing world: a ghostly Hades painted in vivid imagery by Tricky's lisping and lilting flow on top of tantalizing beats.

    News of the World

If Day at the Races was a sleek, streamlined album, its 1977 successor, News of the World, was its polar opposite, an explosion of styles that didn't seem to hold to any particular center. It's front-loaded with two of Queen's biggest anthems -- the stomping, stadium-filling chant We Will Rock You and its triumphant companion, We Are the Champions -- which are quickly followed by the ferocious Sheer Heart Attack, a frenzied rocker that hits harder than anything on the album that shares its name (a remarkable achievement in itself). Three songs, three quick shifts in mood, but that's hardly the end of it. As the News rolls on, you're treated to the arch, campy crooning of My Melancholy Blues, a shticky blues shuffle in Sleeping on the Sidewalk, and breezy Latin rhythms on Who Needs You. Then there's the neo-disco of Fight from the Inside, which is eclipsed by the mechanical funk of Get Down, Make Love, a dirty grind that's stripped of sensuality. That cold streak on Get Down, Make Love runs through the album as a whole. Despite the explosion of sounds and rhythms, this album doesn't add up to party thanks to that slightly distancing chilly vibe that hangs over the album. Nevertheless, many of these songs work well on their own as entities, so there is plenty to savor here, especially from Brian May. Whether he's doing the strangely subdued eccentric English pop All Dead, All Dead or especially the majestic yet nimble rocker It's Late, he turns in work that gives this album some lightness, which it needs. And that's the reason News of the World was a monster hit despite its coldness -- when it works, it's massive, earth-shaking rock & roll, the sound of a band beginning to revel in its superstardom.

Something to Remember is Madonna's second greatest-hits collection, compiling a selection of the singer's ballads. Several of her biggest hits are included, including the number ones Crazy for You, Live to Tell, This Used to Be My Playground, and Take a Bow, as well as a handful of first-rate album tracks (a remixed Love Don't Live Here Anymore, Something to Remember, and three new tracks, most notably a version of Marvin Gaye's I Want You recorded with the British trip-hop group Massive Attack. Only two tracks on the album overlap with The Immaculate Collection, and the disc also marks the first appearance of This Used to Be My Playground and I'll Remember on one of Madonna's albums. Throughout the album, Madonna proves that she's a terrific singer whose voice has improved over the years. Not one of the tracks is second-rate, and the best songs on Something to Remember rank among the best pop music of the '80s and '90s.

    Phantom Limb

    Import

The Phantom Limb's sound is an indefinable blend of classic southern soul and country blues. They blend modern songwriting and rich acoustic music with powerful gospel-inflected vocals. Already comparisons are being made to Mavis Staples, Aretha Franklin and The Band. Their honest, melancholic, Bristolian edge creates one of the most original and compelling new propositions of recent years. The group is epitomised by the fantastically bold yet intimately soulful vocals of the 23-year old Yolanda Quarty who also provided vocals on half of Massive Attacks forthcoming album, the majority of which was incidentally co-written and produced by Robot Club (Phantom Limbs guitarist Stew Jackson and bassist Dan Brown). Phantom Limb's self-titled debut album was the brainchild of the Robot Club production team, whose recent writing/production credits also include Will Young, Skin (Skunk Anansie) and Fortune Drive. The album was recorded at their very own Robot Club Studios (Bristol) as well as Rockfields Studio (Monmouth) and Caveman Studios (Bristol). The album was mastered and cut for vinyl at Optimum Studios, Bristol by Shawn Joseph and Timothy Dennen.

The six-pieces unique sound has made an instant ascension within the industry. In March of 2008 they played the famous SXSW in Austin, Texas, which led to countless festival offers including Glastonburys Jazz World Stage in June 2008 and a record deal with Naim Edge! The bands line-up represents the pick off Bristols vibrant, almost incestuous music scene, including Dan Moore on keys (Elevator Suite/Cousteau/Andy Sheppard), Matt Jones on drums (Nuge/Emily Breeze), Luke Cawthra on lead guitar (Emily Breeze/Lena Rez/Nuge), alongside Yolanda Q (Bugs In The Attic), Stew (Milk with Ian Matthews, now of Kasabian) and Dan B (Ilya/Elevator Suite).

    Under The Skin Soundtrack

    An eerie, anxiety-provoking electronic work
that is extremely accomplished in its own right.
    - Todd McCarthy, Hollywood Reporter

Jonathan Glazer, known for Sexy Beast and Birth and his music videos
for Radiohead, Massive Attack, Jamiroquai etc., is back with his latest
    film, Under the Skin.

Based on the novel by Michael Faber, Under the Skin follows the
journey of a voluptuous woman (Scarlett Johansson) of unknown origin
combing the highway in search of isolated or forsaken men. They are
seduced, stripped of their humanity, and never heard from again.
Premiere at the Toronto Film Festival last fall, the film has been very
well-reviewed by audiences and critics alike. It receives 88% Fresh on
    Rotten Tomatoes.

The music, which plays a critical role in the film and has been
mentioned numerous times in reviews, is by British-born Mica Levi,
known by her stage name Micachu. She is best known for her band
Micachu & The Shapes and for experimental music in a variety of
genres. Her electronic beat is the perfect companion to this hauntingly
    beautiful and stylized picture.

    Slo Light

'Davidge's ability to seamlessly blend a variety of music styles spiced with
his signature sounds and moods is truly a future of cinematic scores'
    - Lithium Magazine

Slo Light' is the stunning debut album by Davidge, AKA award-winning
producer/musician Neil Davidge, renowned previously for his production,
co-writing and sonic-sculpting of music for Massive Attack, David Bowie,
Snoop Dog, Damon Albarn, Primal Scream, Elizabeth Fraser and Mos Def,
plus the hugely successful Halo 4 game score and soundtrack.

An album deeply-schooled in Bristol beats, electronica, soundtracks,
orchestral music and more, 'Slo Light' creates a fantasy world in which
tension, darkness and beauty find the perfect equilibrium. The album is
sky-high on production value, with an unparalleled clarity and sonic depth
    typical of Davidge's unique sound.

Slaves To The Grave (Awaiting Repress)

Slaves to the Grave is the last will and testament of the Dallas/Ft Worth band who influenced artists from Nine Inch Nails to Slipknot, and features members of GWAR, Ministry, Warbeast, Revolting Cocks and Lard. Fated for release, the recording sessions wrapped just days before the tragic loss of guitarist Mike Scaccia, who suffered a massive heart attack and collapsed while performing on stage. Rigor Mortis hit the national scene in 1987 as the first underground Heavy Metal band to sign to a major label. Their 1988 debut record, RIGOR MORTIS (Capitol), has since become legendary in the thrash/speed metal community, influencing bands like Toxic Holocaust and Goatwhore, and motivating Ministry to leave the disco for the Metal arena. Ministry would, in turn, influence everything from Nine Inch Nails to Marilyn Manson and Slipknot. The members would remain friends through thick and thin throughout the years, and in 2012 the pieces finally came together. Rigor Mortis entered the studio to record what was to be their comeback record. Older, wiser and good with their personal lives Rigor Mortis had finally come full circle. Then, on December 22nd, 2012, it all came to a halt. While playing their home town club in Ft. Worth in celebration of singer Bruce Corbitt's 50th birthday, midway through the set Mike Scaccia suffered a massive heart attack and collapsed on stage. He could not be revived and was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. Rigor Mortis was over. Though never discussed, all knew there was no Rigor Mortis without Mike, but the album was recorded and almost finished. As fate would have it, just days before he died Mike went into the studio and put the finishing touches on all of his parts, effectively enabling the guys to finish the record, knowing that Scaccia was happy with it. They endeavored every step of the way to do justice to the Rigor Mortis legacy, and bring honor to Mike Scaccia's last recorded testament. We think he would be proud.

    To Dust

To Dust will be the first solo album from Alice Russell since 2008's Pot Of Cold, and marks the next step forward in a remarkable career. Whether on a big stage with her 16-piece band, charming a crowd of 4000 into staying out dancing in the rain (as she did at Montreal Jazz Festival) or rocking out an intimate club with a stripped-down six piece, Alice's natural talent and charisma have always commanded attention and affection. Unfazed by taking to the spotlight after a sober Amy Winehouse or joining Roy Ayers live for Everybody Love The Sunshine, it is no wonder she has attracted worldwide media support, and praise from fans as diverse as Gilles Peterson, David Byrne, Dennis Coffey, Massive Attack's Daddy G, and Groove Armada.

    Extra Virgin

First Pressing Of 750 Numbered Copies On Blue Vinyl

    4-Page Booklet Included

Includes Bonus Track You're Not Alone

Extra Virgin was the first release for British Trip Hop band Olive, released in 1996. This album defined Olive's style, spawning three singles, You're Not Alone, Outlaw, and Miracle. The Trip Hop influence of Massive Attack and Portishead, while in small quantities, are evident, mixed in with synth-based electronic dance.

A year after its initial release, Olive's debut album Extra Virgin produced a number one British hit with You're Not Alone, a low-key Trip-Hop number with a graceful melody. It's a strong single, and there are similarly strong moments on Extra Virgin.

The band created some samples by recording live sounds, edited and subsequently filtered. Synthesizers used on the album were a Roland Juno-60, an E-mu Systems Vintage Keys, and an Akai S3000XL sampler. All in all this makes for an organic, trippy experience.

    City Life

City Life, arguably The Blackbyrds' best album, hit #1 on the Billboard Jazz Chart and #3 on the Billboard Soul Chart upon its original release in 1975.
Produced by legendary jazz trumpeter Donald Byrd, the album showcases The Blackbyrd's' unique jazz-funk crossover sound and includes the runaway
hits Happy Music and Rock Creek Park, which stand even today as pinnacles of the '70s jazz-funk movement. A testament to its lasting appeal, Rock
Creek Park from the City Life album has been sampled numerous times by groups such as De La Soul, Eric B. & Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, N.W.A,
Massive Attack, Ice Cube, Heavy D, Nas and Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Tone Loc and most recently, Wiz Khalifa. This often-sublime album
is primed for rediscovery by fans of '70s funk, soul, jazz and fusion.
