    Greatest Hits

In the fall of 1976 The Marshall Tucker Band went to the UK and Europe for their only tour so far in those territories. The tour featured Bonnie Bramlett and Grinders Switch as support acts. The band was red hot in America and the time was right to spread the word to other countries. Founding member and lead singer Doug Gray remembers We didn't know what to expect but from the people at the hotel to the crew at the Hammersmith Odeon and finally the sold out crowd all made us feel so welcome we couldn't believe it. It was the same in Scotland with a different accent. When the label and band decided to release the new version of Greatest Hits on vinyl, they had the space to include these three live tracks, recorded in Glasgow, Scotland, and London, England, which have never before been released.

    Marshall Mathers

Ranked 302/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Eminem's masterful second record has the chops and the credentials to go along with it. The Marshall Mathers LP won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, The Real Slim Shady won the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance and the record was also nominated for the Grammy for Album Of The Year. Expanding upon his debut, Eminem's follow-up is both funnier and darker than his debut and the production is nearly as evocative as the raps, with liquid basslines, stuttering rhythms, slight sound effects and spacious soundscapes. Reissued here on Double Vinyl LP by Universal Records.

After singer Robert Gordon recorded three of his tunes, Crenshaw was signed by Warner Brothers and this, his self titled debut album was released in 1982. It was immediately lauded as a pop masterpiece and Crenshaw was recognized as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. With roots in classic Soul, British Invasion and Rockabilly, Detroit native Marshall Crenshaw has forged a very original and melodic form of crafting songs over the past 35 plus years in the music business. In the early days, Marshall was compared to Buddy Holly often, due in part to his portrayal of the doomed rock icon in the 1987 film, La Bamba."Although he was seen as a latter-day Buddy Holly at the outset, He soon proved too talented and original to be anyone but himself "-Quote from The Trouser Press.

In addition to his original songs, that have been covered over the years by notable artists such as Ronnie Spector, Robert Gordon, the Gin Blossoms, America, Freedy Johnston, Bette Midler, Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs to name a few, Marshall is an accomplished guitarist with a very jazz-oriented style of playing. Marshall launched his original trio in New York with his brother Robert on drums and Chris Donato on bass, recording "Something's Gonna Happen" for Alan Betrock's Shake Records in 1981.Soon afterwards, the trio was signed to Warner Bros. Records and his debut album, simply titled "Marshall Crenshaw," was released in 1982 and included his biggest hit, "Someday Someway." Robert Gordon took the song to #76 in 1981 and Crenshaw's own version made #36 in 82. It would be Marshall's only solo Billboard Top 40 Pop hit. On the Cash Box magazine chart the song went to #31 and reached #25 on Billboard's Rock Tracks. The song, 'Til I Hear It From You," sung by the Gin Blossoms and co-written by Marshall , reached #11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1996.

Despite his 4 subsequent WB studio albums not including hits, Marshall continued to record in the 1990s and 2000s. "Better Back Off" from the MCA album, "Life's Too Short," reached #17 on Billboard's Alternative Songs Chart. In the 2000s Marshall played guitar as a guest of the reunited MC5, growing up a fan of the band in Detroit. He penned the title track from the 2007 film, "Walk Hard" starring John C Reilly, with the song being nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song in a movie. In 2011 he began hosting a radio show called The Bottomless Pit on WFUV in New York, featuring his vast collection of music.

Although Marshall has released many live albums throughout his career, this newly discovered unreleased performance found in Warner Music's vault was recorded while he was touring in support of his debut release in 1982 and includes several songs seeing their first release on any format. Co-produced by Marshall, who supplied rare photographs and liner notes and mixed by Chris Stamey, this lovingly packaged live document provides a unique snapshot back to Marshall's formative years as an artist and would fill a hole in his recorded live legacy.

    Driving And Dreaming

Exclusive 10 Inch, 45 RPM Vinyl

Born near Detroit, Michigan, Marshall Crenshaw began playing guitar at age ten and he received his first break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of Beatlemania. In 1987, he played Buddy Holly in the Richie Valens biopic "La Bamba." While living in NYC, he recorded the single "Something's Gonna Happen" for Alan Betrock's Shake Records, which led to a deal with Warner Bros. His debut album, Marshall Crenshaw was acclaimed as a pop masterpiece upon its release in 1982 and established him as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. The record spawned the Top 40 single "Someday, Someway," which rockabilly singer Robert Gordon covered and scored a hit with a year earlier, and other classics such as "(You're My) Favorite Waste of Time," "Whenever You're On My Mind" and "Cynical Girl." The great songs continued with the Life's Too Short album on MCA ("Fantastic Planet of Love"), three albums for Razor & Tie and the 2009 release Jaggedland ("Someone Told Me," "Passing Through," "Never Coming Down

"His intelligence, integrity, and passion for the great song always show up in his music," wrote Robert Christgau in his Consumer Guide of Marshall Crenshaw. Over a span of 30 years, Crenshaw has released 13 albums, all of which have received the highest marks from critics and have earned him a fiercely loyal fan base.

"I wanted to think of a different way of working that would inspire me and keep me motivated," Marshall Crenshaw says of his newest endeavor: a subscription-only service that addresses the recent seismic changes in the music-industry landscape by cutting out the record-company middle man to distribute his new recordings directly to fans.

The subscription service, which the veteran singer/guitarist/songwriter/producer recently launched via a successful Kickstarter funding campaign, will provide fans with a steady stream of new Marshall Crenshaw music via a series of exclusive three-song 10-inch, 45-rpm vinyl EPs , six of which the artist plans to release over a two-year period.

Each EP will consist entirely of newly recorded, never-before-released material, encompassing a new original Crenshaw composition, a classic cover tune, and a new reworking of a time-honored favorite.

"I really do think that vinyl sounds best, and that playing a vinyl record is still the optimum listening experience," Crenshaw asserts. "And with the sound quality that you get at 45 rpm, I think that these things are going to deliver the goods, sonically."

    Stranger And Stranger

A quote from Trouser Press sums up Marshall Crenshaw's early career: "Although he was seen as a latter-day Buddy Holly at the outset, he soon proved too talented and original to be anyone but himself." All Music Guide captured Crenshaw's vibe perfectly: "He writes songs that are melodic, hooky and emotionally true, and he sings and plays them with an honesty and force that still finds room for humor without venom."

100% Analog Mastering from the ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES by Kevin Gray @ Cohearent Audio

Ultra-Quiet 180-Gram Vinyl Pressed At RTI

Beautiful Old-Style Gatefold Printed by Stoughton

Intervention Records and Marshall Crenshaw are thrilled to announce the relaunch of Marshall's amazing sophomore effort FIELD DAY on premium 180-gram vinyl as an EXPANDED EDITION double album set! The Field Day relaunch features ALL-NEW cover art conceived by Crenshaw, and the expanded edition for the first time combines Field Day's original repertoire with a second album comprised of the US Remix EP. Available in the US for the very first time this 12 45 rpm EP features remixes of several of Field Day's best tunes, including Our Town, For Her Love and a rip-roarin' live cover of Little Sister.

Produced by Steve Lilywhite, Field Day is Crenshaw at his power-pop best, with addictive hooks, heart-tugging lyrics, and beautiful melodies.

Field Day and the US Remix EP are mastered 100% Analog by CoHEARent Audio's Kevin Gray directly from the original analog master tapes! Both 12 records are pressed on dead-quiet 180-Gram vinyl at RTI.

At Marshall Crenshaw's direction, Field Day's front cover art is taken not from the original LP, but from the 7 single for the Field Day's hit Whenever You're On My Mind. Never comfortable with the original cover art, Crenshaw is delighted at this change in art direction, implemented by IR's extraordinary artist Tom Vadakan. The original inner sleeve art and lyrics are expanded into a gorgeous Old-Style gatefold printed by Stoughton on heavy stock and film laminated.

Crenshaw's music still pops with the same rootsy authority as it did back when record albums were the preferred delivery system of rock 'n' roll and a tweet was a tweet. - The Huffington Post
