    Complete Madness

Limited Edition 180 Gram Red Vinyl Reissue

The 16-track collection The Complete Madness compiles all of the group's early singles -- from The Prince to House of Fun -- and adds a handful of classic album tracks and concert favorites like In the City, Bed and Breakfast Man, and Madness. It's thorough and thoroughly entertaining, encapsulating exactly why Madness were significant and, more importantly, how much fun their nutty sound was. Furthermore, The Complete Madness isn't just an introduction -- since it contains a wealth of non-LP singles like Cardiac Arrest and House of Fun, it's essential for any Madness collectors, and definitive proof that Madness were one of the great singles acts of their era. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

    One Step Beyond

One Step Beyond... is the 1979 debut album by the British ska group Madness. It was ranked 90th in a 2005 survey held by British television's Channel 4 to determine the 100 greatest albums of all time.

The album peaked at number 2 and remained in the UK Albums Chart for over a year.

It was the first album produced by the team of Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley, who would go on to work with artists such as Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Morrissey, Dexys Midnight Runners and They Might Be Giants, as well as producing all but one of Madness' subsequent albums.

The title track, released as a single, was originally written and recorded by the Jamaican ska musician Prince Buster. The spoken line, Don't watch that, watch this in the intro is from another Prince Buster song, The Scorcher.
It was their second single after The Prince which was a tribute song to this musician.

Can't Touch Us Now (On Sale)

Four years on from the release of their Top 10 US album, Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da, Madness return with Can't Touch Us Now. The Album's release sees the Nutty Boys in full flow with a collection of songs that stands alongside the best of their unique takes on modern life.

A typically eclectic collection (the group has long mastered the art of making disparate influences work under their knack for writing catchy pop hooks), Can't Touch Us Now was recorded at London's iconic Toe Rag Studio - a fitting venue for one of the English capital's most iconic bands. Co-produced by Grammy-winning producer Liam Watson (The White Stripes' Elephant) and the band's long-time boards-man, Clive Langer, Can't Touch Us Now was recorded in just three weeks and boasts characteristically wry observations on life, with songs the likes of 'Mr. Apples', 'Blackbird', 'Mumbo Jumbo' and the title track.

Part of Madness' brilliance lies in their ability to take situations specific to their environment and make them universally relatable: 'It Must Be Love', 'Embarrassment' and 'Tomorrow's Just Another Day' all resonate with a worldliness that fans from all over the globe have related to - and that's no surprise, given that the band themselves have looked beyond England, to Jamaica, for a large part of their musical inspiration. With the songs on Can't Touch Us Now road-hardened during a string of summer festival appearances, it seems that the album is set to, once again, remind fans that the self-proclaimed Nutty Boys are one of the finest, most erudite pop outfits that the world has seen.

    Mad Max: Fury Road

From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary Mad Max franchise, comes Mad Max: Fury Road, a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. An apocalyptic story set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and almost everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.

Within this world exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order. There's Max, a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa, a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

The film's epic score is written by Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL, a Grammy nominated and multi-Platinum producer, musician, and composer. Junkie XL's versatility puts him on the cutting edge of contemporary music, as well as in the vanguard of exciting new film composers. He is able to draw on his extensive knowledge of Classical forms and structures while keeping one finger planted firmly on the pulse of popular music. When this eclectic background is paired with his skill as a multi-instrumentalist (he plays keyboards, guitar, drums, violin, and bass) and mastery of studio technology, a portrait emerges of an artist for whom anything is possible.

    Tenor Madness

By the time this LP was released, Sonny Rollins already had such albums under his name as Worktime (OJCCD-007-2) and Sonny Rollins Plus 4 (OJCCD-243-2), in addition to his sideman exploits with the Clifford Brown/Max Roach Quintet. Tenor Madness, in which he was joined by the rhythm section from the Miles Davis Quintet, further substantiated and underlined his rapidly rising stature. The material is an effective mixture of Rollins' playing attitudes with an intriguing original, Paul's Pal, and the mining of unusual material such as My Reverie and The Most Beautiful Girl in the World. And, of course, there is the celebrated title track featuring the two titans to emerge in the '50s, Rollins and his guest, visiting in the studio that day, John Coltrane.

    Tenor Madness (Mono)

1956's Tenor Madness was officially the recording that established Sonny Rollins as one of jazz's elite tenor saxophonists and it stands alongside Saxophone Collossus as one of his masterworks. The fact that he enlists the talents of Miles Davis' then rhythm section of Red Garland (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Philly Joe Jones for the date certainly doesn't hurt matters either. John Coltrane, who was also in Davis' group at the time, is notably featured here on the legendary title track, his only recording with Rollins.

    Method To My Madness

    180 Gram Blue Colored Vinyl

On 2014's The Devil You Know, California bluesman Tommy Castro pared his band back to a quartet called the Painkillers and returned his guitar playing and singing to the forefront of his attack. Though the album was chock-full of guest stars, its arrangements were largely uncluttered - no horns, strings, or other gimmickry. Method to My Madness strips back the veneer even further. The tightrope of energy, grit, and inspiration on display in these 12 tunes - ten originals and two excellent covers - are usually reserved for live shows. For the first time, Castro has produced an album by himself. Recorded at Ari Rios' Laughing Tiger Studio in San Francisco, he and the Painkillers - bassist Randy McDonald, keyboardist Michael Emerson, and drummer Bowen Brown - cut the music live from the floor with minimal overdubs.

Much has been made of Castro's vocal style being influenced by the singers from the vintage Stax/Volt era. While that's somewhat true, Method to My Madness reveals, perhaps for the first time, an even deeper debt to funky soul and country-blues singer Delbert McClinton. Common Ground is a swaggering gospel-tinged soul blues. The melody and choral refrain nod at Sly Stone, but Castro lets his McClinton flag fly with a gritty delivery atop a cracking snare and driving Wurlitzer groove.

Shine a Light is dirtier; it's a razor-wire, rocking soul-blues with double-timed drumming, bumping bassline, and killer slide guitar and B-3 work, with great backing vocals from Rios and Amber Morris adding gospel fuel to the fire. The title track is a wrangling guitar-driven boogie, where funky rock meets the 12-bar blues head on. Castro testifies in his delivery, leaving no room for doubt about his intentions and attitude. While Lose Lose is a simmering Stormy Monday-esque deep blues, its proceeding tune, Died and Gone to Heaven, is a swelling, souled-out, rousing, gospel-tinged love song.

    Dance Mania: Ghetto Madness

Strut return to the archives of seminal Chicago house label Dance Mania in January 2015 for 'Dance Mania: Ghetto Madness'. The follow-up to Strut's acclaimed Dance Mania label retrospective 'Hardcore Traxx' from early 2014, this new installment places the spotlight on the raw, stripped back, hyper bpms of ghetto house and the rise of the movement's fresh generation of stars during the mid' 90's including DJ Deeon, DJ Funk, Jammin' Gerald and DJ Milton. The album tells the story of the evolution of Chicago's sound during the era as mix tapes circulated through local stores and DJs developed their own underground following, playing local parties in the projects. Crowds began responding to faster bpms and gangsta rap-inspired X-rated lyrics. As DJ Deeon remembers, "it bridged the gap. It made it OK for guys in the ghetto to like house again and it brought the women onto the dance floor too." Dance Mania was perfectly positioned to capitalise on the new sound - many of the DJ's came regularly into Ray Barney's record store and, as Chicago's most trusted and respected label owner, he was offered the best tracks for commercial release at an early stage. 'Ghetto Madness' brings together some of the underground classics and enduring favourites that earned Dance Mania the title of 'Ghetto House's Motown'. Tracks include DJ Deeon's party-starter 'The Freaks', raw DJ Funk cut 'Computer Sex' and Nina Kraviz favourite, Paul Johnson's 'Give Me Ecstacy'. Other featured gems from the archive include the dark early Steve Poindexter outing 'Computer Madness' and Tyree's in-demand jam, 'Nuthin' Wrong'.

    The Mouths Of Madness

Taking into consideration that the Californian quintet had obviously already found its formula for success, one could have expected them to play save by fully maintaining the first record's course. However, when giving ORCHID's sophomore release "The Mouths Of Madness" a spin for the first time, one will immediately realize that it embodies anything but stagnation! "The new tracks sound much more direct - the tunes are of a higher quality, somehow more on the spot, which can be traced back to the fact that we've all become better musicians", guitarist Mark Thomas Baker states. "Plus there's an increased amount of psychedelic parts that we weren't able to show as much before, while the use of synthesizers was decreased, compared to »Capricorn«". The instrumental recordings, split into two separate sessions, were done in Hyde Street Studios, San Francisco (DEAD KENNEDYS, MR. BUNGLE, JOE SATRIANI, EXODUS) as well as in Laughing Tiger Studios, San Rafael (SANTANA, SAMMY HAGAR), before long-time producer and engineer Will Storkson and his home studio came into play, where the vocals were tracked. Carrying their 70's-doom-hard-rock vibe to a new level of intensity and adding new facets to the work of art, ORCHID haves succeeded in staying true to their roots while refining their trademark sound at the same time. Or, as the press puts it: "The true heir of BLACK SABBATH!" (Rock Hard Italy)

    Can I Play With Madness

BMG and INgrooves Music Group will follow the 2012/13 IRON MAIDEN vinyl picture disc reissues of the first eight Iron Maiden albums, which spanned the 1980s, with brand new pressings of the albums in heavyweight 180g black vinyl in the United States.

In conjunction with these premium album releases, a strictly limited one-off run of the 7'' singles from each respective album will be made available. These highly collectable black vinyl singles will be cut from the original UK analogue master tapes. Released in replica artwork packaging, this will be the first time ever that these black vinyl singles have officially been made available in the U.S. and sure to become a must-have item for fans, collectors and anyone who missed out first time round.

The release of these high quality, black vinyl records offers optimum choice to fans who would like to own a piece of Maiden's authentic 1980's vinyl sound, or for those simply wanting to rediscover this much loved, iconic format. Coupled with the end of the Maiden England World Tour which began in North America in 2012 and finished last month at Knebworth Park's Sonisphere Festival in the UK, this now completes Maiden's 1980's touring and catalogue reissues cycle, so the band are free to focus on their dynamic future plans.

    Mad River

By far the most ominous-sounding of the Bay Areas 1960s psychedelic bands, the music of Berkeleys Mad River comes across like a spiraling, acid-spiked descent into hell. With a raw, garagey style marked by Lawrence Hammonds quavering vocals and the interlocking exchanges of guitarists David Robinson and Rick Bockner, Mad Rivers sound conjures a darker, more menacing version of Quicksilver Messenger Service or early Country Joe and The Fish. No wonder the quintets self-titled 1968 debut has long been at the top of many collectors want lists. Mad Rivers tabs of tortured soulcuts like the lysergic opening rush of Merciful Monks, the lengthy, labyrinthine The War Goes On, and the truly demented Amphetamine Gazelleadd up to one cathartic ride, a ride that psych-heads will be tripping all over themselves to take again and again. Sundazeds exact reproduction of this lost classic is sourced directly from the original Capitol Records stereo masters.

Love In A Time Of Madness

JosÉ James is reborn as a powerful voice in contemporary R&B on his vibrant new album Love In A Time of Madness. Madness is something new: an R&B focused foray into moody soul, electronic pop, and trap-addled beats, with the occasional influence of American gospel and Minneapolitan funk. And though James' ear is no less adventurous, this is also his most relatable, daresay sexiest work yet.
