2 Gatefold Colored LPs - Remastered

"If it's possible to pick a "definitive" HIM album, Love Metal would certainly qualify. Recorded in the autumn of 2002 at Helsinki's Finnvox studios with producer/engineer Hiili Hiilesmaa behind the board, the album plays firmly to the band's strengths. Goth-flavored atmospherics? Meaty riffs? Expertly-crafted arrangements? Instantly-catchy choruses? Operatic despair? It's all here, most notably on the album's three classic singles: "Buried Alive By Love," which opens the proceedings with a roar, and proceeds to ratchet up the intensity from there, and "The Funeral of Hearts" and "The Sacrament," both of which beautifully pair Ville's lovelorn baritone with the band's innate ability to switch gears from delicate to muscular with the flick of a cigarette ash." - Dan Epstein

Bang Your Head: Band's Classic Album Mastered from the Original Master Tapes by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray at Acoustech

Come On, Feel the Noize: Multi-Platinum Hard-Rock Landmark Filled With Great Hooks and Endless Fun

Features Special Gatefold Album Cover With All Original Graphics

Quiet Riot broke through the mainstream with its mega-platinum smash Metal Health album in 1983, which became the first metal-oriented album to hit #1 on the Billboard charts. The hard-working Los Angeles power quartet featured the great vocals and writing of frontman Kevin Dubrow, bassist extraordinaire Rudy Sarzo, power drummer Frank Banali, and guitar shredder Carlos Cavazo. Together, they delivered the goods in a big way, making Metal Health a classic whose appeal spans multiple genres and generations.

Thanks in part to the amazing smash cover version of Slades Cum On Feel The Noize, Metal Health was and still is a fixture at radio and retail. The LP is jam packed with stellar arena anthems including the head-banging title track Metal Health, most recently used in the opening sequence of the award-winning film The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke. Plus, radio-driven rockers like Loves A Bitch, the amazing Breathless, and the blues-oriented Dont Want To Let You Go add variety. Friday Music is proud to be the home of this 180g audiophile vinyl limited-edition edition.

For this limited edition release, Friday Music has gone back to the original Pasha Records/Epic Records tapes, which have been impeccably mastered by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray at AcousTech/RTI. Included is a very limited gatefold album cover with all of the original graphics. This is a much welcomed audiophile dream for the heavy rocker in all of us.

Death To False Metal is not a traditional collection of studio leftovers or songs from the vault, but a wholly original follow-up to Weezer's just-released Hurley. The album was created using the basic tracks of 10 previously unreleased recordings-nine never-before-heard songs plus one cover-to assemble a brand new and truly modern-sounding record. The result is an evolution for the band, a giant step forward with a nod to the past.

''These were great songs, great recordings, but for some reason they didn't make the final cut for previous records,'' Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo stated. ''Some just weren't right for the albums we were recording at the time-just a bit ahead of their time or too 'rock.' Now, the time is right to introduce them. Together, they are the album that should logically follow Hurley.''

Featuring tracks the band originally began recording from the late '90s to late '00s, Death To False Metal was a labor of love for Cuomo and his co-producer Shawn Everett, as well as the entire band. Each track was individually evaluated by the production team of Cuomo and Everett to figure out how to make each of the songs reach their full potential, and ultimately fit harmoniously on the album. After that process, they then brought in each band member in to complete the parts needed. Some of the ten songs received a major overhaul, while others got the equivalent of a sonic tune-up.

''Turning Up The Radio'' is the result of Cuomo's 2008 collaborative YouTube project, ''Let's Write A Sawng,'' for which he invited fans to submit ideas. As they went through the steps of composing a tune, eventually, 15 people became involved. This track is one of only two songs not solely penned by Weezer for Death To False Metal.

''Blowin' My Stack,'' ''Losing My Mind'' (which features some of the most raw and personal emotions in a Weezer song), ''I'm A Robot,'' and a rock cover of the massive R&B hit ''Un-Break My Heart'' were all first recorded prior to the release of 2005's Make Believe. ''I Don't Want Your Loving'' was originally laid down as a demo for 2002's Maladroit. The abrasive punk-metal ''Everyone'' hails from post-1998 Pinkerton period, as does the pop song ''Trampoline.'' The piano-based ''Odd Couple'' and new-wave-style ''Auto-Pilot'' were laid down prior to 2008's Weezer (aka ''The Red Album'').

The title Death To False Metal comes from a phrase that Cuomo and his younger brother used when they were kids. Musical integrity was a matter of life or death then, and now the new album is a reminder of how important music is for both Weezer and their many fans. At a time when many of their contemporaries seem to have forgotten how to rock, Weezer is ready to teach them. Cuomo and fellow axe-slinger Brian Bell crafted nine epic guitar solos-one for nearly every song on Death To False Metal-and with the band's signature hooks in full effect, Weezer's school of rock is back in session.

    The Metallic Year

Imbogodom are the UK's Alexander Tucker and New Zealand's Daniel Beban. The Metallic Year is their Thrill Jockey debut and first release under the Imbogodom moniker. Mutual friends in sound exploration, this Trans-Atlantic duo create other-worldly transmissions where improvisation gives way to mutated song forms and intricate soundscapes. The Metallic Year is a collection of eerie tracks where sound collage and unraveling songs present a haunted world of spooling atmospheres, warped instrumentation, and disembodied voices. The nocturnal creations were inspired by the tape experiments of BBC's Radiophonics Workshop, Terry Riley, Steve Reich, and their love of New Zealand musician Alastair Galbraith. Imbogodom continue in the tradition of these sonic pioneers to bring new sounds from old sources.

    Faith Hope Love

King's X lie somewhere between progressive rock and hard rock, and nowhere is that more evident than on this album. They're at their best when rocking out, as on the fast, acrobatic Moanjam, which occasionally reminds one of Queen's Headlong. With the slower, delicate Six Broken Soldiers, they veer more toward Pink Floyd territory; Fine Art of Friendship has a fine midtempo groove and some excellent riffs. King's X enjoy harmonizing, as just about every song includes backing vocals, or else two or more of the band members share the lead. The only problem here is that they overdo it, making what could be a series of special moments into just another effect. This, coupled with overly slick production, prevents Faith Hope Love from being a great album. However, it is good, with some fine moments that help make up for its shortcomings. --Genevieve Williams

    Too Fast For Love

Limited Edition (1500) Clear With White Vinyl

Too Fast For Love is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Mötley CrÜe. The first edition of 900 copies was released on November 10, 1981, on the band's LeathÜr Records label. Elektra Records signed the band the following year, at which point the album was remixed and partially re-recorded. This re-release, with a different track listing and slightly different artwork (e.g., red lettering on the cover and a different interior photograph of the band), has become the standard version from which all later reissues derive. The original mix of the album remained unreleased on CD until 2002, when it was included in the Music to Crash Your Car to: Vol. 1 box set compilation.

While the album only reached number 77 on the Billboard 200 album chart in the United States, it would ultimately reach platinum status. The songs Stick to Your Guns and Live Wire were released as singles for the album. The album cover is a tribute to The Rolling Stones album Sticky Fingers.Available for the first time on clear with white vinyl.

    Why Love Now

Pissed Jeans have been making gnarly noise for 13 years, and on their
fifth album, Why Love Now, the male-fronted quartet is taking aim at
the mundane discomforts of modern life-from fetish webcams to
office-supply deliveries. Rock bands can retreat to the safety of what
rock bands usually sing about. So 60 years from now, when no one
has a telephone, bands will be writing songs like, 'I'm waiting for her
to call me on my telephone.' Kids are going to be like, 'Grandpa, tell
me, what was that?' I'd rather not shy away from talking about the
internet or interactions in 2016, says frontman Matt Korvette.

Pissed Jeans' gutter-scraped amalgamation of sludge, punk, noise,
and bracing wit make the band-Korvette, Brad Fry (guitar), Randy
Huth (bass) and Sean McGuinness (drums)-a release valve for a
world where absurdity seems in a constant battle trying to outdo
itself. Why Love Now picks at the bursting seams that are barely
holding 21st-century life together. Take the grinding rave-up The Bar
Is Low, which, according to Korvette, is about how every guy seems
to be revealing themselves as a shithead. It seems like every guy is
getting outed, across every board of entertainment and politics and
music. There's no guy that isn't a total creep.

The lyrics on Why Love Now are particularly pointed about gender
relations and the minefield they present in 2016. 'It's Your Knees' is
about the endless, unrequested, commenting on if you'd fuck a girl.
'My great aunt won a cooking contest.' 'Oh, that's pretty hot. I'd hit
that,' says Korvette. On Love Without Emotion Korvette channels
Nick Cave's guttural side while bemoaning his detachment over
cavernous guitars. Ignorecam twists the idea of fetish cam shows-
where the woman just ignores you and watches TV or eats macaroni
and cheese or talks on the phone-into a showcase for Korvette's
rancid yelp and his bandmates' pummeling rock.

As they did on their last album, 2013's Honeys, Pissed Jeans offer a
couple of fuck that shit type songs about the working world. And the
startling I'm A Man, which comes at the album's midpoint, finds
author Lindsay Hunter (Ugly Girls) taking center stage, delivering a
    self-penned monologue of W.B. Mason-inspired erotica-office small
talk about pens and coffee given just enough of a twist to expose its
filthy underside, with Hunter adopting a grimacing menace that
makes its depiction of curdled masculinity even more harrowing.

No Wave legend Lydia Lunch shacked up in Philadelphia to produce
Why Love Now alongside local metal legend Arthur Rizk (Eternal
Champion, Goat Semen). I knew she wasn't a traditional producer,
Korvette says of Lunch. I like how she's so cool and really intimidating.
She ended up being so fucking awesome and crazy. She was
super into it, constantly threatening to bend us over the bathtub. I'm
not really sure what that entails, but I know she probably wasn't
joking." The combination of Lunch's spiritual guidance and Rizk's
technical prowess supercharged Pissed Jeans, and the bracing Why
Love Now documents them at their grimy, grinning best. While its
references may be very early-21st-century, its willingness to state its
case cement it as an album in line with punk's tradition of turning
norms on their heads and shaking them loose.

PATRICIA HALL and her boyfriend IAN HICKS have been enchanting one another with song since the spring of 2009. Their first meeting was an audition. Ian was looking for a voice to compliment his moody, cinematic synthesizer sketches and Patricia hoped to meet the right partner to help put her day dreamy poems and keyboard melodies to music.

Their mutual love of early 80s synth pop, the nascent incarnations of house and techno, ebm, krautrock, post punk, and the first wave of industrial music set the course. After a few sessions together the partnership proved to be exactly what they had both been searching for and SOFT METALS was born. What began as a collaboration between songwriters soon budded into a passionate love affair. Song lyrics became secret messages, with which Patricia confessed her developing affection for Ian. The Portland-based duo's first five original works together, which became the EP The Cold World Melts, released on Captured Tracks, is a time capsule of this courtship. This summer marks the release of their first full-length, a self-titled release with Captured Tracks.

The album is a further expression of their romance, but now two years into their relationship, the two are looking a bit more outward. They explore fantastical soundscapes which conjure the dramatic cinematic worlds of Dario Argento, Roman Polanski, Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, and the Czech New Wave. Ultra-saturated colors with a touch of noir, opulent architecture, and mysterious femmes all spring to mind. From the deep examinations of the human psyche found in Adam Curtis documentaries to the controversial bridge between science and the soul via Carl
Sagan and Ray Kurzweil, the duo revels in the trans-formative power of love, knowledge, and imagination. The outcome of all this is a collection of bittersweet electronic pop songs balanced by a delicate surrealism, a patient sense of experimentation that leaves you floating in your subconscious and moving to the beat. The sonic landscapes are sleek, but never icy.

    Louder Than Love

Remastered Reissue On 180 Gram Vinyl

Louder Than Love is the second studio album by the American rock band Soundgarden, released on September 5, 1989 through A&M Records. After touring in support of its first full-length studio album, Ultramega OK (1988), Soundgarden signed with A&M and began work on its first album for a major label. The songs on the album featured a metal-leaning grunge sound with some songs featuring unusual or unorthodox time signatures.

Due to the nature of some of the lyrics, a Parental Advisory sticker was placed on the album packaging. Louder Than Love would become the band's first album to chart on the Billboard 200. The band supported the album with tours of North America and Europe. It was the last Soundgarden album to feature the band's original bassist, Hiro Yamamoto.

    Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666

"When thinking back to heavy music and the 1990s, it's easy to just neatly summarize it up as grunge and then nu metal. But we mustn't forget that between the two, several metal bands "went goth" - tops being Type O Negative and of course, HIM. And HIM frontman Ville Valo certainly succeeded in putting his own unique spin on dark imagery and vampirism on his band's debut full-length, Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666." - Greg Prato

    A Love Of Shared Disasters

Long Awaited Repress On Brown Colored Vinyl

With a full baker's dozen's worth of musicians listed, the debut album by the U.K.'s Crippled Black Phoenix is part of the whole post-Broken Social Scene concept of band as endlessly mutating collective, but A Love of Shared Disasters is considerably more mutant than most. The driving force behind the band is Justin Greaves, former drummer for sludgy art-stoner metal acts Iron Monkey and Electric Wizard, but the heaviness sporadically on display here owes more to Mogwai (whose bassist Dominic Aitchison is a key participant) and Godspeed You Black Emperor!, an obvious touchstone for the epic centerpiece Long Cold Summer. Elsewhere, there are twisted fragments of Neutral Milk Hotel's lo-fi emo-psych, traditional British folk-rock in the Steeleye Span mold (complete with harmonium parts straight out of the Shirley & Dolly Collins songbook), tunes reminiscent of old sea shanties warped within an inch of their life (see the opening The Lament of the Nithered Mercenary and the vintage Fairport Convention gone doom metal feel of The Northern Cobbler), and unexpected hits of straight-up Sigur Rós ethereality. It shouldn't make a bit of sense, and it doesn't in any sort of logical way, but there's an underlying vision to A Love of Shared Disasters, a cracked singularity that keeps it from being just a random bunch of acid-fried weird ideas glued together higgledy piggledy.

    Bacharach: The Look of Love

The Look Of Love, everyone's favorite track from Casino Royale, takes center stage here on this highly-collectible 2 side/2 speed set featuring the silky and sultry vocal dalliances of the great Dusty Springfield. This is a comparison disc cut at 33 1/3 RPM on one side and at 45 RPM on the other. The amount of information and level on both sides is the same with the only differences being the speed at which the lathe was traveling during cutting and that a cartridge can better track the 45 RPM side compared with the 33 RPM side. At 33 Dusty sounds alive, at 45 she is in the room with you! Available now on Classic Records Clarity Vinyl SVP-II 200g.

Clarity Vinyl represents the ultimate in vinyl formulations because it is comprised of over 90% of the highest quality co-polymer available, a key component in vinyl pellets used for manufacturing vinyl records. Further, Clarity Vinyl has no carbon black additive, common in vinyl formulas for LPs. Carbon Black contains trace metals that become magnetized and cause electrical distortions in cartridges during playback that smears the sound. By taking out the Carbon Black, Classic Records is able to dramatically reduce the electrical distortions and thus bring more clarity to the playback process, providing a more realistic musical experience to the listener and LP enthusiast.

2 Gatefold Colored LPs - Remastered

When thinking back to heavy music and the 1990's, it's easy to just neatly summarize it up as grunge?and then nu metal. But we mustn't forget that between the two, several metal bands went goth - tops being Type O Negative and of course, HIM. And HIM frontman Ville Valo certainly succeeded in putting his own unique spin on dark imagery and vampirism on his band's debut full-length, Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666. - Greg Prato

    Heart On

In 2004, the Eagles of Death Metal launched their wholesome good-graciousness with Peace, Love and Death Metal, followed in 2006, by the diabolical Death By Sexy. In 2008, Jesse 'Boots Electric' Hughes, and Joshua 'Babyduck' Homme unleashed their newest tongue in cheek collection, Heart On. The album is another dose of the duo's sex-drenched satire under a backdrop of authentic '60s blues rock and glam-pomposity. Entertainment at its finest.

    Fate of Norns

Pressed On 180 Gram Black Vinyl Imported From Germany

Since their humble start in 1992 as an underground band from Tumba, a suburb in southern Stockholm, Amon Amarth have managed to establish themselves as one of Europe's top death metal acts through hard work, relentless touring, and consistently solid albums. In the beginning it was just fun to play in our own band with our own songs, and getting a gig at the local youth recreation center was a goal big enough, recalls guitarist and main songwriter Olli Mikkonen. Of course, goals change as you fulfill them. I always thought we had something special going on, it was just matter of time to convince everyone else.

Fate Of Norns was recorded at Berno Studios. When asked about the difference between it and their previous efforts, Oli Mikkonen said: However clichÉd it might sound, I have to say the difference is stronger songs. Johan Söderberg contributed to the songwriting much more this time than on previous albums, which gives the songs a new touch and a new vision. We also left a few songs unfinished until we entered the studio just to get a chance to improvise and try out different stuff, as well as getting another point of view on the songs, in this case from Berno Paulsson, the main guy at Berno studio. We put much more energy in the production than we've done before.

A heavy and majestic offering, Fate Of Norns will thrill the fans and win over many more. The band will again tour extensively, for the first time enjoying a hard-earned headliner status in Europe. As I see it, we still have much more to give, concludes Mikkonen, and, as long as we are hungry, we will continue to do what we love: Play metal in Amon Amarth!

    Jomsviking

Double LP With Pop-Up Viking Ship

Swedish metal kings Amon Amarth will unleash their 10th studio album, Jomsviking, via Metal Blade Records! Jomsviking - the band's first concept record in their storied career - tells a tragic tale of love and revenge, backed by the Swedes' trademark melodic, anthemic metal, which was produced and mixed once again by Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Testament, Accept) and also features special guest session drummer Tobias Gustafsson (Vomitory). The epic original story is set in the world of the Jomsvikings, the legendary order of mercenary Vikings. As front-man Johan Hegg explains: "The Jomsvikings were a shadowy and legendary sect of Viking mercenaries, as shrouded in myth now as they were when they fought across Europe and the Middle East. Ruthless and deadly warriors who fought for the highest bidder, their code was simple: Show no fear. Never retreat. Defend your brothers, and when called upon, avenge their deaths. I felt we were finally ready to use their story as the jumping off point for an Amon Amarth album. The Jomsvikings and their world is the background for the story of a young man that is in love with a girl but unfortunately she's being married off. He accidentally kills a man when this happens and he has to flee - but he swears to have revenge and win her back. He feels that he's been wronged and his life has been destroyed. The way the story evolves is not a happy story."

By far their most ambitious project to date, fans can view the video for the album's first single, "First Kill". Produced by Grupa 13 and directed by Darek Szermanowicz (Behemoth), "First Kill" was filmed in Gohrweide (Germany) and Warsaw (Poland) and features a cinematic depiction of the violent, brutal lyrics, along with powerful live footage of the band performing with their full dragon head and pyro stage-set.

    Operation: Doomsday (Silver Age Set)

This special edition 2xLP package comes housed in an all new exclusive jacket featuring DOOM's
infamous metal mask icon embossed out of a metallic silver foil.

Underneath his mysterious metal mask, MF Doom hides the cachet underground legends are made of. After KMD's 1994 sophomore album Bl_ck B_st_rds was turfed by Elektra in 1994 and Subroc (one half of the sibling rhyme duo) passed away, surviving KMD member Zev Love X mutated into the MC Avenger known as MF Doom. The Rap world is better for it. This 19-cut deep album is ridiculously dope, in a bizarro Ol' Dirty Bastard kind of way. Doom sounds either high or drunk on most of the tracks, his self-produced beats are gritty, and his rhyme styles are almost indecipherable. On arguably the best track, Rhymes Like Dimes, Doom weaves some pointed lyrics through his abstract wordplay, spitting 'only in America could you find a way to earn a healthy buck / And still keep your attitude on self-destruct.' Doomsday features female vocalist Pebbles the Invisible accompanying the masked rhyme avenger on his journey to denounce wack MCs, while on ? he trades hot verses with former Columbia artist Kurious Jorge. Doom's avant-garde ghetto-rhyme philosophies take even more intentionally weird twists on Tick, Tick... where he and guest MC MF Grimm's flows warble over a rhythm track whose tempo speeds up and slows down continually. The comic-book themed skits, many of which include snippets of dialogue from Marvel's Dr. Doom series, will help take you deep into the mind of an MC who is as otherworldly as they come. And in today's bland commercial Rap universe, Operation Doomsday's left-of-center beats and rhymes are the perfect remedy.

    Win Hands Down

Armored Saint are a colossus, and Win Hands Down will long be remembered as one of the seven wonders of modern metal. The album - the band's seventh studio offering in a career spanning more than three decades - is all things Armored, a vintage crush of classic power propelled by a cathartic blast of life in the year 2015. This is Armored Saint, and this is nothing short of magnificent.

The fist-pumping adrenaline rush starts with the title track and escalates from there, Win Hands Down delivering an album-opening rally cry that re-introduces the players after their five year sojourn since the release of La Raza in 2010. As always, they are the same Saints we've grown to know and love - frontman John Bush and bassist Joey Vera, guitarist Phil Sandoval and his brother, drummer Gonzo Sandoval, and guitarist Jeff Duncan - five masters of metal that combine to forge one of the genre's most criminally-unsung forces.

When we started work on this record, I said, 'Let's pretend we are a really big band and can do whatever we want', says Bush of the spark that ignited Win Hands Down. Technology allows us that luxury, and we can take that luxury when it comes to writing. In the end, we know who we are, so we don't have those boundaries that other bands might have - you push yourself, dig deep and write stuff that makes you feel happy and fulfills you. That's really important, and I think it came through. This means a lot more to us than just, 'We made a rock/metal album...'
