    Long Cold Winter

Long Cold Winter is the second studio album by American Glam Rock band Cinderella, released in 1988. With Long Cold Winter, Cinderella started to move away from the Glam Rock music of their previous album and into a more Blues Rock-oriented direction, akin to early 1970s Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Humble Pie, Bad Company, and Deep Purple.

The record reached No. 10 in the US and became double-platinum for shipping 2 million copies in the US by the end of the year, just as their debut album Night Songs had done earlier. It was later certified triple platinum.

The album features four singles, which all charted in the US: Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone), which was to be Cinderella's highest-charting single, The Last Mile, Coming Home and Gypsy Road.

    Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters

Following a critically lauded run of dates opening for The Cure on their North American Tour, The Twilight Sad bring their debut LP to vinyl for the first time in the US.

Produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, Spoon, Walkmen), the album pushed their recordings towards an epic scope with sonically detailed, emotive, and eloquent songs. The record has had a lasting impact and many of the songs here are longtime fan favorites. Its now back in print for those who missed the LP edition in its original import only run. The record received rave reviews on release and made several year-end lists, including Pitchfork's best of 2007. The site gave the album a Best New Music standing. The record was given fitting tribute with the band playing it front to back in Glasgow in 2013 and a Record Store Day reissue popping up in the UK.

For US fans, though, this is an opportunity to rightfully complete their Twilight Sad collection with this domestic pressing on their long sought-after debut.

    Second Winter

In 1969, with several albums already under his belt in a short time like The Progressive Blues Experiment, Johnny Winter headed down south to Nashville and recorded what many believe to be one of his finest albums to date, Second Winter. The album features the original line up of Johnny Winter (vocals/guitars) Edgar Winter (keys and saxophone), Tommy Shannon (bass) and Uncle John Turner (drums). This power quartet laid down some of the finest rock and roll and blues performances ever caught in a studio setting, as well as forever etching the name superstar to Johnny Winters career.

Always an avid audiophile and record collector himself, during the original recording sessions, Johnny believed that all the tracks would sound better if spread out over an extra side, instead of the traditional two sided LP, therefore creating the infamous and probably first three sided rock album in history! He summed it up perfectly We also really liked everything wed done and didnt want to leave any of the songs out. We couldnt honesty give you more, and we didnt want to give you less, so here is exactly what we did in Nashville, no more and no less.

Its no secret that Friday Music has been championing this acclaimed world class artist for years now with his own authorized and top blues charting Live Bootleg Series projects, as well as classic vinyl re-releases from the Columbia and Capitol Records vaults. It is now with great pleasure they announe the continuing Johnny Winter 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with his phenomenal earth shaking Second Winter album. Mastered from the original Columbia Records tapes by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray at RTI, this incredible limited edition album comes full circle now in its first time audiophile vinyl domain release.

All his greatest hits are here like Johnny B. Goode, Miss Ann, Fast Life Rider and of course his classic interpretation of Bob Dylans scorching Highway 61 Revisited. A visionary always with each and every one of his releases, Johnny Winter put his all into this album which showed an appreciation to his rock and roll heroes like Chuck Berry and Little Richard, his contemporaries like Bob Dylan, while also being a cultural icon in the psychedelic era solely with his Texan slide and unparalleled blues playing, an unforgettable rock voice, and a fan base that just keeps growing every day.

Fellow legend and brother Edgar Winter and the rest of the band truly excel throughout this entire album as well, on tunes sweltering blues workouts like Memory Pain, I Hate Everybody and the incredible jam Hustled Down In Texas.

Friday Music has also included the long out of print original gatefold album cover designed by Tony Lane, as well as the fine photography of Richard Avedon.

    A Winter Tale

A Winter Tale is the highly anticipated debut studio album from British singer/songwriter/guitarist Bobby Long. Currently residing in New York City, the 24-year old Long has been writing finely-crafted songs since taking up the guitar at age 17; from then on he's been creating memorable songs inhabited by hauntingly poetic lyrics. After relocating to London from Wiltshire in the countryside of Southwest England, he became a fixture at London's open-mic nights while attending London Metropolitan University where he studied Music in Film and wrote his thesis on The Social Impact of American Folk Music.

As Long became more entrenched in London's burgeoning open mic circuit, he met actor and fellow musician Robert Pattinson, who would go on to sing Let Me Sign (co-written by Long and friend Marcus Foster) over a crucial dramatic scene in the blockbuster film Twilight. The inclusion of the song in the film's soundtrack gave Long a head start on a legion of fans.

A Winter Tale features Nona Hendryx (LaBelle) on backing vocals, B. J. Cole (Elton John, Sting) on pedal steel, and Icelandic singer Lay Low on several tracks. Produced by Grammy winner Liam Watson (The White Stripes)

    Johnny Winter (Speakers Corner)

When an international weekly magazine calls a musician the »white pope of black art«, then it sounds suspiciously like charitableness towards a blues musician in his prime, whose good years are in the past. As if! In the case of Johnny Winter, the reviews of his 2011 tour were just as glowing as in his early years, when Rolling Stone magazine described the gaunt Mississippi bard as »a cross-eyed albino with long fleecy hair playing some of the gutsiest fluid blues guitar you have ever heard«. Intentional or not: Winter was able to win for himself some of the 'rocker' laurels that were reserved for the young Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. But Winter let everyone know that he was only interested in the blues, gutsy, evoking Howlin' Wolf's and Muddy Waters' growling groove, yet nimble-fingered enough on the strings to conjure up astoundingly sleek garlands of sound that fit precisely into each bar of music.

Winter remains pretty cool when people attempt to identify personal afflictions in his music: When I play blues, I feel good he stated recently to a journalist. That the same goes for over 40 years ago is substantiated by both sides of this debut album.

    About Speakers Corner

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Speakers Corner all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existant tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasise that Speakers Corner Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle. We have one digital recording in our catalogue (Alan Parsons / Eye In The Sky"), but even in this particular case we used the analogue tapes for cutting.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects - excluding the exception above - and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Bright Light In Winter (Awaiting Repress)

Bright Light In Winter is the long-awaited third album by Chicago guitarist Jeff Parker. With his associates Chris Lopes (bass) and Chad Taylor (drums), this trio continues their examination of our post-modern musical universe via tuneful compositions by all three members, and an elastic, dynamic approach to improvisation and group interplay - rooted in our familiar musical traditions, but also searching for the new ones. Recorded and mixed by Bundy K. Brown.

    Wishbone

Wishbone is the sophomore album from the British-born artist who calls New York City home. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Lucero, Old Crow Medicine Show), the well crafted songs on Wishbone live up to the expectations put upon a young man the Wall Street Journal touted as a "promising talent" with "much more to say," after the release of his Liam Watson-produced debut album, A Winter Tale.

On Wishbone Long taps into a broader pallete of emotions than he has on past releases, eschewing melancholy and eloquently channeling anger and frustration into gritty, hard driving guitar parts (the majority of which are played by Long) that compliment his rough-hewn vocals. Steel guitar provides an apt counter balance, adding a hint of twang and drawn out expanse to the urgency put forth in the lyrics. Throughout the album Long displays his deft control of melody and tone, well practiced over many years of prolific songwriting.

    Miss E...So Addictive (Pre-Order)

After a long winter of discontent, So Addictive finds Missy Elliott hoping to initiate hip-hop's summer of love. Miss E's third album is dosed with feel-good flavor and has more guests than the VIP section of the hippest hip-hop hot spot. Buddies Method Man and Redman bark across the bridge of Dog in Heat's canine funk. Jay-Z and Ludacris feature on two different versions of One Minute Man's scathing soul. Synths tweak and creak in rhythm as Missy unleashes a dreamy diss of those hopeless suitors who unload their cargo before they've sparked her ignition. Take Away features Pony man Ginuwine on a hypnotic slow-burner heavily reminiscent of Art of Noise's Moments in Love.

When left to her own devices, as she is on Lick Shots (which jangles like Django Reinhardt on downers), Missy comes on like Schooly D, a fearless, female gangsta licking shots against anyone who dares cross her. On Scream a.k.a. Itchin' she breaks into a soprano. A 4/4 stomp is stamped indelibly across the ecstasy-holler song 4 My People (featuring Eve). Overall, it feels as if producer Timbaland has muted his experimental leanings on this outing with his favorite muse in favor of submersible club tracks. Musically, the bhangra beat bop of Get Ur Freak On is the standout. The spiral timing of Whatcha Gon' Do, the fret-skipping Slap! Slap Slap! (featuring Da Brat), and the sunken, drunken funk of the not-so-subtle X-hex X-Tasy are tied at a close second. -Chris Campion

    The Sacred Heart Sessions

The Lowest Pair features the duel banjo picking of Kendl Winter and
Palmer T. Lee. Draped in Kendl's high lonesome harmonies and Palmer's
Midwest croon, their debut release, 36¢, (Team Love Records) was
hailed by many outlets and American Songwriter praised their earnest,
earthy songcraft. Team Love will release their
sophomore album, The Sacred Heart Sessions.

Arkansas-born and now homesteading in Olympia, Washington, Kendl
Winter sprouts alfalfa beans in mason jars in the back of the tour van and
spreads her songs across the country Johnny Appleseed style. Kendl
brings to The Lowest Pair her wonderfully weaving poetry of song, old
and new, and a voice somewhere between Gillian Welch and Iris DeMent
with a little Olympia twist. Palmer T. Lee who hails from Minneapolis was
nineteen years old when he inherited a couple of banjos and discovered
he could reassemble them into his dream instrument. Former front man
for the much loved high energy bluegrass band The Boys n' the
Barrels, Palmer's songs are distilled into the warm sweet sounds of his
percussive wordplay and the melodic interludes of his own unique style
played on a pieced together banjo.

After nearly a year of traveling the country playing clubs, hotels, house
shows, back yards and street corners, they found their way back up to
Minnesota, this time to Duluth where they sat down to record the followup
to 36¢.   Linking up with Tom Fabjance at an old church seemed like
the perfect way to expand on their sound without diluting their original
magical formula. The Sacred Heart Sessions is an album that allows the
listening to enter the space that surrounds its creation. One can virtually
feel the walls and vaulted ceiling of the old wooden church rising up,
creating a natural reverb and warming the air.

Be it Kendl's punk roots, her admiration for the traditional American
songbook, or the gravitational pull she sensed drawing her to Olympia,
it's her combining these talents and creative impulses with Palmer's
Midwestern charm, the long winters spent listening to a steady diet of
Townes Van Zandt and John Hartford and the strange moment of fate
that left him with two inherited banjos as a young man; this combination
has resulted in a uniquely original sound that is The Lowest Pair.

    Fern Girl And Ice Man

The Lowest Pair had been planning to release a new record in the Spring
of 2016. So, in early 2015, Palmer convinced Kendl to spend a winter in
Minnesota, with the temptation of working with local greats Dave
Simonett and Erik Koskinen on the new material. The duo then set off on
what would be a successful season of touring their second, critically acclaimed
album, The Sacred Heart Sessions (Spin: "solemn and
humble;" The Bluegrass Situation: "deeply felt"), and a new-old-time
record, I Reckon I'm Fixin' On Kickin' Round To Pick A Little. In the fall,
returning to the midwest to finish up the recordings they had begun a
few months prior, Kendl and Palmer found themselves with a whole new
batch of songs ready to lay down. After much deliberation, they
ambitiously decided the two collections should be released together in
    2016.

The new records, Fern Girl and Ice Man, as well as Uncertain As It Is
Uneven, could be viewed as two windows into the growing and changing
world of The Lowest Pair. Uncertain stays the course of their previous
releases, being focused on stripped down, intimate arrangements to
support their timeless songwriting and haunting vocals. Fern Girl is a
more moody and adventurous exploration of new sounds, new studio
production directions, and what it might sound like for The Lowest Pair
to be supported by a full band, while keeping one foot planted in the
rootsy aesthetics which drew them together from the beginning.
Kendl Winter, born in Arkansas, moved to Olympia, Washington after
high school, drawn to the evergreen forests and the lively and thriving
music scene. She put three solo records out on Olympia's indie label, K
Records, and performed in nationally-touring northwest string bands
before beginning The Lowest Pair in 2013 with Palmer T. Lee. Palmer
built his first banjo when he was 19 from pieces he serendipitously
inherited. Shortly after deciding songwriting would be the most effective
and enjoyable medium for his musings, he began cutting his teeth
fronting Minneapolis string bands and touring the midwest festival
circuit, which is where he and Kendl first met, on the banks of the
    Mississippi.

So, back to that Spring of 2016 plan: with little attention to tedious
practicalities and with an eye focused securely on delivering to their
growing fan base a truly special treat; a rootsy, bluegrassy, old-timish
version of meiosis has happened, as one new album became two new
    albums.

Fans already know that the chemistry between Palmer's Midwestern
charm, those long winters spent listening to a steady diet of Townes Van
Zandt and John Hartford, and Kendl's poetic and playful way with
words, her unique approach to the banjo (just listen to "Dreaming Of
Babylon"), and her barefoot-in-the-cool-river-water mystique combine to
make a powerful sound, but what's new in 2016 is both the inclusion of
those non-banjo sounds (harmonica, drum, bass, violin) and an
incredible expansion of their songbook. In a way, two records, the playful
and the hush, the dark and the rooted, the pillow and the nightmare, the
pin drop and the starry night; the juxtaposition of the ups and downs
that are experiences in a day, in a year, in a minute, all this has
demanded from the band more than just "a new record." Fern Girl and
Ice Man and Uncertain As It Is Uneven mark the arrival of America's
next great musical duo, and it's over the course of these two albums that
that boast becomes clearly rooted in truth.

make a powerful sound, but what's new in 2016 is both the inclusion of
those non-banjo sounds (harmonica, drum, bass, violin) and an
incredible expansion of their songbook.

    Still Alive And Well

Johnny Winters amazing five decade long career continues to delight fans both new and old alike, as he maintains a very high profile concert and recording career. A bulk of his most legendary recordings were on Columbia Records as he went on to become one of the labels most important rock and blues spokesmen.

Friday Music has been the home of many Johnny Winter recordings over the past number of years, and it is now with extreme pride and pleasure they announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of his classic Still Alive And Well album for the audiophile domain.

Recorded in 1973 and produced by the guitar great Rick Derringer, Still Alive And Well was truly a gusty, hard rockin affair that has truly stood the test of time. Noted for its incredible song selection, Johnny Winter excels on such definitive versions of the blues classic Rock Me Baby, two Rolling Stones joints Let It Bleed and Silver Train, as well the smash title track Still Alive And Well.

Several of his good friends were a part of the sessions including his band mates the late great Randy Jo Hobbs and Richard Hughes, as well as superstar friends like Todd Rundgren and Rick Derringer.

For this special limited edition release, Friday Music has created a super rare gatefold cover, restoring the wonderful original artwork elements from the original vinyl release not seen in years. They are also enclosing a poly sleeve to protect your vinyl investment, as well as a poly bag for the album cover.

    Disillusion

O'Brother return with their sophomore studio album Disillusion, The band ventured out of their hometown of Atlanta, GA to the bitter cold of Long Island this past winter to hole up in the studio with engineer/producer Mike Sapone (Brand New, Public Enemy, Daytrader). The result is a heavier, refined follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed 2012 debut Garden Window which the Wall Street Journal's Jim Fusilli described as, " a brutalizing blend of
industrial rock, alt-metal and metal featuring a three-guitar attack ." In addition the album
had both Guitar World and Decibel comparing them to Radiohead and the Melvins and Consequence of Sound threw in Queens of the Stone Age and Tool comparisons, summing things up with " Garden Window feels really fucking loud, and does this really fucking well ."

After wrapping things in the studio, the band hit the road this spring with the legendary Alice In Chains for a stint of support dates and along the way, appeared at a number of festivals including
Rock on the Range and Rocklahoma. In the past three years, they have been on countless national tours, sharing the stage with Manchester Orchestra, The Dear Hunter, Cage the Elephant, Alice In Chains, Thrice, Caspian, and Circa Survive along with a handful of headlining tours. O'Brother is extremely excited to continue on the festival tip by making their first ever appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago this August just weeks before Disillusion is set to drop.

    SMM: Opiate

    Limited To 800 Copies

SMM: Opiate is the second release in Ghostly's SMM series, which is an ongoing exploration of the evocative possibilities of sound, with a focus
classical minimalism, electronic and drone composition, lm soundtracks, and fragile imaginary landscapes. Opiate is the follow-up to 2011's SMM: Context, and as with that record, it's a carefully chosen selection of music, compiled over some two years from around the world.

The record opens with Simon Scott's Water Shadow, a luxuriant piece of beatless ambience that's like a wash of warm water or the rst touch of the summer sun on your face after a long, cold winter. It's a warmth that doesn't last, though - Ti Prego Memory Man, by A Winged Victory for the Sullen, is no less beautiful. It's a stately, alpine beauty, its chilly sounds a harbinger of things to come. Celer's Nothing So Mystical is more minimal still, while Black Swan's Passing Heartbreak brings whispers of humanity, its sound coalescing out of a atmospheric
    whirl of vocal textures.

The wryly titled This Is Radio Sweden, by Jim Haynes, is all brooding background noise that's shot through with what sounds like an old fashioned telephone engaged tone, a track that seems shot through with connotations of absence and loss. EN's White is both somber and somehow transportive, setting plucked chords from what sounds like a banjo over a glistening synth gure, while Pjusk's Dorsk slows to a sort of stasis, with only the faintest of basslines to indicate any sign of life. Fieldhead's 37th is like a slow, mindful from such a reverie, and Noveller's Bright Cloud Blooms brings the cycle to a close with another brief ush of precious warmth.

As a whole, the compilation seems to follow a narrative arc, descending through a series of stages into near-complete stillness, and then slowly ascending back to where it began. As a whole, the experience is certainly evocative of the opiated sensation evoked by the record's title - but really, it's a compilation that invites you to nd your own meaning in it, or simply to appreciate the beauty of its music and escape the world for a while.

Top Of The World (Awaiting Repress)

Slightly Stoopid's Top of the World continues the onward and upward trend within the band members' musicianship, while bringing the purity and energy of their live shows into the studio for recording sessions. Top of the World is most comparatively aligned with Slightly Stoopid's 2005 studio release of Closer to the Sun, except now the addition and solidification of both trumpet and saxophone are more profound. This is certainly not a step backwards, if anything, Slightly Stoopid enhanced their sound ten fold from their most successful album of all time.

Top of the World contains everything a music enthusiast will adore long after the first spin of the album. Whether the listener adores the hip-hop beats of the album's title track, the uplifting horns on "Don't Stop", the pure roots-reggae style of "Work", or the soulful cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm On Fire," Top of the World has all the necessary qualities of an instant classic.

To take the album to another level, Slightly Stoopid invited a whole host of musical studs in their own right with Barrington Levy on "Ur Love", "Ska Diddy" featuring Angelo Moore of Fishbone, "Just Thinkin" featuring Chali 2na, "Mona June" featuring Angela Hunte, "Hiphoppablues" with G. Love, and the legendary Jamaican singer and songwriter Don Carlos on "Marijuana".

The band name Slightly Stoopid doesn't initially give off the sense of soothing melodies, full-brained lyricism and heartfelt tracks from beginning to end, but that is exactly what Top of the World portrays to the listener. Slightly Stoopid's seventh studio album is the band's most complete and all encompassing sound ever tracked, and they recorded it organically in their own studio on their own time.

If you are looking for a 21-track album that will keep the sense of feel good summer vibes alive long into the fall and winter seasons, then Top of the World is the ideal remedy to bring the sound of Ocean Beach, California right to your side. -- Reviewed By: Kris Siuta

They Only Come Out At Night

Mastered from the Original Epic Records Tapes by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray

Edgar Winter, the multi-talented superstar brother of blues rock legend Johnny Winter, has been a fixture on the rock music scene now for several decades. While launching his own successful career with his solo albums and Edgar Winters White Trash, the natural progression for this man was to develop his own supergroup which would become the platinum and gold selling The Edgar Winter Group.

Releasing their first album in 1973, They Only Come Out At Night was an overnight success, thanks to the mind altering studio jam Frankenstein which has since become one of classic rocks finest moments. This instrumental smash featured the stunning keyboard of Edgar Winter, the incredible guitar of resident shredder Ronnie Montrose, the thumping bass of the late great Dan Hartman and of course the solid percussive hits of Chuck Ruff.

The album went onto receive more attention from radio programmers across the globe as even further hit songs would rapidly develop including the blues rocker Undercover Man, the country rock feel of Round & Round and of course another top charter with the summer Top 40 Rock driving sounds of Dan Hartmans Free Ride. The Rick Derringer produced album would go on to stay on the charts for a long time and receive multiple platinum status in a very short time. Truly, one of classic rocks finest albums ever recorded!

Now for the first time ever on audiophile vinyl, Friday Music announces the first installment of their Edgar Winter 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with his platinum plus album They Only Come Out At Night. This first time audiophile vinyl release is mastered from the original Epic Records tapes by Joe Reagoso (Johnny Winter/Alice Cooper/Boston) at Friday Music Studios with Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI.

For this special release, the limited edition album comes in the original gatefold album cover, which features the photography of Francesco Scavullo and Norman Seeff and artwork design of John Berg. Local Customs: Lone Star Lowlands

The second in Numeros series of peeks into the world of regional studios hones in on Mickey Rouses Lowland operation out of Beaumont, Texas. Long after the Boppers plane crashed and the Winter brothers (Johnny and Edgar) and Janis Joplin split, Texas Golden Triangle was home to a vibrant scene of musicians, songwriters, and entrepreneurs just trying to make it in Houston, let alone the world.

From the ashes of a vibrant garage and stage band scene, the Lowland studio and its clientele were formed. Holed up in a rundown strip mall, groups like Mourning Sun, Insight Out, Sage, Sassy, Mother Lion, Hope, Circus, and Boot Hill tracked out hundreds of demos, most of which were put on the shelf and left to bake in the South East Texas heat. Until now.

Over the last two years, Numero has painstakingly gone through every tape in the studios archives, selecting the best of the best (28 for this 2xLP) for this peerless compilation. The songs themselves run the gamut; southern boogie rock, CSNY clones, British blues thunder, garage-psych hangovers, Morricone-esque supper club instrumentals, yacht rock, and what can only be described as Bobby McPherin fronting the Velvet Underground, are threaded together in the way only a tightly-knit scene can be. Forget bringing these treasures back to life, Numeros giving them the life they never had.
