    Dirty Blues

Texas & West Coast blues legend Lightnin' Hopkins delivers an amazing set with his 1971 Dirty Blues album. There was nobody quite like Lightnin' Hopkins. John Lee Hooker may have made more records but even he couldnt match the consistently high level of Hopkins creativity. Lightnin' and his vast repertoire represented the epitome of Texas country blues. No question. He came from a musical family and his unique guitar style was fashioned from the traditions he learned in the presence of Blind Lemon Jefferson and Texas Alexander, a distant cousin. His guitar both underscored and complemented the songs he drew from his own life and the lives of those around him.

Young Man Blues - Live In Glasgow

    Limited To 1000 Hand Numbered

The earliest live recordings yet discovered of this hero of British folk were originally released on CD by Ace Records in 1998, 30 tracks of Bert originals, blues and folk covers recorded between 1962 and 1964 by schoolboy Frank Coia.

Now on vinyl for the very first time, these tracks are an important document of early live appearances by a mercurial talent, and the guys at Stamford Audio has launched a very special label to enable the songs to be heard on the beautiful vinyl format.

This is the first release on the Stamford Audio Heritage label, aiming to represent recordings of historical significance on vinyl; it will be strictly limited to 1000 hand-numbered copies and will not be repressed.

Deep Dead Blue - Live At Meltdown

    180 Gram Vinyl

Available on Vinyl For The First Time

A lovely, understated exercise in minimalism, Deep Dead Blue documents a set of otherwise unaccompanied guitar/vocal duets between Bill Frisell and Elvis Costello, recorded live at the Meltdown Festival in London's Queen Elizabeth Hall on June 25, 1995.

Frisell co-wrote the title track, one of the five songs bearing a Costello credit; the others are underexposed items from Costello's mid- to late-'80s catalog, plus selections by Charles Mingus (Weird Nightmare) and Lerner & Loewe (Gigi).

Costello is once again the refined, mature vocal stylist of Painted From Memory, but Frisell expertly controls the dynamics of each piece, often stripping his part down to single-note lines, which lends surprising emotional impact when he allows full chords to wash over Costello's voice.

Blue Blood Blues - Jawbreaker (Live)

The standout track on the Dead Weathers sophomore album Sea of Cowards and its second single, Blue Blood Blues is full of bluster and wicked licks. With lead vocals by Jack White, the lyrics are line after line of gems all worth repeating, especially All the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. Backed with a live version of the track Jawbreaker that explodes with an abandon not found on the studio version. 7 limited edition vinyl single, picture sleeve, in poly bag.

"Keb' Mo' is one of the most authentic and appealing performers of his generation, and that's why a double-live album from him is such an unqualified joy." - The Daily Vault

"That Hot Pink Blues Album is a satisfying summation of Keb' Mo's career to date, every bit as warm, personable, and observant as the man himself. Let's hope there's another dozen albums waiting up ahead." - The Daily Vault

Over the past two decades, Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, guitarist and contemporary blues artist, Keb' Mo', has cultivated a reputation as being a modern master of American roots music through the understated excellence of his live and studio performances. Recorded throughout the past year while on tour, and produced by Casey Wasner, the double-disc album features 16 live recorded songs from Keb' Mo's extensive catalog. Leading up to the release of the album, Keb' Mo' will make various media appearances in support of this highly anticipated new release. Following the release of KEB' MO' LIVE - THAT HOT PINK BLUES ALBUM, Keb' and his three-piece band will take their routinely sold-out show to fans across North America and Europe throughout their tour; playing in theaters and a variety of venues across the country.

Santana IV: Live At The House Of Blues - Las Vegas

    Import

On March 21st, 2016, a few weeks prior to the release of the "Santana IV" album, the classic line-up of Santana took to the stage at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas. The show they delivered combined tracks from the new album with the classic hits from the band's first three albums, to which "Santana IV" is the natural successor. This was a hugely anticipated reunion of a line-up that had not performed and recorded together since the early seventies. It brought back the scintillating combination of rock, Latin, blues, jazz and African rhythms which was the band's trademark and made them truly unique. The concert was a celebration of the chemistry, dynamism and pure musical joy that had made the original band so special and earned them a place in so many fans' hearts. It is a show to be enjoyed over and over again.

    Living Proof

Five time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Buddy Guy, released his album Living Proof on vinyl. This studio release marks a historic first as it brings together the incomparable B.B. King and Guy on the introspective and moving lead single, Stay Around a Little Longer. The landmark single represents the first time that these two blues titans have ever joined together on a studio release.

Carrying 12 tracks on 3 sides, the fourth side is graced with a beautifully crafted 'etching' that is as much a pleasure for the eye as the other sides are for your ears!

Living in the USA is a 1978 album by American singer/songwriter/producer, Linda Ronstadt. The album was Ronstadt's third No. 1 on the Billboard album chart and was the first album in history to ship Double Platinum. As a measure of her impact on popular culture in this time period, the front cover photograph of a roller skating Linda in a satin exercise outfit was noted to have increased the popularity of skating in the United States at the time.

It was Ronstadt's record sixth consecutive million-selling Platinum album. It was certified by the RIAA for 2 million copies sold in the US alone and has estimated real sales of 3 million US units sold.

    The Cost Of Living

For The Revelations, their latest offering, The Cost Of Living (Decision/Sony RED), is a labor of love years in the making. Since they first came on the scene in 2008 with their Deep Soul EP(Decision), Brooklyn, NY's The Revelations have represented a twenty-first-century take on classic soul-one which shows reverence for the masters, but with a uniquely modern sensibility-a sound The New York Times' Jon Pareles calls "revivalism without poses or quotation marks".

On The Cost Of Living, Rell Gaddis assumes the lead vocal duties previously provided by Tre Williams. This is by no means Rell's debut with The Revelations, however. Rell has been part of the group's writing team from their onset, and performed with the band for years, even contributing lead vocals to "It's Too Late" from their 2009 album The Bleeding Edge (Decision). Since being signed to Jay-Z's Roc-a-fella Records back in 1997, Rell has had a prolific singing and writing career, creating his own records, as well as penning and lending vocals to songs featuring artists Usher (Rell wrote Usher's #1 RnB Hit Here I Stand), Jay-Z, Kanye West, Mary J Blige, and many more.

This workman-like mentality is pervasive throughout the band as well. The Revelations feature Wes Mingus on guitar, Gintas Janusonis on drums, and newcomer Ben Zwerin on bass. Each accomplished performing and session musicians in their own right, The Revelations have combined to provide music for icons such as the Wu-Tang Clan and Lee "Scratch" Perry, as well as soul royalty Otis Clay, Willie Clayton, Benny Latimore, and Swamp Dogg.

The distinctive blues/rock/soul sound of The Cost Of Living was recorded at soul mecca Royal Studios in Memphis, TN, produced by Bob Perry with Lawrence "Boo" Mitchell, as well as The Revelations themselves. For this project, the band is joined by Stax and Hi Records session legends Bobby Manuel (guitar), Lester Snell (keyboards), and Charles Hodges (organ). Lyrically, The Cost Of Living weaves tales of perseverance despite hardship. From the opening track, "Mama", about a single mother scrounging to raise her children, to the jaded optimism of "It's Ok", the pragmatism of "Money Makes The World Go 'Round", and the heart-broken disillusionment of the soul classic "Got To Use My Imagination", The Revelations continue their tradition of presenting blues topics with soul music's urgency.

The Revelations' engaging and energetic live performances continue to win over audiences from Brooklyn to the Mississippi Delta to California and beyond, creating fans such as A-listers B.B. King, Bobby Womack and Stevie Wonder in the process. This is new, true soul music with a sharp, modern edge.

    Decimation Blues

"Raposa's lived in San Diego and Portland and New York and probably some other places, too. He's got friends and family and history. He's got a record label and a musical
career, but for a little while, he let that all go and hid out in the Nevada desert, where I've never been, but don't imagine to be the most positive place to hang out. He did it
because he wanted to. Maybe he needed to. To make something great, sometimes it's worth just giving up." - Stereogum

The world is loud. The wind blows hard. We need songs for shelter, and Raymond Raposa can build a shelter from almost anything: the sun-bleached bones of a drum track and a couple spare organ chords; a carpet of creeping synth arpeggios, a scaffolding of multi-tracked harmonies, a few scraps of alto sax to prop up the whole structure. Decimation Blues, Raposa's sixth release as Castanets,
marks a decade of scavenger architecture.

Decimation Blues sees Raposa stepping out in front of the hermetic persona he's crafted over ten years. There have always been shards of pop songs glinting in the dark corners of Castanets records. Here we get whole gleaming edifices. Decimation Blues is the music of a man who's learned to live and build among the wreckage-twelve seemingly offhand, secretly meticulous tracks that we can hunker down in. "Still always good to be alone in someone else's home," Raposa sings. He'll lend us his place, or teach us how to fix up our own. Come in out of the rain, put your shoes by the fire. The walls might shake, the wind might howl, but you'll be safe here a while.

On very short notice, Americana and Canadian Roots artist Corb Lund was given the chance to record an
album at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, TN. There were two challenges, it would be filmed for
a CMT-TV special and he had two days to record. Taking advantage of Sun's recording live-off-the-floor
nature, Corb recorded Counterfeit Blues - an electric, raw and pure homage to the sound of Sun Studios.

    Rhythm & Blues

Double LP Features Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Gary Clark, Jr., Beth Hart And Aerosmith Members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry And Brad Whitford!

Six-time Grammy Award winner and 2012 Kennedy Center Honoree Buddy Guy releases his studio album, Rhythm & Blues, on RCA Records. The follow-up to his 2010 Grammy Award winning album Living Proof, this double-disc masterpiece features first time studio collaborations with A-list artists Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Gary Clark, Jr., Beth Hart and Aerosmith members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford.

Produced by Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter and longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge (Skin Deep, Living Proof), Rhythm & Blues captures the 76 year-young Guy at the peak of his creativity. Replete with heartfelt vocals, straightforward lyrics and mesmerizing guitar licks, Rhythm & Blues not only exemplifies how blues continues to be the foundation of all genres of today's music, it also illustrates why Guy has been influential in the careers of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more.

The Rhythm disc includes rhythm and blues-style blues with deep grooves, such as the Junior Wells' 1960 hit "Messin With The Kid" featuring Kid Rock, the touching "One Day Away" with Keith Urban, and "What You're Gonna Do About Me," a rousing duet with Beth Hart. Guy rounds out the disc with "Best In Town," "Whiskey Ghost," Guitar Slim's "Well I Done Got Over It" and more.

The Blues disc taps into the genre's rich history with "Meet Me In Chicago," "I Could Die Happy," "Never Gonna Change" and "All That Makes Me Happy Is The Blues." Aerosmith's Tyler, Perry and Whitford contribute to the musical lesson with "Evil Twin" while Gary Clark, Jr. joins Guy on "Blues Don't Care."

In a career that spans nearly 50 years with over 50 albums released, the incomparable Buddy Guy recently added the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors and NARM Chairman's Award for Sustained Creative Achievement to his long list of achievements. Guy is the recipient of 30 awards and accolades, including 6 Grammy Awards, 28 Blues Music Awards (formerly W. C. Handy Awards), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, the first annual Great Performer of Illinois Award, a Billboard Music Awards' Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, the Presidential National Medal of Arts, in addition to being listed as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time by Rolling Stone.

    Briefcase Full Of Blues

Celebrate The New Year With Their Classic # 1 Mega Platinum Debut Album

    First Time Audiophile Vinyl Release

Mastered Impeccably From The Authorized & Original1978 Atlantic Records Tapes By Joe "i Got The Blues" Reagoso

After their phenomenal success on Saturday Night Live and a number of smash comedy movies already in
their resume, John Belushi and Dan Akroyd dove headfirst into their love of soul, blues and r & b and began
the Blues Brothers duo, netting them a number one album, top hit singles, a box office smash and acclaim
from purists and blues lovers from all over with their first LP, Briefcase Full Of Blues.

Recorded in 1978 at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, the late great John Belushi and Dan
Akroyd opened a set before comedian and good friend Steve Martin. To the crowd's amazement, the duo
blasted them a blistering rock 'n' blues performance which was captured on tape for their first album Briefcase
Full Of Blues. They later appeared on SNL and the rest as they say is history, as this stunt became reality in no
time and thus began a short lived but amazing piece of rock and blues history.

Released during the holiday season, the album became a number one smash and netted two smash singles
with the classic nod to the Stax sound with Sam & Dave's "Soul Man" as well as the '50s doo wop
    classic, "Rubber Biscuit."

With a stellar musician lineup of classic R & B and traditional blues purists like Steve Cropper and Duck
Dunn from Booker T. & The M.G.'s, Chess Records sideman to the stars Matt "Guitar " Murphy,
saxophone champion Tom Scott and a handful of New York City's finest on the reeds, rounded out with Paul
Shafer on keys, The Blues Brothers were a force to reckon with as their albums would go on to sell in the
millions making them one of the biggest bands in the late seventies into the eighties.

With a stunning set list of righteous blues and soulful interpretations, this masterpiece is filled with nonstop classics like the hard boppin' opener Hey Bartender, blues belters like Junior Wells' "Messin' With The
Kid" and Big Joe Turner's "Flip Flop Fly," plus southern rockers like Delbert McClinton's "'B" Movie Box Car
    Blues."

In addition to these legendary performances, this unique concert recording yielded more with powerhouses
like the smash I Don't Know, King Floyd's Groove Me, and the blues thriller Shot Gun Blues.

Friday Music is no stranger to the blues. Therefore, it is with much honor to announce the first installment
in our Blues Brothers 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with their brilliant masterwork Briefcase Full Of Blues.

    Blues Singer (Pre-Order)

Pressed On 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl

    Housed In A Gatefold Sleeve

Grammy Award 2004 Winner In The Category 'Best Traditional Blues Album'

The album is all acoustic and dedicated to John Lee Hooker with the line, In Memory of John Lee Hooker. You are missed.

Not known for his acoustic work, Buddy Guy unplugs for a rare album-length excursion into folk blues. The guitarist gets down and dirty with 12 tracks that sound like they were recorded after hours in his living room or on his back porch.

Guy's stinging leads are still evident as is his emotive voice, but both are less flamboyant in the unplugged setting. Accompanied by spare stand-up bass and brushed drums, Guy sounds nearly possessed on covers from Skip James (Hard Time Killing Floor), Johnny Shines (Moanin' and Groanin'), Son House (Louise McGhee), and John Lee Hooker (Sally Mae) among others. It's a low-key, low-down affair made for late nights, rainy days, and the saddest of moods.

Guy is just as convincing here--arguably more so--as on his barnstorming electric albums, making Blues Singer one of the bravest and most poignant albums in his catalogue.

The album earned Guy the 2004 Grammy Award for 'Best Traditional Blues Album'.
