    Live From Mars

Ben Harper's first official live album, Live From Mars was culled from two years worth of shows between 1998 and 2000 with no two songs taken from the same concert. The 25 song set surveys each of Harper's first four albums and adds in a couple of covers for good measure. The first half finds Harper and the Innocent Criminals plugged in, tearing through their patented mix of rock, folk, soul and blues while the second half features Harper in a pared down setting, solo on acoustic guitar. All in all, Live From Mars is a welcome and versatile overview of Harper's many musical facets.

    Live From Alabama

In August of 2012, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit assembled in their home state of Alabama in front of a couple of sold-out concert halls to record their first live album, Live From Alabama. After years of hard touring, the critically-lauded band has gelled into a versatile rock and roll squad that is equally at ease performing Muscle Shoals soul to hardcore country to balls-out rock. Live From Alabama's tracklist mines some of Isbell's most popular songs and includes a pair of inspired covers in Neil Young's Like a Hurricane and Candi Staton's Heart on a String.

    Live From York Minster

Laura Marling was still studying for her A-levels when she released her debut single at the start of 2007. She completed her debut album by the end of that year. Raised in a musical household, Marling was playing guitar and writing songs from an early age at the prompting of her folk music loving father. Laura's own musical favourites included artists such as Bonnie Prince Billy and Nina Nastasia, and her early songwriting attempts reflected an influence from the alternative end of the folk scene. After playing a number of local gigs, the 15-year old Marling attracted the attention of Virgin Records who signed her up and released her first three albums. The second of the three, 'I Speak Because I Can', was released on vinyl by Diverse Records on 15th February 2011, the same week she was awarded "Best British Female" at the Brit Awards.

In April of this year, Virgin released a 2CD version of current album 'A Creature I Don't Know'. The second CD featured a live performance from York Minster Cathedral which draws together songs from all three albums and is already a formidable 'greatest hits' set. Diverse Records now presents this stunning live performance as a stand-alone deluxe 180g double LP in a gatefold package.

    Live From Cain's Ballroom

Recorded September 19th, 2013 at "The Event" at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this live album shows that soul never fades. From the first note the first lady of Outlaw Country strikes on her grand piano to the last bombastic chord of her electric band, Jessi Colter shines, overflowing with charm and charisma, and not to mention a few very personal moments. This is the first and only live record Ms. Colter has recorded and such a rare treat wouldn't be complete with it's own twists and turns. Jessi is joined by her son, Shooter, on a few of the tunes, such a humble performance really makes you feel lucky to be able to be there or simulate being there by listening along.

In 2010 Eminem and Jay-Z came up with the idea of a Home & Home Tour. One concert would be performed in Em's hometown of Detroit and the other would be performed in Jigga's stomping grounds of NYC. Hip hop fans went crazy when they first heard about it. Well, it's five years later and fans are still talking about these classic shows. The Detroit show included Eminem and his friends, which are a who's who in the hip hop world. With a performance that lasted over an hour and a half, Em blessed his hometown with all of the classic songs that made him the worldwide phenomenon he is today. Live At Comerica Park keeps Eminem's name ringing in the streets, as it always has. Slim Shady for life.

    Live From Spain

It had been nearly 20 years since Roger McGuinn had last performed in Spain, but in September 2004 the former Byrds leader and two of his treasured and trusty 12-string guitars made their way to the Basque medieval city of Vitoria-Gasteiz for a special solo set at the revered Azkena Rock Festival. And for this magical visit, McGuinn fans will be thrilled to learn, the tape was rolling.

Beautifully recorded by Spanish national radio, this incredibly intimate, 21-song album finds McGuinn chiming his way through glorious versions of Byrds hits (Turn! Turn! Turn!, Eight Miles High, So You Want to Be a Rock n Roll Star, and others) and his trademark inimitable readings of Bob Dylan classics (My Back Pages, Knockin on Heavens Door, and, of course, Mr. Tambourine Man); along the way, the folk-rock icon peppers the program with poignant anecdotes about his career and the songs themselves. Long-time fans, however, will completely swoon over the versions of less-frequently revisited gems like Lover of the Bayou, Jolly Roger, and Drug Store Truck Drivin Man.

    Live From Nowhere In Particular

Live from Nowhere in Particular is the 2008 album from Joe Bonamassa, an US blues guitarist/singer. Guitar One Magazine has stated that 'he just might be the best guitarist of his generation.' His blues-rock style is similar to that of Stevie Ray Vaughan's. In an interview in 'Guitarist' magazine (issue 265), Joe Bonamassa cited the three albums that had the biggest influence on his playing: John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton (the 'Beano Album'), Rory Gallagher's 'Irish Tour' and 'Goodbye' by Cream.

On-the-air since 1976, Austin City Limits has featured more than 500 different regional and internationally acclaimed artists on its stage, presenting the best of America's music from country, blues and folk to rock 'n' roll, bluegrass and zydeco.

Recorded on April 1, 1989 this performance by Waylon Jennings was no April Fools joke. This was the "new" Waylon, both personally and professionally. He had kicked a 20-year drug habit, split with RCA and signed a new deal with MCA Records.

He discovered a passion for songwriting, teamed with legendary producer Jimmy Bowen, and produced some of the best work of his 30-year-plus career. This ACL live set best captures the raw edge and driving urgency that pushed country music way past its Nashville boundaries starting in the mid-1970's.

Includes Waylon's definitive takes on Rodney Crowell's Ain't Living Long Like This, Elvis Presley's Suspicious Minds with wife Jessi Colter and Kris Kristoferson's Me and Bobby McGee along with his own classics Bob Wills Is Still the King and Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way.

Live From Austin, TX (Fats Domino)

In my humble opinion, this is the definitive Fats Domino performance ever captured on camera. First of all, like his hero Louis Armstrong a generation earlier, Fats is synonymous with New Orleans. Not to mention the early days of rock-and-roll. Who doesn't love the infectious lyrics and floating melodies of "Blueberry Hill," "Ain't That A Shame," "I'm Walkin'," "I'm In Love Again" or "Blue Monday?" Music was practically a birthright for Antoine Domino, Jr., one of nine kids from a poor family. He never made it past 4th grade, but he was already playing boogie-woogie piano. By the time he cut his first record at 21, he already stood out from the crowd with his baby face smile, rollicking beat and that magic voice - youthful, warm and rich. Despite all the hits, his records don't do justice to the incredible excitement and energy of his live shows, driven by one of New Orleans' preeminent bandleaders and Fats' mentor, Dave Bartholomew. Fats is notoriously shy, but I pursued him to Las Vegas in my quest to lure him to the ACL stage. I found him in the old Elvis suite at The Flamingo, where he sat in his bathrobe peeling fresh Louisiana shrimp. I don't remember what I said or he said, but it worked - a few weeks later he came to Austin. When Hurricane Katrina hit, Fats had to be rescued from his home, sharing the trauma and devastation with his old neighbors in the Lower Ninth Ward. But don't worry - careers fade and styles change, but the music of Fats Domino is timeless.

Live From Austin, TX (David Byrne)

David Byrne is a modern renaissance man - and that's not just a clichÉ. From the heady days as co-founder of the celebrated art new wave group Talking Heads (1976-88) through his own constantly evolving and innovative solo music career, he has pursued his muse on many different artistic fronts. He's been the driving force behind a body of work that has been both intellectually daring and commercially successful...and he shows no signs of slowing down decades later. This show, captured on November 28, 2001, came on the heels of his hit single, "Like Humans Do" and the release of the album Look Into The Eyeball, which was another typically eclectic musical stew reflecting a variety of styles and influences, from Philly soul to a D.C. Go-Go inspired groove and his first-ever Spanish composition, "Desconocido Soy." Critics at the time called it his best work in years, and his performance on the Austin City Limits stage shows why. Joined by Austin's own eclectic tango ensemble Tosca, Byrne takes us down many different musical roads in his ACL debut. Of course, besides the brilliant songwriter and performer that he is, he's also an accomplished performance artist, photographer, web journalist, film writer/director, composer of motion picture soundtracks, and founder of his own world music label, Luaka Bop Records. He also has a collection of Grammys, Oscars and Golden Globes on his mantel. His music may be complex and poetic, but he makes no bones about his ultimate intent: "I want to move people to dance and cry at the same time.

Widespread Panic: Live From Austin, Texas (Pre-Order)

If you're among the legions of
Widespread Panic fans, you already know
that the band is legendary for never playing the same show twice -
or the same song the same way twice. What makes this performance
that much more special is the inspiring presence of founding member
Michael Houser (whose nickname "Panic" inspired the band's name),
who died of pancreatic cancer less than two years later. As much
as anything, this is a celebration of Houser's life and the sheer joy
he brought to a band that became one of the biggest draws on the
international concert circuit and created a vibe that makes the Panic
experience unique in the pop rock world.

But anybody who knows anything about them knows that
Widespread Panic is so much more than just a jam-happy rock band.
From the time Houser and John Bell ("JB") began playing duets around
Athens, Georgia, in the early 80's, their repertoire ranged from early
covers of the Grateful Dead and Bob Marley to a host of original songs
(among them "Space Wrangler", included here) that demonstrate, as
The Village Voice wrote, "a willingness to dip their collective toe into
just about any genre." This is classic Widespread Panic, including David
Schools on bass, John Hermann on keys, Todd Nance on drums and
    Domingo Ortiz on percussion.

One look at this show and it'll quickly become obvious there
was something strange going on in the house that night. Yes, it was
Halloween, 2000, and the rabid fans went beyond even their usual
hard-core delirium. This was one time the audience almost threatened
    to steal the show!

Live From Austin, TX (Neko Case)

This debut ACL performance on August 9, 2003, captures songs from Neko Case's three seminal solo releases at the time, combining elements of country, gospel and punk for a very unique sound. That's why pundits often find the music hard to classify. Which is a good thing. Her voice has been described as lush, torchy, melancholic - even scary (someone once wrote that "she sings like Patsy Cline's ghost"). She certainly doesn't sound like anything else on today's hit parade. Neko began her career as a drummer in a punk band, but it wasn't long before she started experimenting with songwriting and singing. She also continues to perform as a member of The New Pornographers, but her solo work is where her songwriting skills shine most. As she herself says, "I want to write songs that are timeless...maybe just something more like a novel than a short story." After the show, Neko took the time to write the ACL staff to thank everybody for making her, her band and friends feel so welcome. "I feel very proud of how the show turned out...It's so great to find out that something you admire so much is run by good people. Be proud! You kick ass!" You, too, Neko

Eric Johnson: Live From Austin, Texas (Pre-Order)

Fasten your seatbelts for an extraordinary ride
with guitar hero Eric Johnson. This is the performance that fellow
guitarists, wannabes and fans have been waiting and dying for since this
show first aired in 1989. And for good reason: Johnson's playing has a
way of connecting to fans of every guitar style while still eliciting raves
from the likes of Carlos Santana, Johnny Winter, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray
Vaughan and even country music legend Chet Atkins. His inspirations are
the "3J's:" Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Reed, and Jeff Beck, but his style ranges
wide and free throughout the entirety of guitar history while still infusing
    fresh ideas of his own.

A long-time Austin mainstay, he took up guitar
at age eleven and had his first professional group at fifteen. In 1974, he
defied the musical mainstream by forming Austin's first jazz/rock fusion
band, the Electromagnets, and he's been making guitar history ever since.
"Guitar genius" is an easy phrase to throw around, but when it comes to
blending fires and finesse, Eric Johnson has it all.
