"...a patchwork of diverse musical terrain that ranges from no-wave
electro to Swedish dancehall pop to rambunctious garage rock,
sometimes all within one song." - Portland Mercury

"It's garage rock that sounds like it was recorded at Studio 54 if it
was located in M83." - Paste Magazine

"Wampire come from the John Maus and Ariel Pink school of off-kilter synth pop." - Pitchfork

"Wampire's music is infectious and disarming"
    - Consequence of Sound

Like the tantalizing blend of exotic treasures and captivating
sensations its namesake suggests, Bazaar continually offers
listeners a variety of unexpected and alluring sonic flavors over
the course of its nine tracks -- ranging from raucous riffs ("Bad
Attitude") to seductive sax ("Wizard Staff") to charmingly catchy
    choruses ("The Amazing Heart Attack").

As with their previous full-length Curiosity, Wampire recorded
Bazaar with trusted producer Jacob Portrait (of Unknown Mortal
Orchestra), though this time around the sessions took place at The
Museum, a studio in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood, and
    were done directly to tape.

    Screen Memories (Pre-Order)

John Maus is a truly enigmatic musician. Broadly cut from the synth pop cloth, he's fashioned the
frosty minimalism of its fabric into a cloak of infinite meaning, genuine grace and absurdist humor
over the course of three defining albums since 2006. His music is a highly mutable affair, whilst
often described as retro-futurist on behalf of the 80's drum machines and synth sounds employed,
John's music is more personal than the nostalgic re-tread implied. There's a cinematic quality to
his songs, with pathos conjured through propelling bass-lines, trailing arpeggios and of course his
deeply resonant vocal. Moroder helped map out the territory but Maus is more interested in seeking
cadence through his love of Renaissance polyphony and the experimentation behind post punk. It's
an amalgamation of musical ideas as radical as its intent.

Maus is a "man out of time" trying to make sense of the inhumanity of our world through his
mobilisation of the language of punk rock. His aim is true as he reaches for the seemingly impossible.
It's a want to emerge as part of greater multiplicity, to appear, to become, to connect that powers his
    songs and the man himself.

It's now been six years since the widely lauded 2011's 'We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of
Ourselves' appeared like a thunderbolt of maniacal energy and turned everyone's heads. Now
regarded an experimental pop classic, Pitiless Censors was a huge breakthrough for Maus as a
recognised artist and led to a vast reappraisal of his past work. Debut album 2006's Songs and the
masterful follow up 2008's Love Is Real sounded better than ever the second time round for this
groundswell of new followers. After touring Pitiless Censors around the world and pulling together
a collection of rarities and unreleased tracks, Maus then returned to academic pursuits. In 2014, he
was awarded a doctorate in Political Philosophy for his dissertation on communication and control.
Shortly thereafter, he began building his own modular synthesizer, etching the printed circuit boards,
soldering components, and assembling panels, until he had an instrument that matched his vision.
With this prodigious task completed Maus turned his hand back to song writing and began work on
what is now his fourth album proper Screen Memories.

'Screen Memories' was written, recorded, and engineered by Maus over the last few years in his
home in Minnesota, known genially as the Funny Farm. It's a solitary place situated in the corn plains
of rural American Midwest. The landscape is as majestic as it is austere and inevitably some of the
sub-zero winter temperatures creep into the songs as do the buzzing wasps of summer.

Through the whole album Maus has an undeniable talent in grasping the mettle of each song,
reaching within and building up a sincere core, before teasing out the edges in acknowledgement to
the very ridiculousness of its existence. Rather than creating these songs through an enjoyment of the
process Maus considers himself more in the role of someone discovering them buried just beneath
the surface. Perhaps the songs presented here are the ones that mask his real intentions, Freud
pressing record and turning the TV channel to snow. All we can be certain of now though is that John
Maus is back and he sounds gloriously alive. The triumph of the human is upon us and all the false
gods and bad jokes will be the first to fall.

STRANGER THINGS is the breakout Netflix original series set in 1983 Indiana where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. A love letter to the '80s supernatural classics that captivated a generation, STRANGER THINGS stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Matthew Modine, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton. The series is now streaming on Netflix globally.

Formed in 2009, the prolific Austin, TX experimental synth quartet S U R V I V E have released two full-lengths and numerous EPs / singles since their inception, including recent contributions to the soundtrack for the acclaimed indie horror film The Guest. Additionally, two of the group's members recently scored the soundtrack for the first season of STRANGER THINGS, launched this summer on Netflix. S U R V I V E has appeared at esteemed festivals across the US including Moogfest, Levitation Fest, Fun Fun Fun, Beserktown, Day in The Desert, Decibel, etc. and have played alongside acts like Goblin, John Maus, Tame Impala, Lightning Bolt, This Will Destroy You, A Place To Bury Strangers, Max Cooper, and many others; Noisey even called their live show ''transcendental.''

Now, S U R V I V E have completed self recording their second full length via their home studios, which will see a September 30 via Relapse. The synth quartet's sophomore full length and Relapse debut is a dark, sweeping exercise in analog synth mastery. The pulsating, 9-song instrumental release showcases immense diversity between tracks - RR7349's compositions range from grim tom-tom thunder to space-age epics, pairing tense plodding grooves with meditative ambience and driving, rhythmic beats. Inspired by IDM and horror scores alike, RR7349 is simultaneously ominous and hopeful; tense and relaxed; percussive and melodic. A unique addition to the Relapse discography, and unquestionably S U R V I V E's best work to date.

    Hypnophobia

Hypnophobia, the brand new album from 'baroque pop' prince and
Dutch producer/multi-instrumentalist Jacco Gardner, casts a majestic
and vibrant psychedelic spell that will hypnotise listeners at the point
    dreams and reality meet.

Capturing a true sense of exploration, Hypnophobia combines
Gardner's newfound love of travel with his continued passion for
collecting and playing vintage instruments. A stunning exhibit of lush
instrumental tracks as well as songs that boast lyrics worthy of any
great pop number, the record features a Wurlitzer electric piano that
was purchased on tour, waltzing alongside mellotrons, harpsichords,
an Optigan, and an antique Steinway upright piano sold to Gardner by
    a local church.

Akin to the sonic boom of maverick contemporaries John Maus, and
Tame Impala, his is a sound that holds fast next to fellow paisley
performers Syd Barrett and Curt Boettcher, with the airy dynamics of
Stereolab or Simon & Garfunkel. Yet what truly marks Gardner from
his musical ancestors and accomplices is his forward-thinking, hi-tech
approach; "Hypnophobia is the next step into an alternate reality
influenced by the present. I'm so inspired by today's technology that
many things I do were not possible in the past."

We Must Become The Pitless Censors Of Ourselves (Out Of Stock)

John Maus lives in his birthplace of Austin, Minnesota. Whilst working towards his PhD in Political Science, he also composes music that taps into melancholic fantasy and affirms that we are all truly alive. Questing synthesizers, tensely strung bass lines and chasing drum machines providing the perfect backdrop for Johns deeply resonant reverb-drenched vocal. Born in the decade of synth pop and sharing his birthday with George Frideric Handel, John started making music when Nirvana posters went up on every teenagers wall. Its this curious conflux of influences that partially helps to describe Johns music. Its a world where the Germs jam with Jerry Goldsmith, Cabaret Voltaire relocate to Eternia and Josquin des Prez writes a new score for RoboCop. The confrontation of punk, the fleeting poignancy of '80s movie soundtracks, the insistent pulse of Moroder and the spirituality of Medieval and Baroque music all find salvation in John Maus.

Johns debut album proper entitled Songs was released through Upset The Rhythm in 2006. It was a record permeated with aching memories; a perfect testimony to lost romance and longing. Its awe-inspired follow-up Love Is Real (released on UTR, 2007) proved a more cohesive listen in terms of focus and emotional depth. Maus returned last year to the heavy snows of the Midwest to finish album number three, We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves.

We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves breaks new ground for Maus. The shirt pulling and air punching of his impassioned live performance is finally captured in all its frenzied appeal alongside a tender inner space that wasnt as apparent on his previous albums. Its a record where promise takes the lead for the first time, providing a counterpoint to Johns default existential calling.

A Collection Of Rarities And Previously Unreleased Material (Out Of Stock)

Ribbon Music's inaugural signing was Minnesotan pop enigma John Maus and his album We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves was released in June of 2011 in North America. They will now release on behalf of John Maus, throughout the world, a sixteen song collection of music spanning eleven years of creative output titled A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material.

Of the sixteen songs showcased, five: "This is the Beat," "Castles in the Grave," "No Title (Molly)," "Bennington" and "My Hatred is Magnificent" have appeared on previous compilations, while two of the songs "Angel of the Night" and "Lost" have never been released on any format, nor across any media. The same can not be said of the remaining nine songs, the majority of which initially appeared on Demos 2011, a bundle of tracks originating from mausspace.com where they had been uploaded by their creator to be appreciated, if not reviewed, by those eager enough to search them out.

A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material has been entirely remixed and remastered and features artwork and design by Turner Prize winning artist Wolfgang Tillmans. This LP version is limited to a one time worldwide pressing of 3000 hand numbered copies and includes an MP3 download card.
