    Tell Me

Includes CD of the complete album.

This uncommonly mature 21-year-old singer/songwriter's Nonesuch debut balances the warm-hearted with the cold-blooded. Tell Me is a stunningly forthright 11-song set that addresses late-night longing, serial heartbreak and intoxicatingly dangerous liaisons conducted in dimly lit barrooms or roadside motels. By the end, the only heart intact is Mayfield's own. It's as if she'd stripped the sentimentality and ruefulness from a bunch of classic country songs, leaving only stark emotion. The Black Keys' singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach, who produced and engineered Tell Me at his Easy Eye Sound System studio in Akron, Ohio, matches Mayfield's candor with eerily minimal, brilliantly constructed tracks that keep her mesmerizing, unadorned voice front and center.

    Make My Head Sing...

Make My Head Sing , the new album from acclaimed singer and musician Jessica Lea Mayfield, will be released on ATO Records. Co-produced
by Mayfield and her collaborator, bassist and husband Jesse Newport, the ten-song album was recorded at Nashville's Club Roar studio. Of the new
music Mayfield comments, "The whole record is just me and Jesse and my drummer Matt Martin. I think a lot of my favorite bands are guitar, bass, and
drums. I wanted to simplify things. Bands are so big these days, I wanted to get in the studio and make a rock record and hear real guitar tones and
    something heavy."

The new album follows Mayfield's 2011 release, Tell Me, which was produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach and was described by Rolling Stone,
which named her an Artist to Watch, as "a disarming collision of stark country balladry, dynamic alternative rock and arty electronic pop." Additionally the
Associated Press asserted, "Tell Me is the portrait of a precocious girl growing into self-assured womanhood and a producer reaching the peak of his
powers. It is a dark and moody album, full of delights throughout, and if it doesn't make Mayfield a star, that too will be heartbreaking," while Spin
Magazine included Mayfield in their "The Next Big Things: 11 Artists You Must Hear in 2011" feature, calling her a "smart-ass country-rock ingÉnue." She
also made her network television debut on the "Late Show with David Letterman," performing the album's first single, "Our Hearts Are Wrong," which NPR
Music praised as " genuinely moving."

    Keep It Hid

Nonesuch Records releases Keep It Hid, the solo debut from singer/songwriter/guitarist Dan Auerbach, best known as half of The Black Keys. While working on and touring in support of The Black Keys most recent album, Attack & Release, Auerbach also was writing songs that would become Keep It Hid. This record is a mixture of things I like to listen to, psychedelia, soul music, country harmonies, says Auerbach. In February Auerbach will begin a national tour with performances in New York City, Boston and Washington, DC. Opening acts for the tour will include Those Darlins and Hacienda, the latter also lending support as Auerbachs backing band.

Keep It Hid was produced and engineered by Auerbach at his studio, Akron Analog and features him playing a variety of instruments, including drums, guitar, percussion and keyboards. Many of Auerbachs friends and family play on the album, including his uncle James Quine, who contributes vocal harmony and electric guitar on the track Street Walkin. Other musicians include fellow Ohioans Jessica Lea Mayfield, who sings on the track When the Night Comes, and Bob Cesare, who plays drums on Whispered Words, a song originally written by Auerbachs father. Of the recording process Auerbach states, I wanted a live, organic sound. Nothing was too plotted or planned, just a lot of spontaneity. The record was mixed by Auerbachs good friend Mark Neill at Neills Soil of the South studio.

With his Black Keys bandmate Patrick Carney, Auerbach has recorded five critically acclaimed full-length albums, beginning with 2002s The Big Come Up. In 2008, Attack & Release debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #14, marking The Black Keys highest position to date. The New York Times called it a savage, bitter concoction built on a snarling punk-rock riff, while the Los Angeles Times called it without doubt the Keys most dynamic effort yet. Auerbach also has been busy with his own record label, Polymer Sounds, for which he produced the 2008 debut from Jessica Lea Mayfield, With Blasphemy, So Heartfelt; Pitchfork praised Mayfields album as fascinating and endlessly listenable.

    Attack & Release

Until now, guitarist-singer Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney of the Black Keys took an extreme do-it-yourself approach to record making, hunkering down in a basement studio or setting up equipment in one of the abandoned factories of their native Akron, Ohio. Their modus operandi was more seance than session. With a minimal set of tools, they conjured up a big, swaggering blues-rock sound, seemingly drawn from some distant time and place yet too weirdly original to ever be called retro. As Rolling Stone put it in a review of their 2006 Nonesuch debut, Magic Potion, Pure blues rock of this caliber is really timeless.

For this album, however, the Black Keys decided not to go it alone: Attack and Release is the result of one of the most audacious and eagerly awaited collaborations in alternative rock history. As producer, Auerbach and Carney chose Danger Mouse, the mega-eclectic sonic mastermind behind the Grammy Award-winning Gnarls Barkley's St. Elsewhere and its multi-format hit, Crazy, as well as the music-industry provocateur who created the mother of all mash-ups, The Grey Album. The Black Keys also deigned to work at an established studio, albeit one within driving distance of Akron. Suma Recording, a legendary spot in northeast Ohio renowned for its supply of great vintage gear, provided just the right ambience for the guys. As Carney put it, with genuine affection, Suma smells like a moldy cabin and looks like a haunted house.

On Attack and Release, Danger Mouse is more creative co-conspirator than traditional figure behind the boards. He doesn't radically alter the duo's sound so much as coax out more of its inherent soulfulness, groove and bittersweet emotion. Two versions of Remember When illustrate how the duo can swing easily from smoldering ballad to thrashing rocker. I'm more pleased with the sound of this record than any one we've ever made, says Carney, and Auerbach concurs: We never let it all go like we did for this one, anything was game. It was just fun to make, and that's why I think it's so successful. The band adds more instrumentation to their mix, including piano, organ and moog synthesizer. Danger Mouse fashions subtle special effects, like the ghostly background choir that surfaces on the moody I Got Mine, which sounds as if it were samples from some old Warner Bros. cartoon. The Black Keys also invited in a few special guests: guitarist Marc Ribot and clarinetist-flautist (and Pat's uncle) Ralph Carney, both veterans of Tom Waits' band and players on countless avant-rock/jazz/noise session. Jessica Lea Mayfield a/k/a Chittlin, an impressive 18 year-old bluegrass/country singer from Kent, Ohio, sings alongside a heart-breakingly plaintive Auerbauch on the slow-dance final cut, Things Ain't Like They Used to Be

    Pressed On Clear Vinyl

Jessica Lea Mayfield might make some people uncomfortable with the level of honesty she projects on her
forthcoming LP, Sorry Is Gone, but she's not going to apologize - for that, or for anything else on her complex,
confessional fourth album, recorded with producer John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Dinosaur Jr., Phosphorescent), and
featuring guest appearances from Seth Avett and Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth).

    Sing Elliott Smith

The title is about as self-explanatory as could be: 'Seth Avett & Jessica Lea
Mayfield sing Elliott Smith.' 12 songs originally written by the acclaimed and wellloved
Smith, performed by 2 artists, currently known for their contributions to the
indie folk rock landscape. The recordings are, in many cases, defined by bare
instrumentation, driven by a simple yet bold vocal delivery, the depth of feeling
    complimenting that of the subject matter. This album is an obvious labor of love;
a comment based on the genuine reverence which Avett and Mayfield clearly
hold for Smith. At times, the songs feel light as a feather, while in others, thematically
leaden with heartache, they are given a deep breath, a different dimension,
a new color. In modern fashion, melodies intensely whispered by Elliott Smith
are sung in a harmonious way, akin to the folk aesthetic of Gillian Welch and
