    Candy Girl

When Maurice Starr uncovered the talents of a Roxbury vocal group in the early '80s at a talent show at Dorchester's storied Strand Theater he saw the second coming of the Jackson 5. The boys didn't win the completion (they came in second) but they did win a deal with Starr & Streetwise records. Starr came up with the name New Edition (as in a new edition of the Jackson 5) and started recording with the boys the day after the talent show at the Strand. This group of kids (all under 15) had their first single "Candy Girl" shoot to #1 on the Billboard R&B Charts. This led them to their debut album, also titled Candy Girl, which had a lot of pop/early hip hop influences, yet still has a classic R&B feel. Other hits such as "Popcorn Love" and "Ohh Girl" and the slow burner of "Is This the End" make this album well rounded and no surprise as to why they went on to become one of the biggest R&B groups ever. The success of New Edition led to Bobby Brown's solo career, the success of Bell Biv DeVoe and served as a template for the "boy bands" that followed. But don't let that last line fool you, this album packs a bite with solid production and hooks for days.

    Black Moses

This double LP, released on Stax Records' Enterprise label in 1971, was the follow-up to Hayes' successful soundtrack for Shaft. Black Moses features
Hayes' version of The Jackson 5's hit single Never Can Say Goodbye which became a hit in its own right, peaking at number 22 on the Billboard Hot
    100. The sheer front-to-back strength of this double-LP set has made Black Moses one of Isaac Hayes' most enduringly revered and best-known works. A
watershed album for the multi-instrumental singer/songwriter and producer, it only served to further cement his reputation as a progressive soul artist
capable of unmistakably original arrangements and genre-defining R&B mastery. This new vinyl reissue is a must-have for all serious soul and R&B fans.

First Time 180 Gram Vinyl Presentation

Mastered From The Original Atlantic Records Tapes By Joe Reagoso

In 1979, superstar R&B veterans The Spinners were rewarded by their label Atlantic Records with their first
greatest hits album simply titled The Best of Spinners. Featuring the classic line-up of the Phillipe Soul Wynn,
Henry Fambrough, Pervis Jackson, Bobbie Smith and Billy Henderson, these Detroit superstars ruled the charts
for many soulful years. Featuring a ton of smash hits produced and written by the likes of Philly favorites Thom
Bell and Linda Creed, and featuring The Sound Of Philadelphia and Motown players like MFSB, and the Funk
Brothers' Bob Babbit, The Best of Spinners album has become one of their most loved works in their stunning
    gold and platinum career.

With superlative chart topping pop and R&B classics like Could It Be I'm Falling In Love, I'll Be Around and
Mighty Love, plus brilliant dance smashes like The Rubberband Man, The Best of Spinners album would go on
to become one of the best-selling albums in their extensive catalog. The long out of print original version of this
greatest hits masterpiece also includes the history making duet with Dionne Warwick and their chart topper
    Then Came You.

Dig deeper into the Philly and Detroit grooves and there you find even more platinum plus treasures like
the masterful One of a Kind (Love Affair), the powerful They Just Can't Stop It the (Games People Play) plus the
tender ballads Sadie and How Could I Let You Get Away, making The Best of Spinners one of the finest overviews
    ever of this stellar supergroup.

Therefore it is with much excitement to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of the
legendary Spinners greatest hits masterpiece The Best of Spinners. Mastered impeccably by Joe "Philly Soul"

100 Best Debut Albums of All Time- Rolling Stone

Okay, I know that Joe Jackson isn't exactly an unknown, but how many of you revere (or even own) this, his first album. And what an album it is! As well as the timeless Is She Really Going Out With Him? you get One More Time, Sunday Papers, Happy Loving Couples, Baby Stick Around and Fools In Love, most of them on a first side that hits it out of the park. Indeed, if it wasn't for Fools (possibly the best song here) many a record out there would be mint condition on side two. Happy coincidence meant that Jackson's poignant and acerbic observations on life and love, along with his impressive musical training and heritage collided headlong with the UK New Wave, opening wide the opportunities for his bitter-sweet songs.

His material and delivery draw inevitable comparisons with Elvis Costello, but for me, Jackson is a cut above our Declan. Of course, that might be home-town familiarity speaking and Joe and the boys were an ever-present part of the live music wall-paper while I was at college, but then The Cure, The Banshees and The Attractions were too, if on a more revolving basis, so he had plenty of competition for my attention and affections. But what makes this album stick is the sheer quality of the lyrics. Even an out and out rocker like One More Time has an observant intelligence and almost painful honesty, while Fools and Is She have stood the test of time, shored up by the barbed familiarity of their outsider's stance and subtly twisted viewpoint. These are songs that speak not just for their generation but all the generations that have followed.

The vocal is all angst and attitude, with driven riffs, bass that goes deep and drums that stay hit. What's not to like about a record that captures the life and energy of a classic four-piece rock band in full, uninhibited, unabashed overdrive. Me - I love it! -Roy Gregory,

Look Sharp! is sourced from the best tape currently available, a beautifully preserved ½" "safety copy" of the original stereo master. When mastering this LP we compared what we were getting off the tape to an original A&M UK LP. While great sounding overall, the original LP is of course a very edgy sounding New Wave, post-punk record with a brashness that borders on being outright bright sounding. Where the aggressive top -end energy is concerned, the tapes showed no discenible age! We were able to maintain that grungy edge, but also restore the driving bass lines and bottom-end foundation that were on these tapes. The result is the best-sounding Look Sharp! anyone's ever heard, with all the drive and pop of the original UK release, but with superb tonal balance, imaging and clarity. The definitive issue of this iconic New Wave classic!

    Ben Folds Five - Live

ImAVeePee Records/Sony Music is proud to release Ben Folds Five Live, the
rst live album from piano-pop trio Ben Folds Five. Recorded in 2012 on their
rst tour in more than a decade, this new set - available on CD and doublevinyl - will be the perfect prelude to the band's spot on the Last Summer on
Earth Tour, which will see Ben Folds Five lling amphitheaters across America
    alongside Barenaked Ladies and Guster.

For longtime fans of Ben Folds' biting, piano-based power-pop songs, the
past two years have been full of excitement. In 2011, Folds reunited with
bassist Robert Sledge and drummer Darren Jessee to record the rst new
Ben Folds Five songs since 1999 for the career-spanning compilation The
Best Imitation Of Myself: A Retrospective. Inspired by the collaborative spark
after so many years apart, the trio reconvened in Folds' Nashville studio to
record their fourth studio album, The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind. The
album was an immediate hit, peaking within Billboard's Top 10 - the band's
    highest-charting release.

Ben Folds Five consistently thrills audiences with their high energy performances, and Ben Folds Five Live captures the band in top form across four
continents through 2012 and 2013. The band deliver powerful renditions of
their most beloved classics like "Jackson Cannery," "Brick" and "Song For The
Dumped" as well as new hits from The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind, including "Do It Anyway," "Draw A Crowd" and "Sky High."

    Bad 25

Ranked 202/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The era of BAD represented Michael Jackson's creative peak as a solo artist. BAD was the first album on which nearly all of the songs were written
by Michael and also was the first album in history to produce FIVE consecutive #1 singles - a success that took 2 ½ decades for another artist to
match. BAD produced nine chart-topping singles, nine ground breaking short films and to date, the Bad album has generated over 45 Million units in sales. BAD was nominated for six Grammys and won two; the album earned Michael the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs. It was also the first time Michael would tour the world as a solo artist. The enormous success of the BAD album and tour was a pivotal moment in Michael's growth as a composer, performer and producer cementing his role as the King of Pop.
Now, twenty-five years after the phrase "Who's Bad" became a generation's cultural catchphrase, the legendary album will be celebrated with the release of Bad (25th Anniversary Edition) (LP Version)

    Plenty, Plenty Soul

Although his name will forever be associated with the celebrated Modern Jazz Quartet, vibraphonist Milt Jackson's discography includes multiple sessions as a leader, many of which are now regarded as jazz classics. Among the crown jewels of his discography was the album Plenty, Plenty Soul, which was given a rating of five stars in Down Beat magazine in 1957, a collection of original compositions and the arrangements of the one and only Quincy Jones. A stone cold classic featuring Cannonball Adderly, Horace Silver, Art Blakey and more. Pressed on 180 gram audiophile vinyl.

Recorded in the studio with his touring band, the album has a loose, bright feel, grounded, of course, by Parker's brand of jazz-tinged soul funk. Highlights include long, muscular sax workouts on "Basic Funk: 101" and the Jackson 5's "ABC," both of which stretch out to over eight minutes in length, and Parker's vocal duet with fellow alto sax player (and fellow Prince alum) Candy Dilfer on Sam Cooke's "What a Wonderful World."

Booker T. & The MG's smoked the charts once again in 1967 with the fabulously slinky Hip Hug-Her -just like they'd never left. As house band for Memphis' Stax Records, backing Otis Redding, Sam & Dave and Wilson Pickett, the MG's had written the book on instrumental soul music, and the Hip Hug-Her album impeccably testifies to the greatness of Booker T. Jones, Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn and Alvin Jackson. MG's versions of the Young Rascals' Groovin' and Bobby Hebb's Sunny were so downright in-the-groove, they became big hits themselves all over again. The Blackbyrds

The debut album by the American rhythm and blues/jazz-funk fusion group, The Blackbyrds, this eponymous release is the product of six full-time Howard
University students taking the direction of department head and jazz great Donald Byrd into the Fantasy Studios along with the aid of production wizard
Larry Mizell (Jackson 5, Gary Bartz). The end result is nothing less than stunning as the band lays down some of the tastiest groove-oriented jazz music
ever recorded. With Joe Hall on bass and Keith Killgo on drums, the rhythm section anchors a solid foundation capable of keeping the dancefloor full and
providing a base for the rest of the band's soulful explorations. Kevin Toney supplies supple keyboard work and Barney Perry keeps it funky on the guitar,
setting the pace for what would be a genre-defining LP and a breakthrough in jazz-funk crossover. Essential listening for all fans of jazz, funk, and feel good pop music.

Featuring ''Fools In Love'', ''Is She Really Going Out With Him?'' And ''It's Different For Girls''

Joe Jackson's debut single, ''Is She Really Going Out With Him?'', was not an immediate hit; however, by the time his debut album Look Sharp! was released, the song had reached charts in the U.K. and U.S., earning him a gold record. For the follow-up, he produced the top 5 hit ''It's Different For Girls'', Joe received the highest musical accolade of the Netherlands, the Edison Award.

After two edgy new wave pop records, his next tracks included some reggae influences such as the tracks ''One to One'' and ''Mad At You'', while ''Jumpin' Jive'' - recorded with jazz musicians - was full of old jump blues and swing tunes.

The huge commercial success came with his crafted pop songs ''Steppin' Out'' and jazzy ''Breaking Us In Two'' climbing the charts worldwide. Joe Jackson produced even jazzier hits in 1984 such as ''Happy Ending'', (a duet with Elaine Caswell), ''Be My Number Two'' and ''You Can't Get What You Want''.

The album Big World (1986), a live album of entirely new material including ''Home Town'', was recorded during six concerts. It is not a regular live album though, the audience was asked to be quiet during the songs and the applause was edited out.

The pop song ''Nineteen Forever'' was part of a larger construction from the album Blaze Of Glory, designed to tell a semi-autobiographical story. In 1991 Joe Jackson decided to abandon pop once and for all in favor of more serious music. It spawned the track ''Stranger Than Fiction''.

    Christmas Island

Christmas Island, the 5th album proper from Phoenix, Arizona's Andrew Jackson Jihad, is a little bit silly, a little bit serious. It's a
record that's irreverent yet somber, full of humor and full of pathos, its
twelve songs combining the two to create a record that truly cuts right
to the bone of the human condition. They've built a signicant cult
following since their inception in 2004, one that knows just how heart
breaking, heart warming, and inspiring their shambolic songs can be.
The tension between fury and forgiveness, between anger and calm,
between love and hate and life and death, isn't just thematic, but
weaved into in the sonic fabric of these songs. Christmas Island - it's
far from a random title, but it's also kind of a secret - is simultaneously
ridiculous and sublime in the way that Andrew Jackson Jihad always
have been. It's a record absolutely in keeping with their bold and
brilliant past - the one their cult following has been following for
years - but it's also a bold and brilliant step forward.

    I Don't Want To Cry

Growing up in Pittsburgh, Chuck Jackson witnessed first-hand the rise of the city's vibrant doo wop scene. Joining local heroes the Del Vikings, his smooth, commanding voice took the lead on their 1957 single "Willette." Going solo in 1959, Jackson was spotted by producer/Wand Records A&R man Luther Dixon while opening for Jackie Wilson at the Apollo Theater. With Dixon, Jackson co-wrote his first hit, "I Don't Want to Cry." The track featured a lavish band arrangement, a style Dixon had perfected during his sessions with the Shirelles. Together, Jackson and Dixon carefully crafted I Don't Want to Cry! (1961), Jackson's debut LP. A concept album dedicated to songs about crying, it finds Jackson covering mentor Wilson ("Lonely Teardrops") as well as an early Burt Bacharach-Hal David composition ("I Wake Up Crying"). Audibly in command, Jackson's vocals blend seamlessly with Dixon's arrangements, resulting in an astonishingly accomplished album. Working from the original analog reels, Sundazed has mastered this landmark LP in the rare true stereo mix. Pressed at R.T.I. on lush 180 gram vinyl, every string swell, every horn phrase and, most importantly, every vocal performance comes through in "you are there" clarity. No collection is complete without this Brill Building classic!

    Rockin' With Wanda!

Jackson's third LP, Rockin' With Wanda! was originally released in 1960. Her finest album, it contains a dozen sides waxed between 1956 and 1959. Included are the iconic rockabilly hits, Fujiyama Mama, Honey Bop, Hot Dog! That Made Him Mad, Rock Your Baby, and the self-penned Mean Mean Man. In contrast, You've Turned to a Stranger is sung as a twangy country ballad, and I Gotta Know splits in time between rockabilly and waltz. The great Buck Owens adds world-class guitar picking and hot licks, and on some cuts, her own band, The Poe Kats, are captured with black rockabilly keyboardist Big Al Downing. Also featuring accompaniment by Joe Maphis and Ralph Mooney, among other luminaries, Wanda Jackson is utterly authoritative on everything she sings.

Jonathan Jackson is a five-time Daytime EMMY Award-winning actor for his role in General Hospital, and currently stars in the ABC primetime drama Nashville. Jonathan is also known for his roles in film, including Columbia's Deep End of the Ocean Disney's Tuck Everlasting and Warner Bros. Insomnia.

The foundations of Jonathan Jackson and his band Enation started with brothers Jonathan and Richard Jackson. Having been raised in Battle Ground, WA they moved to Hollywood, CA to pursue careers as actors at the ripe ages of 10 and 13. Music was in their blood, as their father Ricky Lee Jackson was a Nashville recording country music artist. Jonathan picked up the guitar and began writing songs and Richard had been playing drums since elementary school. Sibling rivalry turned into a synergy of complementary talent as the brothers began to play music together over the ensuing years, culminating in the partnership that is currently Enation along with longtime friend bass player Daniel Sweatt. The band spent the past year recording Radio Cinematic in Nashville, TN. Richard is also an actor who has appeared in film and television, most recently in Grimm.

Vibraphonist Milt Jackson and tenor saxophonist John Coltrane make for a surprisingly complementary team on this 1959 studio session, their only joint recording. With fine backup by pianist Hank Jones, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Connie Kay, Bags and Trane stretch out on two of Jackson's originals (including The Late Late Blues) and three standards: a romping Three Little Words, The Night We Called It a Day, and the rapid Be-Bop.

In the original liner notes for Chuck Jackson on Tour (1964), Bob King describes Jackson "a man with pent up talent." Consequently, this LP is the sound of that talent erupting all over the stage of the famed Apollo Theater, the same venue where Jackson had been discovered a few years earlier. Jackson leads the airtight band through raw, sweat-soaked versions of his hits "I Wake Up Crying" and "Any Day Now," giving the audience their money's worth and more. He also includes well-chosen covers, like Marvin Gaye's "Stubborn Kind of Fellow," Ben E. King's "Stand by Me" and the King of the Apollo himself, James Brown's "Please Please Please." In a true testament to his ability, he makes each of these songs his own, infusing every line with deep emotion. If you only know him from his smoothly-orchestrated studio recordings, Chuck Jackson on Tour will give you an entirely new take on this legendary performer. Working from the original Wand analog reels, Sundazed has mastered this explosive album in the rare true stereo mix for an immersive listening experience. H.R. Is A Dirty Guitar Player

In the pantheon of under-the-radar American guitar heroes, Howard Roberts looms large. A remarkably versatile musician who was one of Los Angeles' most in-demand session players from the early 1950s through the 1970s, Roberts' career encompassed an incredible array of studio assignments. He recorded with a dizzying assortment of acts, including Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, the Beach Boys, the Monkees, Dean Martin, Sonny and Cher, the Jackson 5, Peggy Lee, Eddie Cochran, Chet Atkins and the Electric Prunes. He also played on countless film and television soundtracks; his guitar work is featured prominently in the iconic theme music of The Twilight Zone, The Munsters and I Dream of Jeannie.

Roberts was also an accomplished musical educator, co-founding Hollywood's Guitar Institute of Technology, writing a regular instructional column on jazz improvisation for Guitar Player magazine, and penning several highly-regarded guitar instruction books. As a guitar teacher, one of his students was a teenaged Phil Spector, for whom Roberts would later work as a session man.

Impressive as his session resume is, for many guitar aficionados, the real highlights of Howard Roberts' body of work are the instrumental albums he released under his own name throughout his career. One of his best-loved solo releases is the memorably titled H.R. Is A Dirty Guitar Player, originally released by Capitol Records in 1963. Recorded at the legendary Studio A in the Capitol Tower, with a band that includes fellow studio legends Chuck Berghofer and Earl Palmer on bass and drums, H.R. Is A Dirty Guitar Player is a potent showcase for Roberts' fluid, swinging guitar work. The material offers ample opportunity for the artist to demonstrate his versatility, encompassing pop standards 9Lerner, Loewe If Ever I Would Leave You), bossa nova (Antonio Carlos Jobim's One Note Samba) and jazz (tunes by Herbie Hancock, Count Basie and Duke Ellington), along with such Roberts originals as Smolderin', Turista, Deep Fry and Dirty Old Bossa Nova.

Long unavailable in its original form, this vintage instrumental gem has been restored to its original vinyl glory by Sundazed Music. The album has been sourced from the original stereo masters and pressed on 180 gram vinyl, with complete original cover art.

That's No Way To Get Along

Seminal American blues guitarist and vocalist Robert Wilkins (1896-1987) played on the
Memphis blues scene at the same time as Furry Lewis, Son House, Charley Patton and Memphis
Minnie, and was versatile in a range of styles, including ragtime, blues, minstrel and gospel.
These recordings cover his early years as a recording artist, from his debut recording session for
Victor in 1928, which yielded the famous Rolling Stone, plus three more tracks, followed by 8
more tracks recorded for Vocalion in 1929-30, which included the legendary That's No Way To
Get Along / aka Prodigal Son (famously covered by the Rolling Stones). The final 5 tracks were
recorded in Jackson, Miss. in 1935 and feature a second guitar player and a spoons player,
resulting in the production of another classic, Old Jim Canan's. In 1935 Wilkins left secular
music altogether, becoming an ordained minister and herbalist. He was, however, rediscovered in
the 1960s during the blues revival and played various festivals during this time, including
    Newport.

Vivian 'Yabby You' Jackson is today regarded as one of Jamaica's finest producers of the classic Roots Reggae era. In 1980, Island Records' acquisition

Clarity is coming. Once rumoured to be a guise of the elusive Jai Paul, producer Clarence Clarity re-emerges from the shadows with 'Who Am Eye' EP, a full year after he announced that he'd finished recording it. Patience is a virtue, though, and lead track 'Those Who Can't, Cheat' is a marvel - a skewed pop oddity full of Prince-style hooks and the occasional Bhangra breakdown. Up until now Clarence Clarity was an anonymous artist from London who sounds like Michael Jackson in a psychotic state. This is the way that Jackson's zombie character in 'Thriller' would have sounded like if he had his own career.
