    Innuendo

Queen are proud to announce the re-release of their entire studio album catalog on remastered long playing heavyweight vinyl. The album packaging will include every detail of the original releases in their original 12 format. Bonus posters, extra pictures and all the unique content of the original albums will be faithfully reproduced. The next 5 albums include the very first album, Queen, along with News Of The World, Flash Gordon, A Kind of Magic and Innuendo, with successive releases coming approximately every six months.

1991's Innuendo would be Queen's last album with founding member Freddie Mercury as he passed away several months after its release. A fitting end to one of rock's most successful original line-ups, Innuendo brilliantly balances blatant autobiographical songs like These Are The Days of Our Lives and The Show Must Go On with humorous tracks Delilah and I'm Going Slightly Mad and the band's signature pop fare I Can't Live With You and Don't Try So Hard.

    Innuendo

    Half-Speed Mastered

Limited 180 gram heavyweight vinyl LP repressing of this album from the British rock quartet. Innuendo is the fourteenth studio album by Queen. Released in February 1991, it was the final studio album to be released in Freddie Mercury's lifetime and is the last to be composed entirely of new material. The album was recorded between March 1989 and November 1990.

Stylistically, Innuendo is in some sense a return to Queen's roots, with it's harder rock sound, complex musical composition (title track), psychedelic effects (I'm Going Slightly Mad), and strong vocals from Mercury ranging over four octaves. Queen formed in 1970 and consisted of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals).

Queen's earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock, into their music. They eventually became one of the most famous rock bands in the world and still command much respect long after Mercury's 1991 death.

Queen's 1977 release News Of The World solidified the band's position as '70s rock royalty while expanding upon their artistic vision with an eclectic collection of songs. Although the album is famous for its anthemic We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions opening medley, it also features the Roger Taylor-sung Sheer Heart Attack which is as close as Queen ever came to punk as well as the provocatively sensual Get Down, Make Love.

Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde (Pre-Order)

Critically acclaimed as an absolute classic of the alternative Hip-Hop genre, it's been name-checked by Kanye West
as his favorite album of all time and aptly described by NME as ... a cartoon-strip of blunt-smoking antics, sexual
innuendo and unashamed political incorrectness, crammed with infectious funky beats." A true West Coast original
that sprang up amidst the early 1990s gangster rap landscape like LA's answer to De La Soul's D.A.I.S.Y.-Age
    mentality in its freeform creativity.

Ranked 310/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

For their fifth full-length release and first for Warner Bros, the Red Hot Chili Peppers enlisted the talents of producer extraordinaire Rick Rubin. It resulted in the band's breakthrough record as well as their high water mark, a sprawling 17-song punk/funk/hip-hop hybrid awash in sexual innuendo and references to drugs and death. Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991) produced no less than five hit singles including Under The Bridge, Give It Away, Breaking The Girl, Suck My Kiss and If You Have To Ask, selling over 15 million copies in the process.

    15 albums. 18 discs? What's the story?

Queen always had a special fondness for vinyl, the medium in which they first began to create, around 1970. As a matter of principle, every Queen studio album was offered at the time of original release on vinyl, even well into the era when CD's had taken over as the medium of choice for most of the public. However, the final two albums, 'Innuendo' and 'Made In Heaven' were actually formatted primarily with the CD in mind, with a longer running time, so the contents had to be edited down to fit them on to the two sides of a vinyl album. Now, specially for this edition, for the first time, these two albums have been cut at full length as double vinyl LP's - four sides each - making up a vinyl set that is complete in every way.

The box-set offers many other special features. Most noticeable is the coloured vinyl: designed for collectors, each album has been given a different colour, in keeping with its original artwork, giving a unique record-deck experience. The colour discs have been custom-produced especially for this set, using new material technology which ensures the sound quality is uncompromised.

There are more surprises in the box set; 'Queen II' originally never had a designated 'A side' or 'B side' - but 'Side White' and 'Side Black'. For this new edition, the album has been cut on two separate discs, black and white, each with a custom etching on the reverse side, a nice bonus for collectors.

The collection has been five years in the making. Throughout this time Queen's production team has worked extensively on all stages of this painstaking mastering process. The first step was the tape research; locating and confirming the correct versions and best sources for all tracks. Most notably, Under Pressure, plus five tracks on the 'Innuendo' album, were improved hugely after the discovery of better sources during this period. Particular attention was paid to the original releases to ensure that nothing was lost or changed for the worse by reverting to earlier sources.

    Californication

Ranked 399/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Californication is the seventh studio album by great American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers.

It was released on June 8, 1999, on Warner Bros. Records and was produced by the much admired Rick Rubin.

Californication marked the return of John Frusciante, who had previously appeared on Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik; to replace Dave Navarro as the band's guitarist. Frusciante's return was credited with changing the band's sound altogether, producing a notable shift in style from the music recorded with Navarro.

The album's subject material incorporated various sexual innuendos commonly associated with the band, but also contained more varied themes than previous albums, including lust, death, contemplations of suicide, California, drugs, globalization, and travel.

Californication is the Chili Peppers' most commercially successful studio release, with over 16 million copies sold worldwide, and more than 5 million in the United States alone. As of 2002, the album had sold over 4 million copies in Europe.

The record produced several hits for the band, including Otherside, Californication and the Grammy Award-winning Scar Tissue. Californication peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200. The record marked a significant change in style for the band, displaying a decidedly more spiritual rock n roll side.

Serge Gainsbourg (1928-1991): the original bad boy of French pop, the man all women wanted and all men wanted to be. He updated the French chanson and made it hip again, infusing it with the youth culture of the late 50s and 60s: one that was ruled by jazz, drugs and free love. The music of Gainsbourg heralded in this new era and his earliest songs became the soundtrack for a generation of Parisian youths. Side A features songs that originally appeared in 1959 on his second album (here in stereo), No. 2. Here Gainsbourg fronts the Alain Goraguer et Son Orchestre on songs like Le Claqueur de Doigts, a song about seducing chicks at a jukebox....a standard operating tactic for Gainsbourg! While side B features material from his 1958 debut, Du Chant a la Lune!, which featured early hits like Le Poinconneur Des Lilas the morbid tale of a Paris Metro ticket man who contemplates suicide to free him from the monotony of his life. Tracks 1-3 on side B were recorded live at the Theatre des 3 Baudets in November, 1958, while tracks 8-10 are taken from Gainsbourg's score for Jacques Doniol-Valcroze's 1960 film L'Eau a la Bouche (A Game for Six Lovers). While it has always been somewhat difficult for English audiences to appreciate Gainsbourg, due to the language barrier that keeps us from fulling appreciating the sharp wit and raunchy innuendos that permeate his brilliant lyrical style, I find that if I allow the music to carry me to the world of 1960s Parisian vice, my imagination can fill in the rest!

Queen are proud to announce the re-release of their entire studio album catalog on remastered long playing heavyweight vinyl. The album packaging will include every detail of the original releases in their original 12 format. Bonus posters, extra pictures and all the unique content of the original albums will be faithfully reproduced. Flash Gordon is the motion picture soundtrack for the 1980 Dino DeLaurentis film, released just a few months after one of Queen's most commercially successful albums, The Game. The synthesizer-heavy release is comprised mostly of short instrumentals with dialogue from the movie inserted throughout. Flash Gordon contains plenty of first-rate compositions including the soundtrack's anthemic opener Flash's Theme and the underrated rocker The Hero, which closes out the album.

Queen's eponymous 1973 debut features all of the band's signature elements from Freddy Mercury's operatic harmonies to Brian May's orchestral guitar work to their theatric and grandiose hard rock. The album and its sound was as unique as it was promising and it provides a rough blue print to what would coalesce into greatness on their subsequent releases.

New album. New sound. On Acrobats London's Peggy Sue has put down the acoustic guitars, this time opting instead for buzzing guitars and crackling amps. Recorded with producer of the moment John Parish --known for his extensive work with PJ Harvey, Sparklehorse and EELS -- Acrobats keeps the propulsive energy of their former work, but this time the sonics back up the mood. Songwriters Rosa and Katy, and drummer Olly called upon early influences like Sonic Youth and The Breeders when conceiving Acrobats which, coupled with recently acquired electric guitars and a new practice space, released the ferocity that had always been swimming just beneath the surface of the band's music. Parish successfully harnesses this newly minted electricity, resulting in the fulfillment of several albums and EP's worth of musical innuendo. Acrobats is certainly still Peggy Sue, but this time we see that behind the wry smile lies a mouthful of sharp, dirty teeth.

    I Care Because You Do

Aphex Twin's third studio album, originally released in 1995, is regarded as Richard D. James' greatest work under his Aphex Twin guise; whereas 'Selected Ambient Works Vol. II' consummated Aphex Twin's analogue era, '...I Care Because You Do' was the beginning of more intricate, lengthy, abstract digital compositions. Quite different to the previous, familiar sound of ambient music and techno.

Anagrams for tracks titles ('The Waxen Pith', 'Wet Tip Hen Ax', 'Next Heap With' etc.); in-jokes and innuendos; samples of dialogue from pornographic films and other eccentric production nuances fold into distorted hip-hop style beats and tangled drum loops. '.... I Care Because You Do' captures a new era of bracing sonic experimentation (a self portrait on the cover appears to endorse this change), yet maintaining levels of familiar melancholy and aggression in an equal measure.

    I Care Because You Do

Reissue Of Third Album, Originally Released In 1995

The Crowning Achievement In The Aphex Twin Canon

    First-Ever Domestic Vinyl Edition

...I Care Because You Do is the third studio album Richard D. James recorded under the Aphex Twin moniker and marks the end of his initial analog era. It's also the crowning achievement in the Aphex Twin canon. Veering from his previous acid house, ambient and general techno undertakings, James builds compositions out of lengthy and intricate drum machine loops, elaborately layered analog synths and intermittent string pieces. The final product comes off like a Replicant dance-party. Never one to take his art too seriously, James infuses ...I Care Because You Do with in-jokes and innuendos. "Ventolin," named after an asthma medicine, is one of the harshest tracks on the album and features a high-pitch frequency that mimics symptoms of tinnitus; "Alberto Balsalm" is named for a British line of hair care products; "Come On You Slags" samples dialog from a pornographic film. Additionally, several of the song titles are anagrams: Aphex Twin is reworked as "Wax the Nip", The Aphex Twin morphs into "The Waxen Pith," "Wet Tip Hen Ax," and "Next Heap With," and Richard David James becomes "Acrid Avid Jam Shred." ...I Care Because You Do's equal infatuation with hip-hop rhythms and melodic counterpoint provides an effective bridge between his pioneering early releases and the cunning explorations of his later work. As much as the front cover self-portrait captures a snapshot of the artist's own image, the music inside provides a glimpse of an artist on the cusp of an invigorating new period of sound experimentation, but still producing his unique blend of melancholy and aggression at an elite level. Generally seen as one of the quintessential IDM releases of all time (and once named by Q Magazine as one of the top 20 loudest albums of all time), the album finds a middle ground between Phillip Glass and the Wu-Tang Clan. Fans of either will not be disappointed.
