Recorded At Mantra Studios In Chicago - March 28th, 1977

This release, taken from a live radio broadcast of an in-house set recorded at Mantra Studios in Chicago, captures Iggy and Bowie alongside their touring band; during what was essentially a radio session, but one which captures superbly the essence of the tour they were undertaking at the time. Recorded just 10 days after the release of The Idiot on 28th March 1977, this recording reveals a truly legendary occasion for fans, unlikely as they are to have previously heard this rare set.

Sadistic Summer is a warts-and-all document of Iggy & the Stooges on-stage at the Isle of Wight Festival on June 11, 2011, and while the reunited edition of the band previously played the venerable U.K. festival with the late Ron Asheton on guitar; with Williamson on board this time, they played a set dominated by material from Raw Power, the Stooges' album that has always held the most fascination for British fans.

    Live In San Francisco 1971

Located 40-odd miles west of Detroit, Ann Arbor was a cauldron of social change in the '60s. Radical politics, courtesy of Students for a Democratic Society and John Sinclair's White Panther Party, mixed with a vibrant music scene which featured adventurous acts like Iggy Pop and the Psychedelic Stooges. In the midst of this fervor, local musician George Frayne IV felt the urge to form a country swing/boogie band, of all things. Cobbling together the name Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen from two old sci-fi film serials, Frayne and his compatriots began playing at The Canterbury House and other clubs around town beginning in 1967. After a few years, the band felt the need for a bigger platform prompting a move to San Francisco where they found kindred spirits and many opportunities for live work.

High profile opening gigs and a glowing piece in Rolling Stone led to an opportunity to perform live on KSAN, a pioneer of "Underground FM" radio. Reflecting on the evening, the Commander said, "We had a great time, and anyone could see there was something really going on here-and that was probably why that was the most honest of all our recordings." Recorded in one of KSAN's offices direct to quarter inch tape, it captures a brilliant performance from the band despite the Bayside bacchanal that was happening around them. And what a band! The Commander's pumping piano racing alongside Bill Kirchen's Joe-Maphis-on-steroids guitar led the rest of the band through a set of originals mixed with classic songs from their club days. Working from the original analog tapes, Sundazed has painstakingly mastered this historic performance.

    TV Eye: 1977 (Live)

TV Eye Live 1977 (or TV Eye) is a live album by Iggy Pop originally released in 1978. Iggy took a $90,000 advance from RCA Records to finish his contract with a live album. According to allmusic.com, the album was assembled from soundboard tapes. Iggy Pop doctored them in a German studio, quickly and cheaply for around $5,000. The album features recordings from concerts at The Agora in Cleveland, Ohio on March 21 & 22, 1977; The Aragon in Chicago, Illinois on March 28, 1977, and The Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Missouri on October 26, 1977.

The album is notable for the presence of David Bowie on keyboards and background vocals for selected tracks and the rather crushing bass and drum sound; also, with the Sales brothers, the lineup prefigures in part Bowie's Tin Machine lineup.

    Rock Action

Iggy Pop's various musical style changes throughout his career are detailed in this collection of rare and unreleased tracks. The awesome power of the Stooges is on display as well as Iggy Pop's now dated experiments in new wave. Riddled with cover tunes, the album does not betray Iggy Pop's roots in garage rock. Pulled from live dates throughout the '80s the cover tunes range from Family Affair by Sly and the Family Stone to the Batman Theme. These cover tunes are simply points of interest rather than the powerful rock & roll that Iggy Pop shows himself to be capable of. Louie Louie slurs into Hang on Sloopy. No Fun gives the nod to Lou Reed and becomes Waiting for the Man, but the strongest points of the album are the ad-libbed tracks. Rock Action and Modern Guy display Iggy Pop's ability to make up lyrics off the top of his head. They appear to be just studio jams that have been brought to the stage with powerful results. In Rock Action, it sounds as though Iggy Pop was just musing on his former bandmate's self-proclaimed title, creating a song that puts a voice to his demand for action. Only two other tracks on the collection reach the same level as the jam tracks. I Got a Right and Gimme Some Skin are two of the Stooges' greatest songs that never made it onto their studio albums. The heavy rhythms of Gimme Some Skin are the Stooges at their best with Iggy Pop again putting voice to his need for action. --Matt Whalley

If theres ever been an album that lives up to its title, this is it, Iggy and the Stooges apocalyptic, high-octane 1973 release, Raw Power with its unforgettable Mick Rock photography on the front and back! The Iggy Pop produced/David Bowie mixed album literally provided the blueprint for the mid-'70s punk-rock explosion with such proto-punk frontal assaults as Search and Destroy, Shake Appeal, Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell and the title track.

Although this incarnation of the Stooges (James Williamson/guitar, Ron Asheton/bass, Scott Asheton/drums) imploded not long after its release, Raw Power became the album that launched a million punk rock bands all around the world, leaving its mark on scenes from London to L.A. to Sydney. As iconic and influential a record as they come, this is primal rock n roll at its absolute best!

Raw Power was the confluence of the Stooges' ages, hormones, creativity, ability, experience, tastes, lack of supervision, contempt for authority and ambition to achieve our rock dreams however unrealistic they might be. The songs from Raw Power were written from deep within our souls and were played with a meaningfulness and authenticity which is rarely captured on record. - James Williamson

Live At River Plate Stadium - Buenos Aires, Brazil - March 16th, 1996

On 16th March 1996, the Ramones played a farewell concert to 45,000 fans in Buenos Aires in what had been initially planned as the final show of their storied 20-year career. The River Plate Stadium, home to one of South America's most famous football clubs, had filled to the brim, while none other than Iggy Pop played as the opening act before the Ramones took to the stage. The band returned to the States on the Lollapolooza bill, playing their last show in Los Angeles on 6th August 1996. Nonetheless, they had built such a fiercely dedicated fan base down south that they had become, as branded by a major Buenos Aires daily paper, The Argentine Punk Band, "La Banda Punk Argentina."

    Terms Of My Surrender

John Hiatt adds another chapter to his storied career with the release of Terms Of My Surrender. Produced by longtime collaborator and Combo member, Doug Lancio, Terms of My Surrender is rooted in the blues. It adds an exciting dynamic to one of America's finest singer-songwriters.

Hiatt and his band, The Combo, have gained a reputation for captivating crowds at their live shows as The Tennessean depicts: He prowls the stage, delivering the bluesy stuff in a whiskey-burn howl, shouting the rock stuff and fronting a formidable band that can turn on a dime, from ballads to bombast. John Hiatt's career as a performer and songwriter has spanned more than 30 years and everyone from Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, BB King, Bonnie Raitt and Iggy Pop has covered his work.

This album, produced by Christoffer Berg (The Knife / Fever Ray / Little Dragon, Depeche Mode) is the result of the manifestation of the world Heidi immersed herself in during the making, and the journey that ensued. L.A. Confidential

    Limited Edition Red Colored Vinyl

L.A. Confidential contains a treasure trove of unreleased outtakes from the sessions that were initially recorded in 1979 and 1980 by Bomp mastermind Greg Shaw. After the initial break up of the Dead Boys, nihilistic front man extraordinaire Stiv Bators recorded material for Disconnected and several singles for Bomp. The music took a decidedly different approach, bypassing punk chutzpuh like Caught With the Meat in Your Mouth for '60s-derived garage pop abandon. Upon release, Dead Boys fans were less than enthused. Even so, this material stands on its own and continues to be rediscovered by a new audience much like Iggy's post-Stooges discs The Idiot and Lust for Life. The 18 tracks are all remastered from the original tapes, including alternate mixes of The Last Year, It's Cold Outside, Not That Way Anymore, Circumstantial Evidence, I'll Be Alright, a demo version of I'll Stand Accused, a rehearsal of the Damned's Neat, Neat, Neat, and Morrison Rant (recorded live at the Ritz in 1980), which is pure throwaway fun.

    Strange Weather, Isn't It?

Everyones got a Berlin record in them and I guess we just wanted to see what
ours would sound like, !!!s lead singer Nic Offer says, with tongue partially in
cheek, of the groups fourth album, Strange Weather, Isnt It? Following in the
footsteps of artists like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Depeche Mode, who have
flocked to Berlin in order to mainline the citys legendary dark energy, !!! traveled
to the German capital to produce a record that is simultaneously brooding and
somehow their poppiest, most immediate record yet. !!! has also managed to
create the best distillation of the chaos, fun and intensity of !!!'s live show yet.
Strange Weather, Isnt It? was co-produced by the band with Eric Broucek,
who used to be the house engineer for DFA Records. We used everything we
could MacGyvered it together with a popsicle stick and a rubber band to make
it work and Eric was definitely instrumental in making that happen, says Offer.
The result is an album that is leaner and more detailed than any of !!!s previous
albums. In the early days wed put something deep in the mix, so that kids on
acid could hear it the 20th time they listened to it, says Offer. Now weve
    learned how to make records better. Its like the deep techno you hear in Berlin;
its molded down to its most basic essence, almost like a sculpture that you keep
working on to make it both denser and clearer at the same time. Offer pauses
for a moment to consider what hes saying. Dont get me wrong, though, you
should still check the record out on acid. Trust me.

    Between The Ditches

Roaring out of the southern Indiana foothills comes Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band playing a brand of Americana and Blues that stands alone. Delta blues and hillbilly fervor combine with musical acuity sharp as razor wire, this trio is a force to be reckoned with. Their new album Between The Ditches is a chronicle of this lifestyle. Their fifth album celebrates the growl of a good truck engine, the fiercest passion for their country home and the importance of family.

The uncanny ability to breathe new life into old forms of music gives the Big Damn Band a pedigree many Americana acts would kill for and an ironclad work ethic keeps them on the road playing for the people with hurricane force. Locked in with an audience, the band create their own community and welcome the crowd into it, transporting them away from their troubles to joyous release, the way great musicians have done for centuries. The Rev. J. Peyton, his wife Breezy and distant cousin Aaron "Cuz" Persinger are a living breathing embodiment of the traditions and hard work ethic native to their Brown County, Indiana home.

With a reputation for their incendiary live shows well established, The Big Damn Band set out to make the album that would finally capture the same heat. Recorded at White Arc Studio in Bloomington, Indiana, the album was produced by The Rev. Peyton and Paul Mahern (John Mellencamp, Iggy Pop) and mastered by Brian Lucey (Black Keys, Dr. John, Shins). For previous albums, the band had recorded live, straight through in the same mode as a live show. Between The Ditches came together more slowly, with care. "We approached it saying we were going to make a record this time, not just a recording," explained the Rev. He used a different guitar set up on almost every track, employing two '30s National guitars, a cigar box guitar, a custom shop Gibson flattop 1929 L2 and an Airline map electric guitar. The primary amps are custom Weber amps made by Weber speakers, both are one of a kind.

Between The Ditches features a new level of craftsmanship in both recording technique and songwriting. The guitar playing alone should put the Rev. in the same class with his much revered idols. The songwriting boasts an added maturity and runs the gamut in subject matter from the barn burning, tongue in cheek, "Shut the Screen," (where "It's too dang hot and the bugs are too dang mean") to the evils of strip mining, an issue close to the hearts of this Indiana band in, "Don't Grind It Down." There seems to be a theme expressed throughout the album and stated clearly in their first single "Devils Look Like Angels": "Devil don't live down in hell, the devil's right here doing very well."

    Band Of Outsiders

Limited Edition Black And Red Splattered Vinyl

When jazz hits you in the face with a stack of bricks, Mike Dillon is there...twisting chaos into order before turning it back on itself again. -Splinters & Candy

The Mike Dillon Band is a predictably gruesome and sublime elixir of stealthy jazz vibes, street poetry raps and post-punk sonic carnage. -Boulder Weekly

A body in motion tends to stay in motion, at least when The Mike Dillon Band is supplying the dance music. The psychedelic rock group shakes and gyrates with heavy, vibraphone driven grooves, delivering a steady stream of infectious rhythms and hypnotic percussion. -Pittsburgh City Paper

How many artists can claim being praised a punk rock provocateur, jazz vibraphone visionary and percussion virtuoso in the same sentence? There's only one: Mike Dillon. Whether through his affiliation with artists like Les Claypool, Brave Combo and Ani DiFranco, collaborations such as Garage A Trois, The Dead Kenny Gs and Critters Buggin or bands he's fronted, including Billy Goat and Hairy Apes BMX, the Texas-native has set his own standard for 25 years now.

With his latest effort, Band of Outsiders-released via Brooklyn label The Royal Potato Family-Mike Dillon has conjured the perfect storm of all these past endeavors. His manic creative vision found its match in three young musicians he met in New Orleans. Carly Meyers-whom Dillon describes as "a High Priestess of Trombone who channels the energy of Iggy Pop through the chops of JJ Johnson in second-line parade"-provides harmonic counterpoint to his vibes and percussion ("All Walks of Life") as she simultaneously ups the band's art-rock ante ("Carly Hates The Dubstep"). The rhythm section of bassist Patrick McDevitt and drummer Adam Gertner turns on a dime between snarling punk rock assaults ("Homeland Insecurity"), deep funky go-go ("Head"), ska grooves ("Here The Burro") and experimental hip-hop beats ("7AM At The Jazzfest") with all points covered in between.

Dillon recorded Band of Outsiders at Studio Center in Miami with the help of co-producers Gary Vandy and Richard Maloney Jr. Vandy is an old school engineer whose work includes over 200 platinum records predominantly in the disco and dance genres. His love of Zappa is what attracted him to Dillon's work. In the age of pro-tools chicanery, the production is straightforward, capturing Dillon and his band playing live in a room.

"Two tours of Mexico and a steady dose of Brazilian music was the jumping off point for these new songs," explains Dillon. "Add our love for The Melvins, Deerhoof, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, Trouble Funk and all things New Orleans and this album surpasses our intention to make the freakiest, most vibrant dance music on the planet."

Lyrically speaking, Mike Dillon draws from his love of Miguel de Cervantes, William Burroughs, Kurt Vonnegut and Robert Anton Wilson to tell stories of New Orleans debauchery mixed with age-old themes of travel, love, self-destruction and greed. Delivered with Dillon's trademark vocal rasp, the record has the intensity of a Tom Waits-meets-Frank Zappa black comedy. Rumor has it that Dillon lived for the past seven years in the same apartment that Waits shared with Rickie Lee Jones. Dillon discounts those rumors: This apartment has housed dudes from Morning 40 Federation, Ani DiFranco, an old Conga player and a bunch of heroin addicts."

Taken in its entirety, Mike Dillon's Band of Outsiders is a snapshot of four musicians hitting full stride. Having relentlessly toured the country in 2013-both headlining and opening for artists like Fishbone, Clutch, Primus and Galactic-its 13 songs bristle with a group mind, spill over the sides with the visions invoked during countless dead-of-night drives crisscrossing the country in a van and hit their target with a sonic assault only possible from a band that's played 400-plus shows over the last two years.

"People are always trying to figure out how to describe our music. Maybe we should call it New Orleans punk jazz Brazilian math rock? It's a gumbo of tribal percussion, The Meters, old school hardcore, Brazil, hard bop and anything else that might move us," concludes Dillon. "But you know, I really don't care what you call it. We kick out the jams harder than anyone, and we also know when to heed the lessons of The Minutemen's Double Nickels On The Dime and keep things straight to the point. There's a reason we called the record what we did. We're the living, breathing definition of a band of outsiders, but together we deliver simple majestic beauty, let's leave it at that."

One of the leading bands of the 70's LA punk scene, The Germs only released one studio album before the untimely death of lead singer Darby Crash at the age of 22. Equal parts Sex Pistols and Iggy pop, the band's legendary live shows bordered on chaos. GI was produced by Joan Jett and features sixteen tracks of unbridled garage-punk bliss.
