Jealous AgainWhen the four-song vinyl EP Jealous Again came out in 1980, Black Flag had yet to provide a full-length LP or hire Henry Rollins as its vocalist. But even in those pre-Rollins days, Black Flag was regarded as one of the most important bands on the Los Angeles punk scene - and rightly so. In fact, it's safe to say that no 1980 release captures the raw, explosive anger of L.A. punk better than Jealous Again. Black Flag's second vocalist, Chavo Pederast (the one who came after Keith Morris and before Rollins), has no problem expressing his rage on such in-your-face classics as 'No Values,' 'White Minority,' 'Revenge,' and 'You Bet We've Got Something Against You!.' In 1980, some fans of corporate rock couldn't begin to understand the appeal of a punk band like Black Flag and dismissed this EP as unmusical. But to criticize Jealous Again (whose contents would, in the 1990s, be placed on SST's CD reissue of Damaged) for its lack of chops or technique completely misses the point: punk wasn't about technique, it was about feeling. Punk was rock and roll stripped down to its rawest, most naked, gut-level emotions. And on this EP, those emotions make for some compelling moments. - All Music Guide1. Jealous Again

Passion For Vinyl (Book) (2nd Pressing)240-Page Book With 7 Vinyl Single
7 Vinyl Single: Rinus'Garage Feat. Triggerfinger - The Wall Of Dolls / Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell - Electric Fogg
This book is a tribute to vinyl, a format that is making a spectacular comeback recently, although for many music lovers it never really disappeared.
Brazilian superstar Ed Motta came to Holland to buy an apartment, but spent all his money on vinyl instead. When a young Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth discovered a scratch on his recently bought Bathory LP he demolished his bedroom. It's Atlantic's CEO Craig Kallman mission to own all relevant albums on vinyl. He has 750.000 already. That's what vinyl does with music lovers.
In Passion For Vinyl a wide selection of DJ's, musicians, label owners, designers, record dealers, collectors and engineers like Henry Rollins, Bernie Grundman, Hans Pokora, Chris Ellis, Steffi, Mala, Vaughan Oliver, Lee Dorrian, Jacco Gardner, John Dyer Baizley and many others share their unconditional love for vinyl. They muse about the first record that changed their lives, talk about their prized collectibles and explain why they were determined to keep vinyl alive. Passion for Vinyl also tells the history of Record Industry, the Dutch factory that has been pressing vinyl since the 1950's.
Passion For Vinyl is written by Dutch author, music journalist and incurable vinyl fanatic Robert
Haagsma. With an introduction by American vinyl guru Michael Fremer.

I Am a Problem: Mind in PiecesHaving eschewed the "noise" moniker to describe their sound in favor of the self-proclaimed "Trip Metal", Wolf Eyes are at the forefront of a wide-ranging, experimental, impossible-to-categorize world. With over 500 releases since their inception in 1997, the group has been lauded by Thurston Moore, Henry Rollins and countless other stoned basement malcontents.
With previous full-lengths on labels like Sub Pop and Troubleman, I Am a Problem: Mind in Pieces is their debut release for Third Man Records and signals an ever-so-slight shift with the appearance of guitar and even drums. I Am a Problem is as much a classic Wolf Eyes record as no one would've ever predicted such a pulverizing left-turn at this juncture of their career. This is social audio dissent.1. The Church Within
Features Two Bonus Tracks
Includes Added Photos and Original Album Art With Lyrics
Includes a New Note From Wino Himself
Biker metal, doom metal, stoner metal whatever metal subgenre you
want to fit him into, Scott "Wino" Weinrich has been at the forefront of it
for over thirty years. The unmistakable rasp of his lead vocals and thick, fuzzy Gibson
guitar tone have spearheaded bands ranging from Saint Vitus to Spirit Caravan to Probot,
but for many his crowning achievement (and most accessible one) was The Church
Within, the last album he made with his first band, The Obsessed, for Columbia in 1994.
His lone major label release, The Church Within features the dark vision and crushing,
slow-motion riffs beloved by fans of Black Sabbath, but the driving intensity and atonal guitar solos recall
Motörhead and Black Flag, respectively; in short, this album transcends genre classifications even as it defines
them. Now, for the first time, this lost classic of '90s metal is being reissued by Real Gone Music on double
180-gram gatefold vinyl with two bonus tracks (the single "Mental Kingdom" and the unreleased track "Melancholy
Grey"), added photos, the original album art with lyrics and a new note from Wino himself. Everyone from Henry
Rollins to Dave Grohl to Ian MacKaye has sung Wino's praises time to join the chorus.LP 1

Brilliant CornersFew composers or improvisers can match the originality of pianist Thelonious Monk. Quirky yet rigorously logical, Monk's playful but always purposeful choice of skewed melodies and interrupted rhythm patterns gave the bebop movement, and jazz in total, a new sound that was totally modern. Although he created a surprisingly limited body of compositions, his impact on the vocabulary and canon of jazz is second to none, including such prolific giants as Duke Ellington. Brilliant Corners is a triumph of both performance and conception: the two small-group sessions, anchored by Monk, drummer Max Roach, and the bass work of either Oscar Pettiford or Paul Chambers, feature superb front-line performances by saxophonists Sonny Rollins and the tragically under-recorded Ernie Henry, as well as trumpeter Clark Terry. The title track, which centers the collection, is one of Monk's most unconventional pieces, skirting whole-tone, chromatic and Lydian scales; a version of Pannonica finds Monk doubling on celeste, while the band stretches out on Bemsha Swing and the blues Ba-lue Bolivar Ba-lues-are. - Fred Goodman1. Sonny Meets Hawk! (Pure Pleasure)This is a memorable meeting of a pair of genial giants - Sonny Rollins, who has been called again and again the boss of the modern tenor sax, and Coleman Hawkins, who is the father of jazz saxophone playing.
Each has made enormous contributions to jazz improvisation, beyond the limits of his instrument. The sum total of their work forms the impressive foundation for this once-in-a-lifetime album.
This recording is extraordinary in every sense, and not merely in that it marks the first time (except for a brief on-stage appearance at the 1963 Newport Jazz Festival, which inspired this studio recording) that these great musicians have played together. Each has blended his own strong personality with the other's, yet neither has lost his individuality. Where one reaches into the other's 'bag', it is done with musical logic and respect; always, the goal of a cohesive duet relationship is uppermost in each of their minds. And perhaps the most extraordinary aspect of this album is that neither musician plays safe; each exercises his powerful imagination throughout, running all the risks entailed in daring improvisation - but gaining also the satisfactions inherent in such an approach.

- Coleman Hawkins (tenor saxophone)

- Henry Grimes (bass)

About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.1. Yesterdays

Brilliant CornersTwo superb piano trio albums of covers had set the stage for Monk the composer to re-emerge with horns, and the pianist responded with BRILLIANT CORNERS, one of his greatest recordings, featuring three classic new tunes and two formidable studio bands. The Sonny Rollins featured on BRILLIANT CORNERS is a far more imposing presence than the young acolyte of previous Monk sessions--just witness the title tune. With its multiple themes, quirky intervallic leaps, idiomatic rhythmic changes and tricky transitions in tempo, it is one of Monk's masterpieces--a miniature symphony. So daunting were its technical challenges, that the final ending was edited on from another take. Rollins begins his solo with swaggering composure, boldly paraphrasing Monk's vinegary intervals and trademark trills, before navigating the swift rapids of the double-time chorus with deft syncopations. Monk plies dissonance upon dissonance in his first chorus, playing rhythmic tag with Max Roach on the out chorus. Ernie Henry's slip-sliding bluesiness is followed by a brilliant rhythmic edifice from Roach, who maintains melodic coherence at a drowsy tempo, then explodes into the final chorus.Elsewhere, Ba-Lue Bolivar Ba-Lues-Are is a soulful, easygoing blues, and Monk's solo is a compendium of pithy rhythmic devices, bent notes and calculated melodic abstractions, played with enormous relaxation and swing. He concludes with heckling big-band figures that form the basis for Rollins' expressive rhythmic testimonies. Monk employs the bell-like timbre of a celeste to stunning effect on Pannonica, one of his loveliest melodies and improvisations. And in closing, Bemsha Swing is a hard-swinging, conversational performance, with fine contributions from trumpeter Clark Terry, bassist Paul Chambers and Roach on drums and timpani.1.
