    180 Gram Double Vinyl

Re-mastered from the original master tapes, Elvis Costello's soulful album Get Happy!! is now presented as a 2LP set (original was 1LP) on 180 gram vinyl. This soul -influenced LP shows how prolific and brilliant Costello is. Get Happy!! hit #11 on the Billboard 200.

Elvis Costello and the Attractions masterful Get Happy!! is largely believed born of national scandal. While in a Holiday Inn bar, the English singer attempted to end an annoying conversation by baiting Stephen Stills with outrageous, offensive racial remarks about Ray Charles and James Brown. With everyone involved inebriated, the details are unclear, but the falloutdeath threats, radio embargos, protestsis infamous. The upshot? Costello and company retreated, scrapped a planned record, and created the soulful genius that is Get Happy!!, the bands fourth consecutive five-star effort.

The upshot? Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, and pressed on two 45RPM LPs to replicate the very first promotional pressing in the UK, the 1980 LP has never sounded better on any format. Rather than cram nearly 50 minutes of music and 20 songs onto a single record, Mobile Fidelity has gone the extra mile and back to the album's UK roots with two 45RPM discs. For the first time, listeners can home in on the records signature sound that relates to the decision to record the vocals in a studios glass strings room. In addition, the dimensions and images associated with Steve Nieves penetrating organ, Pete Thomas punchy drumming, and Costellos bounding vocals know no limits. The music simply leaps off the proverbial page, the uptempo rhythms jumping and nimble bass lines kicking.

Clearly, the group is motivated, and the leader brings some of his very finest songs to the table, including High Fidelity, Riot Act, Motel Matches, and The Imposter. While some believe the drunken incident caused Costello to shelve a planned new-wave-leaning effort for the soul-stoked Get Happy!!, the vocalist claims that his ability to find so many great soul records in America from 1977 through 1979 inspired the group to change course. Whatever the cause, Get Happy!! is a start-to-finish wonder.

Paying homage to Northern soul, Motown, Stax, and Southern soul strains, and infused with smooth and gritty arrangements, Get Happy!! runs on an efficient R&B motor. Subtle tributes abound. High Fidelity quotes a Supremes song; Love for Tender borrows a Supremes riff; Opportunity tips its hat to Al Green; Clowntime Is Over bows to Curtis Mayfield. And two covers, of Sam & Daves I Cant Stand Up for Falling Down and the Merseybeats I Stand Accused, are recast as quick, R&B rave-ups. Theres not a misplaced note or bad step on this record. And for history buffs, the closing, searing ballad Riot Act is Costellos response to his hypocritical critics and finger-pointers.

As essential as anything in Costellos catalog, and one of the truly great records of the 1980s, you owe it to yourself to experience Get Happy!! in the supreme sonic fidelity that this numbered limited edition Mobile Fidelity double-LP pressing affords. For those intimately familiar with its contents, listening will be a revelation. And for fans that have never heard the record, prepare to be wowed.

Part of Mobile Fidelitys Costello catalog restoration series, Get Happy!! will make you positively ecstatic.

    I Wanna Get Better

The band fun. conquered the charts in 2012 and 2013 with Some Nights, an energetic blast of a pop-rock record that featured hugely successful singles like the title track and the ubiquitous "We Are Young." At their best, the band incites a sugar-rush spark in the listener: they can make you feel insanely happy just to be alive. Lead guitarist Jack Antonoff inspired some of the record's best such moments with joyous, skidding guitar solos, and he's now striking out on his own with a new project, Bleachers; their first single is "I Wanna Get Better."

The song contains some of the same magic that's led fun. to success - a giddiness that's an inch or two away from the edge of control, an open-armed embrace of huge pop hooks - with a new voice at the helm, Antonoff's deeper, dry vocals having replaced Nate Ruess' soaring takes. "I Wanna Get Better" is a great first effort; it's exciting to imagine what else Antonoff has up his sleeve.

Get Rhythm / I Walk The Line

Released in 1956, Get Rhythm is an upbeat number by Johnny Cash with positive lyrics speaking of a happy shoe-shine boy. While the song is classic, inimitable Cash, it would quickly become overshadowed by its b-side, I Walk the Line. A peculiar song that changes key between each verse and has no chorus, I Walk the Line would become the song Cash is best known for, a tale of pledged fidelity with lyrical undertones implying even deeper meaning. Rolling Stone magazine ranked the song at #30 in their 2004 list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.

How To Get To Heaven From Scotland

Last time we heard from Aidan Moffat (Arab Strap), it was with the wonderful, darkly humorous, spoken word album and book package I Can Hear Your Heart, which received rave reviews upon its February 2008 release. Less than a year later, the 35 year-old Moffat is back in a new guise, as frontman of Aidan Moffat and the Best Ofs.

It's not really a band, says Moffat, So much as an open-door club where anyone with a talent for something I like the sound of is welcome. There's no line-up in any traditional sense and members come and go according to their availability, but for this album, the band includes Stevie Jones (Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan's band) and Alun Woodward (ex-Delgados/Lord Cut-Glass.) How To Get To Heaven From Scotland was recorded simultaneously with I Can Hear Your Heart.

I decided it was time that I attempted to write some positive love songs, which is incredibly difficult to do if you want to avoid cliche and repetition, explains Moffat. You have to try to make them both personal and universal, which also can be quite difficult; you have to try to forget other people are going to hear them while also making sure it will appeal to an audience. There's a lot more sunshine and happy endings on this record, plus a song about my grandfather's non-existent ghost and a lullaby about the terror of impending fatherhood. Hopefully I've managed to keep it at least diverting for the 37 minutes it lasts.

By The Time It Gets Dark (Pure Pleasure)

    Hi Folks,

Hard to believe it's been 30 years since the release of "By The Time It Gets Dark" in 1987. There's been a lot of water under the bridge since then and how time flies when you're busy and having a good time! As it's always been one of my favorite albums I felt that it deserved to be revisited to celebrate its 30th anniversary. With that in mind, we sent the old 24 track tapes to be baked (a process to preserve them) allowing us to do a complete remix and remaster the album. We enlisted the services of my great friend and sound engineer Billy Robinson to do the job and I'm delighted with the outcome - it sounds great, even if I say so myself! We added a few bits where needed and I'm happy to see it being released on vinyl again.

It's been a nice journey revisiting that time and remembering the sights and sounds of life back then.

As we listened closely to some of the tracks, the beautiful voice of Mandy Murphy came through and I felt so sad that she passed away, so young, last year. I wish to dedicate this release to her memory.

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

    Big World

Listening to San Francisco East Bay s Happy Diving it s hard to believe that they ve only been together since 2013. A year ago, friends Matt Berry, Samuelito Cruz, Mikey Rivera, and Matt Yankovitz decided to form a band after previous projects fell apart. Since then they ve released a self-titled EP in late 2013 that fans of Tony Molina, Connecticut s Ovlov and early Weezer can appreciate. Their debut full-length, Big World, out worldwide on October 21, 2014, was recorded over a whirlwind two days at The Atomic Garden in East Palo, CA, with the help of producer Jack Shirley (Deafhaven, Joyce Manor, Whirr). Big World sees the band channeling the energy first displayed on their Self-Titled EP, as well as their deafening and vivacious live shows, into ten concise, sludgy pop songs. We recommend you listen to this album while road tripping across the country, but if you don t have the time to pack up your cares and get away, Big World fits perfectly into a 30 minute lunch break.

    Live At The Jazz Mill

    Pressed On Red Vinyl

Unearthed tape from a jazz icon. Thanks to a 21-year-old with a tape machine, we can all experience the majesty of guitar legend Barney Kessel at his 1954 best!

Even if you don't know Barney Kessel, you know Barney Kessel -- as a first-string member of the group of LA session musicians nicknamed The Wrecking Crew, Kessel's guitar is heard on just about every LA-based hit you'd care to name from the 60s, including songs by the Monkees and The Beach Boys' legendary Smile LP. And that's Kessel's playing on the famous fight music from the Star Trek TV series. He was regarded as the very best of the session guitarists by just about everyone around, and guitarists everywhere site him as an influence.

But before he played rock and roll, Kessel was a jazz pioneer -- as one of the leading lights of the hard-bop movement, his jazz guitar was legendary, and he was ranked the No. 1 guitarist in Down Beat and Playboy for numerous years. He played with Sonny Rollins and Oscar Peterson (and Chico Marx -- yes, that Chico Marx!) as well as leading his own super-tight group. On albums such as The Poll Winners, Kessel defined the bop style with a jazz power trio, creating a body of work that made him a legend.

Live At The Jazz Mill is a unique artifact -- recorded on a tape recorder by young jazz fan Jack Miller, this live recording catches Barney Kessel in the middle of his run at the Jazz Mill with a great four-piece band. The collection, gleaned from a couple of nights' best recordings, features Kessel's spirited take on such Songbook classics as Get Happy and Stardust, not to mention the Gershwin great Embraceable You. It's pressed on red vinyl and wrapped in a sleeve which captures the unique vibe of jazz graphics of the 1950s. Get with Barney Kessel, and get with a true pioneer of the jazz form!

6 Of The Greatest Jazz Legends In Their Prime

180 Gram Audiophile 2LP Vinyl With Gatefold

On a cold November evening in 1980, 3000 jazz fans filled the Salle Wilfrid Pelletier Hall of Place des Arts
in Montreal, Quebec to attend what promised to be, a swinging evening featuring six of the biggest names
in bebop. Billed The Concert of the Century - A Tribute to Charlie Parker, and under the direction of
Dizzy Gillespie - one of the best jazz trumpeters of all time - the event featured legendary performers:
Hank Jones - piano, Ray Brown - bass, Milt Jackson - vibes, Philly Joe Jones - drums and James Moody
on tenor sax and flute. Local club owner Roue Doudou Boicel, who produced the concert, had the foresight
to record the concert in its entirety. A limited quantity bootleg LP of the concert soon appeared and then
disappeared from the marketplace, those tapes lay dormant for over 30 years.

This historic recording opens with rapturous applause that sets the tone with Dizzy's own "Blues 'N' Boogie.
"Also featured are several classic standards - some more well known then others - including "Darben The
Redd Foxx," "Time On My Hands," "Get Happy," "The Shadow Of Your Smile" and "Stardust." All the players are
at the top of their game and having a blast, as evidenced by the banter and repartee between songs.

Concert of the Century, pristinely restored and remastered, features two tracks that weren't on the original
pressing from the early '80s - Ralph Rainger's "If I Should Lose You" and an incredible eight minute bass
    solo by Ray Brown.

    Dream A Little Dream

At the time of Dream a Little Dream's release, the von Trapp family was more newsworthy than it had been in a while: The Sound of Music Live!, a television adaptation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical, was a ratings success when it aired in December 2013. More poignantly, Maria von Trapp, the last surviving member of the original Trapp Family Singers, passed in February 2014 at age 99.

On this collaboration with Pink Martini, Sofie, Melanie, Amanda, and August von Trapp -- the great-grandchildren of the von Trapps immortalized in The Sound of Music -- continue the family tradition with beautifully harmonized versions of songs ranging from Johannes Brahms' In Stiller Nacht to the national anthem of Rwanda, Rwanda Nziza. Working with Pink Martini was an inspired choice, as they almost always bring out the best in their collaborators -- along with the unexpected, like Kuroneko No Tango, a version of the Italian song Black Cat Tango inspired by Japanese singer Osamu Minagawa's 1969 rendition. The group sounds just as natural backing the von Trapps as they do working with their usual vocalists, and Dream a Little Dream bears the same mix of kitsch and sublime beauty as one of Pink Martini's own albums. Die Dorfmusik sounds like it could have strolled in from The Lawrence Welk Show, while the version of ABBA's Fernando sounds like it came from a Swedish Carnaval parade thanks to the involvement of the Lions of Batucada.

The inevitable Sound of Music inclusions are handled in a similarly playful fashion, with Wayne Newton taking the lead on The Lonely Goatherd and Charmian Carr (who portrayed Liesl in the film of the musical) joining the von Trapps for a sweet version of Edelweiss that recalls Pink Martini's work with Phyllis Diller on their previous album, Get Happy. The von Trapps balance Dream a Little Dream's quaint and quirky moments with more contemporary-sounding tracks, three of which were penned by August. Storm and Friend recall '60s folk in their acoustic earnestness, and the Chieftains give the closing track, Thunder, a pretty, if somewhat out of place, Celtic twist. As is often the case with Pink Martini's albums, the most intimate moments here are among the best.

A softer-than-soft rendition of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Hushabye Mountain captures the exquisite poignancy of vintage children's music, while the delicate Le Premier Bonheur du Jour and a starlit version of the album's title track cast a similar spell. Ultimately, Dream a Little Dream is an entertaining blend of both parties' strengths, showcasing Pink Martini's globetrotting pop and introducing the next generation of von Trapp music.

The album cover to Trust speaks volumes: Elvis Costello, bathed in shadows, his eyes nervously peering out from behind his sunglasses, his face conveying a combination of edgy noir purpose and guilt-ridden anxiety. Indeed, the tension-rich songs within largely convey the opposite meanings of the record's title, with the British icon musing on what lies beyond arrogant youth and immediate success with a jaundiced, scarred perspective informed by his country's political climate and his own experiences.

Whether the full, rounded tones of Bruce Thomas' bass or complete extension and decay of Steve Nieve's organ, every instrumental accent is delivered with lifelike detail and superb balance. Melodicas, drums, pianos, and guitars similarly come across faithfully and richly, the blend freed of constricting sonic veils and dynamic compression. Heard anew on this pressing, Trust emerges as one of the most satisfyingly complex and expertly played albums of its era. Costello's singing, too, reveals intricate tonal shadings and implied meanings, with slower tracks such as the hypnotic "Watch Your Step" and Tin Pan Alley-inspired solo tour de force "Shot With His Own Gun" ravishing with enhanced emotional investment.

As is often the case with great (and sophisticated) albums, Trust-which retains a five-star review from the most recent Rolling Stone Album Guide-didn't spawn any Top 40 hits at the time of its release. Yet age has been more than kind to the effort Costello said aimed to cross the rhythms of Get Happy!! with the melodies of Armed Forces, and which more than achieves the exacting goal. Admittedly made in a haze of booze and pills, the 1981 affair plumbs issues of disillusionment, romance, and sin with barbed wit and unvarnished honesty.

Country, soul, pop, rockabilly, two-step, punk-shot-through rock, jazz-Costello and the Attractions explore and master it all on Trust, all the while performing with an unencumbered directness and on-point coherence. No better example of the singer's simultaneous stylistic reach and virtuosity exists. Experience it like never before on this phenomenal-sounding pressing.

    Reflection

Reflection is the latest work in a long series. It started (as far as record releases are concerned) with Discreet Music in 1975 ( - or did it start with the first Fripp and Eno album in 1973? Or did it start with the first original piece of music I ever made, at Ipswich Art School in 1965 - recordings of a metal lampshade slowed down to half and quarter speed, all overlaid?)

Anyway, it's the music that I later called 'Ambient'. I don't think I understand what that term stands for anymore - it seems to have swollen to accommodate some quite unexpected bedfellows - but I still use it to distinguish it from pieces of music that have fixed duration and rhythmically connected, locked together elements.

The pedigree of this piece includes Thursday Afternoon, Neroli (whose subtitle is Thinking Music IV) and LUX. I've made a lot of thinking music, but most of it I've kept for myself. Now I notice that people are using some of those earlier records in the way that I use them - as provocative spaces for thinking - so I feel more inclined to make them public.

Pieces like this have another name: they're GENERATIVE. By that I mean they make themselves. My job as a composer is to set in place a group of sounds and phrases, and then some rules which decide what happens to them. I then set the whole system playing and see what it does, adjusting the sounds and the phrases and the rules until I get something I'm happy with. Because those rules are probabilistic ( - often taking the form 'perform operation x, y percent of the time') the piece unfolds differently every time it is activated. What you have here is a recording of one of those unfoldings.

    Live

The Modern Lovers were an American rock band led by Jonathan Richman in the 70s and 80s. The original band existed from 1970 to 1974 but their recordings were not released until 1976 or later.

Live catches Jonathan Richman at the height of his candy-floss novelty period. The music is warm and mild, almost all of it derived from 50s and early-60s models such as surf idioms and guitar instrumentals.

Live has become somewhat of a cult classic the last couple of decades and is guaranteed to get you in a good mood. Pure joy, happiness and bliss...

    Imperial Bedroom (On Sale)

Ranked 166/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Universally Hailed 1982 Pop Masterpiece Pairs Costello and Co. With Beatles Engineer Geoff Emerick

Record Topped Village Voices Pazz & Jop Critics Poll In Year of Its Original Release

Lavish Instrumentation, Involved Arrangements, and Piano-Based Melodies Frame Ambitious Songs That Address Domestic Malaise While Coming Off as Upbeat

Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Imperial Bedroom Joins Mobile Fidelitys Pristine LP Reissues of Costellos My Aim Is True, This Years Model, Armed Forces, Get Happy!!, and Almost Blue

Recorded with famed Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick, Imperial Bedroom stands as Elvis Costello and the Attractions most highly decorated traditional pop album. Boasting sumptuous arrangements, large-scale instrumentation, ambitious layers, Tin Pan Alley melodies, and orchestrated devices, the 1982 record is a testament to studio creativity and ornate production. Amidst the lavish settings beats the heart of Costellos biting, brutal lyrics that confront domestic malaise and sober emotional reflection. Its little wonder the intelligent effort took top honors in the Village Voices Pazz & Jop Critics Poll.

Not that audiences back in the day ever had the privilege of hearing Imperial Bedroom at its maximum potential. Now they can. Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited edition 180g LP opens up the soundstages, expands the depth, and brings the genius of the grand arrangements into clear focus. In particular, the sound of the piano will have you believe that the 88s are situated right in your room, and never before has Emericks crafty sonic precision been so readily apparent. This is a huge-sounding record that demands full frequency extension and astute separation. Mobile Fidelitys reissue delivers on all fronts. You need to hear this!

Ranked in 2005 by Rolling Stone at #166 on the magazines prestigious list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Imperial Bedroom overflows with contagious pop, savvy torch, cabaret, chamber, and jazz-influenced fare. If its details you seek, then look no further. With Emerick's assistance, each tune is distinguished with painstaking sonic accents, blended rhythms, counterpoint bass lines, dazzling passages, and inventive motifs. Accordions, tremolo guitars, organs, harpsichords, marimbas, horns, and an assortment of other instruments help color the subtly dark canvases. A 40-piece orchestra graces the gorgeous And In Every Home.

Originally intended to be a stripped-down affair, Imperial Bedroom reflects Costello's migration to composing on piano as well as his listening tastes at the time: Billie Holliday, Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra, Debussy. Intricate, expansive, and complex without ever sounding inaccessible, the record includes the now-classic Man Out of Time, Beyond Belief, and Almost Blue, the latter a ballad that Chet Baker included in his live sets until he passed away. In another stroke of brilliance, Costello used the record as an opportunity to address the melancholic changes in both his own personal situation as well as that of England, the songs functioning as smart, sometimes satirical dialogues on issues such as disenchantment, identity, and relationships.

Still considered by many the finest record released in 1982, don't pass up this extraordinary-sounding reissue.

Costellos Soulful Country & Western Covers Album Tackles Standard Tunes by George Jones, Hank Williams, Gram Parsons, and More

Expertly Played 1981 Set Marks the Second of the Encyclopedic Pop Musicians Many Forays Into Multiple Styles

Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Knockout Sonics Present Costellos Close-Up Vocals, Steve Nieves Piano, and the Pedal-Steel Guitars in Great Relief

Elvis Costello was so enamored with American country music when he finally discovered it, he was motivated to record Almost Blue. Renowned as one of the most passionate and enthusiastic covers albums ever made, the 12-song set finds the iconic singer/songwriter interpreting standards by the likes of Hank Williams, Gram Parsons, George Jones, Merle Haggard, and other legends. Replete with heartbreak, lonesomeness, boozing, cheating, and dreaming, its laden with country and westerns customary themes and dignified by one of the finest performances of Costello and the Attractions peerless career.

Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited edition 180g LP opens up the soundstages, clears previously muddled midrange frequencies, and places the imaging of the various country-tuned instruments into clear focus. For the first time, listeners can hear just how much of himself Costello invests in the vocal performances, while the Attractions dont miss a beat, particularly pianist Steve Nieve and guest musician John McFee. Moreover, the strings (when employed) take on new life, and the records cover art, a take-off on Kenny Burrells Midnight Blue, is faithfully reproduced.

At the time of the albums recording in 1981, Costello was admittedly emotionally shattered. The title of the effort isnt merely coincidental. Feeling dejected and disenchanted, the vocalist had been put through the ringer: His pop stardom yielded one incredible record after another, but Costellos marriage was in tatters, his behavior deplorable, and his reputation tarnished by a famous drunken incident that shamed him for decades. In addition, he chose to follow his string of original LPs up with the soul- and R&B-minded Get Happy, a creative masterwork that nonetheless caused some of his mainstream fans to believe hed abandon his hit-making pedigree.

So he did what any self-respecting, astute musician would want to do: Cut a country and western record steeped in heartbreak, fragility, sadness, despair, and beer-glass-raising spirit. Largely informed by the stacks of country LPs he bought in used shops during U.S. tours, and in the ideal frame of mind, Costello sought out not to make standards such as Sweet Dreams, Too Far Gone, Honey Hush, and Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down his own but to put a unique spin on the darkness, surprise, soulfulness, foreboding, and authenticity that they contain within.

With each note, Costello succeeds and exceeds expectations, turning in versions that sound both old and new. Such timelessness, and the confluence of contemporary and traditional, distinguishes Almost Blue from nearly every other country tribute album made by pop/rock artists before and since. Costello and the Attractions embody the deep sentiments attached to these weeping ballads, tear-jerking lullabies, honky-tonk rave-ups, and playful shuffles in an incredibly convincing manner. Producer George Sherrill, famous for working with the likes of Tammy Wynette, George Jones, and Marty Robbins, and brought on board specifically for the project, frames the music with the perfect blend of grit and professionalism.

Trust Is Most Eclectic and Ambitious Record of Elvis Costello's Career: "[His] Summit as a Singer, Songwriter, and Miserable-Irish-Bastard Pin-Up Boy" Says Rolling Stone

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Mobile Fidelity LP of Trust Enhances the Realism of the Songs' Advanced Arrangements and Nimble Accents

1981 Album Mixes R&B Rhythms and New-Wave Melodies: Includes "Clubland," "Watch Your Step," and "Strict Time"

The album cover to Trust speaks volumes: Elvis Costello, bathed in shadows, his eyes nervously peering out from behind his sunglasses, his face conveying a combination of edgy noir purpose and guilt-ridden anxiety. Of course, this being Costello and the Attractions, everything is wrapped into a catchy batch of songs that encourage listeners to hear them multiple times before they reveal their true intent. On Trust, almost nothing is what it seems, a condition that only enhances what remains the most diverse set of Costello's career. Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's transparent analog reissue lets music lovers in on the secrets via unsurpassed clarity and breathtaking immediacy.

Whether the full, rounded tones of Bruce Thomas' bass or complete extension and decay of Steve Nieve's organ, every instrumental accent is delivered with lifelike detail and superb balance. ''I'm glad that after 25 years, Death Waltz Recording Company has re-released the original soundtrack for Twin Peaks for a new audience to enjoy. This is my defining work as a composer and I'm happy it will get a fresh listen.''

    -Angelo Badalamenti, 2016

One of the greatest scores ever recorded is finally back in print for the first time in 25 years! We went back to the Warner archives, where engineer Tal Miller cut us brand new vinyl masters. We then worked with Dave Cheppa at Plush Vinyl to cut us new lacquers. Finally we asked Rainbo to press the record on 180g vinyl for the best possible sound quality.

The record comes housed inside a 425gsm gatefold sleeve featuring lyrics and liner notes by composer Angelo Badalamenti; the cover image by Sam Smith comes approved by David Lynch himself! The gatefold sleeve is then housed within a bespoke die cut outer jacket designed by Jay Shaw featuring super subtle white spot varnish text. The whole affair is finished with a top loading obi strip & pressed on 'Damn Fine Coffee' colored vinyl.

    Dad Country

Nashville songwriter Jonny Fritz's work ethic and boldness have paid off in spades. It's been a big year for Jonny with opening stints for Alabama Shakes, Deer Tick, Dawes, Shooter Jennings and kudos from CMT and Rolling Stone, among many others. He signed his deal this week (he actually signed the deal with gravy at Nashville landmark Arnold's Country Kitchen), and his third full-length album, Dad Country, is set for release on April 16, 2013.

Produced by Jonny and Dawes' Taylor Goldsmith, recorded at Jackson Browne's Los Angeles studio and finished up in Music City, USA; this breakthrough album balances Jonny's trademark earthy humor and unfiltered worldview with some of his darkest material to date. Co-producer Goldsmith says, "Funny as they can be at moments, his songs access realities and experiences that we're all familiar with but sometimes fail to consider the depths of."
While immersing himself in the music world, Jonny began running marathons from Philadelphia to Barcelona and pounding out his signature leather works - the dog collars and guitar straps - seen all over Nashville and half the musical universe. He found himself in NYC for year trying to save a relationship, and its slow, painful unraveling (and demise) inspired Dad Country's bleakest, heartrending tracks, including "All We Do Is Complain" and "Have You Ever Wanted to Die."

These days, life has never been better for Jonny Fritz. He's back in Nashville again and putting down roots- and has even gone and bought himself a house. "It just keeps getting better. Now, the band is getting paid, I'm getting paid, everybody's happy, and we're packing 'em in when we play."
"This is the dream life. I couldn't really ask for anything else."

100 Best Debut Albums of All Time- Rolling Stone

Okay, I know that Joe Jackson isn't exactly an unknown, but how many of you revere (or even own) this, his first album. And what an album it is! As well as the timeless Is She Really Going Out With Him? you get One More Time, Sunday Papers, Happy Loving Couples, Baby Stick Around and Fools In Love, most of them on a first side that hits it out of the park. Indeed, if it wasn't for Fools (possibly the best song here) many a record out there would be mint condition on side two. Happy coincidence meant that Jackson's poignant and acerbic observations on life and love, along with his impressive musical training and heritage collided headlong with the UK New Wave, opening wide the opportunities for his bitter-sweet songs.

His material and delivery draw inevitable comparisons with Elvis Costello, but for me, Jackson is a cut above our Declan. Of course, that might be home-town familiarity speaking and Joe and the boys were an ever-present part of the live music wall-paper while I was at college, but then The Cure, The Banshees and The Attractions were too, if on a more revolving basis, so he had plenty of competition for my attention and affections. But what makes this album stick is the sheer quality of the lyrics. Even an out and out rocker like One More Time has an observant intelligence and almost painful honesty, while Fools and Is She have stood the test of time, shored up by the barbed familiarity of their outsider's stance and subtly twisted viewpoint. These are songs that speak not just for their generation but all the generations that have followed.

The vocal is all angst and attitude, with driven riffs, bass that goes deep and drums that stay hit. What's not to like about a record that captures the life and energy of a classic four-piece rock band in full, uninhibited, unabashed overdrive. Me - I love it! -Roy Gregory,

Look Sharp! is sourced from the best tape currently available, a beautifully preserved ½" "safety copy" of the original stereo master. When mastering this LP we compared what we were getting off the tape to an original A&M UK LP. While great sounding overall, the original LP is of course a very edgy sounding New Wave, post-punk record with a brashness that borders on being outright bright sounding. Where the aggressive top -end energy is concerned, the tapes showed no discenible age! We were able to maintain that grungy edge, but also restore the driving bass lines and bottom-end foundation that were on these tapes. The result is the best-sounding Look Sharp! anyone's ever heard, with all the drive and pop of the original UK release, but with superb tonal balance, imaging and clarity. The definitive issue of this iconic New Wave classic!
