The Complete Concert By The Sea

Iconic Jazz artist Erroll Garner's greatest concert album and one of the best selling jazz albums of all time, The Complete Concert By The Sea, released in celebration of 60 years since the original concert.

The complete live concert recording - newly uncovered by the Erroll Garner Jazz Project and remastered in its entirety after six decades - is produced by Guggenheim® Award-winning jazz pianist and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Pittsburgh Geri Allen and 4-time GRAMMY®Award-winning producer Steve Rosenthal. The Complete Concert By The Sea will introduce a new generation to Erroll Garner and his innovative piano playing. It contains the complete live Concert By The Sea including 11 previously unreleased tracks, the original edited Columbia release from 1956 and bonus material including announcer Jimmy Lyons and interviews with the Erroll Garner trio: Denzil DaCosta Best, Eddie Calhoun, and Garner himself, recorded directly after the concert.

Sony Legacy President Adam Block remarks, "Concert By The Sea is a marvelous, mystical album that has been allowed to dangle on the periphery of broader recognition for far too long. Now for the first time, the complete recording and the remarkable story of this masterpiece can be heard and understood in all its glory. This really is a significant release - critically important to the preservation of one of the truly epic moments in live recorded performances.

    Ready Take One

Erroll Garner was one of the great American Jazz pianists of the 20th century, yet very few know his name or his music. Ready Take One is the first completely new Garner studio album in nearly 25 years.

As never before, listeners are treated to a rare peek behind the studio doors, with revealing conversation between Garner, his quartet, and longtime manager/producer Martha Glaser included between many of the songs. As pianist/producer Geri Allen writes, a kind of fifth member of the band, Glaser would support Erroll Garner in the moment of the creative act, as evidenced by the title of the album, a direct reference to Glaser's steady refrain of, Ready, take one.

Ready Take One features six never before released original Garner compositions, including the infectious Wild Music and beautiful ballad, Back To You. Recorded during a prolific five-year period beginning in 1967, all 14 songs on Ready Take One are previously unreleased, having only recently been discovered after nearly 50 years.

After a limited self-financed release, this self-titled album can be seen as the proper debut by Indigo Girls. The album immediately boosted them up the charts, earning them a Grammy back in 1989, eventually reaching platinum in 1991. Featuring the complementing songwriting of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray and guest vocals by R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, the album is a showcase for jangling folk-rock, beautiful balladry and poetic lyrics.

In the wake of the new acoustic song-based styles of Suzanne Vega, Tracy Chapman and 10,000 Maniacs, Indigo Girls would manage to garner respectable mainstream success and maintain their rabid core following throughout the three decades after this release.

Marquee Moon is the debut studio album by American rock band Television. It was released on February 8, 1977, through Elektra Records.

While often considered a seminal work to emerge from the New York punk scene of the mid-to-late 1970s, the album differed from conventional punk in its textured, guitar-based instrumental interplay and extended improvisation. As a result, it is also often cited as important to the development of post-punk in the late 1970s and 1980s.

Though it was critically acclaimed at the time of its release, the album failed to garner commercial success. Marquee Moon has since been cited by numerous publications as one of the greatest albums of rock music.

Baby Please / Just Walkin' In The Rain

Also released in 1953, Just Walking in the Rain by the Prisonaires was Sun's first certifiable hit. Penned Johnny Bragg and Robert Riley, both inmates at Tennessee State Prison, the solemn, haunting doo wop vibes were enough to garner the group, all incarcerated inmates, frequent day passes out of prison walls to perform across the state...including numerous engagements at the governor's mansion. The vocal prowess and good behavior on day trips would be enough for most group members to be pardoned by the governor. Elvis Presley often said the Prisonaires were his favorite vocal group and even covered Just Walking in the Rain on occasion. The proof is in the pudding on this one.

Re-Release Of Their 2012 Debut Full Length Album

Telephone was originally released in June 2012 independently by The Districts when they were just sophomores in high school in Lititz, PA. The album had a handful of tracks including "Funeral Beds", "Lyla" and "Long Distance" that helped the band garner attention outside of their small town following and eventually caught the ear of a few tastemakers in Philadelphia, including WXPN, as well as some prominent indie labels and music industry professionals across the nation. The band soon found a home in Fat Possum Records. After releasing a self-titled EP, featuring songs from Telephone along with a few new tracks, and their first full length LP on the label, A Flourish and A Spoil, they've decided to fulfill the many requests from fans across the world to put Telephone back into physical distribution and, for the first time, on vinyl." - The Key

    Era Vulgaris (Awaiting Repress)

Latin for common era, Era Vulgaris holds a pair of common threads with the four Queens of the Stone Age records that preceded it. One, it crosses colossal guitar chords with the most volatile of hard rock melodies. And second, it's as LOUD as loud gets, thanks to Josh Homme, the impatient instigator behind the ever-evolving cast of personalities that make up the band. Detonation comes with track one, as the jagged riffs of Turning on the Screw lead the listener into Sick, Sick, Sick, where Julian Casablancas spews his vocals beneath a wall of multi-guitar catcalls. Although the head Stroke will likely garner the most attention, perpetual Queener Mark Lanegan's velvety pipes earmark two of Era's most booming selections: the funky Make It Wit Chu (complete with Temptations-like backing vocals) and the heart-racing three minutes of River in the Road. Add the garage rock of Homme's 3's & 7's and Suture Up Your Future, easy pickings for most likely crossover hit, and Era Vulgaris-- hypnotically and explosively common--holds its own with any in the QoTSA discography. --Scott Holter

    Agents of the Underground

Over their tenure as the progenitors of the metal-infused punk sound, Strung Out have yet to get complacent. Instead, like a championship fighter that gets stronger with every round, they continually unleash a battering assault of technical guitar work and gripping melodies.

The band's latest full-length (7th overall), Agents of the Underground, is a triumphant defense of the title they've held for years. With blisteringly fast riffs, crushing rhythms, and powerful vocals, Agents of the Underground is quintessential Strung Out, yet, as with each succeeding release, the band manages to evolve their sound. This time around the band enlisted the producing talents of Cameron Webb (Motorhead, Social Distortion, Danzig, Pennywise) and from the very first moments of the album the success of the collaboration is overtly apparent. With passionate melodies that recall Strung Out's earlier albums and the ruthless aggressive music showcased on their recent releases, Agents of the Underground can be hailed as the perfect culmination of all their past efforts. As Strung Out fans have come to expect, the hybrid of raw pulsing emotion, scientific precision, and years of experience yields a product that far surpasses all imitators. Agents of the Underground is no exception to this, rather an escalation. One listen and you'll know exactly how the band maintains relevance and continues to garner new fans with each release.

    2014 Forest Hills Drive

    J. Cole, the Grammy nominated and platinum selling rapper, has released details on his third full length LP 2014 Forest Hills Drive via Roc Nation / Columbia. The album name is derived from the address of his actual childhood home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The project is a meditation on the value of love relative to worldly success. The 2014 Forest Hills Drive house marked a change for a young Cole and it spawned his path in rap. With an elevated sense of domestic pride (from trailer park to tree-lined street) to actually having privacy for the first time (his own room) this proved an instrumental time and the story flourishes from there. The house, eventually foreclosed on when Cole was still too young to help, was recently purchased back by him this past fall (his first property purchase) and he promptly invited fans to come and listen to the album at the end of November before anyone (including his label and press.)

    J. Cole chose to forgo a traditional industry album rollout in order to have it be a more personal experience for his fans. He wanted the album to be ingested as a whole. He wanted to limit pre-album hype and context. There were no singles released leading up to release and no early promotion to garner press. He wanted it to be pure for fans and he wanted the tale to be heard by them first and the perception to be personal and theirs alone.

To Release Is To Resolve (Awaiting Repress)

On their 5th full length album, underground groove metallers Byzantine are poised to deliver their most consistent and genre bending release to date. Byzantine, widely hailed as the most underrated band from the Nwoahm movement, returned after a 5-year hiatus as an independent artist in 2013 to rave reviews, garnering multiple album of the year awards and solidifying the bands underground cult status.
