Available For The First Time On Vinyl

    Limited Pressing Of 2,000

Remastered For The First Time Since The
    Album's 1994 Release

Daniel Johnston's Fun was originally released in 1994 on
Atlantic Records, while the singer/songwriter was housed
    in a mental institution.

This major-label debut is, arguably, his finest moment.
With considerable help from Butthole Surfer Paul Leary,
Johnston has never sounded so self-assured or confident
before. Exhibiting some of his strongest songwriting to
date, Fun is a rewarding record that never loses its initial,
    visceral appeal.

    100% Fun

Released in 1995, 100% Fun is the fifth album by Alternative Rock musician Matthew Sweet. Matthew Sweet's guitar-dominated, hook-laden power Pop runs through its 12 songs at a swift pace.

Behind Sweet's bright hooks lies something darker, the self-loathing of Sick Of Myself and the mental manipulation of We're The Same aren't evident from the sound of the record, which obliterates any hidden meanings with its chiming guitars and driving rhythms.

Sick of Myself was a big hit in 1995, placed in the Mainstream Rock Chart, Modern Rock Tracks, and The Billboard Top 100.

    Fear Fun

Father John Misty is the nom-de-plume of Josh Tillman, who has been releasing solo albums since 2003 and who recently left Seattle's Fleet Foxes after playing drums from 2008-2011. Fear Fun consists of such disparate elements as Waylon Jennings, Harry Nilsson, Arthur Russell, and Physical Graffiti, often within the same song. Tillman's voice has never been better, while the music maintains a dark, mysterious yet playful quality. Fear Fun is Father John Misty's Sub Pop debut and was produced by Phil Ek (Modest Mouse, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes).

The first wave of the surf music explosion spawned countless short-lived bands and one-shot studio projects. Many of those projects were quickly forgotten, but a handful have continued to inspire hushed reverence among surf aficionados. The latter category includes the Catalinas lone album, originally released in 1964 and out of print for more than four decades.

An all-star studio supergroup featuring legendary producer Terry Melcher, future Beach Boy Bruce Johnston and fabled Wrecking Crew members Hal Blaine, Jerry Cole, Steve Douglas, Leon Russell, Billy Strange and Tommy Tedesco, the Catalinas lived up to their impressive pedigree. In addition to rarely-heard tunes penned by Bobby Darin and a pre-Byrds Roger McGuinn, the album features potent versions of such surf and hot rod classics as Surfin U.S.A., Wipe Out, Banzai Washout, I Get Around and Summer Means Fun.

Long a rare collectors item, Fun Fun Fun is now back in its original vinyl format, remastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on high-definition vinyl, with complete original cover art.

    Big Fun

    180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl

    Gatefold Sleeve

Featuring Herbie Hancock, John Mclaughlin, Lonnie Listen Smith, Chick Corea, Wayyne Shorter, Joe Zawinul And Many Others

Originally released in 1974, Big Fun presents music from three different phases of Miles Davis's early-seventies electric period.

Sides one and four (Great Expectations and Lonely Fire) were recorded three months after the Bitches Brew sessions and incorporate sitar, tambura, tabla, and other Indian instruments. They also mark the first time since the beginning of Miles Davis's electric period that he played his trumpet with the Harmon mute which had been one of his hallmarks, making it sound much like the sitar. This contributed to creating a very clear and lean sound, highlighting both the high and low registers, as opposed to the busier sound of Bitches Brew which placed more emphasis on the middle and low registers.

Ife was recorded after the 1972 On the Corner sessions, and the framework is similar to tracks from that record. It has a drum and electric bass groove and a plethora of musicians improvising individually and in combinations over variations on the hypnotic bassline.

Recorded in March 1970, Go Ahead John is an outtake from Davis's Jack Johnson sessions. The recording is a riff and groove-based, with a relatively sparser line-up of Steve Grossman on soprano saxophone, Dave Holland on bass, Jack DeJohnette on drums, and John McLaughlin on guitar with wah-wah pedal.

    Fun In The Dark

What we have here is a complete re-imagining of a classic Groovie Ghoulies full length recording, as interpreted by the tough, melodic band from the Netherlands. Fans of the original album, Accelerators used to play Fun In the Dark (the song) in their live set, and augmented it even more when I came over to do some shows with them in Europe. The same sort of thing has happened with the band the Copyrights and the Groovie Ghoulies album Re-Animation Festival (but that's another story that you will hear about in the future!).

    No Fools, No Fun

While she's released five studio albums, sold 40 million albums and won 9 grammys, Norah Jones can't seem to get enough of changing things up! By
our count, this is the 100th recording project with which she's been involved in this short century, so it's safe to say she's a serial collaborator. And she
kills 'em all. Puss N Boots is no different: a trio of like-minded gals that finds Ms. Jones combining forces with pals Sasha Dobson - a fixture on the NYC
singer songwriter scene and a frequent NoJo cohort - and Catherine Popper - a noted bass player who's played with Ryan Adams, Jack White and Grace
Potter - for a fun-filled female trio. Their album NO FOOLS, NO FUN is a com-bo of classic country tunes (Johnny Cash, George Jones covers) and roots
rock pearls (Neil Young, The Band) with more recent alt-country faves (Wilco, Jeb Loy Nichols) and original songs from each of the members that all
simmers together right nice for a proper musical stew.

The Raleigh, North Carolina six piece, the Annuals is back with their sophomore album, Such Fun, co-produced by frontman Adam Baker and Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Tom Waits) who also produced the band's Wet Zoo EP. Such Fun is a record that is fully, electrifyingly alive, maintaining the breadth of the Annuals' scope while taking their sound in brilliant new directions. Straddling the line between epic post-rock, pop-rock guitar crunch, woozy country swings and orchestral ballads, Such Fun is revelatory in its depth and vision. The opener Confessor packs a killer, harmony-filled chorus layered with sweeping strings and keyboard flourishes, followed by the meditative Hot Night Hounds, the smoldering swoon of Always Do and the closing track Wake which beautifully blossoms with bold, cinematic strings. Such Fun sees the Annuals reaching the farthest parts of their musical imaginations and coming back with something incredible.

    Fun Trick Noisemaker (Awaiting Repress)

1995's Fun Trick Noisemaker was the first full-length installment in the ongoing musical journey that has grown out of frontman Robert Schneider's infatuation with recording techniques ranging from four-track bedroom recordings to 100-track studio experiments, to creating new musical scales and mind-controlled synthesizers. Not to mention his ongoing obsession with writing the perfect pop song, a song that even little kids or your grandparents can sing along with, as Schneider put it at the time.

That creative journey continues until this day. But more than just a starting point, Fun Trick Noisemaker stands on its own as a masterpiece in the indie rock canon, featuring some of the band's most loved and indelible tracks such as: Green Machine, Glow Worm and Tidal Wave among others.

Yep Roc Records is proud to reissue Fun Trick Noisemaker on 180g vinyl. These magical tunes seem somehow destined to spin on vinyl, not only as a nod towards the classic artists who inspired their creation, but because even in 1995 The Apples In Stereo considered vinyl to be the official medium of release. This special reissue incorporates all of the original artwork and liner notes, with rephotographed paintings by Steve Keene, including a four-color poster insert.

Pressed On 180g, Multi-Color Vinyl And Pressed At Record Industry

Each 2-LP Set Is Individually Numbered And Strictly Limited

Comes In A Gatefold Tip-On Stoughton Sleeve With Brand New Artwork

1970: The Complete Fun House Sessions was recorded at Elektra Sound Recorders in Los Angeles and compiled from all thirteen reels of multi-track tape that held every note and snippet of studio dialogue. Twelve reels of tape were used during the original sessions, with the thirteenth reel having the takes that would be used on the studio album.

This sprawling set which was originally aimed at the collector market would be challenging and cost prohibitive to reissue as a multi-disc vinyl box set. What is presented here is an attempt to assemble some of the best highlights from the Fun House Sessions on an officially-released 2LP set in high quality packaging with a sequence that hopefully proves to be an easier, and more casual listen.

Included are some terrific alternate versions of Down on the Street,Loose, Dirt, Funhouse, 1970 and others, pulled from session reels 1,4, 6, 7, 9 and 11 and originally recorded on May 11, 12, 15, 18, 21 and 25 of 1970. Also notable is the inclusion of the 17+ minute version of L.A. Blues, titled as Freak, which encompasses the entire fourth side of this set and is the prime example of what makes the Fun House Sessions both loved and feared.

The Innermost Limits Of Pure Fun Soundtrack

    Translucent Gold Vinyl

Includes A Four-page Insert With Rare Photos

Liner Notes By Denny Aaberg And Dennis Dragon

Innermost Limits of Pure Fun, with its whimsical, philosophical "California" title, was a groundbreaking project in the history of sports footage. Filmmaker George Greenough was unencumbered by any commercial reasons for designing boards, boats, or in his wave riding technique, a true SOUL SURFER if there ever was one. With the means, and ideas, to use underwater camera gear that had not been previously used - and still rarely used to such great effect - Greenough's two late '60s cinematic efforts were the maximum effect, in the effort of communicating the feel of surfing to the viewer. Some of the non-surfers overwhelmed by the beauty of his work within "Innermost" came to George and offered their help for the follow-up, to be titled Echoes. These ho-dads from England were better known to the world as Pink Floyd.

In choosing who to soundtrack his debut masterpiece, Greenough went with the most dynamic band to record during the surf instrumental era of the early '60s, Capitol Records 45 r.p.m. artists The Dragons, who released "Troll" in 1964. The single was actually an excerpt from a soundtrack recorded for the early Dale Davis film Strictly Hot. What set it apart from the reverbed surf crunchers of the early '60s was its beyond "Pipeline" instrumentation. Keyboard riffs meshed fluidly with bass harmonica, sophisticated percussion, snap drums, and a fuzzy guitar ripping through bass lines so thick you would swear there was an orchestra behind them. That made sense, since the father of some Dragons was leader of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Carmen Dragon.

By 1969, The Dragons had progressed within a world ready for jazz improvisation in rock. Some of them had toured with the "Good Vibrations" era Beach Boys. It was with great intuition that George Greenough chose The Dragons for this soundtrack to "Innermost Limits of Pure Fun," for they had been itching to do a project where they could really let themselves GO. Skull With Antlers

With drums that call to mind John Bonham playing sides of beef and bass tones that alternate between motorcycle rumble and insectoid modulation and filtering, Skull With Antlers is forty-five minutes of doomy frenetic noise with occasional forays into quiet minimalism and copy-and-paste sound sculpture. W.T. Nelson (Geronimo, Bastard Noise) shows up on a couple of tracks with his brood of Trogotronic outboard gear to contribute painful frequencies across the range of human hearing.

    Navigator

Navigator is the third album by Her Name is Calla and their first through Function Records. It follows on from their critically acclaimed album The Quiet Lamb. Written over the course of the last three tumultuous years as life, death, distance, divorce and everything else in between tried its best to pull the band apart. It retains the bands own personal sound of soaring strings, and crescendos with footing equally in rock, electronica and folk.. It is a story of losing love, life, faith and identity, and the great depression that brings. More importantly, it is about finding the way back home again.
