    Goat

Remastered from Original Masters by Steve Albini and Bob Weston.

A head-splitting jolt of relentless anxiety, frantic paranoia, concussive racket, and oddball frenzy, The Jesus Lizards Goat became an instant indie-rock landmark upon its 1991 release. Instigating, cutthroat, and snarling through broken teeth, it became the blueprint followed by the likes of Nirvana, Helmet, Fugazi, and the Melvins, and its never sounded better!

Part of Touch & Gos stellar Jesus Lizard reissue campaign, the pioneering Goat has been meticulously remastered from the original tapes by Bob Weston (Mission of Burma, Shellac) and original engineer Steve Albini. The new pressing presents Goat in a sonic light that exceeds even the best expectations. Theres greater space between instruments, heightened dynamics, a more solidified mid-range, extended imaging, deeper soundstage, and an incredible boost in energy. Benefitting from Albinis dry, no-frills production, indie-rock has seldom sounded so dangerous, physical, or fervent.

Take Off Your Pants And Jacket

Mastered For Vinyl And Lacquers Created By Kevin Gray, Cohearent Audio

    Gatefold Jacket With 11 x 11 Insert

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is the fourth studio album by the American pop punk band Blink-182. Produced by Jerry Finn, the album was released on June 12, 2001, through MCA Records. The band had spent much of the previous year traveling and supporting the album Enema of the State (1999), which launched the band's mainstream career. The title is a tongue-in-cheek pun on male masturbation (take off your pants and jack it). The cover art has icons for each member of the trio: an airplane (take off), a pair of pants and a jacket. Several different editions were released with additional bonus tracks.

The album was primarily recorded over three months at Signature Sound in San Diego. During the sessions, MCA executives pressured the band to retain the sound that helped their previous album sell millions. As such, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket continues the pop punk sound that the group honed and made famous, albeit with a heavier tone inspired by groups such as Fugazi and Refused. Regarding lyrics, the album has been referred to as a concept album chronicling adolescence, with songs dedicated to first dates, fighting authority and teenage parties. Due to differing opinions on direction, the trio worked in opposition to one another for the first time, and the sessions sometimes became contentious.

The album had near-immediate success, becoming the first punk rock-identified record to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 and being certified double platinum within three weeks. The album produced three hit singles - The Rock Show, First Date and Stay Together for the Kids - that were top ten hits on modern rock charts. Critical impressions of the record were generally positive, commending the record's expansion on teenage themes; others viewed this as its weakness. To support the record, the band co-headlined the Pop Disaster Tour with Green Day. A European tour was canceled in the wake of the September 11 attacks. Take Off Your Pants and Jacket has sold over 14 million copies worldwide. Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is the fourth studio album by the American pop punk band Blink-182. Standing In The Way Of Control

The first thing that strikes you is the rhythm. The Gossip have been making punks dance since they debuted 5 years ago, long before dance punk existed. Soulful and jagged, you can hear everything from Dischord to Motown in Brace's playing. Now, with the addition of new drummer Hannah Blilie (Shoplifting, ex-Chromatics) they have a new thundering beat for the kids to dance to on the corners and in the clubs.

The next thing that smacks you is Beth's voice, all the guttural blues of the South is in that inimitable instrument. It resonates with the confidence that is in her lyrics asking people to hold on just a little bit longer, re-assuring the youth that there are others out there, and spitting in the face of all who say otherwise!

Standing in the Way of Control, their third album, was recorded by Guy Picciotto (Fugazi) at Seattle's Bear Creek. From heartbreakers like ''Coal to Diamonds'' to the anthemic title track, released as a single with a Le Tigre remix, the band is unafraid to put it all out there and take their audience to new places. This is the sound of a band destroying and surpassing all expectations placed on them.

Age of Octeen, the sophomore full-length from Braid, mixes passionate vocals, excellent wordplay, dueling guitars and a relentless rhythm section. Once the heir apparent to the post-Fugazi/Jawbox throne, Braid released three albums before deciding to call it quits in 1999. Out of print on vinyl for over a decade, this long awaited reissue is re-mastered by John Golden (Nirvana, Melvins, Sonic Youth).

JOE LALLY played bass in FUGAZI from the bands inception in 1987 until their hiatus in 2003. When the members of Fugazi decided to take an indefinite break from recording and performing Joe began working on solo material and has continued to write and perform new material in collaboration with a wide variety of musicians and friends. Joe has released two albums on Dischord Records, There to Here in 2006 and Nothing is Underrated in 2007, and has toured extensively in the USA, Europe, Brazil, Japan and beyond. Joes albums and his tours have until recently featured a large cast of collaborators including his Fugazi mates, members of Capillary Action, Zu, Melvins, and others. On Joes newest album, Why Should I Get Used to It, he has settled on a more permanent line-up featuring his current touring mates, guitarist ELISA ABELA and drummer EMANUELE TOMASI. The album was recorded in Rome, where Joe has lived for the last several years, and is being released on Dischord in conjunction with Joes imprint, Tolotta Records. Joe and his band will continue to tour in 2011, with dates in Europe and Brazil already booked, and many more dates and territories to follow.

    Consider It Contempt

Consider it abrasive--so abrasive that were one able to somehow bottle this album, it would easily remove even the most resistant, ahem, grunge. It is indeed quality K.C. (Kansas City) noise. Were Fugazi less dogmatic and more psychotic, they'd aspire to sound like this. Guitarist/vocalist Scott Durgin uses his instrument like a screaming buzz saw, cutting a path through the thick tangle of the battling rhythm section. His voice is that of an apoplectic drill sergeant gone blue in the face, spittle dotting the corners of his taut mouth. Consider It Contempt is fiercely angry and aggressive. It is ugly and jagged. It is raw like a bloody cement abrasion. All this is good. --Adem Tepedelen

    District Line

Guitarist/singer/songwriter Mould returns to form as a solo artist on his Anti debut. District Line combines the fire of his earliest work in Husker Du, the accessibility of his alternative rock, genre-defining trio Sugar, and the introspection found in his solo releases. He describes it as stories of my simple life in a complicated town, that being his adopted city of Washington, DC. Working with Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty, Mould has returned to the live band sound of Husker Du and Sugar to kick out ten songs that sound as youthful, energized, and immediate as anything he has ever recorded. This is a full on rock 'n' roll record, featuring members of Fugazi, and will appeal to fans of that band, as well as new fans raised on Alkaline Trio and Against Me.

The Body, The Blood, The Machine

The Body, The Blood, The Machine was recorded at Supernatural Sound Studios in Oregon City, twenty miles
south of The Thermals' home in Portland, OR by Fugazi's Brendan Canty. With the unfortunate departure of original Thermals drummer Jordan Hudson in late 2005, Kathy Foster and Hutch Harris (bass and guitar/vocals, respectively) split up duties on the new record themselves with Foster pulling double shifts as The Thermals' rhythm section for almost the entire record while Harris sang, performed all the guitar tracks, played some bass-and the two shared keyboard/organ duties.

With a wider, brighter, and wilder sound than anything The Thermals have done in the past, The Body, The Blood, The Machine adds walls of guitars, organs, and even a few ballads (aka slightly pretty songs) to the mix, while still retaining the gritty post-pop-punk sound for which The Thermals are globally famous. The lyrics envision a United States governed by a fascist Christian state, and focus on the need (and means) to escape. While hardly a concept album, there is definitely a story told in the songs: a story about getting the fuck out while you still can.

A Mile In Cold Water (Discontinued) (On Sale)

Without the radical departure in style so typical of big musical strides, Garrison takes their songwriting talent to new heights with their debut full length, A Mile In Cold Water. This long awaited LP incorporates driving rock with soaring melodies, seamless transitions and insightful lyrics. Produced by Kurt Ballou (Cave-In, Converge, Isis, Piebald), the record is somehow distorted while clear harmonies run throughout. Fans of everything from Mineral to Fugazi will want to give this a listen. But Garrison's sound isn't easy to classify - Land Of Treason 'zine perhaps said it best: Garrison is too awkward and off-kilter for the indie-pop tag and too musically intricate and textured for any of the hardcore pigeonholes.

    Cortar Todo

For over fifteen years, Zu's modus operandi of straddling and abusing musical genres has resulted in over fifteen unique album releases across labels such as Ipecac, Atavistic and Headz (Japan). Their experimental amalgam of metal, math, no-wave, noise and electronics, led acclaimed composer John Zorn to describe their sound as a powerful and expressive music that totally blows away what most bands do these days.

In the running for the title of the world's hardest working band, Zu have performed over 1000 shows throughout Europe, US, Canada, Asia, Russia, Mexico and even Africa, touring with the like of Mike Patton (as the Zu/Patton quartet), also sharing the stage with Faith No More, Fantômas, The Melvins, Lightning Bolt, Sonic Youth, The Ex, and countless others. They have also collaborated with a vast number of musicians including Mike Patton, The Melvins, DÄlek, Jim O' Rourke, FM Einheit (Einsturzende Neubauten), Peter Brötzmann, Nobukazu Takemura, Eugene Robinson (Oxbow), Steve MacKay (The Stooges), The Ex, Thurston Moore, Stephen O Malley, Damo Suzuki (Can), Mats Gustafsson, NoMeansNo, Joe Lally (Fugazi).

Five years since their last full length on Ipecac, the critically acclaimed Carboniferous, and following a three year hiatus, Zu returned in May 2014 with the release of a brand new EP, Goodnight Civilization (Trost Records) and with a line up change that introduced the mighty Gabe Serbian, best known as the drummer for the legendary Californian band, The Locust.

In March 2015, Zu are preparing to release a brand new full length via Ipecac Recordings, entitled Cortar Todo, and recorded in the countryside near Bologna, Italy, in the summer of 2014. The album features some very special guests including keyboard player Joey Karam (The Locust), Italian guitar maverick Stefano Pilia (who plays regularly with the likes of Mike Watt, David Grubbs and Rokia Traore) and perhaps most unexpectedly, a field recording of an indigenous Shipibo medicine man recorded by Massimo during his travels around the Amazon.

Cortar Todo reveals new dynamics from the band, the album is more direct, sharp, focussed, and more intense and musical than anything we have heard from Zu so far. In addition to the album release, we can expect a long period of touring starting in Spring 2015.

Say Anything has been making odd, unclassifiable indie-rock music since they were teenagers, playing strangely literate and loud rock, characterized by what one might imagine if Larry David fronted a Fugazi cover band with the members of Queen. Having been birthed from the indie/punk boom of the early 21st century, Say Anything rose to prominence with 2004's ...Is A Real Boy and broke the pretty boy punk mold with 2007's equally eclectic and lengthy In Defense of the Genre and their exceedingly unruly 2009 self-titled release. Thought Forms / Ebsen & The Witch Split LP

Esben's side immediately reaches a fever pitch as 'No Dog' drags itself up from the primordial ooze of Sonic Youth's early years mastery of cacophony and dissonance, underpinned by the volatile rhythmic propulsion of Fugazi or Hoover. The lone voice left unadorned in the eye of the storm comes from bassist and vocalist Rachel Davies, who summons up the fiery catharsis of Chelsea Wolfe or Sharon Van Etten. The trio's other contribution here, 'Butoh', pursues an altogether more tribal path, kicking up a fury and intensity rarely matched this side of the pond these days. Thought Forms find an equally cathartic voice across their four songs, but achieve it by totally different means: dressing their tracks up with the swirling swathes of guitar you'd expect from the dreamier edges of the '80s US lexicon. 'For the Moving Stars' jolts forward from the off with the sort of driving, hypnotic lead lines you'd expect from J Mascis, that is were he armed with Steve Turner's pedal collection. 'Your Bones', meanwhile, is a disarming slow-burner that creeps its way into the back of your mind, erupting from what could have been an early Low cut into an uphill battle against tumbling drums and guitars that crackle like a bonfire on a crisp Autumn night.

The album 'Citizen Zombie' has been produced by one of the biggest names in commercial pop music, multi Grammy and Academy Award winner Paul Epworth (Adele, U2, Florence & The Machine). The album, features original members Mark Stewart (lyrics / vocals), Gareth Sager (guitar), Dan Catsis (bass), and Bruce Smith (drums). The announcement of the new album has been received with great enthusiasm from major music sites across the globe, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and Noisey to name a few. Rolling Stone recently featured The Oral History of The Pop Group, citing the band as inspiration for everyone from Nick Cave to Nine Inch Nails, and going on to say:" They paved the way for Fugazi's politicized dissonance, Massive Attack and Nine Inch Nails' larger-than-life soundscapes, and the dancefloor-friendly art-rock moves of contemporary bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Liars."

    What Am I Doing

Debut Album From This Brooklyn Band

Album Produced By Annabel Alpers Of Bachelorette (Drag City)

Mixed By Adam Cooke (Beach House / Double Dagger)

Lushes are a band born of tensions - between art and math,
order and chaos, planning and chance. You can hear it in their
songs - taut, twitching art-punk that balance anxiety and elation,
often within the space of a few bars. Album opener Harsh glides
along slowly, feeling like a moody and measured art-rock
meditation until you zero in on the words in the chorus: Harsh on
my ears, that's the way I like it. This is push-pull music, songs
that temper the jagged fitfulness of groups like June of 44 and
Slint with the soft-focus sweetness and open-ended song
structures of The Sea & Cake and The Notwist.

That moods so diametrically opposed can peacefully coexist is
part of Lushes mystery and allure. That duality extends to the
group's background. James Ardery and Joel Myers were living in
worlds far removed from music, both working day jobs that
neither of them enjoyed. Their personalities were different -
James was outspoken and gregarious, Joel introverted and
reserved. Their musical backgrounds were different: James grew
up pillaging his father's record collection, getting turned on to
Nirvana and Wu-Tang Clan by his older brother and attending
hardcore shows by pioneering bands like Fugazi at 12 years old.
Joel was formally trained, loving classical music but almost
completely oblivious to rock and pop. The fusion of their disparate
influences is what animates Lushes - the anarchy of punk and
hardcore colliding with the precision of jazz to create music that is
marvelously ordered while still feeling seconds away from
detonation. That tension pulses throughout What Am I Doing, the
group's warring influences making for music that feels brittle and
    vital.

    Let's Get Metaphysical

Described by the NME as sounding like 'Weezer being beaten up by The Dillinger Escape Plan', Carnivores draw influence from Fugazi, At The Drive-In, Idlewild, Helmet, Elvis Costello and Nirvana. Carnivores are a three-piece rock band based in Paisley, Scotland. Formed in the late 2000's they got to work the old fashioned way, touring the toilet venues of Scotland in a battered estate car building a fan-base show by show. They quickly gained a reputation as one of the craziest live bands in Scotland. Carnivores are: Kenny Leckie (vocals / guitar), Grant M (bass/vocals) and Martin Johnston (drums/backing vocals). Their debut album 'Let's Get Metaphysical'. Recorded live in just six days with producer Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic/Fatherson), the album captures the raw intensity of the band's live show matched with a more melodic, introspective aspect to Carnivores sound.

TUBERS: Organic creations, blooming beneath the soil while drawing nutrients from their surroundings, soon to be unearthed, cooked, and consumed by native populations. Also, Floridian slang for two populations. The first; those who float upon inflatable inner tubes in aimless, lackadaisical delight down the states many freshwater springs. The second; those who seek adventure tucked away in the innermost furl of a wave just before it washes ashore. Finally, four longtime friends who make music for the purpose of challenging themselves and hopefully those around them. They draw inspiration from their namesakes and channel these feelings through guitars, throats, and drums. Angular riffs swerve throughout the mix atop surf-influenced rhythms, with the aggressive trappings of previous efforts remaining apparent but not overbearing. They speak in dialects and metaphors, fluctuating seamlessly amongst obtuse structures, shifting momentums, and rolling cascades. Features members of TWELVE HOUR TURN, TRUE NORTH, STRIKEFORCE DIABLO, ASSHOLEPARADE, WE MODERNS, and others. For fans of Obits, Rites of Spring, Wipers, Milemarker, and Fugazi. No Export to Europe.

    With Love (On Sale)

Prize Country click together perfectly. For the last 3 years it's if the only time they're not on tour is to write songs and record them. Having dished out a full length, a few EPs, and a bunch of splits they took some time to hone the songs that would comprise With Love, their second full length and debut for Hex Records. These four road dogs create music that is rooted in early 90's post-hardcore dynamics of sound, texture, and a good deal of heaviness that brings to mind Quicksand, Drive Like Jehu, Fugazi, as well as later-era Snapcase and then cranks the volume to obscene levels so as to destroy audiences right after they knock their socks off with their energy and musicianship. Prize Country will be tour throughout the Fall, covering these United States before embarking on a European tour in the Winter. After that, who knows? More than likely either back on the road or writing more songs in their never-ending quest for the perfect riff.

    Constant Future

Constant Future is the career-defining statement from Brooklyn-based noise-pop trio Parts & Labor. The albums 12 tracks deliver the bare essentials that made them sui generis totems of modern art-punk: synthesized keyboard riffs distorted into oblivion, percussion pummeled hypnotically, crackling drones that haunt and soothe, fearless melodies hollered skyward. Their last release, 2008s acclaimed Receivers, saw Parts & Labor blasting off in all directions and creating collage art from hundreds of fan-curated samples. But fifth album Constant Future finds them crashing back to earth, focusing pointedly on what they do best: unique, electronic landscapes melded with buzzing, anthemic hooks. Parts & Labor have distilled the lessons and experiences of nearly 10 years as a band into a catchy, blown-out masterwork.

Maximalist engineer Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Mogwai, Sleater-Kinney, MGMT) co-produced and mixed the album with P&L at his Tarbox Road Studios in Casadega, NY. A band already known for their dense, futuristic sound was ultimately transformed into something massive, beaming, downright nuclear. The album is the product of two years of vigorous writing and demoing which resulted in more than 40 songs. For the actual recording, Parts & Labor settled in a former boxing ring in Milwaukee to track the record themselves, with drummer Joe Wong leading the charge.

Over Constant Future's 39 minutes, vocalists Dan Friel and BJ Warshaw steadfastly chronicle several whirlwind years of growth, taking lyrical cues from the artful work of their musical heroes (Sonic Youth, Lungfish, Fugazi,Wire). The pair weave tales of teeth-baring city-scapes (Fake Names, Echo Chamber), the anxiety of death (Rest, Never Changer) and the horrifying pitfalls of our nascent century (Outnumbered, Skin And Bones). But, as their sunny refrains would imply, theres always a glimmer of hope, acceptance and love buried just beneath Parts & Labors paranoid surface (Without A Seed, Hurricane, A Thousand Roads).

    Cost of Living

    Includes Poster

The United States' myriad inequalities, hatreds and phobias are painfully evident in 2017, offering proof that the age-old dichotomy of political bands versus apolitical bands simply doesn't exist. Either you are comfortable and unfazed by the current reigning power structures, or you use your music as a vehicle for the dismantling of oppression and the creation of something better. No matter what your songs are about, you are choosing a side.

The position of Providence, RI's Downtown Boys has been clear since they started storming through basements and DIY spaces with their radically-minded rock music: they are here to topple the white-cis-het hegemony and draft a new history. Downtown Boys began by combining revolutionary ideals with boundless energy and contagious, inclusive fun, and their resolve has only strengthened as their sound and audience have grown.

Cost of Living is their third full-length, following a self-released 2012 debut and 2015's Full Communism on Don Giovanni Records. They recorded it with Guy Picciotto (Fugazi; producer of Blonde Redhead, The Gossip), one of indie-rock's most mythological figures, in the producer's chair. Picciotto fostered the band's improvisational urges while pulling the root of their music to the forefront: unflinching choruses, fearlessly confrontational vocals, and the sense that each song will incite the room into action, sending bodies into motion that were previously thought to have atrophied.

Downtown Boys are keenly aware of the increased visibility and credibility that comes with signing to a corporate-media conglomerate such as Sub Pop. They're using this platform as a megaphone for their protest music, amplifying and centering Chicana, queer, and Latino voices in the far-too-whitewashed world of rock. In just one example, album-opener A Wall rides the feel-good power that drove so many tunes by The Clash and Wire as it calls out the idea that a wall could ever succeed in snuffing the humanity and spirit of those it's designed to crush.

Compared to previous efforts, Downtown Boys have shifted from a once-meaty brass section to the subtler melodic accompaniment of keyboards and a saxophone, coloring their anthems with warm, bright tones while singer/lyricist Victoria Ruiz spits out her frustrations and passions. Some might say it shows a sense of maturity, as Downtown Boys have undoubtedly smoothed down some of their earlier edges, but there is no compromise to their righteous assault and captivating presence. Like the socially conscious groups of years past, from Public Enemy to Rage Against the Machine, Downtown Boys harness powerful sloganeering, repetitive grooves, and earworm hooks to create one of the most necessary musical statements of the day. We should all do well to take notice!
