For a legacy filled with legendary performances, the Grateful Dead Live at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on August 13th 1975 stands out. The band only played 4 shows during that entire year! (Remarkable for a band that toured non-stop for decades) and at their August 13th show, they rolled multi-track tape (which allowed for the band decades later to properly mix the show).
Because the Great American Music Hall holds less than 1,000 people (another unique thing about this show), it was an invitation only performance in which the band debuted their recent studio album Blues For Allah in a live setting.
Although One From The Vault has been available on CD nearly continuously since 1991, the vinyl version was only available for less than a year (and in Europe only) in the early 1990's. This deluxe vinyl reissue marks the first time this legendary show has been available anywhere in over 20 years and the first time in America.
Rolling Stone magazine has described One From The Vaultas:
''The closest the Dead came in the Seventies to the band's trippy, late-Sixties peak, and the performance indulged the group's jazzy, free-form impulses even further. ''Help on the Way,'' ''Franklin's Tower'' and ''The Music Never Stopped'' cohere into a twenty-minute song cycle. ''King Solomon's Marbles,'' a tumbling, polyrhythmic instrumental by bassist Phil Lesh, crackles with energy. Inventive percussion duets by Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann are appended to ''Eyes of the World,'' as well as to the pretty, elliptical ''Crazy Fingers.'' The crowning touch is ''Blues for Allah,'' which runs 21 minutes and explores inner space with a meditative intensity barely hinted at on the studio version.''1. Introduction

From The Vault - The Marquee Club Live In 1971A sought-after, rare club performance from The Rolling Stones in 1971 filmed at London's iconic Marquee Club will finally see the light of day, after almost two decades of being stored away in an attic. The Rolling Stones From The Vault: The Marquee - Live in 1971 will finally be released.
This remarkable performance was filmed for US television in 1971, shortly after The Rolling Stones had completed their 1971 Farewell Tour of the UK, and a month before the release of the album Sticky Fingers. The gig marked the first time tracks 'Brown Sugar', 'Dead Flowers', 'Bitch' and the rarely performed 'I Got The Blues' were showcased live; four tracks taken from the Sticky Fingers album. The line-up at this time was Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman.
The show was an intimate, rare club appearance and very little footage has been released, until now. Part of the "From The Vault" series of live concerts from the band's archive, The Rolling Stones From The Vault: The Marquee - Live In 1971 is a must own DVD for any Stones fan, featuring carefully restored footage and sound mixed to perfection by Bob Clearmountain, including 5.1 surround sound.
The release of The Rolling Stones From The Vault: The Marquee - Live In 1971 coincides with the special edition of album Sticky Fingers, and includes alternative takes of 'I Got The Blues' and 'Bitch', plus a Top of the Pops performance of 'Brown Sugar' from 1971.1. Live With Me

Death To False Metal is not a traditional collection of studio leftovers or songs from the vault, but a wholly original follow-up to Weezer's just-released Hurley. The album was created using the basic tracks of 10 previously unreleased recordings-nine never-before-heard songs plus one cover-to assemble a brand new and truly modern-sounding record. The result is an evolution for the band, a giant step forward with a nod to the past.
''These were great songs, great recordings, but for some reason they didn't make the final cut for previous records,'' Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo stated. ''Some just weren't right for the albums we were recording at the time-just a bit ahead of their time or too 'rock.' Now, the time is right to introduce them. Together, they are the album that should logically follow Hurley.''
Featuring tracks the band originally began recording from the late '90s to late '00s, Death To False Metal was a labor of love for Cuomo and his co-producer Shawn Everett, as well as the entire band. Each track was individually evaluated by the production team of Cuomo and Everett to figure out how to make each of the songs reach their full potential, and ultimately fit harmoniously on the album. After that process, they then brought in each band member in to complete the parts needed. Some of the ten songs received a major overhaul, while others got the equivalent of a sonic tune-up.
''Turning Up The Radio'' is the result of Cuomo's 2008 collaborative YouTube project, ''Let's Write A Sawng,'' for which he invited fans to submit ideas. As they went through the steps of composing a tune, eventually, 15 people became involved. This track is one of only two songs not solely penned by Weezer for Death To False Metal.
''Blowin' My Stack,'' ''Losing My Mind'' (which features some of the most raw and personal emotions in a Weezer song), ''I'm A Robot,'' and a rock cover of the massive R&B hit ''Un-Break My Heart'' were all first recorded prior to the release of 2005's Make Believe. ''I Don't Want Your Loving'' was originally laid down as a demo for 2002's Maladroit. The abrasive punk-metal ''Everyone'' hails from post-1998 Pinkerton period, as does the pop song ''Trampoline.'' The piano-based ''Odd Couple'' and new-wave-style ''Auto-Pilot'' were laid down prior to 2008's Weezer (aka ''The Red Album'').
The title Death To False Metal comes from a phrase that Cuomo and his younger brother used when they were kids. Musical integrity was a matter of life or death then, and now the new album is a reminder of how important music is for both Weezer and their many fans. At a time when many of their contemporaries seem to have forgotten how to rock, Weezer is ready to teach them. Cuomo and fellow axe-slinger Brian Bell crafted nine epic guitar solos-one for nearly every song on Death To False Metal-and with the band's signature hooks in full effect, Weezer's school of rock is back in session.1. Some Girls: Super Deluxe EditionRanked 269/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Includes the Original Album Remastered on CD, a Bonus CD with Extras Unearthed by Producer Don Was, a 7 Single, DVD, Unseen Photos by Helmut Newton and an Essay by Anthony DeCurtis
Universal Music Group and The Rolling Stones present the remastered, expanded, Super-Deluxe edition of their groundbreaking 1978 album, Some Girls, which introduced the band to a whole new generation of fans. Justly considered one of the finest works by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman and Ronnie Wood, Some Girls topped the US charts over three decades ago and remains the best selling album of their storied career.
In addition to the remastered album on CD and some undiscovered gems recently unearthed from the Rolling Stones vaults by producer Don Was, the Super Deluxe Edition of Some Girls will include a stunning, previously unseen Helmut Newton photo session from 1978, an essay by esteemed author and journalist Anthony DeCurtis putting the album in its cultural context, a 7 vinyl single of Beast of Burden b/w When The Whip Comes Down in its banned sleeve and Ken Regan shots from the era.
Some Girls is the Rolling Stones' most direct and diverse collection of material from Mick Jagger's irresistible falsetto on the four-on-the-floor filler Miss You, their eighth U.S. #1, to the country-flavored Far Away Eyes via the Chuck Berry meets punk snarl of Respectable. And let's not forget the sensuous, Beast of Burden, one of Keith Richards' finest tunes, which reached #8 on the U.S. singles chart, the garage rocker Shattered, the albums' third U.S. Top 40 entry, and the soulful swagger of the group's version of The Temptations' Just My Imagination, another timeless offering in their canon of classic Stones Motown covers.
Following the critical praise and commercial success afforded the re-mastered, expanded editions of Exile On Main Street, which matched the chart performance of the epochal 1972 album, and returned the Rolling Stones to their rightful place at the top of the British charts in 2010, the extensive reissue of Some Girls constitutes the next step in the band's ongoing relationship with Universal Music Group.
Some Girls holds a special place in the history of the Rolling Stones and demonstrates why they remain one of the most thrilling and influential bands of all time. The 1978 album features the Keith Richards' classic Before They Make Me Run, a signature song he still performs defiantly to this day. Some Girls documented Mick Jagger's love of 1970's funk reflected in Miss You, the dance track that wrong footed many people, made the club and black charts, and made it okay for other mainstream acts at the time to 'go disco'.
The 1978 album also courted controversy because of Jagger's tongue-in-cheek lyrics on the title track, on Miss You and on Respectable, perceived as a retort to the punk and new wave groups who had borrowed so much attitude and copped so many anti-establishment moves from the Rolling Stones. Ironically, the furor around the elaborate Some Girls package, designed by Peter Corriston and featuring the band members in drag, a nod in the direction of the picture on the 1966 single Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing in the Shadow? and likenesses of Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, Raquel Welch, Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe that hadn't been legally cleared, necessitating a swift withdrawal and rethink.
Some Girls demonstrated the distinctive and definitive riffing from Keith Richards, with its abundance of unstoppable licks and majestic power chords driving the band into its brand new musical direction. This album not only defined him and his playing, but also defined a new era for the Rolling Stones, with Richards since described as a sense of renewal. Some Girls marks the only other time since recording Satisfaction where Richards used an effects pedal to 'elevate' the sound.
The album cemented the position of guitarist Ronnie Wood, who had joined in 1975, and added his trademark slide and pedal steel playing to several of the album's most memorable tracks, including When the Whip Comes Down and Shattered. He also co-wrote the Shattered B-side Everything Is Turning To Gold. Some Girls also marked a move to the Pathe Marconi Studios in Paris for the Glimmer Twins production team of Jagger and Richards. These factors helped what is arguably the group's most focused and dynamic album, driven by the sans pareil rhythm section of drummer Charlie Watts and bassist Bill Wyman.
Some Girls featured fewer guest musicians than any Rolling Stones album since 1971, but the contributions keyboard-player Ian McLagan, Wood's bandmate in The Faces, saxophone-player Mel Collins, and harmonica player Sugar Blue (discovered busking on the Paris metro), made Miss You in particular sound brighter than ever.
Thirty-three years on from its original release, the re-mastered expanded, Super Deluxe edition of Some Girls shows exactly why the 1978 album has often been hailed as the equal of Exile On Main Street. The album stands as both a time capsule and a timeless listen and it features the band at their tightest and toughest, at their most vibrant and vital.CD 1 (Some Girls Remastered)

Music From Graffiti Bridge (Pre-Order)Graffiti Bridge is the twelfth full-length studio album by Prince, and the companion album to his second dramatic motion picture, Graffiti Bridge. It was originally released worldwide in August 1990 (fourteen months after his previous album, Batman).
For the first time, Prince included on the album tracks he had written and produced for other artists (also included in the movie), and singles were also released to support those artists.
The album was largely made up of older tracks which had been revived from the vault and reworked for release, and could be considered a greatest hits of unreleased material.LP 1

60's and 70's Soul, Funk, Disco, Party-Rap and Boogie from Arkansas's Legendary Independent Label the final installment presented as an all inclusive 4xLP Anthology.
Now-Again Records, in association with label-owner Lee Anthony, is proud to present the release of True Soul: Deep Sounds from the Left of Stax, a collection of rare and unreleased funk and soul music from the fabled Arkansas indie. Over twelve years in the making, this anthology presented over the course of two volumes of CD/DVDs and one four-LP box set seeks to establish True Soul's rightful place within America's funk and soul pantheon.
As much as this set is about the adventurous, always-funky and oh-so-rare recordings that True Soul made possible, it is also about Anthony, the man. A true, American up-from-the-bootstraps story, Anthony's is one in which his frontiersman's entrepreneurial spirit and vision remains undeterred as he sets up black-owned businesses in a post-Jim Crow South and succeeds in capturing recordings from the high water mark of America's funk and soul movement.
Anthony's story intertwines with the renowned Sam Philips an early mentor and patron and Memphis's Al Bell and Willie Mitchell with whom Anthony collaborated as he tried to cultivate Little Rock's funk and soul in the shadow of Stax and Hi Records. This anthology will make influence amongst the history of southern funk and soul is transparent, as his story of how he helped turn a stranded road band into the Gap Band.
This comprehensive True Soul Records anthology including a 10-page, booklet chock full of photos, ephemera and extensive liner notes - not only carries the rare distributed funk and soul 45s that led the likes of renowned collectors DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist to Lee Anthony's door in search of Anthony's fabled treasure chest, but also includes previously unreleased boogie, disco and party rap recorded in True Soul's early-80's twilight. You can find this all contained in a one of a kind 4xLP boxset, with each sleeve donning the True Soul logo that Anthony held so dear.1. Thomas East - 'Slipping Around (45 Version)'

Their Greatest HitsShake 'em up! R&B from the vaults of King/Federal Records!
The lascivious pen of Henry "Hank" Ballard was responsible for many risquÉ odes, including The Midnighters' "Work With Me Annie," "Sexy Ways," and "Get It," major R&B hits of the early '50s all included on 1956's Their Greatest Hits! The FCC banned several of the band's songs from airplay, which only made them that much more desirable for the growing teenage market, and this Sundazed edition-pressed on 180 gram audiophile vinyl at RTI-is the ultimate way to experience the best of the throbbing fury of this storied ensemble at its peak. Rocket Number NinePressed On Green Colored Vinyl
Among Sun Ra's most famous and jet-propelled anthems, Rocket Number Nine is heard here in one of the earliest renditions from a marathon June 1960 session, with a staggering, swaggering, hip-bop beat. Ignition. Liftoff. Rocket Number Nine Take Off for the Planet Venus, Zoom Zoom! Up in the air! Zoom! Up! Paired with originally unknown recordings, including the driving, bossa nova-infused Ankhnation from 1959 and Project Black Mass from 1962.
More energized and driving in contrast with the rather laconic subsequent versions appearing elsewhere, Ankhnation features a feast of traded solos from assorted Arkestral all-stars such as John Gilmore, Pat Patrick, and Hobart Dotson.
Project Black Mass is straight from the Vaults of Mystery: Voice of the Cosmos in spirit-science precision. Romping, rumbling low tones, glittering, twinkling stars, wanderful wondering. Architecture of moments, milestones of Blackness.
