    Crack-Up (Pre-Order)

Fleet Foxes will release Crack-Up, its long-awaited and highly anticipated third album on Nonesuch Records. Crack-Up comes six years after the 2011 release of Helplessness Blues and nearly a decade since the band's 2008 self-titled debut. Fleet Foxes has released the album track Third of May / daigahara, a nearly nine-minute epic powered by piano and electric twelve-string guitar, string quartet, and the group's trademark sparkling harmonies.

All eleven of the songs on Crack-Up were written by Robin Pecknold. The album was co-produced by Pecknold and Skyler Skjelset, his longtime bandmate, collaborator, and childhood friend. Crack-Up was recorded at various locations across the United States between July 2016 and January 2017: at Electric Lady Studios, Sear Sound, The Void, Rare Book Room, Avast, and The Unknown. Phil Ek mixed the album, at Sear Sound, and it was mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound. Fleet Foxes is Robin Pecknold (vocals, multi-instrumentalist), Skyler Skjelset (multi-instrumentalist, vocals), Casey Wescott (multi-instrumentalist, vocals), Christian Wargo (multi-instrumentalist, vocals), and Morgan Henderson (multi-instrumentalist).

Fleet Foxes' self-titled debut made a profound impact on the international musical landscape, earning them Uncut's first ever Music Award Prize, and topping numerous Best of lists, including Rolling Stone's 100 Best Albums of the 2000's and Pitchfork's 50 Best Albums of 2008. Fleet Foxes is certified Gold in North America and Platinum in both the UK and Australia. The follow-up album Helplessness Blues was met with the same critical praise as its predecessor (MOJO five stars, Rolling Stone four stars, Pitchfork Best New Music); that album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200, went Gold in the UK, and earned the band a Grammy nomination.

    Fleet Foxes

Seattle's five piece band, Fleet Foxes traffic in baroque harmonic pop on this, their self titled full length debut. They draw influences from the traditions of folk, pop, choral, gospel, sacred harp singing, West Coast music, traditional music from Ireland to Japan, film scores and their peers from the Northwest. The subject matter ranges from the natural world and familial bonds to bygone loves and stone cold graves. Fleet Foxes is a supremely crafted and confident affair produced by the famous Phil Ek (Modest Mouse, The Shins).

    Black Hours

Hamilton Leithauser announces his debut solo album Black Hours via Ribbon Music -
inaugurating a new chapter in an already remarkable career from The Walkmen front man. The album
brings Leithauser full circle and then some, from lonely midwinter piano-and-vocals sessions, to a
loud, live Rock n Roll group and back again. Featuring Leithauser with a slew of talented collaborators
including Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend), Paul Maroon (The Walkmen), Morgan Henderson
(Fleet Foxes) and Richard Swift (The Shins/solo), the album showcases Leithauser at his most
    passionate, personal and free.

The video for the first single "Alexandra," which was directed by SXSW Film Festival Grand Jury award
winning director Tristan Patterson. The track was co-written by Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam
Batmanglij, the latter producing and mixing the track.

In its orchestrated rhythms, dynamic vocals, and generous production, Black Hours speaks from one
booming voice. The instrumentation provides muscle and texture: Maroon covering a wide range of
acoustic and electric guitars as well as grand piano; Batmanglij switching between guitar, harpsichord,
piano, bass and harmonica; Morgan Henderson from Fleet Foxes takes the marimba and upright bass,
and Richard Swift lays down impressive drums on seven tracks (Henderson & Swift will be accompanying
Leithauser on a full U.S. tour). Amber Coffman from the Dirty Projectors provides backing vocals on
several numbers and even Hugh McIntosh of Leithauser's first band, the Recoys, returns to the drum
stool for a pair of songs.

Principal recording was done in August 2013 at Vox Studios in Los Angeles, "the oldest private studio in
the world", where Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Johnny Mercer, and countless others cut demos before
appearing on air at NBC studios, just across Melrose Ave.

    Big Mess

Pressed On Mixed Red & Yellow Colored Vinyl

Recorded in Los Angeles and Seattle with producers Captain Cuts (Grouplove's own Ryan Rabin) and Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, The Shins), Big Mess features the signature anthemic choruses and infectious hooks that first brought the Los Angeles quintet to prominence through hits like "Tongue Tied," "Colours," and "Ways To Go." No stranger to the worldwide festival circuit, Grouplove has made an album that brilliantly showcases their richly narrated songs with elaborate production.

We made this album at an important crossroads in our lives, and it was a dream come true to be able to work with Phil Ek up in Seattle and with Ryan down in LA. We're extremely excited for the world to hear it!" offered singer/guitarist Christian Zucconi.

    Field Songs

On his forthcoming new album Field Songs, Iowa troubadour William Elliott Whitmore documents a vanishing American landscape with all the heartfelt soul and quiet fury one could hope for. He utilizes a powerful singing voice beyond his years and a stark dramatic sound rooted in bluegrass, blues and folk protest music. The new songs vividly evoke a life of struggle, humble resilience and family bond inspired by life on his familys farm along the Mississippi River.

Whitmore has made a name for himself both within the punk movement, where his populism and sincerity resonate with alienated urban kids, and the roots community, where writers like Andy Downing of the Chicago Tribune have placed him within the new pastoralism of Bon Iver and the Fleet Foxes.

    Death Song (Pre-Order)

The Black Angels - Austin's psych rock masters - have confirmed details for their upcoming album, 'Death Song.,' the five-piece's first full-length release in four years.

Written and recorded in large part during the recent election cycle, the music on 'Death Song' serves as part protest, part emotional catharsis in a climate dominated by division, anxiety and unease. "Currency," a strong contender for the heaviest song the band has ever put to wax, meditates on the governing role the monetary system plays in our lives, while slow-building psychedelic earworm "Half Believing" questions the nature and confusing realities of devotion.

Recorded between Seattle and Austin, 'Death Song' features production from Phil Ek (Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes, The Shins). The 11-track collection offers a sharply honed elaboration on their signature sound - menacing fuzz guitar and cutting wordplay, steeped in a murky hallucinatory dream.

Since forming in Austin in 2004, The Black Angels have become standard-bearers for modern psych-rock, and the New York Times has said they "play psychedelic rock as if the 1960s never ended, and they are absolute masters of it".

The band has toured with Queens of the Stone Age, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Black Keys + more, and played festivals such as Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, Primavera, Harvest Fest, Coachella and Bonnaroo. Two of the band members co-founded Levitation Festival (formerly Austin Psych Fest) in 2008, which has since grown into one of the best-reviewed and expertly-curated festivals in the country.

    Passerby

In a world where instant gratification is the norm, patience has become
a rare commodity. But for Zoë Randell and Steve Hassett, who make up
indie-folk duo Luluc (pronounced Loo-LUKE), letting things unfold in
due time not only defines their career trajectory, it also works as a pretty
good description of their approach to making music. Music that Sub
Pop co-founder Jonathan Poneman describes as bracing, subtle, tender
    and magnificent.

So while it may seem like Randell and Hassett's history is littered with
all kinds of good luck-from their initial meeting to their relationship
with The National's Aaron Dessner to opening slots with artists like
Lucinda Williams, Fleet Foxes, and JosÉ Gonzàlez; to their deal with Sub
Pop; to grabbing the attention of Nick Drake's producer-being in the
right place at the right time isn't just about fate. It's about knowing when
something feels right and having the confidence that people will respond
    when they're ready.

There's no question that everything these Australians (who split their
time between Melbourne and their adopted hometown of Brooklyn) have
done in their lives has been leading up to this summer's Passerby, their
second album overall and first available worldwide. Passerby is a gorgeously
crafted 10-track album full of beautiful, slow-burning melodies and
delicate harmonies, which drip out of their mouths like honey. The
attention to detail is unmistakable, and highlights like "Reverie On
Norfolk Street" and "Early Night" are as haunting as they are hummable.
Unadorned guitars and voices make up the bulk of the dreamy sound,
though the power of the added instrumentation can't be overstated, with
well-placed piano, percussion, double bass, sax, trumpet, trombone,
and more adding color to the cosmopolitan atmosphere. Band favorites
like Simon and Garfunkel and Gillian Welch (and, of course, Nick Drake)
can be felt throughout Passerby, while the poignant restraint aligns them
    well with labelmates Low.

Co-produced by the band and Dessner, Passerby shows off all of Luluc's
best qualities, retaining the gentle beauty of the duo's debut while adding
textures built with a cadre of impressive players. It's the trophy celebrating
Luluc's airtight case that good things-no, make that great things-really
do come to those who wait. The wait is over. The world is ready to hear
    Luluc quiet and clear.

Father John Misty is the nom-de-plume of Josh Tillman, who has been releasing solo albums since 2003 and who recently left Seattle's Fleet Foxes after playing drums from 2008-2011. Fear Fun consists of such disparate elements as Waylon Jennings, Harry Nilsson, Arthur Russell, and Physical Graffiti, often within the same song. Tillman's voice has never been better, while the music maintains a dark, mysterious yet playful quality. Fear Fun is Father John Misty's Sub Pop debut and was produced by Phil Ek (Modest Mouse, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes).

    The Lion's Roar (Awaiting Repress)

Swedish sisters First Aid Kit have gone from faraway teenage fans covering Fleet Foxes for fun to recording a Blue Series 7-Inch single of Buffy Sainte- Marie's Universal Soldier with Jack White in his Nashville, TN Third Man Studios. Originally signed by The Knife owned label, Rabid Records, Wichita Recordings signed them in 2009 and released their debut LP The Big Black and the Blue in early 2010. Their sophomore album was recorded in spring 2011 in Omaha, NE produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Jenny Lewis, Monsters of Folk). From the dynamic title track onwards, the sophomore album is a rich and stirring affair that expands upon the keen and sophisticated country tinged pop of their critically acclaimed debut. The Lion's Roar is a full band record, the girls' father Benkt takes the bass, Mattias Bergqvist drums, while Mogis and Nate Walcott of Bright Eyes, and a cast of Omaha-based musicians round out the sound. Album closer, 'King of the World' features The Felice Brothers, just passing through town during the session, and local hero Conor Oberst, who sings the last verse.

In an era of social media and perceived self-impor tance, Noah Gundersen
is in many ways the antithesis of his time. Noah's EP Family pays homage to the
people who have shaped his life - rather than the self-aggrandizing so common
to the often homogeneous world of singer-songwriters.

"Family comes in many forms," says Noah. "I t lives with us, for better and for
worse. I t shapes us. That 's what this EP is about." The songs on Family are consistently
impressive and defy genre. Whereas roots-tinged songs like "Family "
conjure up shades of a solo R yan Adams, the sweeping and ethereal "Fire," bears
similarities to the lush harmonic feats of Fleet Foxes. Perhaps the album's standout
track is the pulsating "David," which combines the haunting dark ness of Tom
Waits with the lyrical angst of Neil Young. " The song is about who I want to be,
while realizing who I am. I want to be less like my Father and more like my Dad."

Written over the span of ten months and recorded in one, The Cave Singers' Naomi bears a new and more expansive production style that captures the live performance energy the band has developed over the past five years. The album was engineered and produced at Avast Studios in Seattle by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Built To Spill, Shins, Modest Mouse). Each song functions like a chapter in a bigger story, addressing themes of the past, exhuming the memories under moonlight. There are songs of addiction, car ownership, fireworks, tree houses, moving to New Mexico, and God, each shifting in all the ways that make life difficult and miraculous, astounding and beautiful.

    Heaven (Awaiting Repress)

Fat Possum Records is excited to present the new album, Heaven, from the celebrated New York quintet The Walkmen. The record is the band's sixth and was produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Shins, Band of Horses) in Seattle.

The Walkmen just celebrated their 10th anniversary and are still comprised of the same members that started the group in 2001: drummer Matt Barrick, multi-instrumentalist Pete Bauer, singer Hamilton Leithauser, guitarist Paul Maroon and bassist Walter Martin. The Fleet Fox's Robin Pecknold sings harmonies on two songs on the record.

When describing Heaven, Leithauser portrays a band hitting maturity, comfortable in its mastery, after a decade together. "The detachment you can feel throughout our younger records is gone. We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement. Adds Maroon, "When you're starting out, you're sitting there trying to come up with a big idea, but after a while, you learn about the process of writing. You learn about your friends in the band and how they work best."

It's been ten years since the Walkmen made their debut album, Everybody Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone. Ten years since they mixed the lovingly recorded analog tapes down to the cheapest CD burner they could find. Ten years since Leithauser snapped Maroon's arm in a celebratory wrestling match. Ten years since critics attached them to a New York scene they never wanted any part of. In the spring of 2011, the band played a series of 10th anniversary shows that demonstrated how far they have outstripped their peers: two sets over two hours, no filler, rapturously received. In contrast, fellow graduates from New York's celebrated rock revival class of '02 have burned out or faded from view.

The Walkmen are the great New York band of their generation, and in Heaven, they have delivered their third killer album in a row. Although Leithauser argues that "our biggest accomplishment is just being here," they are making the best music of their career and filling their largest venues yet. Heaven is a definitive statement of purpose and commitment, from a band at the peak of its powers that is finally winning the recognition it deserves. LP includes a digital download card.

The Sound Of Everything (On Sale)

Born out of late-night graveyard experimentation, Seattle's Thousands is comprised of guitarists/vocalists Kristian Garrard and Luke Bergman. The Sound of Everything, the duo's stark and original spin on modern folk music is one of the most gentle and serene recordings you're likely to ever hear. The band's debut album is solely voices, guitars, and an array of environmental sounds such as birds, leaves, wind, intentionally recorded along with the songs and untouched.

Each recorded live in one take, the songs on the album provide a musical snapshot of a moment in time, a picture postcard of the world as it was where and when Garrard and Bergman recorded each of these 11 songs. The two drove tirelessly across the Pacific Northwest searching for recording locations, settling on an abandoned silo, a barn and a riverbank as the perfect natural studios. Originally brought to the attention of Bella Union by Fleet Foxes' Sky Skjelset, Thousands have managed to fit the sound of everything cozily in between two headphones.

    Harlequin Dream

Within weeks of finishing work on 2011's award-winning, internationally renowned debut LP, Moonfire - months before it was
even released - singer / songwriter Dave Hosking was hit by a creative tsunami. Boy & Bear is a band that likes to follow
their muse - and the new songs were flowing. The cocoon-like existence of working together in a new environment -
Nashville, in the case of Moonfire - generated its share of magic, but Hosking and his fellow Boy & Bears wanted to bring it
all back home, to get back to where their musical journey began in 2009. His band mates Tim Hart, Killian Gavin, Jon Hart and
    David Symes, agreed.

The record in question, Harlequin Dream went on to debut at #1 in Australia. The bold and brave new album was recorded
in their hometown of Sydney at legendary Alberts Studio and mixed by Phil Ek (Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Modest
Mouse). The lead single, "Southern Sun," has a powerful urgency not unlike the best of Bruce Springsteen or Fleetwood
Mac, while a sprinkling of strings and brass brings life and color to such standouts as "Back down the Black," "Old Town
    Blues" and "Stranger."

Boy & Bear's debut record Moonfire took the band to some places they never thought they'd see, including several tours
of Europe and America, and went on to win five ARIA Awards, including Album of the Year.

    Greylag

    Limited Edition Gold Vinyl

Like the wild goose that the Portland-based trio are named after, the members of Greylag have all undertaken amazing journeys, migrating as if by homing instinct from different parts of the US, to create a self-titled debut album that s the latest must-have slice of verdant, far-reaching Americana. Greylag is rich in melody, mood and detail with a range that mirrors the distance between their individual birthplaces, creating a personal twist on some timeless musical traditions, embracing electric and acoustic with a sound that s both subtle and forceful.

Meet Andrew Stonestreet (lead vocal, acoustic guitar, originally from West Virginia), Daniel Dixon (lead guitar and other stringed things, keyboards, from Northern California) and Brady Swan (drums, from Texas). The venerated Phil Ek (Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Modest Mouse, The Shins) produced the album at Seattle s Avast! Studio, who clearly knows a sublime enterprising combination of roots and rock music when he hears it.

The name Greylag looks and sounds strong but has developed more meaning for the band - It s a wild goose, from which all domestic geese originate, so it s the first survivor, and it s still wild, and doing things its own way - the lag part refers to it being the last bird to migrate. It sits back and watches. We love the connotation.

    Run River North

2-LP Gatefold Package With Bonus Track

"Run River North stays the course - and finds success." - NPR

"Snappy rock and chamber folk frames their tales of their parents' dreams and struggles to find purchase in America."
    - Wall Street Journal

"the band's ambitious folk pop instrumentals, and embellished with frontman Alex Hwang's dulcet, Ben Gibbard-like tones,
is a sense of possibility" - MTV World

In the course of several months, Run River North went from playing a handful of hometown shows in Los Angeles to
performing to an audience of millions on late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! It was an explosive trajectory for the sextet,
whose uplifting anthems march to the beat of drums, jangling guitars and a rapturous string section. The rapid ascent from
obscurity launched a new chapter for the band (then called Monsters Calling Home), whose upcoming full-length self-titled
debut ventures further into effervescent rock anchored with a down-home aesthetic.

The band recorded their self-titled debut with producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Built to Spill, Band of Horses). The songs ebb
and flow with optimism, traversing emotional and musical landscapes woven into the strings duo of Daniel Chae and
Jennifer Rim, alongside the galloping rhythm section of bassist Joe Chun, keyboardist Sally Kang and drummer John
Chong. Together, their voices coalesce as one, a chorus calling out with a gentle urgency. The music of Run River North
explores the ever-shifting search for self, from the energetic indie-rock interludes to the lonesome guitar strums, always
asking the question: Is home a place or is it the people in your life? "We're not a posh, polished pop sound," says Alex
Hwang, Run River North's singer/songwriter. "We have stories we want to tell and they take a little more time. After all, the
journey to find your place is a long one, it's an ongoing, evolving adventure."

The Trials Of Van Occupanther (10th Anniversary Edition) (Awaiting Repress)

10th Anniversary Edition On 180-Gram Gold Vinyl

Includes A B2 Pull-Out Poster, Handwritten Lyrics & Previously Unseen Photos

Comes With A Special Bonus 7 With 2 Unreleased Songs

Limited To Only 1000 Copies For North America

This Autumn Midlake will celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Trials of Van Occupanther with a deluxe reissue via Bella Union on 180g gold vinyl, complete with a B2 pull-out poster, handwritten lyrics and previously unseen photos. The cover artwork has been reimagined in a fittingly flushed, hallucinatory painting by neo-impressionist (and pavement-scorching skateboarder) Brian Lotti. The original album will be accompanied by a special bonus 7" featuring two previously unreleased tracks, the plaintive rolling lament of "The Fairest Way" and the revelatory psychedelic swirl of "Festival," two tracks recorded before original vocalist Tim Smith departed the band.

In 2006, Van Occupanther was hailed as an instant classic and over the course of the next year proved to be the band's commercial breakthrough. While their debut, 2004's Bamnan and Slivercork, had drawn acclaim alongside comparisons to Grandaddy and Radiohead, Midlake looked further afield and deeper within for the follow-up. Suffused with a romantic yearning for the simpler life, this was a record pitched between 1871, 1971 and somewhere out of time: between Henry David Thoreau and Neil Young's After the Gold Rush, between 1970s Laurel Canyon thinking and a longing for something more mysterious. Rich reserves of wistful melody, dreamy horns, rolling guitars and plaintive pianos reflect its elusive, idiosyncratic narratives: a couple long to be robbed by bandits so they can start anew, an outcast scientist ponders his pariah status, a woman chases a frisky deer, a river leads who knows where yet leaves you little choice but to follow

Famous admirers included Thom Yorke, Beck, The Flaming Lips, Paul Weller, James Dean Bradfield, St Vincent, actor/skateboarder Jason Lee and The Chemical Brothers, and the album went on to secure high placings in the end-of-year polls. Since then, their influence has perhaps been felt in the breakthrough of many a band or singer at one with the stuff of beards, bucolic yearning and blissful West Coast harmonies, from Fleet Foxes to Band of Horses, The Low Anthem, Jonathan Wilson, Matthew E White and beyond.

Not that Midlake stood still to lap up the praise: a band acutely attuned to nature's shifts, they embraced change. In 2010 they ventured into darker psych-folk thickets for The Courage of Others and backed John Grant on his celebrated breakthrough album, Queen of Denmark. When Tim Smith subsequently departed, guitarist/singer Eric Pulido stepped up to the lead vocal role for 2013's freshly exploratory Antiphon. Since then, Pulido and various Midlake members have embarked on a new musical project with a cast of all-stars including members of Grandaddy, Franz Ferdinand, Band of Horses and Travis, for an album due for release next year. All of this serves to remind us what fertile seeds were sown with The Trials of Van Occupanther: a modern classic, made of vintage craft and timeless magic.
